Arc 4 Chapter 3: A voucher

Mirio was on his way to Sir Nighteye's office. He wanted to give Izuku a chance to be a part of the work study. He fought with him and saw something he never saw in other students before, and wanted Sir Nighteye to see it.

"Hello, Sir." Mirio greeted, returning after his early morning patrol.

"Ahh, Mirio, just the person I'm looking for." Nighteye said. "I need you to pass this on to Aizawa. I want to personally see that JoJo kid tomorrow. He has great potential to be a hero especially with those items."

"About that. Sure, I might talk to Kenshi, but I was thinking and I think you should give that Midoriya kid an offer too." Mirio suggested. Nighteye's smile turned into a frown.

"No." Nighteye told him.

"Why? What's your issue with the kid, he seems bright and was able to get the class to follow him, not many first years can do that." Mirio argued.

"Mirio, no means no. I have my reasons." Nighteye told him.

"This has to do with the fact that he's All Might's son right." Mirio said, causing the former sidekick to stop in his tracks, turning to glare at the boy.

"That boy, is just because he is the son of All Might, that he has One for All, a quirk he doesnt deserve whatsoever. That quirk should have been yours, heck that JoJo boy would have been a better successor that…. that brat." Nighteye shouted.

"Look, I've spoken around, talked to some second years and the other departments of the first year. All of them think Midoriya is a fine guy, even with his father being All Might, he's not stuck up whatsoever. Hell even Mr. Aizawa has a lot of things to say about him. Give him a chance, and if it doesn't work then you can ask him to leave. Just one chance." Mirio pleaded.

Nighteye sighs. "Alright, get him as well tomorrow, he gets one chance and if I see him as anything less than worthy of my time I'm not only kicking his ass out of the agency, but you will also get a deduction in this month's payment for wasting my time. Understood?" Nighteye warned him.

"Yes, Sir." Mirio said as he quickly left to head to school.

Izuku was doing a few pushups as a warm up in his daily training. He had Eri on his back to up the challenge. She was also using her quirk to rewind him to before he even feels the pain.

"This is fun Daddy!" Eri said.

"I know, and you're making it more fun," Izuku told her as he kept doing pushups.

"997, 998, 999….. 1,000!" Ochako counted.

"Yay!" Eri said as she slapped, "What's next?"

"500 punches on logs," Izuku said, "I already got the target set up."

Izuku started the next portion of his workout. He was continuously punching a log while working on his arms. Fortunately despite what happened with Hayate, his hands are still mobile. He just has to not go THAT high from now on.

"Honestly you'd be a greater hero than Nighteye," Ochako said, "You're kind, supportive, encouraging, and on top of that, you have a quirk that lets you see the future! What exactly do you call that?"

"Well I was gonna start calling it Foresight, but then I realized I would get copyright infringement especially from Nighteye," Izuku said as he was punching the log, "So I came up with another idea. Danger Sense."

"Not bad," Ochako said

"I had a feeling you'd be here." A voice said.

"Is that you, Mirio?" Izuku asked, looking around.

"Well I was hoping to scare you, but this works too." Mirio said, stepping out of a wall.

"Are you a ghost?" Eri asked him.

"No…" Mirio trailed off, not knowing Eris name.

"It's Eri." Izuku told him.

"Right. I'm not a ghost eri, that is just my quirk. It allows me to travel through solid objects." Mirio explained, "Well, aren't you a peach? I bet peaches are your favorite fruit."

"Apples," Eri said with a smile, "Especially green apples. They remind me of Daddy."

"Who's your daddy?" Mirio asked.

Eri pointed at Izuku with a cheery smile.

"Long story," Izuku explained.

"Also Midoriya, can I talk to you for a minute? Alone preferably."

"Sure, I'll be with you in a bit?" Izuku said as he packed up his training stuff.

Meanwhile…..

Kenshi was having a sparring match with Momo. She was benefiting from this because she had a sparring partner to help her with her combat abilities, whereas Kenshi benefitted from this because this could help him choose what swords would be best.

The two of them started clashing at each other. Kenshi was putting all of his sword training to good use as he was training with Momo. She could tell he was improving.

"I'm kind of curious about something, why did you turn down Sir Nighteye?" Momo asked, "He seemed very interested in having you around."

"He seemed interested in me only because I was able to predict and counter his star pupil's attacks. A feat that other than me, only Deku has shown. And he has done it better than me. Anyway, Alpha noticed how Nighteye kept glaring at Izuku throughout his conversation with Aizawa. He might be a good man, but if he can't see Izuku as more than just All Might's son, then he needs to open his eyes. That and the fact that he barged into Izuku's house demanded that Izuku give up the title as the successor to All Might and give up being a hero because he was, and I quote 'Just a brat with a hero complex'." Kenshi explained.

"Most def," Alpha said, "Also, nice to see you getting a handle on Cloud's buster sword. With one hand no less!"

"Well, I have been training with swords ever since I got my quirk," Kenshi said.

He then went for a straight Jab only to have it countered.

"Never thought the former side-kick of All Might would be this mean." Momo said, blocking Kenshi's straight. "You think this has to do with the All Might and Nighteye's separation from 6 years ago?"

"Maybe. Though I'm more interested about why Aizawa has a grudge against him" Kenshi replied as he drum-rolled Momo's punch and swept her off her feet, literally, pinning her down. "It might just be that. And I win, 7-4. You own me dinner today." Kenshi said, getting up and offering Momo a hand to help her up as well.

"Whatever you say gameboy." Momo said, getting up and dusting herself.

Back with Mirio and Izuku.

"So…. Eri.." Mirio said, trying to start a conversation.

"Oh, she's not biological, if that's what you're worried about. I found her during the attack in Hosu, she was running away from a man." Izuku explained, as he took a sip from his water bottle. "The hero I was interning with at the time, identified the man as Overhaul. He told me to take the girl and run to a hospital while he held off the villain."

"Overhaul!" Mirio exclaimed. "SIr's been looking on leads to him and his group for almost a year now. He got a tip about drugs that enhanced quirks from one of his informants in the underground."

"Trigger." Izuku said, "I've heard about it. Dad has been overseeing the investigation to a case that involved the drug. I'm not sure what that drug is capable of, but if it gets into the hands of the public, it could spell certain doom for the hero society."

"Yeah, investigations up until now have led to Overhaul and the 8 percepts of death." Mirio explained. "Anyway, I came to you because I want to try and get you to intern under sir." Mirio told him, "I practically begged him to give you a chance."

"Thank you for the offer, but I don't work with, and pardon the french here, but narcissistic people who have a twisted view of the world." Izuku said, with a slight scowl.

"Midoriya, just hear me out.." Mirio told him.

"No, Mirio, that man had the audacity to barge into my house, tell me that I'm not worthy to be a hero and that I should quit while I still can." Izuku told him.

"Give the man a chance, Midoriya." Mirio told him. "I can understand you're angry at him but he might just help you out in the long run. I'm also talking to Jotaro about it as well."

"I told you to call me Jojo!" Kenshi said as he walked by.

"Right… Jojo. Anyway, think about it and if you change your mind, meet me tomorrow morning near the cafeteria."

"I'll let you know." Izuku said, walking back to his girlfriend and daughter.

Eri ran over to Izuku and jumped into his arms and smiled.

"Daddy I don't care what that mean man said," she said, "You're a great hero to me."

Izuku smiled and kissed the horn on her head to which she responded with a small giggle.

"I love you Daddy," Eri said.

"I love you too Eri," Izuku said with a smile.

Ochako hugged her boyfriend and daughter.

"I love you both," Ochako said.

Mirio couldn't help but smile at the boy and what he had.

Kenshi was on his way back to his dorm. He saw a package on his bed. It was a gamers guide to Phoenix Rises that told how to beat some of the hardest dungeons in the game. There was also a letter on there.

'One of your classmates tells me how much you enjoy gaming. Consider this a gift. You'll receive more if you reconsider my offer and join my workstudy. Warm regards.

-Sir Nighteye'

Kenshi wasn't convinced. He wasn't interested in taking the internship.
