The Hero Demon spent the rest of her time exploring the new town and talking to the others. The Hero Demon was around for at least three hours before she turns back into Danny and Justice. All the girls surround Danny as they saw Justice's band around her eyes. Lucifer and Judgement both returned, covered in blood and Luifcer took off the band.
"Danny, open your eyes!" She said.
Danny clearly has scratch marks on his face but didn't open his eyes.
"Danny, please?" Judgement asked.
Danny sighs, and slowly opens his eyes. All the girl's gasps as they saw his blue eyes were now mist-like. Danny tries to find them, but he could only see darkness.
"I'm blind, aren't I?" He asked.
Both Lucifer and Judgement growl, ready to return to Hell to treat Mitch another lesson, but felt Danny grabs their hands.
"Stay." He said.
Malina sighs and pulls out her phone. She was about to call Danny's parents when she notices Azazel walking upstairs.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Going to ask my father for help," Azazel said.
"And I was hoping you could give Daniel his sight back." She explains.
"Hmm, I understand your reason, my child. However, I can not return Daniel's sight."
"WHAT?!" Azazel shouted in surprise.
"Calm yourself. I would not return his sight, but you can."
"Huh? How? I'm not an archangel or my brother." Azazel said.
"True, but remember, I made you as special as the others. You're all equal in my eyes. I know you can help him regain his sight."
Azazel sighs. She knew her father trusted her. She nods and found herself back in her room. She stood up and look over a picture that was taken two months ago. It showed all the girls surround Danny as they pose for a picture. She looks at Danny and smiles. Every time she looks at him, she sees another angel on earth. It was because of him that she hasn't turn into a demon herself. Azazel was happy. Daniel was a friend that understood her. She sighs again, wondering how she was going to return Daniel's sight. She knew her father wouldn't say no without reason. She got up and headed downstairs and saw Jack and Maddie fussing over him.
"Mom, please. It's not the girl's fault. Justice Ex-boyfriend did this." He said.
"And don't worry, he got want was coming to him," Lucifer added.
"Hey, Azazel. What did your father say?" Judgement asked.
"He won't return Daniel's sight." She said, surprising everyone.
"But he trusts me to find a way." She added.
"How?" Cerberus asked.
Azazel didn't answer. She had no idea how to return Daniel's sight. Lucifer looks at her boyfriend and started to think to herself.
"Maybe if we could use..." She said, making everyone turn to her.
"What?" Jack asked.
"Back when I was still an Angel, I recall my father making an item that was able to cure anything, no matter what. He trusted the first people he made to hide it. There is only one place I can think of that it's hidden in. A place we're forbidden to go." She said.
Azazel eyes widen as she knew the places she was talking about. The first home of the humans.
"The Garden of Eden?!" She shouted.
"Wait, that place is real?" Maddie asked.
"It is. However, getting there won't be easy. Plus, no one has stepped inside the garden in centuries." Lucifer said.
Azazel was shocked to hear that. However, she looks over at Daniel and saw his eyes. She knew Daniel didn't deserve to lose his eyesight. Whatever her father made, she was going to find it. She just hopes that he understands why she was going to a forbidden place.
Later that night...
Azazel was packing her things, ready to find the Garden of Eden and the item to return Daniel's sight. She didn't tell anyone what she was planning. She places some food in her pack and puts it on. She opens the window and slips out, using her new wings to float in the air. She quickly closes the window and started to fly away from the apartment. She was halfway across town when she stops. She looks up at the moonless night and sighs.
"I'm sorry, father..." She whispers.
She was about to fly off when she felt someone touch her shoulder. Azazel thought she was caught and turns around to explain herself, only to find Danny in front of her.
"Daniel?!" She said.
"Azazel? I thought I heard the sound of Angel Wings." He said.
"What are you doing out here?" Azazel asked.
"I can ask you the same question," Danny asked back.
"I'm...um...take a night flight! Yeah, I'm just stretching my wings!" Azazel said, nervously.
"Azazel, I'm blind, not stupid. You're looking for the Garden of Eden, aren't you?" Danny asked.
"Yes...but for a good reason!" She quickly said.
Though Danny couldn't see, he still looks at her with a raised eyebrow.
"I want to return your sight. As your Guardian Angel, it's my job to help you. Besides, I like your blue eyes." Azazel said.
Danny shook his head and smiles. Azazel was different from the others. Unlike the rest of the girls, Danny felt safe and relax with her. She felt pure and safe to be around. True, the others are trying to make him feel more comfortable, but Azazel was someone he could relate to more. He reaches over and was able to place a hand on her shoulder.
"Azazel, thanks. You really are an angel." He smiles.
Azazel looks surprised before she blushed. She then remembers something that Modeus told her. She grabs Danny's hand and moves it to her cheek. Danny blinks as he rubs his thumb a little on her cheek. He then reaches up with his other hand touches her other cheek. Azazel smiles before leading forward and kisses Danny. He was shocked for a second before returning it. They floated in the air for a few seconds before they broke.
"Let's get going," Azazel said, holding his hand.
"Huh?" Danny asked.
"I'm going to return your sight, and I think you should come with me. I don't know if my father made it where the item can be taken out, but maybe we should use it in the garden." Azazel said.
"Okay, I just hope he doesn't become too upset," Danny said.
"Same here," Azazel whispers.
A few hours later...
Azazel and Danny flew until they were far from the town. Azazel already guesses that Lucifer and the others knew what she was planning and hope they didn't try to stop her. She looks over at Danny and saw he was trying to stay awake. She looks around and spots a nearby cave.
"Daniel, let's take a break." She said, pulling him towards the cave.
They landed, and Azazel took a peek in the cave. It wasn't very deep, and there were no animals in the cave.
"Azazel..." Danny spoke up.
"Please, rest." She said, having him sit down.
She then pulls off her pack and started to look through it. She found a few apples and gave one to Danny. She looks at the apple and remembers how the first two humans were kicked out of the garden after Lucifer tricks them into eating the apple from the tree in the garden. Though most Angels saw apples as a forbidden fruit, she didn't. She knew that apples were much different from the ones in the garden. Plus, she wasn't there for that. She looks up and saw Daniel eating his apple. She sits down and started to eat hers.
A bit later, Azazel was able to make a fire in means of keeping Danny warm after he turns back into his human form to save energy. She looks at him and smiles. Daniel has done so much for her. Becoming her friend, standing up for her when her general mistreated her, even stopping her when she was about to kill her general. He was her friend, and she loves him very much. She wanted to be the best angel she could be for him.
"Azazel?" Danny asked, breaking her from her thoughts.
"Yes?" She answers walking up to him.
"Why are you going so far for me?" Danny asked, a little confuse.
"Because you're my friend. You have done so much for me, and now it's time I return the favour." She said, sitting next to him.
"Azazel..." Danny said, a bit shocked.
"I know I'm not a demon like the others, but I don't care. You never let it bother you that I'm an angel. When we first meet back in Hell, there was something about you that made me happy. Not because you look like an angel yourself, but something told me I could relate to you. You might be a mortal, but you were more than that. I was curious as to why I could. When you ask if I could join you, I was surprised. I have tried to join many groups back in Heaven, but most would ignore me and whisper something behind my back. But you never did. There was so much about you that I wanted to learn. I wanted to be like you." Azazel said.
Danny blinks. She wanted to be like him? Azazel looks away and smiles.
"You were brave, kind, caring, and most of all, able to ignore what others said about you. You weren't an angel, but you continue your everyday life. You were one of a kind, Daniel." She said.
"Azazel..." Danny said, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"You don't have to be like me. I relate to you because of how similar we are. I became your friend because you need one. When I first saw you, I was surprised to learn that you were an angel. But when I heard that you were signed to go to hell, I could tell something was up. Something about sending a single angel to Hell didn't sit right with me. Hell was dangerous. Sending a single angel was not a good idea. I ask you to join us for two reasons. One, I didn't want anything to happen to you during the trip. As curious as you were, I didn't want anything happening to you." Danny said.
"And the other?" Azazel asked, surprised.
"Two, you look alone. No friends and alone. I don't like leaving people alone. Even before I got my powers, I hate when someone was alone. That's why I became Sam's friend. That's why I try to be there for Valerie after she was kicked out of the A-Listers. Just like how I wanted to be there for you. Angel or no angel, I help everyone, even if they try to kill me. I couldn't leave them. Call it my hero complex, but I know better than to leave someone in danger." He added.
Azazel smiles and hugs Danny. Danny hugs her back and adds one last thing.
"And Azazel? Even if you become a demon, it won't change my thoughts about you. Just remember, I like you for who you are." Danny said.
She smiles and then kisses Danny. She was glad to meet a human that understands her.
Morning...
Azazel looks at the sunrise and already guess that hers and Danny's friends are now looking for them. She already knew that her father found them and already knew what her plan was, but she wasn't going to stop. She looks back at Danny and smiles as the blind boy try to put out the fire. She walks over and helps him. After the fire was put out, Danny turns back into his ghost form and grabs her hand.
"Azazel, in case this doesn't work out, I wanted to say, thanks. Thanks for trying to get my sight back." Danny said.
"You're welcome, and we are getting your sight back." She said.
Without another word, they took off into the air, unknowing that a small bug was watching them leave. A bug that looks more machine than insect.
And that's the first half of this quest. I would like to thank mgasmsms for the idea of Azazel and Danny heading out to find an item to give Danny's sight back. So, Danny and Azazel are heading for the Garden of Eden to find the item that will give Danny his sight back. However, I haven't thought of what the item should be yet. Remember, I am open to ideas. I also got two different ideas for Danny's and Azazel fusion. They both sound like good ideas and I might end up combining them. And, as you read, they're not the only ones looking for the Garden of Eden.
