Longer one today!

"This is horrific" Ron murmured to Harry as they were stood in front of a huge glass case of jewellery

"I didn't realise there was such a choice" Harry whispered in reply

"Or so expensive" Ron sighed. A few days before Valentine's Day they had made their excuses and walked out to the gates. Neither of them was overly discreet and Harry was certain they both knew what they were doing. After some deliberation on the way down they decided to apparate to London and head into Diagon Alley where they knew there were at least a few shops that would sell something the girls would like but with Ginny not being the flashy jewellery type apart from the ring and earrings he had got her and Hermione not liking wearing rings as they impeded her reading they were slightly stuck.

"Hey this is my first valentines with a girl you had Lavender," Harry said after more analysis of the massive case

"Excuse me, you had one too. Before me actually"

"Yes well hopefully this won't end with Ginny sobbing and me looking like a lemon" Ron was about to respond when they were interrupted by a peppy witch wearing exceptionally bright clothes and a luminous green witches hat.

"Hello guys, how can I help?" She said obviously unaware of their inner turmoil

"Uh we need to get something for our girlfriends but they aren't well-" Ron began

"They like jewellery but it has to be specific. My girlfriend doesn't like anything flashy" Harry continued

"And mine doesn't like wearing rings because they get in the way as she reads" Ron finished and looked hopefully at them.

"Well, what are their opinions on sentimental stuff?"

"Love it," They both said at the same time

"Bracelets and necklaces?" When she saw both boys nod she beckoned them over to a secondary glass case.

"We make charm bracelets and charm necklaces. Tell us some of the stuff they like and we'll make some charms for either a bracelet or a necklace. It's also a bit cheaper than some of the jewellery in that one." She gestured to the box where they were stood

"Thanks can you give us a second" Ron called and waited until she went over to some other flustered boyfriends then turned to Harry

"I'm gonna get 'Mione a necklace, no chance of that getting I the way of her reading, what are you going to get?"

"I think I'll get a necklace for Gin," Harry replied.

They called the bubbly witch back over and she firstly started on Harry

"Right what's your name" Harry, not having heard that for a while, stuttered slightly then said

"Oh uh Harry Potter'' and pushed his fringe out of the way to reveal his scar. She spluttered for a few seconds then maintaining an outward appearance of calm

"Uh Right Mr Potter what would you like?"

"A bracelet please"

"Right, okay! Now, what does your girlfriend like?"

"Well she loves Quidditch, She's a Chaser, and she's good at Charms. Likes the snow and has a bit of a mischievous side. Families important to her and she's incredibly adept at the Bat bogey hex"

The witch was nodding and summoning various bits of silver. She was waving her wand over them and muttering and after around five minutes she gave her wand a final swish and they adhered to a simple silver chain.

"Here you go Mr Potter.7 charms. It will mould to her wrist the first time she puts it on" She summoned a small blue box and levitated the bracelet in gently. She then thrust it towards him with a wide smile. Harry began to look at the charms as Ron's was being done and he couldn't help but notice how perfect it was. There was a tiny metal quaffle with minute stitching, A broomstick with individual sticks on the end, A snowflake that shimmered and felt cold to the touch, A heart that felt slightly warm, A tiny wand with sparks coming out of it, a fluttering bat and in the centre of the bracelet was a shining silver lightning bolt. He closed the box with a snap and leant over to see Ron's purchase.

"Looks good doesn't it," Ron said with a smile as he looked at it. Attached to a silver chain necklace was five charms. There was a book with a small quill, a heart that seemed to beat intermittently, A wand that emitted sparks, A sword and a tiny teacup. The book was in the centre and Ron explained each one

"Well the hearts cuz I love her, The sword because she's brave, The wand because well she's 'mione, The book because it wouldn't be Hermione without her books and the teacup because when I asked her out properly we were drinking Tea"

"She is going to love it mate"

After getting a serious discount on the jewellery and promising to tell people where they got them from they began to walk out discussing the restaurants they were taking their partners to, not noticing the peculiarly marked beetle on the wall.

The next evening the duo were once again finding themselves nervously fidgeting at the bottom of the stairs after Ron was thrown out of his own room to get dressed with Harry. Both were going to Muggle places (After Harry had given Ron a serious run down on Muggle money and clothing) so they were both wearing muggle button-downs. Harry was wearing a mint button-down, black jeans and a black blazer and Ron was wearing a black button-down with dark blue jeans and a blue blazer. In reality, they hadn't intended to match but Harry thought they looked decent enough. Soon Hermione was descending the stairs in a mulberry coloured flowing dress and kitten heels. Her cardigan was a dark red and was loosely draped over her shoulders. They said their goodbyes and took off to the little restaurant in London they had found on a dedicated trip to discover decent date night places.

Ginny came down a minute after they left and Harry couldn't help but gawp. She was wearing a dark green blouse, a black leather jacket, some black skinny jeans and some pointed black boots.

"You look gorgeous" Was all Harry could manage before kissing her softly when they parted she shot back

"You don't look too bad yourself" Harry took her hand and after some playful bickering, they were at the gates.

"Harry, where are we going?"

"Oh, somewhere I think you'll like" Was all he said before grabbing her hand more firmly and apparating away. They appeared in a dark alley with rubbish covering most of the available space

"Well Potter I must say it is romantic" Ginny stated sarcastically, nudging a full bag with her toe

"Well Weasley we're in a Muggle town so I didn't want to just appear on the side of the road"

"Muggle?"

"Well, I didn't want anyone recognising us and ruining the evening" Ginny nodded in recognition and they stepped out onto an old looking road. She could see the river just over the road and it looked beautiful under the starlight but Harry drew her attention to the sign.

"Bistrot Pierre?" Ginny read out loud

"Yep! It's French food. You'll love it" They walked into the full restaurant and were immediately led to a window seat where you could look over the river. They both sat down and after being given menus they were left to their own devices.

"So where are we?"

"This is a Muggle town in the midlands. I came here on a school trip because of a muggle playwright called Shakespeare"

"Oh, you mean the squib? Hermione has a load of the plays"

"Shakespeare was a squib?"

"Yeah Juliet drinks draught of living death" Harry sat there quiet for a second then went

"Would never have guessed that" Ginny giggled and while she was distracted with the menu Harry discreetly pulled the shrunken blue box out of his pocket and tapped it with his wand. Once he was satisfied it was the correct size he placed it on the table and waited for her to lookup

"I think I'm going to have the chicken, what about you-Is this for me?" Ginny began before getting distracted by the small box.

"Well yes, Open it" Harry nudged it with his finger and she grasped it with both hands and opened it gingerly.

"Oh Harry it's beautiful" Ginny exclaimed "Put it on me!" Harry obliged and watched as it shrunk to his girlfriend's wrist. His girlfriend admired it for a second then she dove at him whispering

"I love it".

They spent the rest of the evening talking and eating then they went for a moonlit walk along the river. When Ginny started to complain her feet hurt then he lifted her up and kissed her until they apparated away, disappearing from plain sight.

The next morning there was hushed and hurried whispering as Harry and Ginny walked into the Great Hall on Saturday morning and instantly Harry groaned and turned to Ginny who immediately went

"What?"

"Somethings happened in the papers" He gestured to people pouring over the daily prophet

"And I'll have three guesses for who it involves based on how Hermione and Ron are acting" He then gestured over to an embarrassed looking Ron and Hermione they walked towards them and Hermione dove over the papers strewn across the table.

"What's going on?" Harry asked curiously

"Um well guys-Ah" Ron stammered

"Oh for Merlin's sake Ron give it here," Ginny said as she lunged for the paper. Ron tried to block them but Ginny was too fast.

"Some keeper" Ginny scoffed but was quickly cut off by her own gasp. Harry thoroughly worried looked at the front page and groaned again

The Saviours Romance

Last night Saviour of the Wizarding World Harry Potter took his most recent flame, Ginevra Weasley, To a French restaurant in a muggle town. After a long dinner, they went for a midnight walk. But the real question is, how long will this last as this is hardly the first love affair of Mr Potter having been exceptionally close to Hermione Granger, one-third of the golden trio, during the Triwizard Tournament. A source has informed me that the relationship was so unstable in his sixth year that they have already separated once. But if this relationship truly is to stand then when will wedding bells ring? Could Harry Potter bring a child into a world he has already suffered so much in?

Read more on page three

Below the article was two pictures from last night. One as they were eating and talking and Ginny's foot was travelling up his trouser leg and the second was when Ginny complained that her feet were sore and he lifted her up so her legs were wrapped around his waist and they were kissing passionately. Harry flipped to page three to see more analysis on where it could go, whether Ginny was a gold digger and whether He was cheating on her with Hermione. Hermione still looked slightly embarrassed and Ron looked angry but nothing compared to Ginny's face when he finally got the courage to look up. She looked completely mortified.

"Gin-I" Before he could finish she took off out of the Great Hall. Abandoning the newspaper Harry took off after her, slipping slightly on the floors.

Having not seen where she had gone he took off towards the Common room because if she hadn't gone there at least he could get hold of the map.

"Curse Skeeter, Curse being the bloody boy who lived and Curse this bloody gossip mill!" Harry muttered under his breath. Thanks to it still being breakfast and a few secret passageways he'd memorised he was up in Gryffindor tower rather quickly. He gave the fat lady the password and burst in to find the common room absent. He then gave the password to the lion portrait and once again found himself in an empty common room. Cursing loudly he stormed up the stairs to the rooms but ground to a halt just before he could fling open the door. Sounds of crying were emanating through the door and Harry's early felt like it was ripped in two. He knocked softly on the door and said into it

"Gin it's me can I come in?" After hearing an affirmative sounding yes he walked in to see Ginny sobbing over his picture album where she had been sticking in pictures from last night. Harry reached her in two strides and wrapped her in his arms. She continued to sob into him for a while until her sobs quieted to sniffles. Harry took a deep breath and asked the question he had been dreading since they got back together

"Gin? Do you want to break up with me?" Ginny gave a hollow laugh and responded croakily

"Don't be a prat Potter" Some more tears leaked out "Why would I break up with you because of one newspaper article. A lot worse has been written about you"

"Then why-"

"Am I so upset? Because it was a shock and I don't like being called a gold-digging whore surprisingly" Ginny sighed into his chest and murmured

"But I wouldn't give you up for anything" Blushing slightly Harry replied

"You know this is only the beginning right I mean when we get married-"

"When?" Ginny asked amusedly. Harry blushed even deeper

"I mean rumours are going to follow us and I don't want you to lose any prospects because of well me so if you want to-"

"Harry for the last time! I love you! If that means in ten years we still have to tell people that Teddy's not yours and Hermione's love child then I don't care because I'll have you. And besides, It means the years I spent honing my hexing skills on my brothers don't go to waste. Even it is until we're old and grey." Harry spun her around and looked directly into her eyes

"Even when I have to use a stick to get around?"

"Then we can have matching ones"

"For Eternity?"Harry asked smugly

"And a day" Ginny replied resolutely slamming the album shut.

Happy May 2nd.I contemplated splitting this over two chapters but I think one long one works well enough. I think I'm going to only have one or two more chapters for spring term then Easter break because just like real life not a lot interesting happens in the UK spring term.
