The Avatar dived into the water, and, using her waterbending, she created a bubble of air around herself. When Korra reached to the bottom of the ship, she teared up a hole on the titanium plate of the destroyer. After drilling the two layers of the ship's metal plates, she broke into the bottom deck. Pressurised streams of water slammed her onto the walls.

The crew was horrified as they see a person literally poke a hole at the bottom of their ship. Despite the Earth Republic's navy was only founded for a few months, they are made up of experienced metalbender exclusively, as the soldiers closed the opening at an instant.

Korra got up, it was a wise decision to align the two openings at a sharp angle, so she won't slam her head into the celling, as well as protecting her face with her arms. Her eyes scanned around: a large pool of water on the floor. That, she thought, will be enough, as she shot jets of water at the crew members. She froze the liquid the moment the water steams hit their head, encasing their faces into a thick layer of ice.

The avatar knew exactly what to do next, as infiltration needs to be swift and precise. She rushed to the stairs, climbing to the top level of the deck, and broke into the door of the radio room. Just as she expected, the commander was here.

Commander Guan gasped as he turned around, but years of military training made him act on muscle memory. He fired metal shards stored on the back of his armour. The Avatar deflected with a gust of wind; then she followed up with a series of punches, sending compressed blasts of air, to which her opponent had no answer. As the man being slammed onto the wall, Korra trapped his limbs into ice. Then, she picked up the speaker, broadcasting her voice to the entire fleet: "This is Avatar Korra of the Southern Water Tribe, and General of the United Forces. I have captured your commander. Tell Suyin to meet me at the radio room of this ship in half an hour," Korra lowered her voice, "Or I will take his life, so don't keep me waiting."

..

"I want to come with you," spoke Jinora, as she saw Suyin, Lin, Kuvira, along with her aunt Kya and uncle Bumi were about to depart.

"What? You have no idea how dangerous the Avatar is." Lin said bewilderingly, "we were lucky enough to rescue you from her, spirits know what she would do to you this time."

"I know she might be dangerous, but right now we have a greater threat than the Avatar," Jinora objected, "in fact, she might be the only one with power to solve it."

"I saw her in the Spirit World when I was meditating yesterday, "the young airbender continued, "Korra said a spirit called Koh The Face Stealer had fused with a bloodbender and threatened to take away all our faces to create a world without identity!"

"I think our biggest problem right now is to arrest a war criminal who can control four elements and threatens to kill the naval commander," opposite to the airbenders, the earthbenders are generally pragmatic people; like her mother Toph, Lin had always been skeptical towards spiritual matters.

"No." Tenzin spoke, although he is not the most spiritually gifted person as Avatar Aang's child and a master airbender, but he always acknowledges the importance of the spiritual nature deeply rooted in the Air Nomad culture. In fact, that was the reason why he recently anointed Jinora, his oldest daughter with the master tattoo; he knew the airbending prodigy was able to connect with the spirits with ease, something that he probably would never be able to achieve. Therefore, he knew whatever Jinora acquired was not to be dismissed, "this is serious, Lin. We may have a good reason to stop fighting with the Avatar. Koh The Face Stealer is very a powerful spirit." Growing up with his father's stories, he was so familiar with this entity, "Since the Avatar was willing to openly tell Jinora about what she saw, it is only beneficial to bring her with us."

"I agree with Tenzin." Suyin said, "even if we find out that she's lying, what can we do about it?" she looked rather upset, "it's not like we can restrain a fully realized avatar."

"She can't bend Platinum." Kuvira said, her eyes fixed on her platinum arm, "I've been waiting for today for so long." To Suyin's surprise, the Platinum-bender wasn't against the Tenzin's plan, "She won't be able to lay a hand on Jinora and she is going to stand down." For a moment, she looked like determination personified.

"The Red Lotus will come with you," Zaheer requested, "We have quite some histories with the Avatar, and the day when we have to face her is going to come sooner or later."

"I am here." The Great Uniter stood outside of the radio room, "now release Commander Guan."

"And giving up the only leverage I have?" Korra mocked, "No. I only promised to do no harm on his life if you meet me here on time. Listen to me carefully," She stood up from the chair, "here's what I want you to do. First, withdraw all military presence from the United Republic immediately. Second, sign the peace treaty requested by President Asami. Third, inform all other countries about an upcoming spirit attack across the globe."

"Why should I trust you?" Suyin challenged the Avatar, "last time we signed the treaty you broke it right after we left the Northern Water Tribe."

"The young airbender can prove me truthful," The Avatar pointed at Jinora, who was flanked by the Tenzin and the Platinum-bender. The girl responded to her statement with a nod as Korra looked to her direction. Then, the Avatar moved her glance to the Red Lotus, eyes narrowed, "if not for Koh The Face Stealer, I will already be bathing in your blood for you murdering my parents: Chief Tonraq and Senna."

"It doesn't change the fact that you're a criminal," Zaheer retaliated, "you're a monster, and not ending your life at that fateful night is the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life."

"Be careful with your words, this is not a negotiation." Korra generated a pair of fire daggers out of thin air, pressing into the Commander's shoulders. Guan screamed in pain as his skin around his collarbone was melted by the Avatar's scorching white flame, "Are you going to accept my terms or not?"

"Even what you have said is true, you are not going anywhere." Suyin's tone was firm, "you and your president are going to stand trials for crimes against peace."

"I will take that as a no." The Avatar bend the water from the sea, summoning a gigantic wave aiming to engulf her adversaries.
