Kagome sputtered in surprise. Asleep for a day and a half?! No wonder she felt so rested! Then again, after everything she had endured when she first woke up in this world, it was no surprise. A Chinese feudal era… What were the odds that something like that would happen?
"I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this…" Kagome said, sighing. "Mei-Ling, what happened to my clothes? And the jewel I had?"
The servant woman smiled and laid the towel aside before helping Kagome stand in the basin, all while draping the silver robe around her shoulders. "Oh, I had your… interesting clothing washed. I tucked it away in the drawer of the guest bedroom. Along with your other possessions, my lady."
That relieved her, but she wasn't entirely comfortable that the Sacred Jewel was by itself. Although its powers had vanished, there was always a chance it might spring to life and draw unnecessary attention. "I see. Thank you."
From there, she allowed the girl to assist her out of the pool, the beautiful and shimmering robe clinging to her figure. The length fell just above her knees, and glancing closely, she realized the scratches and scuffs had vanished. Even her arms were void of injury. Soft skin remained, and it was complimented by a perfumed scent of roses.
Mei-Ling led her through an archway of beaded curtains until she found herself in another room. The guest bedroom. Much like the bathing area, this place was also spacious and luxurious. Gold and silver shined from the various objects which decorated the room, from threaded tapestries of scenic environments to shimmering vases of orchids and peonies.
A beautiful balcony hidden behind a double glass door stood just across the way, behind the canopy bed, and as Mei-Ling guided her in that direction, she soon paused before a mirrored vanity and sat down on the cushioned stool. Soon enough, Mei-Ling combed her hair with gentle strokes, and a soothing melody filled the room.
