Ah, fuck my break, you people haven't had your emotions toyed with today.
Emperor Azura Noceda was in her office, signing in a new law, when she heard a knock on her office door.
"Enter."
She saw her brother, Prince Alexander, enter the room with a tray.
"I figured the Emperor could use something to eat." He said, putting the tray down, "How're you feeling?"
Azura let out a sad chuckle.
"You really should worry about Mami. I haven't seen her like this since Abuela died."
"I vaguely remember those days. Hard to believe it was twenty years ago." Alex said.
"You were only eight. I was in my twenties; I remember her hiding in her room for days at a time." Azura said.
"What got her out of it?" Alex asked.
"Mom did. She was there for her; she always knew how to help her." Azura looked at her brother, "I really miss her."
"I do too." Alex said.
In Luz's room, she was in a rocking chair, looking out the open glass doors to the balcony. It had only been a week since Amity's funeral and she just didn't have the energy to do anything. She just sat in silence, every day. She heard the door open and close and her children were on each side of her.
"Mami, we're worried about you." Azura said.
"You haven't left this room in a week." Alex said.
Luz just stayed silent.
"We know you miss Mom, trust us, we do too. But she wouldn't want you to do this." Azura said, "Please, don't shut everyone out again."
Luz stayed quiet. Azura and Alex just looked at each other and started to head for the door.
"Wait." Luz said, "Sit with me."
Alex and Azura looked at each other and walked back to her and pulled up two chairs. Luz grabbed one hand from each of them and looked at the setting sun.
"Your mother and I used to spend every night, just sitting down, watching the sun set. Long before we were even married." Luz said, "I miss her. I miss her, I miss my mom, I miss my dad... I miss so many people. I feel so alone without them."
"Mami, you're not alone." Azura said, "You have me, you have Alex, you have your grandchildren. You don't have to be alone."
"As long as we're here, you will never be alone." Alex said.
Luz looked at her children and smiled.
"You two are so much like your mother." Luz said, "I just know that she would be so proud of you two."
"I have a feeling, that she's proud of you as well." Azura said.
"Will you stay with me?" Luz asked.
"We'll be here for as long as you want." Alex said.
They sat and watched the sunset, unaware that behind them, Amity's spirit was watching them.
"You did a great job raising them." Camila's spirit said, "You must be so proud."
Amity looked at them and smiled.
"More than you could ever imagine."
