Chapter 36: Snows' Birthday

That morning was just like any morning, Snow woke up from the sun peeking over the horizon and shining into her bedroom window. She got up, got Neal bathed and dressed for the day and made her way down to the main level where her husband was making pancakes, of course, she understood his good intent but Snow knew the real reason why he chose today to make a good breakfast and no just some quick cereal or toast.

"What are you doing?" She quickly asked him as she sat down, ready to feed her two-month-old son.

David looked from wall to wall, "making breakfast," was his answer, he didn't want to sound like it was because of a special day.

"Yes David, but why? We talked about this, I don't like celebrating today," Snow reminded him as she rocked Neal as he fed.

"I know, I just thought with the curse ending, you might have thought different," He said with a sigh as he draped a kitchen towel over his shoulder.

Snow shook her head, she understood why he thought that way, but the reality of it is that she would never change her mind about today, her birthday. "Well, I haven't." As Neal had finished feeding, she cleaned herself up, her elbow nudging the small birthday wrapped box that laid on the tabletop. "What's this? I said no presents."

David propped his hands In the air, pretty much saying he wasn't guilty. "It was left by the door this morning."

Snow shook her head as she began to unwrap the gift, her friends and family should all know that she didn't celebrate her birthday, not since her mother's death that was. When she was able to open the small box and see what lay before her eyes she was stunned, taken back, it's been ages since she saw this thing.

"What is it?" David questioned as he saw the look of surprise on her face.

Snow carefully lifted it out of the box, trying hard to hold back tears, but not hard enough as her eyes stung and small droplets were streaming down her cheeks.

"I thought that was lost when the curse hit," David said walking over to her in surprise himself. The last time he saw that tiara was locked up far beneath the castle in a glass case, in a well-secured room.

Snow sniffled as she whipped her tears from her cheek, her son making small noises as he could tell his mother was upset. "So did I," Snow agreed with him as she picked up the card it came with and opened it up to see who exactly would give this to her. "Johana," The card read. The servant who was there for her when her mother fell ill, who helped her when her mother was gone. She was her friend, of course after her mother taught her a valuable life lesson after she caught Johanna trying to wear the crown as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. We are all the same, royalty or not, everybody deserves love and respect.

"I didn't know she was in Storybrooke," David spoke picking up his son so his wife could process everything that was going on.

Snow was surprised, "Neither did I."

"After the curse, Emma and Killian were gone for a while. We were so busy trying to get them home, I guess, we're all still finding each other, it hasn't been easy that's for sure," David explained to his wife.

Snow quickly started to pick everything up, "I have to go," She said as she sniffled a little more, she had to find Johanna, she had to thank her for everything she had done.

David stopped her one last time before she was able to walk out the door, he wanted to say something for so long it was eating him up. "Happy birthday," He said resting one hand on her shoulder and looking into her eyes as the other arm was occupied by a smiling Neal.

Snow smiled, she still didn't like hearing those words, for her it wasn't happy for her it was just another year that her mother was gone, and to realize her mother was gone longer then she thought, after being cursed for ten years, you really don't realize how much time and memories you lost being frozen. "Thank you for understanding, "Snow said as she placed a kiss on her husband's lips and one on her son's forehead before gathering her things and walking out the door to find the woman who helped her through so much.

"Come back to Storybrooke with me, Bae."

Words from the previous night stuck in Baelfires head as he looked out the window as the rain started to pour down outside, his father wanted him to come back with him, he didn't know what to do, it was his father, but his father was always so cruel and brutal, he didn't want that life anymore, it was the reason why he was running his entire life from him.

"What's on your mind, mate?" Killian questioned as he propped himself next to Baelfire.

Bae looked away from him, rolling his eyes, "I'm not your mate, hook."

Killian smirked, "Aye, but you once were, remember, you were a little boy, you came aboard my ship, scared, hiding from your father."

"Yeah, all before you sold be the devil," Bae said, seeing the smirk disappear from Killian's face. "Anyway, why are you here, did he , make a deal with you too?"

Killian shook his head, "No, actually I came to talk to you by myself," He could see the surprise in his face, "If I know anything it's that your father loves you, look what he did to find you? He created an entire curse in this world just to find you one day, he was suffering and I understand what he felt," When Bae didn't say a word or even look at him he continued, "The ten years I was away from Emma was torture, I was so scared I would never see her again, I would have done anything just to get one more second with her, and finally when that moment came that I found her, I had to go through hell just to break this curse and get her to have her memories back, yes we had a relationship while she was cursed, but she didn't know we were married, she didn't remember her son, she didn't remember our story, mate. Your father loves you, that's for sure, most people would give up after so long but he's been looking for you since you were just a wee boy."

Bae shook his head and looked down at his feet before looking back up at the rain outside, "That doesn't change the fact he killed so many people, made so many people suffer for his own amusement."

Killian looked down at his rings on his fingers, the rings he stole from those he killed, "Sometimes we get lost in the darkness and it takes a miracle to let it go," He said as he looked over at Emma and Henry who were snuggled up on the couch. "All I'm saying is, your father wants you to come home...just think about it, think about the pain he had to live through since he let your hand go and left you an orphan."

With those words Killian got up and made his way over to his family, he was happy.

Bae thought to himself, what happens to this man? He was a thief, a murderer, and now he has a family, and he's happy? Maybe people do change.

Johana was fixing the flowers in her garden, removing the fallen leaves from them, making sure they were all healthy when she heard footsteps crunching through the fallen leaves on the ground.

"Johana," Snow said quietly, not wanting to startle the woman.

Johana looked up at her, she was beautiful, she was grown up, she was so surprised to see her. "Snow."

Snow smiled, as she stopped on her tracks, she was happy that Johana still remembered her, she was happy she gave her the tiara, but why? "It's Mary-margaret here." She said, even though since the curse broke nobody really called her that name anymore.

"No, you will always be my dear snow," Johana said with a smile as she let out her arms, taking Snow into a long comforting hug.

"I'd never thought I'd see you again," Snow said through her wide smile and tears as she hugged the short-statured, red-haired woman. She was happy to see her. "Or this..." Snow said digging through her bag and taking out the tiara that Johana had delivered to her.

"Oh, I came across it in Mr. Gold's shop and knew how much it meant to you and knew you had to should have it," Johana told her.

Snow nodded "Thank you," She whispered, she was so happy to have Johana here with her in town, and just as she looked down and saw the flowers Johana was occupying herself with when she came to see her, a swarm of emotions were hitting Snow. "I haven't seen those flowers for a long time." She knelt down to have a closer look, they were beautiful...Snow bells.

"They reminded me of you because they could survive the harshest winter, and you were born during the hardest one of all," Johana told her in her sweet voice.

Snow smiled and nodded, "That's why she named me Snow." It was truly a beautiful flower, they were also her mother's favourite.

"I thought keeping this garden would be a nice way to honour her," Johana explained to the child, well not so much child anymore.

Snow agreed with her with a slow nod, she couldn't help but feel happiness and sadness all at once, she was just surprised this was all happening, "It is."

Johana took snows hand in hers, she was so glad she came to see her so they could have this conversation. "I miss her too," She told Snow as they both looked down at the sentimental flower as suddenly a noise from the woods caught their attention, having them both jump and look behind them. "What was that?"

"Stay here, I'm sure it was nothing," Snow told her friend as she started to tell her no but Snow couldn't live with herself if something terrible was going on in the woods and then suddenly came back to haunt the town. "No, no, please. Please, just, stay here. I'll be right back," She promised the lady before her as she then carefully started to walk into the woods, making sure not to make any noise as she pushed her way past the bushes and twigs.

Coming to a small clearing she saw two people standing in the shadows with a shovel. As she hid behind a tree she watched the two woman like features, as she looked closer she could tell it was no other than Cora... with Regina. So Regina had been lying to them when she said she didn't know her mother was in town, where she was digging a hole in the middle of the woods with her, but why. That was when Snow had heard them both talking about the dark one's dagger and getting it to control Rumpelstiltskin and kill whomever Regina would like. This only meant one thing, Snow and her family were in very deep danger, not to even mention the town itself too.

The rain was pouring down up until they pretty much got to Storybrooke which for some odd reason seemed to have been sunnier than ever.

"I'm glad you're here Bae," Rumple said as he looked over at his son sitting in the passenger seat, who had agreed to come with them back to Storybrooke.

Bae kept quiet, he didn't feel like talking, and honestly the entire ride here he felt like he had made a huge mistake, there was nobody in town that he would even know, or would at least remember him, he had grown up since he left the Enchanted Forest.

"Hey look, there are grandma and grandpa!" Henry said from the back as he looked out his window and saw them standing outside of Granny's talking about something that seemed serious.

"Hey, Gold, pull over," Emma demanded as the driver did so and they all got out of the car.

Snow was explaining to David what she had heard in the woods in back of Johanas that morning, he was trying to calm her down but she was to work up into thinking that this was a fight they wouldn't win.

"Hey, what's going on?" Emmas questioned as she took her brother from her father's arms.

"Oh, Emma you're back," Snow said as she quickly hugged her daughter, finally relieved they were back home and still had her memories. When she saw the young boy stepping out of Gold's car she only assumed one thing, "You must be Rumples son, I'm Snow, Emma's mother."

Bae looked at Snow awkwardly as he placed his hands in his front pockets and looked at Emma, she could tell he didn't like meeting the family he stole from all them years ago. "Um, hi," Was all he was able to say.

"So, what's all the commotion about, mate?" Killian questioned wanting to know what had Snow all worked up just moments ago.

"It's Regina, she's been lying to us," Snow stepped in to tell them the story she had just been telling her husband.

Henry looked dumbstruck as he looked up at his parents and grandparents, "Wait...Regina's been lying, I thought she had changed..." He was so saddened to hear this, especially since he had hope for Regina in changing.

"Henry!"

Henry heard a girl and boy shout his name, when he turned around to look to see who it was, it was Grace, Ava and Nicholas all running toward shim with smiles. "We were wondering if you wanted to come to the stables with us," Grace said with a huge smile on her face, you could tell she had a small crush on Henry.

Emma nodded and scooted her son along with his friends, she knew he didn't want to hear this about Regina, considering he was the only one who really had high hopes for her in changing. "Alright, so you were saying?"

Snow sighed, "She's working with Cora to find Rumple's dagger,"

Rumple stepped back a bit by surprise, almost like he had lost his air for just a second, "They can't, I've hidden it somewhere nobody would ever find it," Rumple explained.

"Well, apparently they think otherwise," David spoke up, giving a glare to the dark one.

"Well dearie, you better hope she doesn't find it," Rumple said, limping over to the crowd, "If she does, well...she can force me and all my power to do her bidding."

"Or, become the dark one herself," Emma added in, knowing that would be the most likely thing the Queen of hearts would do.

Killian shook his head, "Aye, neither one of those options sound good, so what are we going to do about it?"

Everybody but Bae thought about what their move was going to be, frankly, Bae didn't really care, he wasn't here to be apart of their hero posse, he was just here to see if his father really has changed.

Snow gasped as a plan came in mind, "Regina, she doesn't trust her mother, never has, if we can put some doubt in her about Cora's motives, it might slow them down," She explained to the group who all seemed to go along with her plan, it was pretty much all they had.

"And you think she'll trust you?" Emma questioned in a baby voice as she looked at her brother, bouncing him around to make him laugh. I'm so excited to finally take care of a baby she thought to herself.

"Well, she doesn't need to trust me, she just has to listen to me, and I know how to get her to do that."

Everybody looked around at one another, as one problem was solved another one came along, and that's exactly how their lives were now, even if they didn't want to admit it, they all knew, the fighting was never going to stop.

"So, do you think she'll really listen?" Emma asked as she and Snow sat in a booth at Grannys waiting for Regina to join them, they were surprised when Regina actually agreed to sit down with them.

They watched as Regina walked into the small dinner, making her way over to them.

"Alright, why am I here?" Regina questioned as she sat down on the other side of the table, looking at the two women in front of her like she was imagining them being gone, out of everybody's lives...oh wait, she was.

Snow looked at Emma, she was scared to say anything, and who wouldn't considering their past.

"Because we know, you've been lying, and I thought it was time we talked about it," Emma started to the conversation, doing it for her mother who she understood why she was scared of this witch, the woman who tried to kill her with an apple, the most precious fruit of all.

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Regina said with a numb face, acting like she didn't care, as always.

Snow shook her head, "No, no, no, no, no more lying, I know you've been with your mother, I know you're looking for the dagger," Snow confronted her as Regina just stared at her in disbelief, almost like she was caught with murder.

"What I'm doing is my business," Regina scolded the queen and princess as she pierced their souls with her eyes.

"There's a war starting, Regina," Emma told her, she didn't want to be fighting this woman while she was pregnant and she certainly did not want to bring a child into an environment where everything was dangerous, that what she did last time and look where it got them.

Regina nodded, "That much is clear, yes."

"You've earned enough goodwill with me to give you .chance," Snow stated, looking into this woman's eyes, leaning across the table, "A chance to choose the right side, the side of good."

As many times as this woman offered her one last chance or one chance to be good, it was never going to work, Regina was who she was and it was all thanks to that young girl Snow once was, the young girl that got her fiance killed right before her very own eyes by her very own mother, all so she could have a loveless marriage with a king who still loved his dead wife and only daughter. "Have you ever considered that maybe, perhaps...I am good."

Emma almost laughed out loud, what on earth has this woman ever done that was good? Other than helping her and Killian return to Storybrooke, but even then they almost killed her in the process.

"I was always the Queen, it was you who added Evil to my name," Regina told the woman before her.

Snow shook her head, "Good, doesn't do what you do, you made a child go his whole life thinking he didn't have a mother, you cursed us all into thinking we were all living miserable lives, you killed many innocent people, Regina."

"Why? Why go back to being this way after how hard you tried?" Emma questioned, wanting to understand the woman's purpose.

"And what did it get me?" Regina questioned, "Dinner with a bunch of hypocrites who pretend they'll forgive me when...in their hearts they know...they never will."

Snow closed her eyes and shook her head, that wasn't true, they would forget and forgive her...eventually but it took time, especially after all of the terrible things she did in her past.

"You're giving me the chance? How about I give you one?" Regina questioned as a confused look sprung on Snow's face, "Stay out of my life."

Regina started to walk away and Emma and Snow knew they had to say something to get into Regina's mind to make her think twice about helping her mother, "Listening to your mother is a mistake, Regina," Emma finally spoke, hoping that her words would be etched inside of Regina's brain so she would second guess herself.

"Because listening to you will work out so much better," Regina said spinning around in her tracks.

"She doesn't care about you, Regina, all she wants is power," Emma said, trying to convince this woman not to do what she was trying to do.

Regina smiled, "Power is how you get things, and besides what would either of you know about mothers."

Emma frowned, what does she know about mothers? Yes she did have an amazing mother, but what did she know about being a mother, she never got to mother Henry, she only birthed him and then sent him on his way with his father.

Regina walked into her office where her mother was trying to conjure up a spell on a map that'll lead them to the dark one's dagger. "They know."

Cora looked up from what she was doing, "Who darling? Who knows what?"

"The Charmings and their mascot pirate, they know we're looking for the dagger, "Regina explained to her mother.

"Oh sweetheart, don't worry, they won't take us away from finding it," Cora said trying to relax her daughter from freaking out anymore then what she had to at that moment.

"How do you know mother?" Regina questioned, she knew her mother was always up to something, and it scared her because she never knew what was going to be happening.

Cora smiled, "Because I have an idea that will take them away from stopping us."

Cora walked around on the docks of Storybrooke, it wasn't hard to spot out the giant pirate ship that sat at the end of the wharf. With its sails down and clean appearance, it was obvious that the ship had not been used for a long time, maybe too long. But she wasn't here to just look at it, it's what Hook had stored in his ship what she wanted.

Making sure nobody was around she quickly wanted onto the large ship, walking below deck where the captain's quarters were, knowing Hook would hide something like this somewhere only he was allowed to be, nobody else.

"Now, where would he hide it?" Cora questioned as she looking around the large room.

Going over to his desk she started to rummage threw the drawers, looking threw everything in there, she could tell nobody had been staying in here for quite some time, considering everything in his desk was extremely dusty, not to mention the actual dusk on the furniture and bed.

After giving up on looking in the desk and it being a fail she looked around to see where else he would hide something so previous, looking around enclosed captains area one spot felt strong to Cora, going closer she could feel something dark tingle inside of her. His bed. Using her hands she used her magic to prop up the mattress, walking up closer she saw it, a small vial with black goo inside. She found it, the distraction the Charmings needs to stay away from her and Regina.

"So where were you the last few days Henry?" Nicholas asked as they were all at the stables, brushing one of the horses.

Henry stopped brushing his horse for just one moment to answer his friend's question, "My mom made a deal with Rumplestiltskin before the curse broke and I guess she had to pay it by reuniting him with his son."

Ava gasped, "The dark one has a son? How old is he? Do you think he would want to play with us?"

"He's my mom's age, "Henry laughed at Ava, who probably thought this was a new cute boy in town that she might call her next boyfriend.

Everybody started to laugh, not at Ava but with her considering she was laughing too, but next thing they knew the stable door to where they were at with the horses slammed shut, having the horses start to get nervous.

"What was that?" Grace questioned as she started to calm down the horse before anybody got hurt.

"I'm not sure, maybe we should get going," Henry suggested, starting to feel a little bit nervous as there was no wind strong enough to be able to slam the door shut. As everybody agreed and started to make their way to the door they noticed it was locked.

"What do we do?" Nicholas panicked.

"Well hello, children," Cora snickered as she appeared in the corner of the stable, in a puff of black smoke.

"W-Who are you?" Grace questioned as all four of them turned around.

Cora just laughed, "Oh, that's not important right now, sweetie, I'm only here for Henry."

Everybody turned to look at the young boy, why did this lady want Henry, what could he do?

"Why don't you come here son," Cora said with a smile motioning with her hand for the boy to come over.

Henry was scared, he didn't know who this woman was, she seemed nice, to a point, she kind of seemed scary, but who was he to judge somebody? His Great grandmother was the Evil Queen. Stepping closer Henry looked back at his friends that were just watching him, they were just as scared as he was.

"Hey, it's okay, I know your parents," Cora said with a smile, passing out her hand for Henry to take.

"Y-You do?" He questioned.

Cora nodded, "Of course, where else do you think I got this?" Cora grunted grabbing Henry suddenly without any warning, taking a small dagger out of her pocket and scratching it alongside Henrys' arm, deep, deep enough the poison went into his skin. Just like that, she was gone in a puff of smoke.

"Henry!" Grace shouted as she ran over to him.

"I don't...feel...so good," Henry said as his vision started to become dizzy and his body weak, "Get...my...parents." Those were the last words he said when all of a sudden he fainted into the hay.

"Guys, go get help! NOW!" Grace shouted as she sat down next to Henry supporting his head, and holding pressure to his arm. "Please, be okay, please...please!" She prayed as she took out her phone her papa only gave her for emergencies and started to dial the helpline.

Snow, David, Emma and Killian all raced to Gold's pawnshop, they had to make sure that Cora didn't get her hands on that dagger, even if Rumple said it was safely hidden, was it really? Was it hidden away from the one woman that can literally do anything she wanted with her magic, including finding the dagger? As they all ran up to the old wooden door entrance to the shop, Snow tried to open it up, but of course, magic struck her back.

"A protection spell...of course" David muttered under his breath as he witnessed the magic.

"We need to find something equally as powerful to break the protection spell and get in there," Snow stated after her husband "Dark magic."

David shook her head, "Snow, you don't know what you're talking about, dark magic isn't something you can just joke about."

"Cora can't get that dagger, that can break the protection spell," Snow explained, "We need to make an exception and use it, just like Blue told me once before when my mother was dying.

Just then David's phone started to ring, "It's Emma," he said as he looked down at the picture and name that popped up on his screen along with the special 'it's your daughter' song ringtone. "Emma...what? He told you where it is?"

Snow watched her husband on the phone with their daughter, who went to ask Rumple questions since they spent the last few days together, he would probably fo easier on her. When she saw her husband look up across the street from them, that was all she needed to know where the dagger was hidden, the one and only clock tower.

Emma hung up the phone as she sat back down next to her husband at the booth, they were enjoying lunch together, something they haven't been able to do in what seems like forever since they were either falling through portals or defeating bad guys from destroying the town. Her parents said they could handle Cora today while she relaxed, they didn't want her to stress when being pregnant.

"Any luck, love?" Killian questioned as he saw the look of worry on his wife's face as she sat down and took a sigh bigger than normal.

Emma shook her head, "No answer," She said to him. Henry had not been answering his phone, she knew he was with his friends and was probably just having fun, but she still had that feeling that something just wasn't right.

"Don't stress, I'm sure he's fine, love," Killian said kissing the top of her head and placing his hook over her belly that didn't even show she was pregnant yet. "He's just with his friends.

Just then Ava and Nickolas came running into the diner, out of breath, freaking out.

"You mean those friends?" Emma questioned giving Killian a look of 'I told you something was wrong' "Guys, where's Henry?" She questioned, her eyebrows squishing together in a panic as she could tell by their faces something wasn't right.

Ava and Nickolas both looked at one another as they stopped at the table, trying to catch their breath. "It was this lady...she came out of nowhere...she said she knew you."

Emmas face fell, she knew exactly who Ava meant...Cora.

"What exactly happened?" Killian questioned, as he started to pull at his ear, which was always a tic of his.

"This lady came out of nowhere...she said she wanted Henry, so she ended up grabbing him and she cut his arm with something, and then after that, he said he didn't feel so good and faint...Grace called the ambulance...she's with him now." Ava explained in a panic.

Killian's face fell as he took a big gulp, and looked at his wife who was also looking at him in a panic. With no second wasted they both got up from the booth and ran out the door along with Ava and Nickolas behind them, they had to make it to their son, they had to help him before Cora did anything else.

Snow and David raced up the twirly stairs leading up to the top of the clock tower, Emma had told them where Rumple had hidden his dagger and they had to make sure they got it before Regina and her mother did. If they knew where it was that would be the end.

"Is it there?" Snow questioned as her husband raced to the backside of the clock, taking out a tile of glass that lead to the hands of the clock. "It's here! A clever hiding place, for a very clever man." He propped the dagger off of the arm of the clock and paced it along to his wife.

Snow held the dagger in her hand, it was beautiful, silver with embellished black design and his name scripted in the middle, the curvy edges made it different than anything else she's ever seen before. "We did it, the dark one can finally be controlled," She told her husband in a calm voice as they took in the sight of the dagger.

"Indeed he can be," Cora said as she suddenly popped out of nowhere forcing Snow and David to jump back a little from the scare, she was hoping the Charmings would have found out about Henry by now, "But why whom?"

"Cora," Snow grunted through her teeth as she saw the woman before her, she has never been this close to her since she was a child.

"You're too late!" David exclaimed as he took a protective stance in front of his wife in case the woman tried to pull anything.

Cora tilted her head to the side, "Actually, it seems that we found you just in time."

Snow looked over at Regina who was quite like always when her mother was around, you could tell she was scared of the woman and didn't want to get in her way, because it always went Cora's way, never Reginas. "I and Emma told you to pick your side carefully, good has won, just as it always does," Snow remarked to the soar faced woman.

Cora laughed at Snow's words, "I think the days finally come, my darling Snow, for you to learn a long-overdue lesson." With those words Cora whooshed her hand in the air, having a puff of black smoke appear around Johana who was now there and frightened at what just happened, one second she was home, the next between two Evil women.

"Johanna!" Snow shouted as she saw the scared woman before her. Johanna looked at her, confused.

"So you see, it isn't good or evil that wins...but power." With the very last words spoken, Regina had launched her hand into Johanna's chest, pulling out her heart. The woman gasped in pain as the red glowing heart was ripped from her chest.

"Your choice," Cora confronted to Snow.

Snow could feel her pounding in her chest, "Do not harm her! She has nothing to do with this!"

Regina chuckled, "Of course she does."

Johanna shook her head, "Whatever they want Snow, don't give it to them, leave me, Snow"

"Enough of this, surrender the dagger. We all know you'll follow your mother's example, no matter the cost, all she ever wanted was for you to be good," Cora spat, quoting the words Snow had told her all them years ago, in the middle of the forest, in the pitch black of night.

Those words, Snow thought to herself, those were her words she had spoken to the blue fairy when she sought help for her mother who was on her death bed, had blue spilled their secret. "Those words...where did you hear those words?"

"Where do you think?" Cora said in almost a whisper.

"The blue fairy made me swear never to speak of that candle again," Snow said still not coming to the full realization of what was exactly happening, but then it hit her in a flash, "...Not because it was a secret, but because it wasn't her."

Cora took her hand out, "The dagger dear." It was almost a demand, but not just quite, she was still giving Snow the option.

"She didn't give me that candle, you did!" Snoe exclaimed, "My mother wasn't sick at all, was she?"

Cora chuckled at Snow's words, "Oh, she was quite sick."

"You did all of this!" Snow exclaimed in a whisper as she grunted, she was furious, her mother could have still been around today, to meet her grandchild and maybe even great-grandchildren, "You killed my mother!" And that was when she snapped, her voice getting louder as she spoke.

Regina looked over at her mother, was that true she thought to herself? Did her mother really kill the ex-wife off her deceased husband?

"Actually the candle would've worked, you could've saved her," Cora statted, knowing all to well that Snow wouldn't actually take that candle, but how she wished she did that day,

"But you knew I wouldn't!" She exclaimed through her tears, "Why? Why did you take her from me?" Snow wanted answers, what did her mother ever do? She was the purest woman she ever met, the kingdom loved her mother, she never has done any wrong to anybody.

Cora shrugged her shoulders and shook her head, "To make my daughter the Queen, of course."

Reginas face fell and she looked over to her mother, what? What did she just saw? Was everything she ever knew a lie? If her mother never killed Snow White's mother would she even be who she was today? The Evil Queen. "Hand over the dagger," Regina demanded as she gripped Johanna's fragile heart in hers.

"No. No. I will not let you win, not again!" Snow shouted.

"You already lost your mother, how many connections to her do you have left? Not may wagger" Cora asked Snow leaving her with a dilemma.

Of course, she didn't want any harm to come to Johanna, but she also didn't want Cora doing whatever she had planned with the dagger, she had to protect everybody here

"If we give up the dagger we can still win," David told her, knowing they had to save Johanna.

Johanna shook her head, she wanted Snow to protect the town, even if that meant the death of her, "Let me go, Snow. It's alright," She spoke calmly to her, telling Snow she was alright with dying.

"What would she say if she saw you now? If she wasn't dead" Cora spoke coldly to Snow as Regina squeezed Johanna's heart a little more, having the woman groan in even more pain. "The dagger dear," Cora demanded one last time, keeping out her hand for Snow to place it in.

"Enough!" Snow shouted as she fell to her knees as they became weak, throwing the dagger out of her hands.

"Such a good girl," Cora said coldly as she wooshed the dagger into her hands.

"You have what you came for, now let her go," Snow said sadly, still down on her knees in defeat.

Regina placed the heart back inside of Johanna, having her groan one last time of pain. She was just glad she didn't have to actually kill anybody.

Johanna went over to Snow, helping her up as she hugged her, letting her know she was okay.

"Not quite everything," Cora remarked suddenly waving her hand in the air, throwing Johanna out the town's clock, having her hit the pavement below.

Snow placed her hand over her mouth as she saw the dead friend of hers, laying there, lifeless. Her knees buckled once again but David was there to catch her, to comfort her, even though comfort wasn't going to bring Johanna back.

"Well there, you see where good gets you?" Regina questioned coldly as she watching little Snow White suffer from losing another person she thought as family, and just like that they were both gone, leaving snow to sob into David's chest as he held her.

But suddenly that was when his phone rang, having any pain they both felt about to double into even more pain.

"Emma, nows not a good time," David said as he answered the phone, still holding onto his wife, but when he heard his daughter crying on the other end, he knew their day had just gotten a whole lot worse, "What? Okay, we're on our way."

"What happened?" Snow questioned through her tears as she looked up at her husband who looked down at her with sad eyes.

David took a deep breath, he just wanted this all to be over, "...It's Henry." He watched as Snow's excretion fell even more

Emma sat alongside the hospital bed as she watched all the monitors hooked up to Henry, her eyes red and puffy from crying out her heart. Killian sat beside her, wrapping his arm around her so she could lean her head on him. The doctors didn't know what was wrong with him, and that worried Emma, this was her baby, the baby she just got back, and now it seemed like god was just taking him away. No matter what was going on in life it always seemed like they weren't meant to be a family. First it was her being in a sleeping curse and then her and killian falling through a portal and now this. Even before the curse was lifted, the universe was telling her to stay away when it put Killian in the hospital.

"Swan..." Killian said as he saw her parents enter into the room, just moments after calling them about the news.

"What happened?" Snow questioned, hoping they would see her red puffy eyes as a result of crying over Henry and not Johanna.

Emma sniffled, "It was Cora, she put some kind of spell on him."

"Do we know what kind?" David questioned, "If we know what kind of spell it is we can go to Belle and maybe she can look in her books and find a way we can stop it."

Killian shook his head, "There's no stopping this, mate...dream shade, there's no antidote, it's what killed Liam," He said looking down at his sons dark veins.

Emma started crying more as Killian took her in his arms.

"Where would she get dreamshade in this world?" Snow questioned.

"She could have brought it with her to Storybrooke," David suggested.

Killian wished there was another explanation as to how Cora got dreamshade but he knew all to well how she got it...from his ship, this was his fault. "No mate...I know where she got it, it's the only place possible, unfortunately."

"Where?" Snow questioned looking at the pirate who's face was cupped in his palms.

"My ship..."

The room fell silent besides from Emma's residing sobs. They knew it wasn't his fault, nobody would've had any idea Cora would find the bottle.

"Charming...can I talk to you out the room?" Snow questioned her husband.
