A Miko and Daiyoukai set out to learn the secrets written in the stars and if the hope they find for themselves is truly false, or if it’s all an opportunity for something neither realized they needed.

37. Thirty-seven

He scowled, and turned his head to face her.

"I did not take you for a fool, but perhaps I was mistaken."

Indignation flared.

"It is not foolish to hope, Sesshomaru. Regardless of what you may think."

"It is not your 'hope' I question, but the falsity of it."

She rolled her eyes.

"Then don't think of it that way. Like I said earlier, it's more of an opportunity for hope than anything."

She sighed realizing the difficulty of explaining something seemingly childish to someone who relies on practicality.
