"Hello world" Penelope said happily, the camera pointed at herself and Kayo, sitting at a café table. "Welcome to New York!" She panned the camera around, showing the busy streets and the tall buildings and general chaos of the big city.

Kayo took a sip of her coffee, looking a little put out but overall not to unhappy. "We ended up needing to come to Tracy Headquarters anyway," she explained with a bit of a shrug. "Not for whatever Virgil's thing is. He still hasn't told Scott anything about that. But because of some accounting issues that have cropped up." She rolled her eyes.

"Isn't that technically John's job?" Penny asked, the camera evidently in selfie mode to get both of them in the shot. Penny was wearing a cute little pink and yellow sundress with a large sunhat, while Kayo was just dressed in a nice green shirt and jeans again. Although, instead of Kayo's usual ponytail, she had an elaborate fishtail braid, which was different. Penny's hair was the same, which probably meant that they'd gotten it done together.

"John's already addressed the issue, but he thought Scott scowling at people in person would make sure it wouldn't happen again," Kayo shrugged. "He's generally right about that. Plus there were a few other housekeeping things that needed to happen here."

"Housekeeping?" Penny said with a bit of a grin. "She means security issues, darlings," she told the camera not quite conspiratorially. "Kayo's nothing if not fanatic about security."

"Isn't it nice that you can't even tell that there are three of my agents keeping an eye on us," Kayo said wistfully. "Not including Parker." The camera turned to where Parker was enjoying his own coffee while reading on his tablet a few tables over.

"For those wondering, Sherbet is back at the Tracy Penthouse at HQ," Penny said. "It wouldn't due to carry him around with what we're doing today."

Kayo sighed, seeing the opening and knowing what Penny wanted. "And what are we doing today?"

"Shopping!" Penelope said happily. "I'm going to get Kayo to buy a whole new wardrobe."

Kayo gave a long, drawn out groan. "I don't need a new wardrobe."

Lady Penelope shot her a rather arched look. "Darling, the only thing you ever wear are t-shirts and jeans when you're not in uniform."

"It's practical," Kayo shrugged.

"It's boring," Penny countered.

Kayo, in a fit of immaturity, stuck her tongue out at the lady next to her. Penny laughed, getting to her feet and gathering up her handbag. In the background, Parker also got up. The supposed security agents weren't anywhere to be seen, which actually said a lot about Kayo's hiring abilities.

What followed was a shopping montage that would put any old rom-com to shame. The video was sped up, with jaunty piano music put in place. The camera, probably held by Parker, followed the ladies into a multitude of stores and then watched as Penny dressed Kayo up like she was her personal life-sized Barbie doll.

Some of the outfits were thrown in as a joke, like the full Goth attire (minus the makeup, because unlike the movies, there just wasn't time for that) or the clown costume. Penny nearly fell over laughing at that; she hadn't expected Kayo to actually wear that outfit.

Sports attire. Animal onesie pajamas. A full body, latex-looking ensemble that probably shouldn't have ever seen the light of day. And even a full Southern Bell ballgown that was way over the top with the ruffles and bows.

Of course, those were just the fun outfits that would probably never make it into Kayo's closet back at home. (Except maybe the animal onesies, cause those had been incredibly comfortable and Kayo liked comfort more than anything when it came to clothes.)

A lot of the other outfits were actually incredibly flattering and mostly practical. Penelope had stuck with pants for the most part, knowing that Kayo wasn't much for wearing dresses or skirts. There were a few sundresses thrown in, mostly because they lived on an island, so why not. And a few evening gowns, because Kayo was a Tracy and Tracys were known to go to fancy things every once and a while.

But mostly, they ended up trying different pantsuits, jumpsuits and slacks with blouses. There were, of course, some options with jeans as well. Penny wasn't trying to scare Kayo away.

And, because she could, Lady Penelope also tried on a multitude of clothing options. Including the full Goth look. Which looked even more hilarious on her than it had on Kayo, because she simply didn't have the personality to pull it off.

When they were finally finished, they collapsed into a sofa at a furniture store, Parker having taken their bags away and leaving the camera with Penny. "You're exhausting," Kayo complained, looking just as tired as she sounded.

"That was fun," Penny countered.

Kayo rolled her eyes. "I just spent more money on clothing than I have ever spent in my life," she said with a groan.

Penny blinked at her, not quite sure how to take that comment. "You're a billionaire," she stated blandly. "You're married to another billionaire. You live on an island full of billionaires. And this is the most you've ever spent on clothes?"

Kayo turned her head to stare at the Lady, raising an eyebrow. "Penelope," she said. "We mostly shop at Walmart," she admitted.

"Why?" Penny sounded a bit flabbergasted. She was, as had been seen by many on the ThunderbirdsAreGo account, a woman of fashion.

"Practicality?" Kayo replied, shrugging a bit. "We live on an island. We're not in public often. And yeah, we have some nicer clothing for when we have to be. I think the boys all buy their suits from a specific tailor in Italy, to be honest, which usually costs a good amount. But that's for work."

Penny huffed. "This is the Tracy Logic at work again. I would have thought that it would have skipped over you."

"I married into it," Kayo said with a grin. She waved an absent hand. "Want to tell why we're in a furniture store?"

Penny blinked. "Oh. Yes. Of course." She turned to the camera with a smile. "Gordon and I are planning on moving into the Cliff House after we're married, so it needs to be furnished. We're here to get some ideas."

"Gordon's not allowed to decorate," Kayo nodded, straightening a bit. "He has no taste."

"I feel like I should be offended by that," Penny said slyly.

Kayo rolled her eyes, smacking Lady Penelope's arm with the back of her hand. "You know what I mean. Tell the viewers about this new house of yours."

Penny sighed, getting to her feet and giving a bit of a stretch. They really had spent quite a while clothes shopping. The sun coming through the department store window paid proof to that; it looked to be setting. "The Cliff House is connected to the main house via some tunnels, just like the Round House Library," she explained. "And it's rather small. It's only a two-bedroom house at the moment and is being finished by the boys post haste. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It has a living and kitchen area as well. It's about nine-hundred square feet in total." Penny tilted her head to one side, her braid falling over her shoulder. "In fact, it's quite similar to Brains' quarters in size and layout."

"It was meant to be the guest house," Kayo reminded everyone, also getting to her feet with a groan. She was in really good shape, but shopping was an ordeal in and of itself. "Are you going to be comfortable in such a small space? Your manor house is easily three times the size of Tracy Villa."

Penny gave a smile, the look on her face rather content. "I'm going to be just fine, darling," she said. "Apparently plans are being made for Parker to move into the main house?"

Kayo nodded a bit. "He's asked for a set of rooms across from Brains," she said. "So, since the cave is already there, we're working on getting that set up."

"Slow going," Penny said, still smiling. They were wandering around the store, Penny pointing something out every once and a while, and Kayo taking a picture of it on her own phone. Presumably, Penny was using her phone as the camera. "I have a few questions about IR, if you're able to answer them," Penny said softly.

Kayo raised an eyebrow. "From the viewers?"

"Yes." Kayo gave a nod and Penny hummed while looking over a bookcase. Parker could just barely be seen in the background, following at a bit of a distance. "People are curious about the primary/secondary thing that Gordon and Alan discussed earlier."

Kayo tilted her head to one side. "Okay." She thought for a moment, absently taking a picture of the bookcase once Penny gave it a nod. "There are six of us pilots in IR. Six pilots, six crafts, so each pilot mans a specific craft as the primary pilot. However, if that pilot is out due to injury, illness or just down time, than we have someone who is secondary and will take over that craft if needed. All of us are capable of manning all of the 'Birds," Kayo said, looking straight into the camera, "but we each have our preferred ones."

"What if the secondary pilot is also unable to man the craft?" Penny asked.

"Then IR goes offline. If we're two pilots or more down, we generally try to shut down for a bit to regroup. Sometimes that depends on who's down though."

"Who seconds for what?" Penny asked, staring up at a large painting that she was giving an odd look to. She obviously didn't' like it, but it had caught her attention just by how ugly it was.

"Scott is primary for One, with Alan as second. Virgil is primary for Two with Gordon as second. Alan is Primary for Three with John as Second. Gordon is primary for four with me as second. John is primary for Five with Alan as second. I'm primary for Shadow with Scott as second. Alan, technically, thirds on everything with Gordon as his third on Three, but again, if both primary and secondary are down, we usually just ground the 'Bird or have IR go offline for a while."

"Virgil doesn't second?" Penny asked, sounding genuinely curious. She'd never actually asked about the pilot orders in IR.

"Thunderbird Two is our workhorse," Kayo said with a shrug. "She's present at almost every rescue, so Virgil's going to be there regardless. He could, in theory, second for Four, if we could get his reactions to the ocean sounds controlled."

"I'd never considered the ocean as a problem before," Penny admitted.

Kayo gave a wry smile. "Whale song can be heard for up to ten-thousand miles," she said softly. "And Virgil's ears are far better than most." She scowled a bit. "Which is a bit of a surprise considering the amount of times he could have damaged them with blowing things up."

Penny shook her head. "I think we're done here," she commented softly. She hadn't seemed to find anything she really liked in the department store. "You want to tell the viewers how you and Scott have reorganized your living arrangements? They're curious."

"People need to stop being curious about our homes," Kayo said, rolling her eyes. "For the record, the penthouse is just a three-bedroom apartment. It's not even that big. The Tracy family has to travel a lot for work and they have apartments at every major Tracy Industry complex across the globe. It's cheaper than getting hotel rooms and setting up security and everything every time."

"That was not the question asked," Penelope pointed out, as the two of them exited the store and started walking down the street.

Kayo huffed. "No, but it was answering some future ones," she said. "Okay, so Scott and I combined mine and Grandma's rooms on the top floor of the Villa to create one living space. Grandma as moved into Scott's old room. Eventually we may include either the guest room or Dad's room into ours, if we have kids in the future."

Penny gave a nod, humming thoughtfully. "I'd never actually considered how families would work with IR. You all need to be in one space for the organization to continue working."

"Dad thought about it," Kayo said softly. "He built the house with it in mind. The walls between certain rooms were always meant to be able to be removed, to create larger spaces." She tilted her head to one side, shoving her hands in her pockets as they walked. "I think, in the future, Virgil's going to be living down with Brains. That wouldn't surprise me. John's probably going to convert the Round House back into a separate living quarter. You and Gordon have the Cliff House and Alan will probably do with the bedrooms what Scott and I are doing on the top floor."

"I suppose that makes sense," Penny murmured. They stopped at the entrance to a large building, the glass doors etched with a stylistic 'TI'. "Well, that's it, world. Our shopping trip. Just a little bit of fun for everyone. Until next time."

"Goodbye world," Kayo said with a nod and a wave.

And the camera went dark.

Huh. Those ladies know how to shop. Or, well, Penny does. Poor Kayo didn't look like she was having fun

I guess it makes sense that they'd all still live together after getting married, what with being Thunderbirds. That's gotta suck for privacy though.

The piloting thing makes sense. And Kayo's right, Thunderbird Two is at almost every rescue anyway, except the ones in space.

Shopping at Walmart because you don't care about shopping anywhere else is kind of a mood. Lets be real. Besides, didn't they say they did most of their shopping online? Walmart would make that easy. Buy clothing in bulk.

Kayo in a dress is amazing. She should definitely wear more of those.

Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, on her own Instagram, posted pictures of every outfit she and Kayo had tried on, including the joke ones. They were some of her most popular posts to date.

Note: I legit wrote this chapter as a way to see if I could get fanart of Kayo and Penny dressed in fun clothes. I might just draw them myself, to be honest. Next chapter is Virgil vs TI R&D. Maybe. Gordon's clamoring for some attention though too.
