Notes: very interesting info… there is no official height given for katara in any form of media. And since My hero has heights for every character, some people sent me pm's questioning how she compares to everyone else. So going by how she was compared to others in the show, I have decided to put her at around 164 cm. (5'4 1/2")
as a hint for mental reference, here's a few people.
Ashido: 159 cm (5'3")
Midoriya: 166 cm (5'5 1/2")
Yaoyorozu: 173 cm (5'8")
Todoroki: 176 cm (5'9 1/2")
Iida: 179 cm (5'10 1/2")
Why I had to show you all that? Meh, because I can… Enjoy!
Making her way towards her class, Katara couldn't help but smile at the answer she received. Being able to train her healing was something she always wanted to improve on, especially if it could be from someone like Recovery Girl.
"I mean her quirk is different than my bending," She chuckled to herself as she approached the door. "but I bet she has so many things I can learn from. If I can even get close to healing bones like she can, that would be amazing."
But that would have to wait until tomorrow. For now, she had to get back to her class mentality, something she still had trouble even staying up in. sliding the door open, she was met with the faces she had grown familiar with already chatting up how their weeks went. Looking up, a few of them smiled at the newcomer.
"Hey Katara! There you are!" Mina yelled out in excitement and ran up to her. "I can't believe what happened!"
"Huh?" Katara tilted her head in confusion. "What happened?"
"Uhh, coming across the hero killer, duh!" Mina threw her arms up in amazement. "He's been all over the news!"
"Oh, yeah…" Katara chuckled and rubbed her arm. "Yeah, that was pretty crazy."
From Behind, Tokoyami approached the pair of girls. "We were talking to Iida and Todoroki about it earlier. It is extraordinary you all faced him that night."
Katara nodded to her bird headed friend and sighed. "It was pretty intense, but it's good we weren't hurt too seriously that night."
Tokoyami gave a sigh out in relief, happy to hear the news. "Well I am happy you were not too injured. It was fortunate that Endeavor was there to stop him."
Katara groaned internally, knowing she had to go with that lie for the public. "Yeah, it was fortunate. After we got out of there he showed up and stopped him."
Tokoyami gave a small nod in agreement. "That is the reason he is the number two hero."
Wanting to change the subject, Katara gave a small exhale and smiled. "Well, you already heard about what we did. How about you?"
Mina grinned and cupped her hands behind her head. "It was pretty sweet actually. Gunhead was constantly making us do combat drills so I've gotten even better than last time."
Katara smirked and crossed her arms. "Oh? How about another training match then?"
"Hehehe. Bring it on." Mina returned the smirk at the waterbender, only earning a grunt from Tokoyami.
"You two haven't changed since the entrance exams." he sighed out thinking of his own week. "It is good you both had good training. Mine was more basic, simply going out on patrols everyday. Perhaps I chose the wrong location to go to."
Katara gave a solemn smile up to him. "Well it's only one week, so you don't have to worry about it any more."
He gave a grunt in response. "I suppose you are correct. At least we can focus back on training now."
Over the next few minutes, other students entered into class and went on discussing their week. Of course, most made their way to the back of the room where Katara, Tenya and Todoroki were, all excited and shocked about what they heard about Stain. After repeating the story three times in that short time, Katara was growing annoyed, Especially since she had to lie about who saved him.
'I actually have to keep praising Endeavor…' She groaned internally, noticing Shoto trying to avoid talking as well. She looked over at him staring at his desk, probably sickened he had to give praise to someone not even there during the fight. Tenya was also frowning internally, wanting to give the one who really saved them credit.
'Sorry Katara…' He whispered inside, 'But we made a deal with the chief. This is for our own good.'
"Katara!"
A familiar voice yelled out from the front of the class, causing Katara to turn and smile. "Hey, Yaoyorozu. How was your week?"
Momo walked up with a smile of her own. "It was really good, actually. I learned so much from Edgeshot. I am so glad I ended up going there. But we can talk about that later, what about what you did?!"
Katara groaned and rubbed her head. "Yeah, that night with Stain was really intense."
"Well I really am glad you are okay, but I actually wanted to talk to you about what happened the day after." Momo clapped her hands in amazement to what she saw in the papers. "I can't believe you actually helped deliver a baby, that is so amazing!"
Mina's eyes shot open when she heard that. "Wait… what?!"
Jiro along with a few others turned in shock at the sudden revelation as well. "Are you being serious? How the hell did you do that?"
"Uhh…" Katara blushed slightly and chuckled, almost forgetting she had done that. "It just… happened I guess."
"Just happened? How is that something you just do? That's crazy!" Kaminari rubbed his head in amazement.
Tenya now had a large smile, his arm chopping rapidly as he could finally give her praise. "Of course! Katara is truly spectacular and showed great courage helping that woman!"
"Is this true?" Shoji asked as he approached Shoto.
Giving a small nod, Shoto looked up as Katara was talking to a few others, a small smile forming on his face. "Yes. I was there when it happened. It was incredible."
Now the students who didn't know that story began chatting about that, circling the waterbender in awe. Tokoyami sat in shock at the news, not hearing about this until now. "When did this happen?"
"I read in the papers the story about it two days after that night in. I was so shocked at what I saw." Momo answered.
"Who reads newspaper anymore? Ribbit." Tsu croaked out in curiosity, earning a chuckle from the creationist.
"They have an online page, just so you know." Momo said before turning back to Katara. "But yes, you will have to tell me about what happened later after class."
"Yeah, definitely." Katara answered with a nod. "I want to hear about your week, too."
"Of course. We can catch up during lunch." Momo offered just as the first bell rang, signaling class was about to start. As she turned to head back to her side of the room, her eyes widened when a certain green haired boy entered class. Immediately she felt a smile form on her face, something she had come to realize happened a lot when she thought about him. It made her feel good when he saw her and smiled as well.
"Oh, Yaoyorozu, g-good morning!" He said happily.
"Good morning Midoriya. How are you feeling this morning?" She asked as she approached, the pair now walking towards their desks.
"A lot better, thanks. S-so, how was your week?"
"It was actually really good. There was a lot that happened and…" Momo paused as her eyes wandered over to Bakugo in his desk, his scowl locked onto her as she approached. Immediately her mind replayed what he said to her that night, causing her face to burn up.
Midoriya saw her face turning red and grew worried. "Ah, a-are you okay? Are you feeling warm?!"
She almost wanted to laugh at the question since she was burning up… just not because of what he thought. "I'm fine! Just…. Need to sit!" Momo quickly walked away and sat down at her desk, taking a breath to calm herself. Midoriya slowly made his way to his seat and slipped his backpack off.
"W-well hope you feel better." He responded, curious before looking forward again. Momo however scolded herself and frowned.
'Wow, now I am the one unable to think straight.' She hissed internally, looking up to him and sighing to herself. She then thought of Bakugo's words again, leaning on her hand and pondering over what she was thinking. 'Being honest with myself. So what do I really feel?'
"Deku!"
Midoriya turned back at his name and blushed as Uraraka bounded her way right over to his desk. "Oh, U-Uraraka! Hi!"
"I am so glad you are feeling better after what happened! Here!" Uraraka opened her bag up and pulled out an envelope and handed it to him. "It was a get well card I made. I couldn't get it in time at the hospital, but I hope you still appreciate it!"
"Oh…" Midoriya grabbed the card, looking up to the burnette's large smile looking down at him. "Th-thanks! I do appreciate it!"
Uraraka's smile grew even bigger as she giggled. "You're welcome! I'm glad you're okay!" She quickly said before heading back to her side of the room, leaving Midoriya swallowing the lump in his throat… and Momo nearly snapping the pencil in her grip.
'What… was that?' Momo questioned herself, not only to their interaction… but her own reaction to it.
Unbeknownst to all of them, Bakugo sat there with his eye twitching in annoyance and shock. 'What the hell is this shit?! What is it with this loser and attracting girls?! Now I have to sit and listen to all of them babble?!"
Once class got going, Aizawa went on giving one of his usual lectures to all of them. Luckily for all the students, he was only at it for forty minutes before he announced they were to go and get ready for another hero training exercise.
"You can all go and change into your hero outfits now. All Might will be waiting for you at the Ground Gamma training facility." He said to everyone.
"Ah yeah, training with All Might again!" Kirishima yelled in excitement.
"It's always awesome to work with him. Ribbit." Tsu chimed in.
Midoriya lit up internally, unable to contain his excitement at showing All Might what he could do now. 'I haven't told him that I can use full cowling now. He will be so shocked!'
As everyone began getting up from their seats, Aizawa made one more announcement. "Before you leave, I need Midoriya, Todoroki, Iida and Katara for a word in private."
"What?" Katara asked in confusion. "Why?"
Shoto gave a small sigh. "Perhaps he is to scold us for our involvement with Stain."
"Ooooh, someone's in trouble…" Kaminari teased, quickly followed by Jiro's earphone jack piercing his ear.
Tenya looked down in guilt, seeing his actions had caused lasting problems for everyone. As the class left the four students alone, they all approached their teachers desk. Midoriya swallowed the lump in his throat, already sweating to what there teacher was going to say to them. But Tenya was the first to speak up.
"Sensei, please allow me to accept the blame for what happened. I was the cause for all of them to-
"Be quiet. And don't worry, all of you will be receiving extra work for doing something so stupid." Aizawa grunted out. "However, I didn't call you here for that. I told you to stay since you all know something about your friend here."
Katara felt her heart jump as he locked his gaze onto her, causing the others to turn her direction. Frowning, She looked down at her feet. "They know now, yes."
"So much for keeping it a secret." Aizawa sighed. "The chief called me and told me the news."
Tenya glared and stepped forward. "Sir, Katara revealed the truth to us because she trusts us. Her secret is safe with us. We will not tell anyone else the truth to where she comes from."
"Yeah, I swear I won't!" Midoriya nodded in agreement.
Aizawa looked up to Todoroki next. "And you?"
"Katara has done more than enough to earn my trust. I won't be giving up her secret." Shoto answered.
Katara felt happy they were all willing to help her, but worried it could cause them trouble. "I couldn't lie to them, sir. They saw… a bending ability that was-
"I know…" Aizawa's gaze narrowed at the teen. "You can control others with your power."
Taking a sharp breath, Katara watched as her teacher stood up. "I was told what you were able to do. While the truth to that night is supposed to be kept to what is reported, the chief figured I should know. When you ripped the water from those vines during the festival, I had a strange feeling you could apply your bending to other things than basic water or ice. It seems I was correct and you were hiding more from me."
Before Katara could respond, Shoto was the one who stepped forward. "Katara saved our lives with what she did. If you are going to punish her for that, that is-
"I never said I was going to do that." Aizawa grunted and scratched his head. "I'm just curious to how many other things you haven't told us yet."
Frowning, Katara shook her head and looked back to him. "I never mentioned this because it's something I hoped to never do. I don't like that ability and what it can do to someone, but had no choice to use it. And no… I don't have anything else. That is my final technique."
"Not liking your power…" Aizawa groaned in annoyance to that statement. "You really do have a lot to learn."
She tilted her head in confusion to his words."What?"
"You try and avoid using a power because it may seem 'Bad'. How a power is used determines if it is bad or not." Aizawa said as he sat back down. "Couldn't my power be considered evil? I can take away another's quirk, and yet I use it how I want to help others. Is there any reason why you can't do that for yourself?"
Katara sat opened mouth in shock to his words. She had expected him to be criticizing her as well for using something like that, but instead… encouraged her.
Sighing out, Aizawa went into his desk and pulled out stacks of homework he had to work on. "Now that we got that in the clear, I advise you to keep the number of people who know to a minimum. The more who know, the easier it is to get to the public. Now get to your next class."
While the trio of boys gave a quick thank you and left, Katara stared for a few more moments before she left after them. She walked silently in disbelief to his statement. He wasn't concerned by her power, but instead was telling her to use it. To work on her bloodbending to use for good. She still felt her skin crawl at the thought of it, the power that could do whatever she wanted to anyone. It wasn't something she wanted to do.
Still… she couldn't help but smile to herself. 'Maybe I am being too stubborn about this. Maybe if used right… I can help more than I ever could before with that power.'
After getting changed and giving a quick answer to the others, Katara met up with everyone outside the large industrial style training grounds. The students were then greeted by the number one hero jumping down in front of them, his massive grin present once again.
"Ah hahaha! Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wondrous week!" All Might announced to the class in front of him. "We have a special treat for you all! Today we will have a rescue training race!"
"A what?" Everyone in class A asked together.
"That's right! I will be a helpless civilian at the center of this complex. Your jobs will be to get to me and rescue me! And to make it interesting, you will be competing against one another!"
"Another race?" Katara chuckled as she tightened her canteen onto her side.
"Sweet! I'm always down for a challenge!" Mina cheered.
"We will have you go in groups of five, so four races will be done! You will each start at a different location and make your way to the center. And the first contestants will be…" All Might dug his hand into a box and pulled out five pieces of paper. "Shoji. Kaminari. Katara. Yaoyorozu… and Bakugo!"
"A race against them? How am I supposed to do that?!" Kaminari whined out.
Both Momo and Bakugo immediately glared at each other, annoyed even now they somehow ended up paired together. Sighing, she turned to Katara and smiled. "Well it looks like we will be against one another."
"Yeah. Try and keep up, okay?" Katara teased, earning a smirk from the creationist.
"Let's see who's keeping up after this. Hope your new costume doesn't slow you down."
"Now if you five can head down to your starting positions, I will be waiting for rescue!" All Might announced before leaping into the sky and into the middle of the zone.
After a few minutes, the five contestants had made it to their spots, the others standing in front of a large screen to watch the race unfold.
"Alright, time to watch Bakugo take this one!" Kirishima yelled out.
"Hell no, Katara has got this thing down!" Mina responded.
"I don't know. Yaoyorozu is pretty damn good, too." Jiro added.
"No doubt in my mind! Katara will win this race!" Tenya announced between chops.
Midoriya looked between the five combatants on the screen, unsure of the outcome. "It's true. Yaoyorozu and Katara are very talented and versatile… But Kachaan is not one to lose easy. He is extremely fast."
Tokoyami knew Bakugo had the best chance, but he hoped to see Katara victorious. "If She had more water, I believe Katara would win with little difficulty. However, this may be challenging for her."
"She will still win." Shoto said out loud, staring intently as Katara adjusted her gauntlets. He clenched his fists, knowing she had what it took. "There is nothing she can't do."
Tokoyami stared at him for a moment, surprised by the comment compared to how he used to talk to Katara. Smirking, he turned and looked back at the screen. "Good luck Katara."
Taking a deep breath, Katara braced herself and readied her body, unsealing her canteen and looking out to the industrial site and grinned. "Let's do this."
"Ready… GO!"
Leaping out, Katara landed on top of a long running gas main and skidded across the top with her water. Momo had opted to stay on the roof tops, vaulting herself over to the next with poles she created before sprinting forward. Bakugo immediately burst forward and launched himself from building to building on his side, kicking off every time to give an extra push to his blasts. While those three rushed forward…. Shoji and Kaminari could only run onto whatever they could.
"This sucks!" Kaminari cried out in frustration trying to balance on top of a skinny rail.
"I'll admit I'm not enjoying this as much as them either." Shoji groaned as he climbed on the face of a building to the other side, barely able to see where the others were now.
Bakugo jumped off another rooftop, blasting himself forward before flipping and kicking off an AC unit and rocketing forward again. He looked to the side and saw Momo keeping up with his pace, gritting his teeth and increasing the size of his blasts. "No way you're catching up, ponytail!" he yelled out and launched up and over a sign.
Katara jumped off her own roof, shooting a stream of water out and latching onto handrail above and yanked herself over the top of another building. Before she touched ground she formed a stream of ice and skated across another drop off. As she landed on a walkway and sprinted, she yelped in surprise as a cable with a spear tip shot passed her and latched into a building face. She looked back and watched as Momo swung through the air beside her, the grappling hook retracting and yanking her up to the next structure.
"Sorry Katara, but I can't let you win that easy." Momo grinned as she pulled herself up and continued on.
"Not bad." Katara grinned herself and shot her water up, latching onto the building face and whipping herself down and onto a lower platform. Eventually the waterbender caught up to her friend, skimming across an opening with ice she formed and running onward. While she was making progress, Momo couldn't create the grappling hooks as fast as she could bend, leaving her behind as she approached the final stretch.
"That first place is mine!"
Katara looked over as she ran, scowling as she saw Bakugo blasting and flipping his way over the obstacles and on towards All Might standing there waving at them. She sprinted faster, running and hurtling over the pipes in her way as she approached the end of the final rooftop. She saw the massive gap and gritted her teeth, launching her water forward and forming an ice walkway as far as she could. Bakugo growled and kicked off one last time, launching himself up and blasting across the sky to the finish spot. Katara ran across the ice and leaped into the air, but she was only halfway across the opening.
"I got this, hair loops!" Bakugo jeered as he saw she would be short, and with no water to spare. He looked back and expected to see her fall, but instead of panic, Katara only smiled and flicked the switches on her gauntlets.
The compartments flipped open, and out shot two thin streams of water that latched onto the hand rails in front of both of them. Yanking herself forward, Katara whipped up into the air ahead of the wide eyed Bakugo, landing on the roof top before anyone else.
"We have ourselves a winner!" All Might cheered out to the first to arrive. Great job Katara! That was excellent racing!"
"Thanks, sir…" She huffed out between pants.
Landing with a thud, Bakugo stomped over and bared his teeth at the waterbender. "That was bullshit! Where the hell did you get more water from?!"
Katara rolled her eyes and placed a hand on her hip. "I had it the whole time in my gloves."
"That's some shit right there! Rematch, right now! Let's go!" Bakugo stomped over and over in anger, only earning a scoff from the newcomer on the rooftop.
"You need to remember your lessons on composure, Bakugo." Momo scolded him as she walked by, only making his face burn even hotter in anger.
"I've had enough of hearing that shit, ponytail! We aren't at internships anymore!"
Katara raised her eyebrow in confusion. "Wait, what did he say?"
Momo shook her head. "I have a lot to tell you about my week."
"Holy shit, that was a sweet move there!" Mina shouted as the first group came back to the waiting area.
"Yeah, you did really good out there." Tsu chimed in.
"Yeah… you did a lot better than short circuit." Jiro teased the fuming Kaminari.
"How is electricity gonna help me in a speed race?!" he whined out.
"It just shows you should improve on other things…" Shoji sighed as he walked by, nodding to the winner. "Congrats Katara, nice win."
"Thanks…" Katara answered as others congratulated her. She looked up and laughed as Tenya approached, smiling and swinging his arms in glee.
"Excellent race, Katara! I had the utmost faith in your victory!" Tenya ecstatically cheered for her.
"I know you did." She giggled and patted his shoulder, looking over as Yaoyorozu approached. "Hey that was a good match."
"Thanks, but that was really amazing in the end. When did you get those?" Momo questioned as she looked down at the gauntlets.
"Oh these? When they made my new outfit they added this in too. This is the first time I used it actually."
"Wow, that was really cool, Katara!" Midoriya said as he approached. "I haven't seen that move yet! That was a really good race. You did great too, Yaoyorozu. That was amazing with the grappling hook you used towards the end."
Momo smiled and nodded to him. "Thank you. I was hoping to be as fast, but looks like Katara beat me again."
"You still did really well. I hope I can be as fast as that when I go."
"The next group will be Iida, Ojiro, Sero, Ashido, and Midoriya!"
"Oh… I guess I go now." Midoriya laughed and rubbed his head. "I should get going now."
"Good luck out there." Katara said to him.
"Yeah… good luck, Midoriya. Go and win this." Momo smiled at him, making his own smile grow.
"I will!"
As he walked away with the others to their race, Katara turned and saw Shoto approaching next. "That was a great race. Congratulations on winning." He said to her.
She smiled at his compliment, looking down and rubbing her gauntlets. "Thanks. It was pretty close so I can't be too comfortable. If I didn't have these I would've lost."
He gave a small smile at her and closed his eyes. "It seems the upgrades were good after all."
She chuckled and gave a shrug. "I guess so." Looking back up to the screen, she watched as the five new combatants readied themselves, listening to the chatter of the others already placing bets on Sero.
"This is perfect for him, with his tape he can go anywhere in there." Kaminari bet.
"Iida is fast though, he can probably keep up." Tsu croaked.
Even though Momo hoped to See Midoriya win, she frowned since he couldn't control his power. "It's a shame he can't use his quirk in something like this. Because of the risks he will have to run without it."
Katara however didn't say anything, crossing her arms and smiling. She wanted to let the race do all the talking for her. And when it stared, it for sure did.
"WOAH, what?!" most of the class shouted in shock together as Midoriya burst across the facility, dashing and flipping over the obstacles as if they weren't even there.
"What the hell?! Where did Midoriya learn to do that?" Kirishima shot out.
"Wow, he is flipping like crazy out there!" Mineta shouted.
"Oh my god… Deku is amazing!" Uraraka screamed out in excitement.
Momo's mouth hung open in disbelief, watching Midoriya dashing through the facility, uninjured and faster than she had ever seen him. "When did… that's amazing!" she gasped out. "He figured out how to control it?!"
Katara smiled as she listened to the shocked reactions of everyone, both her and Todoroki the only silent ones not stunned since they saw his speed the other night. "He is really good now, isn't he?"
Shoto gave a small nod. "Yes he is."
While everyone else was in awe, Bakugo felt his jaw trembling, but his was not in amazement. As he watched Midoriya kick off another pipe, he watched as a very familiar flip occurred afterward.
'That… that little bastard… those are my moves!'
Midoriya landed and burst forward again, remembering all those times he watched Bakugo traverse through obstacles. "He has so much more experience than I do. By using his patterns… I can make my way through as well!" he shouted to himself in glee as he flew through the course. He looked up and Saw All Might in the distance, the amazed look on his mentor's face growing larger. He then heard the words he was told just before he started.
'Go and win this.'
Midoriya's face lit up thinking of Momo's words, kicking off faster and bursting across the rooftops straight towards All Might. 'It's more than just All Might supporting me. My friends are behind me now, and I won't let them down!'
With one final dash, Midoriya leaped across the final distance, skidding to a stop in front of All Might.
"AH HAHAHAHA! WHAT A SPECTACULAR-" All Might coughed to calm his excitement, beaming down at his successor. "You did an excellent job! Midoriya. You have grown spectacularly!"
"Thank you, All Might!" Midoriya almost squealed in excitement, finally able to show what he could do.
Looking at the other competitors arriving, All Might scooted closer, whispering under his breath. "Great job Midoriya. I have important things to discuss. Meet me after school."
"What?" Midoriya's smile faltered at the statement, sensing a strange tone coming from the hero as he went on to congratulate the others.
After the rest of the races had concluded, the students were back in the locker rooms changing out of their costumes. While some felt good being able test out their speed, it only made those whose quirks did nothing to help only depressed.
"It kinda sucks having a hardening a quirk in times like this…" Kirishima groaned as he removed his shoulder pads.
"Yeah, this is really not our kind of thing…" Kaminari grumbled in annoyance.
Tokoyami sighed as he removed his cloak. "It just means you should improve in other areas."
As the others went on discussing their faults, Shoto looked over to Midoriya nearby. "You have improved even more since that night. You are becoming more mobile."
"Thanks. Training with someone fast like Gran Torino has really helped a lot." Midoriya smiled. "You did good in your race as well. And you won only using your right side."
Shoto raised his eyebrow curiously at that, looking down to his left hand in thought. 'He's right… I have never tried using my left for mobility. Perhaps that is something I can work on.'
"You guys…. Check this out!" Mineta suddenly yelled out to all of them, the small teen smirking by an old poster on the wall. He ripped it off revealing a small hole. "I found something great from the generation before us… a peephole straight to the girls locker room!"
All of the boys eyes widened at the revelation, although only Kaminari's was of excitement. "Mineta, how disgraceful of you to try and peep on others!"
"Oh don't act like you haven't wanted a peak!" Mineta drooled as he shoved his face up to the hole. "This is the chance to see all of the luscious goods hidden from us!"
"You are so repulsive." Tokoyami glared at the purple headed boy.
"Don't say you haven't envisioned them. Tsu's surprisingly large boobs… Ashido's thick pink thighs… Yaoyoruzu's rocking body…. Katara's streamlined sexiness!"
A cold frost suddenly fell over the room, some of the others looking in shock as Shoto's glare pierced the air. For some reason, the thought of his friend being spied on sent an unwelcoming feeling in his stomach, and he was not for that. "I would get away from that if I were you, Mineta…" he growled out.
Mineta however was in such a trance he didn't move. "You can't stop me… I will see the wondrous curves those ladies are-
The lecherous boy's eyes were suddenly enshrouded in water shooting out from the hole, the boy screaming out as it froze instantly on his face. The boys all simply went back to changing as he struggled to great his head free.
Katara glared as she pulled her hand back from the hole, bending the rest of her water back into her canteen. "Little creep…" she hissed out.
Jiro grunted as she retracted her earphone jack from the wall. "Little bastard was so loud I almost didn't need my quirk."
"Such a despicable sicko…" Momo shook her head in annoyance she almost had him looking at her again. "Nice move, Katara."
"Hope that will teach him from looking anymore. Ribbit." Tsu sighed, somewhat wishing she never pulled him up from the water at the USJ.
Huffing out, Katara finished taking off the rest of her outfit with the others. "Back to school… love it." she said sarcastically.
"Awe, you missing the action of the streets?" Mina teased.
Katara gave a shrug and laughed. "I mean… it's not boring, I can tell you that."
"I bet, after helping deliver a baby?!" Toru shook in amazement, the invisible girl still unable to comprehend that. "I would pass out trying to do that!"
"Yeah, that is really something." Uraraka added. "How did you stay so calm?"
"I just knew she needed help, and did my best to make her comfortable." Katara responded as she slipped her school shirt back on. "It all just happened and had to make sure she was okay."
"That is still amazing. I think that's crazier than your ice breakout you did at the festival." Mina giggled in amusement. "You breaking ice is one thing, but handling that is another. I think you actually need a break from that craziness of a week you had."
Katara stopped buttoning her shirt up and looked over. "What do you mean?"
Mina's smile grew bigger as she threw her arms up. "I think we should do another beach day sometime!"
Both Katara and Momo's eyes widened at the thought, the waterbender smiling at the idea. "Actually that does sound like a great idea. A day at the beach would be great."
"Oh I couldn't make it last time, so I wanna go this time at least!" Toru yelled in excitement.
"Ribbit. A day by the water is always good." Tsu chimed in.
"Yeah, and we will ask the guys ahead of time so we get more people." Mina added, trying her best to hide her grin. "I bet Midoriya would love to come again."
Both Yaoyorozu and Uraraka blushed to themselves at the name mentioned, the taller teen thinking back to their first encounter together. While she still felt embarrassed about that incident, she couldn't help but smile at spending another day with him. Uraraka at the same time was thinking how she couldn't wait to get to the beach, clenching her fists as she exhaled out of her nose.
'Another day… with Midoriya.' Momo smiled to herself as she buttoned her shirt up.
'A day at the beach… with Deku…' Uraraka squealed inside.
While the two girls were hiding their red faces pretty well, Katara noticed the sudden change in the air, looking over at Ashido with a raised eyebrow. "Did you plan something?"
"Of course not." Mina grinned, eyeing Momo as she slipped her jacket on. 'Okay, Yaomomo… this is your chance. Do it!'
As she went back to doing her own thing, Katara thought back to the beach herself, hoping to get Tenya to join this time. She then thought of her new friend she had made over the last few weeks. She smiled as she thought of how he had changed, hoping to add another thing for him to experience.
'I'll have to make sure Todoroki can come this time. A day like this could probably make him laugh.' she giggled to herself, somewhat curious what him laughing would sound like. She also wanted to make sure she kept up both training with him and her upcoming training with Recovery Girl. She was going to have some busy weeks ahead of her.
Three hours later
As the sun began setting in the sky, Midoriya sat in the small room facing All Might in his deflated form. While he had a smile when he entered, it had fallen off Izuku's face as he listened to his mentor and idol. When he was told to come meet him in private, he never expected to be told what he was hearing.
Toshinori had learned the truth to the origin of the nomu he defeated from his friend the other day. DNA recovered from the arms left behind revealed it was a bio engineered creature, formed from the body of a former human that had been enhanced. Not only that, but it was shown this creature was given the quirks it had… meaning someone gave that power to him. There was only one person that came into the number one heroes mind, clenching his fists as he told his successor the truth to his own power.
Midoriya swallowed the lump in his throat as he took everything in, learning how a single person had rose to control nearly all of Japan with fear and terror. "S-so, this man… he…"
"Yes…" Toshinori looked down as he remembered that man's cold voice, his laugh as he took away someone precious to him. "… He is the one who killed my master, the previous One for all holder. He can take powers away from you and bestow them to his subordinates, or use them for himself. That man… is All for One."
"All… for One." Midoriya squeezed his hands in worry, watching at how All Might tensed up at the name of this man alone. To learn this was the person responsible for injuring All Might's side, to somehow surviving the battle with the symbol of peace was beyond terrifying. This man matched the greatest hero in the world while he was at his peak, and now he learned he was not only alive, but in fact the one pulling the strings behind the league of villains.
"Wh-what are we going to do now?" Midoriya asked as Toshinori stood up and walked to the window. "What is the plan?"
"There is no clue to what he is going to do next. With him sending Shigaraki to attack me, he must either be trying to kill me… or simply to test me. And with the nomu that attacked in Hosu, who know's how many of those things he has. Either way, It seems like he is finally making his move. One of these days, you may have to face this great evil yourself, and you need to be ready for what happens."
Midoriya looked down, thinking about what All Might must have faced, and what he lost. He then thought of his mother, and the friends he had grown close to. "Iida. Katara… Yaoyorozu." He clenched his fists, refusing to accept that they could be in danger in the future. He wouldn't let that happen.
"All right then…" Midoriya stood up, his face etched in determination. "I will do whatever you need of me, All Might. I will be ready when he shows up. I won't let him hurt anyone else!"
Toshinori smiled at the boys heart, seeing he would do whatever he could. However, inside he felt a sharp pain running through his chest. 'Young Midoriya, you will become something great. But… can you be ready in time for when that evil arrives? And…' the heroes heart ached, not wanting to tell the truth to him. 'Can you do it without me? By that time… I may not be by your side any longer.'
Later that night, the city lights lit up the outskirts of the Hyogo district. Deep in on of the alleyways, a single figure sat against the wall alone. Large patches of gnarled, wrinkled, purple skin covered much of his lower face and neck, all the way down past his collarbone. The same damaged skin was below prevalent on his arms beneath his wrists. All of these sections were attached to the rest of his skin by multiple staples and hoop piercings. The dark patches on his arm disappeared under his raggedy gray shirt. His damaged face was covered in multiple piercings on his ears and nose along with the ones stapling his discolored skin together, his spiky black hair above his turquoise eyes that were locked on to the phone in his hand.
The man watched intently at the video online, describing who the hero killer was and where he came from. It explained his reasoning of attempting to tear down the system that idolized heroes as celebrities instead of true heroism, earning a grin from the man watching it.
"So you were cast out for not following along with the other sheep that worship them. All useless things are cast out when they don't listen…" the man chuckled. "Even the government tries to keep taking this video down to hide the truth… isn't that the story we all live? Get buried when it has no meaning any longer?"
He listened to the video go on explaining the possible connection of Stain to the group that attacked UA; the league of villains. Shutting the phone off, he stood up and cracked his knuckles. "Perhaps I should find these villain guys and see what they are about…"
Reaching down, he grabbed the dark blue jacket on the ground and slipped it on, flipping the high collar up and smiling. "Now to find these bastards… and find out what the hero killer wanted with them." Dabi smirked to himself as he slipped his scarred hands into his pockets, disappearing into the darkness. He along with many others across Japan… were making their way towards the league of villains.
