"Are you alright?" Beckett said to her husband when she walked into the bedroom from the bathroom.
"I am," Castle said. "Why?" he asked in surprise.
Shaking her head Beckett said, "Just making sure you're up to heading out in the canoes."
"I am, the girls have been waiting for this for a while now," Castle commented before he paused as his text alert message sounded.
"That must be them at JFK," Beckett said.
"I hope so," Castle said, reaching for his phone quickly. "Though why are they so late?"
"Check the message love," Beckett said, standing with him and gently cupping the back of his neck with her hand.
"Oh, they waited to text," Castle said with a laugh as he showed her the message.
Taking his phone, Beckett smiled when she saw Alexis had sent a picture of herself and Louis in their seats on the plane with the message, We're on our way! She smiled and handed it back to her husband before she leaned down and kissed his cheek saying, "Tell her we love her."
"I am," Castle said. "Great seats," he then read to her as he typed out the message. "Have fun and we love you."
"No call when you can?" Beckett asked him with a smile.
"They know, and they definitely don't want to hear that," Castle said. "Not traveling and the first day."
Beckett nodded before there was another text and she said, "What is it?"
"We love you guys too, night and talk to you soon in Paris," Castle read for her. "There was an exclamation point after that."
"Of course," Beckett said with a smile. "Let's go love," she told him before reaching for his hand.
"Yeah, I just said goodnight and see you soon," Castle told her. He followed her out of the room before he told her, "Though I'm so happy for them."
"Don't worry Rick, I know," Beckett assured him. They were at the door and she pulled him down to her before they kissed gently. "Now we'll focus on the girls."
"Yes, especially Josie, I felt like-" Castle began before he stopped at a knock on the door.
Opening it, Beckett smiled when she found Julia was there with Mari and she was going to ask how the girls' room was when the former was speaking first eagerly.
"Did you hear from 'lexis yet?" Julia asked.
"We did," Castle said, opening the picture her big sister had sent and giving it to Julia to look at.
"Cool," the girl said before letting Mari see.
"How exciting it must be," she commented. "To go all alone on your own," Mari explained.
"It is," Beckett said with a smile as her husband glanced at her. "And-" she started to say before she stopped and reached for her phone in her bag as her text alert had sounded. She read the message and then smiled saying, "It's from Lanie, they just got back to the city."
"I wish they could have stayed; they only got here yesterday," Julia said.
"I know, but remember, your tio had to work tomorrow and Dylan needs to go into the hospital he does rounds at once in a while," Beckett explained, since their city family had left Lake Placid an hour after Alexis and Louis had.
"Still," Julia said with a smile. She then said, "I'm glad Tio Javi could come."
"So was he," Castle said as his wife was texting Lanie back. "Are you guys ready to go?" she said to the two girls.
"Very, do you think we'll be able to swim?" Mari asked.
"We still need to try the water," Castle said with a smile since the kids had all been asking that since they'd decided to try and swim in the lake.
"And if it's too cold you know we'll have the chance to go canoeing," Beckett said, putting her phone away. "Let's go." She walked with her husband after the girls to the stairs down to the bottom floor and she said, "Though I hope the water's warm enough."
"Me too, though I am starting to feel fall coming," Castle commented.
"How can you tell?" Mary asked as the group was meeting the rest of them at the bottom of the stairs.
"His nose," Beckett said, glancing at her husband and rolling her eyes in amusement as he was tapping it. "I'm ready to swim," she said finally before they were walking together to the door leading to the back of the B&B.
"Have you guys gone over to the Olympic stuff here?" Darnley asked his friend as they were going down to the edge of the lake.
"No, we stayed here at the lake or the stream," Beckett said.
"What a setting," Darnley said.
"He's right, the leaves and the water," Nkosi said, smiling since the writer was doing so as well. "I'm not surprised they chose to have the ceremony there."
"And it was a great one," Castle said. "Oh, for the…" he said when the two men were looking at him. "I'm glad, so enough with the uncertainty. I was smiling when I walked her down the aisle right?" he asked his wife.
"You were, since Alexis was beaming herself," Beckett answered. "We were all very happy today. Now go check the water the kids are waiting for you."
"He's not hiding anything is he?" Darnley asked her friend.
"No," Beckett said. "But I'm not surprised he's annoyed everyone's treating him like he's upset." She squeezed her friend's hand and went to the edge of the water, putting her hand on Eliza's shoulder as they were watching Castle coming back. "Well?" she asked in amusement because she could feel the little girl next to her rocking back and forth on her feet.
"Not bad, it's not Tahiti but I think we'll get used to it," Castle said, smiling when his wife was taking off her sundress and tossing it back to his mother who was waiting for it. He watched Beckett go into the water and saw her take a moment before she immersed herself. When she waved to them, he was smiling as he said, "Everybody in the water."
"Daddy?" Eliza asked as they were walking hand in hand into the lake.
"Yeah?" Castle said, looking down at her.
"Are 'lexis and Louis going to kiss at all? Or just go around the city?" Eliza asked.
"Don't worry, they'll kiss and see the city," Castle told her. "They want to do both."
"Oh good," Eliza said. "I thought 'cause they just got married they wouldn't know how to do that."
Laughing briefly, Castle squeezed her hand before they were walking into the water and told her, "They know," before he let her go over to Fleur and the youngest McDouglas twins near them. He went into the water, swimming to where his wife was at the end of the pier and he was about to call to her when she swam up to him and asked him about their second youngest once she'd reached him.
"Was Eliza asking about Alexis and Louis?" Beckett said, treading the water with her husband.
"She was," Castle said. "If they'll be able to kiss at all."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said with a brief laugh. "But I hope they'll go to the Louvre."
"Just the Louvre?" Castle asked her in surprise.
"Rick," Beckett said simply. "We're going to let them spend their honeymoon as they want to. And we'll focus on being with our girls, starting with today and Apple Canyon tomorrow."
"Sure," Castle said quickly. He was going to speak again before he then turned to the shore as Skye was suddenly calling to his wife.
"I better see what's wrong," Beckett said, starting to swim to the shore before she stopped. "Why didn't you just go there in the first place?" she asked her friend as she went to the end of the pier instead.
"Forgot that this was here," Skye said, sitting down. "I just got a call from Brian and Roger; they want us to film the video on the sixteenth next month."
"For sure?" Beckett asked.
"For sure, their tour is almost over," Skye said, smiling and giving her a quick nod. "Are you ready?"
"Are you?" Beckett said immediately.
"Then we're in the same boat," Skye said.
"Canoeing will be later," Castle commented. He laughed when his wife lightly splashed at him before he said, "Alright, I had to take the opportunity," before he smiled at them. "You three will be great; plus the rest of the band."
"He's coming isn't he?" Skye asked her friend.
"He is," Beckett said. "So we'll see if he's right."
"Good point," Skye replied before she turned her attention to the kids who were coming up to them in the water.
Going to her daughters, Beckett swam with them before Castle came up to them though it was under the water, lightly tugging her foot. "Thank you, Rick," she said wryly when her husband surfaced.
"You're welcome," Castle said with a smile.
"Mom, Dad?" Julia asked. When her parents looked at her, she asked, "Are you ever going to go on a honeymoon like 'lexis and Louis are?"
"You mean once we renew our vows?" Beckett asked. When their second oldest nodded she looked at her husband and said with a smile, "We're going to stay in Adare."
"Every year?" Eliza asked.
"Every year; we like it there and we can always go other places from there," Castle told her. "You don't like Ireland now?"
"I do, but I thought that would be boring there," Eliza explained. She heard Fleur calling to her and said, "But I'm glad you're gonna go!"
"I am too," Julia said before she was swimming over to Mari and Peter who'd called her.
"I guess it's a good thing they're so supportive," Castle said.
"And you know that means once they're married we need to be too," Beckett said.
"Hey, I already am for our first daughter married," Castle pointed out. He was momentarily startled when she leaned over to him and kissed him and he said, "Another?"
"No, come on love," Beckett said with a smile. "We need to go out in the boats before it gets dark."
"We'll take Eliza?" Castle asked.
"Together, Dad wants to go with her," Beckett said with a smile. She laughed when her husband nodded rapidly before they shared a brief kiss and then began swimming to the others.
"Are you okay?" Julia asked her friend.
"Yeah, it's like when I was at camp," Mari said with a wide smile as she glanced over her friend. "You too?"
"Definitely," Julia replied with a quick nod. They were rowing after the other canoes together and she said, "I'm so glad we got the chance to do this." She was about to ask Mari if she was excited to see Apple Canyon the next day when Mari was asking about it first.
"What are we going to do once we get to the apples tomorrow?" the girl said.
"I don't know," Julia replied.
"Julia," Mari said in slight annoyance, stopping and turning slightly so she could look at her better.
"No, seriously," Julia said in a rush. "I don't know because I don't know what time it'll be once we get there. If it's time for lunch we'll have lunch… but I really think we'll just get there in time for lunch since we're leaving early."
"And then the zoo?" Mari asked.
"Probably," Julia said with a smile, knowing her friend wanted to see that. "And then we can get apples and caramel apples."
"That I can't wait for either," Mari said before she and her friend were laughing. They were rowing by the island in the lake, and she said, "It's beautiful here."
"I told you," Julia said. "And it's peaceful." She smiled when her friend nodded in front of her and then said, "I'm glad you got to come."
"Me too," Mari said, smiling. They rowed in silence again before she was saying, "Do you know what we're going to do for dinner?"
"No, I don't think anything really big since we had the food at the wedding," Julia said. She then asked, "Where would you go on your honeymoon?"
"Disney World," Mari answered immediately. She and Julia laughed together and said, "I thought about it and I like going there instead of Japan, that I would do for a summer trip. Think that's weird?"
"No, I would so do that too, you'd get great food and see really neat animals if you go to the Animal Kingdom park and all the rides too," Julia explained.
"I'd go to all four… but do you think three weeks is too much there?" Mari asked.
"A little bit, maybe just two weeks, you could go to all six parks twice and maybe have a day off before you start over again," Julia said.
"Perfect, then that's what I'm going to do," Mari said firmly. She and her friend started to laugh together before they were calming down and focusing on getting back to the B&B as they were near it in the water.
"Think she'll stick with that?" David asked Castle as they were getting the canoes out of the water eventually.
"I don't know," Castle said honestly. "She's only eleven but since the kids love rides so much and have gone on the extreme ones already it's possible. And it sounds great. Kate!"
"What?" Beckett asked, having been walking up to him with Josie on her hip.
"I thought of a future summer vacation," Castle told her seriously.
"Okay," Beckett said in amusement. "Where?"
"All the Disney parks in the world," Castle answered. When she smiled, he said, "You don't mind?"
"Why would I? I've always wanted to see the others," Beckett said simply. She then smiled and told him, "Look into it."
"I will, but what about Josie…" Castle said slowly.
"When she's older," Beckett said firmly.
"Okay, perfect," Castle replied before he took back the life vests they'd worn in the canoe.
Julia went over to her mother and touched her arm before she was going to ask what they'd do after dinner. But she was a little surprised when she was instead talking about dinner itself before she could correct her.
"We're just going to have sandwiches sweetie," Beckett told her daughter. "And we'll have a macaron," she added.
"I was going to ask about what we'll do after dinner," Julia said with a smile. "But I was wondering about dinner."
"Now you know," Castle said, coming back to them. "I'll head in to get dinner love."
Beckett nodded and then set Josie down telling her, "Stay here sweetie."
"Mama," the baby said, holding on to her.
Running her hand over Josie's hair, Beckett said, "If you're hungry we're going to eat right now." She then turned to Skye who'd walked up to her and said, "Are you good?"
"Yes, I'm not thinking about the video at all," the investigator replied easily. She then smiled and said, "I'm trying not to if I'm being honest."
Watching Skye picking up Josie, Beckett then said, "You're still all sure you want me in it?"
"Yep," the investigator replied, popping the p in the word and making the baby laugh. "Really, we have the idea for the video set and you won't have to do much."
"Are you going to tell me what exactly that is?" Beckett asked.
"You'll see," Mary said. "Remember," she said with a smile when the writer turned to her. "We don't know what we're doing yet."
"Are they okay with you improvising?" Beckett said.
"Freddie would be," Skye said simply. She then looked at the house and said, "Dinner's served; we'd best get the kids."
Turning as the two women left her; after the investigator had given Josie back to her; Beckett saw her husband was walking out with Brad and Nkosi, carrying what they would need for dinner. She smiled when the baby squealed in joy before she kissed her temple saying, "We'll go eat right now sweetie. Girls." She made sure Julia and Eliza were coming over to her and she went to the table they'd be sharing.
"It feels empty," Eliza suddenly said as they were sitting and starting to eat.
"There are still seven of us," Martha said. "But I know what you mean, though they're getting closer to Paris. Just think of that."
"Are they going to sleep on the trip?" Eliza asked.
"Of course, they get in at five in the morning," Castle commented. "But they'll have time to sleep in the hotel and then… they'll probably explore the city a little. Or swim; their hotel does have a pool."
"What kind of room did you give them?" Julia asked.
"Dada!" Josie cried.
"Hold on," Castle said to his second oldest quickly. He turned his attention to the baby and helped her with the sandwich he'd given her, cut in half and the crusts off as well. "We got them the penthouse suite," he finally answered Julia.
"Suite? So it's big," Eliza guessed.
"Very," Beckett said. "We got that one since it's a special occasion and they're going to be living there for three weeks."
"Does it have a kitchen?" Julia asked interestedly.
"No, but they have the money for food," Castle said. "And I think the hotel recently started offering a kitchen for people who want to cook… or they have cooking lessons I don't remember which it was. But let them decide what they want to do."
"Are you saying that to yourself Daddy?" Eliza asked.
Since the little girl was saying that so innocently, Castle merely laughed and then said, "A little, but if they do have a lesson I hope they let us know how it went."
"I'm sure they will," Beckett said before Julia was suddenly asking about outside the city.
"Think they'll go to Versailles at all?" she asked.
"Maybe," Beckett said, smiling when her husband was looking at her. "To be honest they might just stay inside the city and go around the different areas."
"And kiss," Eliza said.
"Yes," Beckett replied with a smile before she glanced over at Julia to find the girl was looking up at the sky. She then changed the subject to the next day and she was talking with the others about Apple Canyon before they were finishing, and she turned her attention to Julia.
"Mom," the girl said in slight annoyance when she stopped her.
"I'm just checking that you're okay," Beckett said.
"No, I just wish Lizzy would stop saying they're kissing," Julia said, not surprised when her mother hugged her. "It's weird now I think about it."
Rubbing her back gently Beckett told her, "I know, but remember they are actually kissing too."
"That's true," Julia said when they let go of each other. She then smiled and said, "They might just sit together and watch TV and kiss one night."
"They might," Beckett echoed. She hugged her daughter again and said, "Go ahead and play."
"What about dessert?" Julia asked.
"We'll have it soon," Beckett said as she playfully pinched her daughter's cheek. She watched her hurry off before she looked at her mother in law who was still at the table. "I'm not surprised," she said.
"Neither am I," Martha replied. "I just hope Eliza won't be horrified once she reaches the sixth grade."
"Julia wasn't," Beckett reminded her.
Seeing his mother nodding, Castle squeezed his wife's shoulder and asked, "Everything okay?"
"It is," Beckett said with a smile while she squeezed him with one arm once he was sitting next to her.
"I asked about canoeing at night," Castle said. When he saw his mother, Jim and wife were looking at him he said, "Just out of curiosity."
"They said no?" Jim asked.
"They did, safety reasons of course," Castle replied. He smiled then and said, "But it would have been fun."
"We need to play with Josie," Beckett told him, getting the baby from her highchair before setting her down. "Come sweetie, let's walk along the beach."
"Ba!" Josie cried. "Up!"
"I don't think you want to get up," Castle said, following them. "You're not going to let her wade?" he then asked his wife.
"I am," Beckett replied. "Since this isn't going to last that long." She smiled when her husband was looking at his watch and said, "I noticed."
"True, but hey," Castle said, turning his attention to Josie. "At least you get to go in the water a little."
"Wa-wa," the baby said.
"Very good sweetie," Beckett said, kissing the top of her head as she quickly picked her up. She let Castle do the same; though it hadn't been the first time she'd said that; and she said, "Can you say your sister's name?" She wasn't surprised when the baby laughed and kissed her cheek again before setting her down as her husband spoke.
"Which sister?" Castle asked her.
"Any of them," Beckett said with a smile. She then said, "But for now I think she's done."
"Almost," Castle pointed out to her as the baby was splashing through the water.
"Easy sweetie," Beckett told her though Josie just laughed and continued. She scooped her daughter up and swung her around so she wouldn't start crying. Kissing her cheek, she held her on her hip and said, "I think it's time for you to sleep sweetie."
"Mama!" Josie said.
Kissing her cheek then Castle said, "She's learning from her sisters."
Laughing Beckett said, "You knew that was going to happen."
"It's why I made it a statement and not a question," Castle replied easily. He smiled when his wife laughed again and wrapped his arm around her before he kissed her gently on the lips.
"What time are you putting your kids to bed?" Darnley said as he walked over to them.
"Early," Beckett said. "We're going to wake up early and be running around Apple Canyon; they'll need to rest."
"True, it was a busy day too," Darnley said, looking at Keo who he was holding.
"The youngest might need to go to bed," Castle commented with a smile as he was looking at the toddler.
"I think they will now," Beckett said, smiling at her husband when he turned to her and looked at Josie.
"Okay, then I think we're heading inside for a moment," Castle said before he went to his mother to see what she would be doing while the other parents with younger children were getting them to get them ready for bed as the older ones kept running around the shore of the lake.
"I'm so tired," Mari said to Julia when she was climbing on the bed with her.
"Me too," she told her friend. Julia reached for her diary but hesitated before she said, "I guess I can't really write… I'm so tired, like I agreed with you about."
Laughing softly, Mari said, "Then don't write, wait until tomorrow or Monday or… whenever."
Julia was laughing and let her friend take her diary before she said, "It'll probably have to be Monday, we'll be way too busy and traveling to write when we're home tomorrow."
"I guess I'll have to wait too," Mari said once she'd set the diary on her nightstand. She breathed out heavily and said, "Let's sleep?"
"Yeah, we need to," Julia said with a nod before she was turning off the light that was on her nightstand.
After she'd done the same with the lamp on her side, Mari said, "I think your parents heard us talking about the idea of going to Disney World for a honeymoon."
"I know, and then I heard my dad talking about going to all the Disney parks one summer," Julia told her.
"Oh, that would be so neat," Mari said, turning onto her side since she could see a little better.
"I know, going all around the world," Julia replied, smiling as she was turning to her friend as well. "But it's weird because I'm sure they'll want to go in June after school whatever year it is and until their anniversary; like this year."
"And you don't think we'd have that much to do," Mari said.
"Not really," Julia replied. "If we only stay for a few days at the other parks and a week at Disney World that's barely going to be a month I think."
"Maybe we'll go to the other parks twice," Mari suggested.
"Yes, but then we'll have more time," Julia said. "But that's why the grownups plan that all out."
"I think you mean your dad," Mari said before they both burst into laughter.
Eventually Julia tried her best to calm her friend down and once she had succeeded, she said, "You're right but we really need to go to sleep. Our moms are going to be super mad if we're exhausted tomorrow."
"Not our dads?" Mari asked.
Snorting in trying to suppress her laughter, Julia said, "Stop," in a mock warning tone of voice. "I don't know," she said when she had finally calmed down. "I don't think our dads would really get that mad in the end. Disappointed since we didn't go to sleep when we were supposed to but not mad."
"Then that means we have to stop completely?" Mari said.
"I think so," Julia said, smiling. "For sure now."
Laughing a little, Mari reached over to her friend and hugged her tightly before she murmured a goodnight.
Telling her friend the same, Julia closed her eyes before she was settling down to sleep, hoping she could do so soon and not be tired when they saw their parents the next day for their trip back home.
"This was a very weird day," David said as he sat down once he'd given his wife a glass of wine.
"How was it weird?" Brad asked in confusion.
"One of our kids just got married… two of our kids," David said before he was correcting himself swiftly. "Sorry."
"Oh, that's alright," Brennan said.
"He's right," Clara said with a smile. "We're not always here."
"And he is right," Castle said. "We've had this nucleus of kids that to know two of them are going to be in their own house permanently now…"
"Starting a family at some point," Brad commented.
Making a brief face at his friend Castle said, "I know that already so it's not something that fills me with dread."
"You'll be a grandparent," Lily said.
"Grandparents," Mary added, though she was smiling.
"We're ready for it whenever that happens," Beckett said, taking her husband's hand and holding it.
"She's right, so stop with the grandkids now," Castle said. He smiled and laughed when the others had begun to do so and then said, "But just wait."
"Hey, Eve is not getting married until she's thirty-two," Brad said since his friend was looking at him.
"That's what he thinks," Lily said, rolling her eyes. "As long as she's of age and ready then we'll be happy for her."
"Good to know," Beckett said. "Does she?"
"She does," Lily replied before sipping at her wine.
"I heard," Rebecca said then. "Something about a trip to Disney World for a summer?"
"Not a summer," Castle said quickly. "I had the idea of going around to all the Disney parks."
"How would we do that though," Genevieve said before she smiled and motioned between herself and her boyfriend. "Isaac and I would take the boys to that vacation."
"She's right, there's only so many of them and a very long summer," Clara replied.
"I'm not sure yet," Castle admitted. "We really need to agree on it together, don't make me decide everything."
"But you enjoy doing it a lot love," Beckett told him. She smiled when her husband pouted his lips for a moment before he was raising her hand up to his lips to kiss it gently.
"She's right, I do but we should all agree on another pl-" Castle started to say.
"San Francisco," Skye interrupted him.
"Stay in Mill Valley?" Castle asked her. When the investigator nodded, he smiled and said, "I wouldn't mind."
"We all wouldn't fit," Brennan said. "If you don't mind us going."
"We don't," Beckett said swiftly. "And we can always rent a house."
"We can look into it, but when should we do that?" David asked.
"Maybe wait for the two youngest to be old enough," Lily suggested.
"Why were you so hesitant?" Darnley asked her in surprise.
"Because if Alexis and Louis have grandkids by then," Beckett said. She smiled when Lily glanced at her and said, "I'd thought the same and we should talk with the two about that. But we should wait until Josie and Sophie are at least five."
"Great," Darnley said, clapping his hands together swiftly. "But what I'm really wondering about is what we're doing next summer."
"We haven't even gotten to next year yet," Nkosi told his husband teasingly.
"Actually, he's right," Castle said. "We need to start talking about it so we can have everything planned."
"What?" Skye asked in mock confusion when the writer looked at her. She smiled when he rolled his eyes and said, "We talked about it when they were in LA for the show. I suggested we should have a road trip from Vancouver to San Diego."
"That would be fun," Rebecca said quickly.
"She's always wanted to go to Vancouver," David said with a smile at his wife.
"He wants to go for The X-Files," Rebecca said, rolling her eyes before they were laughing together.
When they were calming down Beckett said to the others, "We didn't really pick places for sure though." She was about to suggest they do that then when the investigator was suddenly talking and taking her suggestion to her surprise.
"Since we're all here should we talk about where we'll go?" Skye asked.
"Exactly where we go?" Mary asked her wife.
"I think she has a point; we're all together," Skye said before she looked over at Beckett.
"I was going to say," she told the investigator with a smile. "Maybe we should wait until we're at lunch with the kids."
"See if they have any suggestions?" Lily asked.
"Our oldest might," Mary said with a smile. "But mostly in California."
"You've never been on that road trip?" Brennan asked the McDouglas women.
"No, though we've been to Vancouver," Skye said. "Another trip before Marie and Kath came to us; though it was mostly snowboarding at Whistler."
"Okay, so I think that's all we'll need right?" David asked.
"You're that tired?" Rebecca asked her husband with a smile.
"Sure," David said as he was hesitating. He smiled when the others were laughing and he said, "Okay, maybe I'm not that tired."
"No, it's a good idea," Brennan said.
"We do need to go to bed," Beckett added. "We're going to be out on the road early tomorrow. And that's all we need, to be exhausted while our kids are all well rested." She wasn't surprised when the others agreed, and they were saying goodnight to each other before they were going into the B&B and back to their rooms. After her husband had locked their door, she squeezed his arm telling him, "I'm going to take a shower."
"I'll take one right after you," Castle said with a smile.
"Are you going to check on their flight?" Beckett asked him while she was smiling.
"Do you think it's weird if I do?" Castle replied.
"No," Beckett answered easily. "To be honest I think Alexis is expecting you to."
"Most likely," Castle said with a nod. He reached for his wife and gently pulled her to him before they kissed, and he did so gently before they parted. "I'll see you when you finish," he told his wife seriously as he forced himself to let her go.
"Alright," Beckett said with a slight smile since she knew why her husband had said that. She cupped his cheek gently before she got her pajamas and went into the bathroom. Before she closed the door, she saw Castle was sitting on the edge of the bed with his phone in hand. She smiled before she closed the door fully and turned her attention to taking her shower.
Looking down at the screen of his phone, Castle smiled at the little plane on the map, seeing it was nearing France. He closed the page and then turned his attention to his games, playing one until he heard the door opening. "They're close to France," he told his wife once she was in the bedroom.
"I had a feeling," Beckett said. "I feel so sorry for them though; their wedding night." She saw her husband hesitating and smiled telling him, "I did talk to Alexis though. She said they both just want to get to Paris and worry about everything else for the three weeks they're there."
"Okay, I'll take my shower now," Castle said, hurrying to get his clothing.
Beckett smiled as he went into the bathroom quickly, knowing he didn't want to consider the newlyweds consummating their marriage. She didn't either, but she wanted them to have a normal honeymoon since she knew it would make their daughter happy. She shook herself then and went to her husband's phone which he'd left on the bed. She pulled down the covers and then climbed onto the mattress before she opened the site her husband had used and saw the couple's plane was nearer the continent. She smiled at the map before she closed the phone and sat back, waiting for her husband to finish.
"Hey," Castle said when he stepped out.
"You said that already," Beckett said as she looked at her husband with a smile.
"I thought you'd be watching TV," Castle explained to her with a smile. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, I checked their flight," Beckett replied.
"They haven't gotten further?" Castle asked.
Shaking her head Beckett said, "Slightly but they're hopefully asleep right now so it doesn't matter."
Climbing onto the bed with her Castle said, "What do you think?"
"About their marriage?" Beckett asked. When her husband nodded, she moved to kiss him gently on the lips before she pulled away. "I don't know what might happen in the future," she told him. "But I see it lasting for a while." She studied him and then smiled saying, "And you do too."
"I'm just making sure I'm not seeing things," Castle replied quickly.
Beckett laughed softly and then said, "You're not, but let's not be concerned about their relationship. They're committed."
"They are," Castle said before he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close to him. He kissed the side of her head and said, "Think we could do something tomorrow?" He watched her pulling away to look at him and said, "What?"
"I'm surprised you're not pushing for something now," Beckett said with a smile before her husband was speaking quickly.
"I was listening when we were talking about being tired tomorrow," Castle said in mock protest. He smiled when his wife laughed softly and then told her, "And to be honest I am tired. We've been busy since we got up… I think we only rested today after the kids were in bed."
"I think so," Beckett replied before she leaned against her husband. "But it was a great day."
"It was," Castle said. They were both silent and he then asked her, "You're not going to ask how I'm doing?"
"No," Beckett replied with a smile. "You said stop and I'm already aware that you're fine. Tired apparently, but fine."
"You wanted to do something?" Castle asked her in surprise.
"I'd like to, but I know we can't really," Beckett said. "So yes, we'll do something tomorrow night once we get home." She smiled when her husband was kissing her quickly after that before they parted and she nuzzled his lips with hers telling him, "Let's go to bed."
"I love you," Castle said seriously. "For today and everything."
Smiling again, Beckett kissed him but far quicker before they parted and she said, "I love you too." They kissed a third time before they slowly parted and moved to slide under the covers once they'd closed the lights and her husband had taken off his glasses.
"I'm glad everything's set," Castle said after they were settled.
"Me too," Beckett said. "She's happy," she stated.
Pressing a few kisses to her forehead Castle said, "I wish she was ours love."
"I know Rick," Beckett said gently, knowing he meant biologically. "But she is now, and I promise to help her if she needs it being a wife and mother herself."
Breathing out, Castle said, "Of course."
Smiling, knowing her husband didn't want to consider the latter just yet, Beckett said, "But they're together right now and we need to get some rest after everything."
"Right," Castle said. He shared a kiss with his wife before he said, "Before we actually sleep could I ask you something?"
"Okay," Beckett replied, tilting her head up to him.
"Do you remember their wedding?" Castle asked simply.
Not answering for a moment, Beckett then smiled and said, "I did just now."
Nodding Castle said, "Now that you're thinking about it."
"You too?" Beckett asked him with a smile.
"Yeah," Castle replied. He then said, "But let's wait until they're home and we can all remember it."
"Right," Beckett said with a soft laugh.
"Kate?" Castle then asked.
"What?" Beckett said, surprised he wasn't telling her goodnight.
"Next summer," Castle began. "Is there anywhere you want to go especially?"
"Not really," Beckett said. "Just a few zoos, San Francisco again and maybe this time see a little more of San Jose." She could hear her husband breathe a little sharply and she told him, "We can go."
"You're sure?" Castle asked.
"No, we need to talk to Skye about that first," Beckett replied. "But I'm fine with going because I know Julia will want to see the house," she added.
"Okay," Castle said with a quick nod. He then kissed her and when they parted said, "Night my love."
"Night Rick," Beckett told him with a smile before they were kissing a final time.
Feeling his wife settling down to sleep against him, Castle held her closer and closed his eyes. It took him a little longer to sleep, thinking of his daughter and new son in law landing shortly in Paris. He couldn't help hoping still they would be alright, both on their honeymoon and in their marriage before his wife cuddling close to him took his attention. He smiled for a moment and then let himself relax, thinking of Beckett and what they could do once they were back home and alone with the next night stretched out before them and their intimacy forefront in their minds.
