With this revelation, Kagome's frown deepened. Logic had long since escaped reasoning, but Kagome wasn't surprised. There was no use sulking about it either. Whatever fate had in store for her in this strange world, she had no other choice but to face.
But it wouldn't be for long. Kagome intended to leave as soon as the opportunity arose. Whether that included the Sacred Jewel's help or someone else entirely. Speaking of the jewel… where was it?
Aqua orbs shifted around the room once more, but she couldn't locate her uniform. Instead, she noticed a silver robe inlaid with glittering jewels, hanging from a post just outside the basin. Nothing else caught her eye besides ornamental plants and flowers decorating the circumference of her bath.
"Although I'm not sure why Sesshomaru brought me here, I suppose I have him to thank…" Kagome said, mostly to herself.
"But of course, my lady. The crown prince would never abandon someone in need. And you are no exception, my lady. He must care an awful lot about you."
The thought almost made her laugh. "I doubt that. And you don't have to call me by that title. I'm no different from a commoner. Besides, I barely know anything about Sesshomaru."
"Truly?" The woman seemed surprise. "I am most curious about your relationship. No doubt many others just the same. After all, I was once his personal attendant, but as soon as he brought you here, he gave me to you. I'd say, he must care an awful lot to hand you one of his most trusted servants," She added. "Why, it's not something he's done before."
Kagome blinked. "Speaking of which… we haven't properly introduced ourselves. My name is Kagome."
"It's a pleasure to serve you, Lady Kagome. You may refer to me as Mei-Ling. Should ever you need anything, don't hesitate," She said, giggling. "But I admit, I was worried when you didn't awaken right away."
"How long was I asleep?"
"Considering your minor injuries, I suppose you must have suffered from some ordeal. You seemed so exhausted. My lady, you were asleep for a day and a half."

What do you think about Kagome's new servant, Mei-Ling? :) When it comes to this alternate world, not everything will be 100% based on Chinese customs and what not. I will be using a mixture of Japanese and Chinese throughout the story. Also, pay no attention to logic as the story progresses. This is a fun story with lots of unique twists, some inspired from Chinese Dramas.
