Hermione POV:
"There's so many of them," Ron said as he placed another bug into an almost full jar. From it, several bugs tried to crawl out but were quickly put back in with the use of magic. He quickly screwed the lid tight again and went searching again. "There might be more though," Harry said. "We might not have found all of them."
"Should we do this the whole night?" Seamus Finnigan to the side called out. "We still have classes tomorrow,"
"And let more weird dreams come back?" Ron said. "No thanks, besides, this will help all those students in the infirmary,"
That night, almost everyone stayed up trying to clean out the bugs. Several small containers were filled up overnight. In the end, everyone stopped only a couple of hours before the sun came up. Everyone falling exhausted onto their beds. The next morning, most students helped each other in the dormitories to get, each of them yawning constantly. The other students from the other houses seemed to be more or less as tired with several students leaning on each other without any vigour.
My fork felt heavy between my fingers as I lifted some of my breakfast then slowly chewed in my mouth. To the side of me, Ron looked as though his head would fall on top of his plate while Harry seemed to be taking an extremely long time to blink. Percy had just taken a seat next to Harry, biting his lips as his hand lightly rubbed the back of his neck with anxiousness. His sea-green eyes kept flitting back to the Slytherin table, oftentimes looking towards the Ravenclaw table as well. "Is it just me or does Nico seem different?" Ron tilted his head to the side, his brow furrowing. "Hey, Percy, I think your friend is upset,"
Nico was sitting at the Slytherin table sourly, his head hanging like it was a bobblehead in those shops only if the spring was broken. Most Slytherins paid him no mind or shot him some distasteful looks, there were a few that waved a few times, but they were mainly silent as well. Percy's lips pursued hardly before he answered. "Things are kind of...weird now for Nico, that's one way to put it,"
"Things looking much more than weird," Harry commented.
"Let's just say they're not too happy with him," Percy said.
Suddenly, at the front of the Great Hall Dumbledore stood up. "Hello, everyone," His voice was sonorous and genial as always, his half-moon glasses perched on his nose as a smile spread on his mouth. "I hope everyone is doing well today. I felt that it was a little humid in the air, but I think otherwise it was a fine morning. Anyway, first things first, the cause for the recent disease on the school has been discovered." Dumbledore lifted a clear jar that carried several small bugs scurrying inside it causing a loud number of disgusted shouts and wrinkled noses in the crowd. "As you might have been informed earlier last night these creatures are the cause of the disease. They have been concealing themselves in any possible hiding space throughout the school so please bring a canister of some sort to put them in if you see any.
Today, classes will be starting a few hours later for all staff and students to try finding the majority of the bugs. After breakfast, please proceed to get a container and try finding some bugs. Regular rules apply for going around the school as the staff will be going through the other places that are off-limits to students. Additionally, there will be an added class into everyone's timetables. It will only be an extra hour after your former last class of the day. It's called the Physical Skills & Battling Aspects class and it will be taught by the students that came to Hogwarts from CHB: Percy, Annabeth, and Nico. Alternating every day, there will be half of each house going to this class starting from two groups of first-years to fourth-years and fifth-years to returning 8th years for Hufflepuff, then going to Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor." After that, Dumbledore finished his announcements with some merry conversation, adding in some joyful explanations that reminded me of the first day of Hogwarts many years ago when I just entered the amazing hall. Since then I had gone through a multitude of journies, but it seemed that they never finished. Although this one seemed different from the rest, I knew we would overcome it together like it were a live chess game, or finding Horcruxes around the wizarding world.
"So, you're actually going to be our teacher?" Demelza Robins asked, leaning closer to Percy whose eyes were looking back towards Annabeth and further ahead to Nico on the Slytherin table who still eating alone sullenly. "This'll be interesting,"
"By how come we're the last?" Another member of the quidditch team, Jimmy Peakes asked, his eyes also looking over to the Slytherin table. "Perhaps, it's just because we don't need the lessons so early?"
"Probably not," Said a muggle-born Gryffindor girl who seemed to be only in her first year. "Maybe it was just randomly organized." She turned to Percy with wide eyes. She interlaced her fingers and rested her chin on them. "What are you going to be teaching us? Those cool moves from those martial arts movies?"
"I-uh..." Percy stammered slightly before continuing. "I haven't really figured out a lesson plan yet? I'm just going along with what I think is the first thing to be learned and the easiest. I'm pretty sure Annabeth is figuring out all the small details, so I'm not worried about those,"
"Out of the three of you," The young Gryffindor continued. "Who would you say is the best?"
"Uh...Annabeth?"
"Not yourself, why not?" Ron asked.
"She's just got better skill than me." Percy reasoned. "I suppose there's no reason other than that,"
