Chapter 37
The show began to start.
On the sides waiting for their queue were Eso, Junpei and Tanso, they hid in the shadows of the stage but would be performing along side Suiryu. It started off with the story of one Kiju Itami, a promising track and field star who opted to join the occult club when he reached middle school. He was a strong and powerful teenager who held his friends close to him. When his grandfather passed another confronted him. Suiryu nearly mimicked Yuuji's voice perfectly, but also kept it a little deeper so no one would suspect him later on when he is back out in public.
"Wait, is that me?" Fushiguro muttered.
The singer they used was pretty damn close to his own look.
But the song he belted out, made everyone pause.
"Do you know what you have…
Are you insane?
That object isn't for a mere game!
It's a cursed object.
You're a bigger fool than it seems

It was a short but powerful song.
And moment for moment it pegged what happened next. When it got to the point when the finger was consumed. Suiryu began to show the world Ryomen Sukuna.
'Living flesh once more
Oh how I adore
This world for the taking

The songs were short and yet powerful. But Yuuji began to feel something oddly familiar about them.
Gojo loved the fact that he was in the opera as well, and the character was rather fitting. He didn't look exactly like him but the personality was perfect.
The song was more playful as he circled around Suiryu.

The curse object you ate
Has now become part of you!

'Sukuna' came out. They did a fantastic choreograph mock battle. Yet all the while the Gojo actor kept up with his song.

At the same time Sukuna sung in between his song.

Suiryu jolted as his marks vanished.
From that moment they played off the events with a few songs in between.
Everyone had to admit though their favourite one happened to be between Suiryu and the actor playing Gojo sensei.
Shortly after the correctional facility incident when Sukuna ripped out Yuuji's heart, it's what happened afterwards and how he was being trained on curse energy. For the play, they did a rap about it.
"It appears to be
You have no idea as to curse energy
Take a moment, let me explain
From this moment on, what you have gained."
He leaned over to the audience to sing.
"You don't know it yet
But it's all true
Since you ate the fingers
Sukuna's energy is going to become part of you.

He turned back to Suiryu and the rap took off from there.
"Listen here, it's easy to explain

Everyone giggled as Suiryu went for a drink but was careful to put them back.
"Now let's continue, watch close now

Suiryu had an intense look in his eyes as he saw one can explode and the other twist.
"I see, I see… I don't get it"
"PPPPPFFFFFF! He nailed that!" Gojo sensei laughed. "You remember, right Itadori?"
He smiled for a moment, of course he does!
The opera went on as the Gojo actor continued.
"It's okay, I get that it's a little strange
But not to worry, I'll be sure you understand and make you a proper mage!

Suiryu then sung.

The Gojo actor snickered.

"That's easy, and I am going to train you hard.
When this is all said and done, you and me are going to spar.

He was handed a stack of DVDs.

These here are movies
I want you to watch them all

He was given a bear with boxing gloves on it. Suiryu stared at the audience like 'He is for real' kind of look, that got everyone laughing aloud.

Suiryu pretended he was struck! He flipped backwards and landed on his face as if he were punched really hard! It made everyone jump until he recovered and stared at the bear. "What the hell!" he demanded.
The Gojo actor snickered.
"This here, is a curse doll
He appears to be asleep
But this is what happens when your focus falls.

Suiryu sighed.

When Gojo left, Suiryu turned to the crowd once more. "I still don't get it," he said to them… only to get punched by the doll again. Ending the scene!

The story progressed. And was starting to get more exciting too.
Eso and Junpei even go in on the act as they played… pretty much themselves in a sense. When Yuuji and Nobara were confronted by them, back at the bridge job they were sent to do. Eso and Junpei sung a song together called. 'So cold' originally played by Static X. But it worked perfectly with their story. Eso sung the lighter parts, the heavier parts were Junpei… and man he made himself look more horrific for the role!
His mouth was oozing blood. His body slightly more contorted as the color from his face spread throughout the body!
Yet as the story progressed, Yuuji couldn't shake the feeling anymore that these songs were VERY familiar to him.
The one that really stuck out was the song called 'Shut up'
Suiryu transfigured the side of his face, revealing the mouth Sukuna usually made when he wanted to speak and tease him.
"I thought I told you before, I don't want to hear it
Now you're here, I'm telling you to beat it!"
Then the Sukuna side sung.
"Hehe, don't you see…
Everything getting worst since you ate me!"

If it wasn't for you

"Wait…" Yuuji muttered. He knows now why these songs are familiar. He wrote them all in his journal!
"Itadori, you okay?" asked Nobara.
"He took my journal!" he protested. "Suiryu… took my journal to make his lyrics!"
Suddenly the whole room paused and turned to him. "You're… journal… so these are your thoughts?" asked Todo.
He nodded meekly. "I… wrote down a lot of things." He muttered lowly. But didn't want to speak anymore of it.
As the performance continued, the songs got darker, deeper and haunting.
The one that Yuuji resonated with was the song called. 'Hold on'
He remembered that entry well, it was from the Shibuya incident, and it was his journey to reach the front lines to help save Gojo and the people trapped within from curses.
"Hold on, hold on
Just a moment more
I'm coming now

There were flashes of black and white light, indicating a fight. Suiryu then appeared bloodied and was knocked out sitting in the middle of the stage, until people in robes appeared.
"Is that him? The vessel we seek?
Quick bring out the wares

Let's see if we bring back the king

"YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
There appeared a curse, a ragged looking one but didn't look like Jojo, it didn't matter though as the two who were feeding him merely moved off to the side and hid.
The curse then peered down.
"He's out cold,
But that's okay
He doesn't need to be awake anyway
Come now Sukuna,
It's time for you to wake

Finger after finger vanished into him, until Sukuna finally woke.
The world saw how merciless he was, as the two who fed him earlier were killed with the wave of his hand, but they merely vanished into smoke. But now, it left the curse.

You dare to ask

And not yours, a curse with no class!
I will make you a deal though
It's rather simple you see

The effects they used… was the best illusion jujutsu anyone had ever seen. The mock battle was intense and petrifying to say the least.
It made them appear they were flying in mid air… which they were. But then the song picked up again.
The curse summoned his strongest attack, and threw it as people were caught below.
"Get out of the way
Quickly we got to move
We get in the way
It will be our doom!
No time to fight
Not time to bicker
Get going or…"
"I'll just kill you quicker"
'Sukuna' appeared before them.
"This is rather fun
But it can be better you see
Don't move from this spot
Unless the order comes from me.

He paused as the attack came closer. The actors gave their best panicked looks.
"It's getting closer now
Perhaps it's time.
Now let's see how you do.

The stage went black.
The curse then appeared, as he looked relieved. "I must have gotten him that time…"
"Only if it hit…"
The curse was defeated, but then what happened next made Yuuji turn away.
"This was your plan
Now I see
You wanted to save all those humans
But you won't save them from me!
Take a good look boy,
This is what awaits

It was all too fresh in his mind for him, as Sukuna erased the city in a single strike.
No one in the room moved as Suiryu became the main character once more. His eyes focused on the devastation before him. He screamed a haunting. "NNNNNOOOOOOO!" to the audience before collapsing to his knees before the devastation.
"I… was too late…
No… I was on time.
But I never thought the attack I wanted to stop
Would be mine.
How… did this happen
How could I let him out?
How can I face myself.
All this life has been snuffed out.
I know now… I have to die.
For the longer I live
This evil will survive.
I can't think of that now
There is still a job to do
