A Miko and Daiyoukai set out to learn the secrets written in the stars and if the hope they find for themselves is truly false, or if it’s all an opportunity for something neither realized they needed.

38. Thirty-eight

Sesshomaru turned silent as he stared at her through disbelieving, slitted eyes.

"Have you partaken in these wishing stars?"

Her soft chuckle floated between them.

"Of course. There was one just before you showed up earlier."

"Good."

His head turned away.

"You shall let This One know of the outcome. I would like to test the validity of these wishing stars."

She laughed. "Yes, milord. This Kagome shall set out to complete your task with the utmost haste."

"Hn. See that you do, miko."

She didn't miss the flash of amusement before he stood.
