Chapter 38.

(Harry POV)

I got back to Cardiff, but when I got to the Hab no one was there.

"Jack, you here?!" I shouted but no response.

Then I went over to Tosh's desk where my headset was there so and grab it and put it in.

"Jack, you there?" I said.

"Harry, Where are you?" Jack said.

"Hab why?" I said.

"I need help with this damn Weevil," Jack said.

"Shot me the coords, I'm on my way," I said.

"Sending them now," Jack said.

As they came through on the Vortex where I used my vortex and beamed to a nearby carp park where I found Jack and Gwen.

"Though you only called me," I said.

"Well he found me," Gwen said.

"Sorry for cutting in, but I've been having trouble with this one," Jack said.

"Rhys will get over it, he always does," Gwen said.

"You promised you'd keep hold of your life, Don't let it drift," Jack said.

"There we go, 300 metres on the right, Car Park," I said.

As we heading in and split up.

"Jack, Harry over there," Gwen said.

Where I van came as they to the weevil.

"HEY!" I said.

As they ran off in the van.

"Who the hell were there?" Jack said.

Then we headed back to the Hab were we got everyone in.

"One since when did other people know about Weevils?" Jack said.

"Two, Have they done this before and if so why didn't we know about it?" I said.

"Three, What do they want with them anyway?" Jack said.

"Ianto, any weird reports," I said.

"Yes, We've noticed a surge of unusual injuries being reported at the A&E unit," Ianto said.

"Chunks taken out of Legs and arms, deep wounds to backs and stomachs," Jack said.

"So we have a wave of weevil attacks to add to our problems or, that is why those people taken the Weevil," I said.

"And by the way, that spray we've used on them previously? they're becoming immune to it," Jack said.

"They're mutating?" Tosh said.

"Or Evolving," I said. "So any sign of the one we lost earlier,"

"I''ve run a trace on the van's number plate, It's fake," Tosh said. "2,500 vans of that type registered in the Cardiff area, Widen that to a forty mile radius and the number doubles,"

"Shit, run a trace on the vehicle," I said.

"Route via traffic cameras?" Tosh said. "Processing now,"

Then We both headed out.

"So you back for a bit then?" Tosh said.

"Yeah," I said.

"Good, missed you being here," Tosh said.

"I going to check something back in a minute," I said headed out to the Tardis to check the Engines which so far have been good, Good thing I can stop them for a few days. Let them cool down. Running them hard for a bit lately. Then I headed back there.

"Well," I said.

"I've tracked the van's route, it went straight from the car park out to the docks, this was 2 hours ago," Tosh said then the camera went off.

"What happened?" Jack said.

"The CCTV cameras went down," Tosh said.

"D'you think it was deliberate?" Gwen said.

"I think these guys really don't like to be watched," Tosh said.

"See, and I know it's a character flaw that makes me all the more determined to find out what it is they're hiding," Jack said.

"Then you and Tosh go down there, I'll stay here using the live feed in case you 2 get company," I said.

"Then let's go," Jack said.

As they left.

"Well," Gwen said.

"They are there," I said.

"What were they doing there," Gwen said.

"No clue yet," I said.

"Harry we got a body, Weevil marks, Ianto trace all the calls to and from this number," Jack said.

Then I called Owen.

"This is Owen's voicemail, Don't leave a message," Owen said.

"Nice try Owen, I want you back at the Hab immediately, We'll got a weevil murder so get you bone ass over here," I said. hanging up.

As Jack and Tosh got back with the Body. As Owen came in and started work on it.

"Dan Hodges, Date of birth. 21/1/1979, salesman for web publishing software, Looks like he was married with a kid," Gwen said.

"Yeah no shit Sherlock," Owen said.

"Well," I said.

"Right Definitely death by Weevil, but he took a right kicking before the throat was punctured, Weevils go for the kills straight for the jugular," Owen said.

"So these people are taking weevils and using them to kill," I said.

"Yeah, look at his face, Black eye, bruises to the cheekbones, same across the back and the ribs," Owen said.

"Could he of by tortured," Tosh said.

"But I reckon these wounds were inflicted by humans, But why smack somebody about and then set the weevil on them?" Owen said.

"For the perfect murder. No DNA," I said.

"Any joy with the phone records?" Jack said.

"The last incoming number was blocked, The phone's call history has been erased," Ianto said.

"God they move fast," Tosh said.

"Which means this has happened before," I said.

"Harry's right these guys are using weevils to carry out the perfect murder," Jack said. "No fingerprints, no trace of recognisable DNA, A quick, guaranteed death, Nothing connect anyone to the murder,"

"Right should be a piece of piss to find the killer then," Owen said.

"What about this guy? Someone's got to break it to his wife that he's dead," Gwen said.

"Get on it then," I said. Then headed.

When I got back up so did Owen.

"Where the hell have you been?" Jack said.

"Walking," Owen said.

"Well, in your absence Toshiko's had a great idea," Jack said.

"Well, It had to happen sooner or later," Owen said.

"Ignore him, Tosh," I said.

"Yeah, just ignore me, Tosh, I can be such a wanker, Apparently," Owen said.

"Yeah, like right now," I said.

"The Van went with the Weevil, straight to the warehouse," Tosh said. "They must've known it was empty,"

"So Either they own it or had previous contact with the estate agents," Gwen said.

"Owen Harper you're going into property," Jack said.

"Tosh is in the middle of fixing you a cover story," I said.

"Hang on why me?" Owen said.

"Jack, Gwen and I were in the car park when they took that fist weevil, Tosh and Jack were at the warehouse where we found that guys body, Only person they haven't seen if they have those areas under CCTV They'll recognise us," I said.

"We have to get under their guard find out what's going on," Jack said.

"Yeah, all right, I could do with being someone else right now," Owen said.

Then Owen lefted as I went to see Myfanwy for a bit knowing how she was since I got back. Then I headed back down to the others.

"Job done," Tosh said.

"I've found another set of suspicious injuries at the hospital," Ianto said. "They sound pretty bad,"

"Tosh, stay here and monitor Mark Lynch's movements, Ianto with me, Harry get some rest," Jack said.

"I'll come with you," Gwen said.

"Go home," Jack said.

"But," Gwen said.

"It's not a request," Jack said. "Remember don't let it drift,"

Then I headed for the Tardis and went to my room after checking the engines, Which were fine. Once there, I laid down for a bit, but I couldn't So I got up and then went to and got some food, from a chippy and then headed back where I ate up and then went back to bed where I managed to get the rest of the night asleep.

When I woke up. I found out that, Owen was injured by the Weevil, Jack was away to see him. We got the people behind it and one of them got himself killed so It was all over now.
