Preface: Hello, again! I'm pleased to say that we have finally entered the big rising action of Minecraft Maniacs RPG! Before we begin, though, apologies for not including a new chapter preview last time - I've now updated it! Anyway, this is where things start to wrap up - our heroes are finally gonna be all together, the biggest stakes yet are on their way, and the chapters may start to get a bit longer! I have to warn you, though: there's gonna be a lot of characters, so some may have more focus than others! But for now, let's start the Corruption Saga!

GLITCH'ER THINGS
Previously...with the assistance of future-dwelling fly Buzzer, Danny, Liam, Kevin, and their companions traveled across the most treacherous bits of the Overworld, throughout the magical Unikingdom, in the most powerful worlds of the multiverse, and successfully helped Bluey and Bingo Heeler rescue their parents. In addition to defeating several powerful evils like Doppel, Exetior, and the Greedy Queen, they managed to gather all fifteen Gadgets of Order and assembled a special shrine of the treasures they found from their victory.
Now...Buzzer begins to make sure that the final phase of their quest goes correctly...

She couldn't recall how long she was staring down into those murky waters after seeing that man fall into the water. She thought she saw him being pulled into some kind of vortex, but no matter who she told, no one believed her. They just thought it was another one of her crazy stories.
And yet, whenever she played Minecraft after that event, she always felt a strange connection to that man. Almost like he was in there, waiting to see her again. Like she was meant to see him again that way...

"Alright, just a little more pressure…"
You press a button on your control pad, activating a piston in the contraption that the detotated wam is in. After your last experience with it, you decided that trying to stabilize it first would be a good decision. The piston activates an observer that sends a streak of light into the wam, causing it to glow.
Buzzer looks over your shoulder, watching the stabilization meter slowly go up. "Wait for it," he says as it enters the orange. "Wait for it…" It starts to exit the yellow. "Now!" With a press of the button, the light vanishes, leaving the detotated wam as a brilliantly sparkling spark.
Reading the rest of the data on the control pad, you read that the wam is now in top activation condition. "Well, it looks like we're done!" you say, putting your zombie mask away. You take a trident and carefully use it to take the wam out of the contraption. "So, can we use it to enter that new world now?" you ask the fly.
"Of course," responds Buzzer, "but not just yet. For now, I am going to gather heroes from across the multiverse to team up with us. If we're going to succeed, we'll need at least a few heroes from each major dimension."
"Okay…" you say, slightly confused. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow." With one last nod, the fly spins around and vanishes into thin air. You give a big stretch and are secretly glad that there are no final exams this year. Based on how much Buzzer has told you, this final part of your quest will require as much attention as possible.

[BGM: Junkie XL - A Very Lonely Life]
Sonic dusted off home plate with his mitt. It was a beautiful night for one of his favorite pastimes: playing baseball with himself. It gave him a nice chance to clear his head and think about life. Of course, he made sure nobody was watching besides the mobini that began to inhabit the stands. Secretly, he was embarrassed by this pastime.
"Bottom of the ninth, tie score," he muttered as he donned a batter's helmet and clutched the bat over his shoulder, "and exactly who you want at the plate with the game on the line, Sonic!" He ran over to the pitcher's mound, donned a blue hat with his iconic winged emblem with a ribbon, and prepared to throw the ball. "But staring him down at the pitcher's mound is the fiercest southpaw on South Island, also Sonic!"
Zooming back to his batter persona, the hedgehog began to psyche himself up. "Okay. Focus, Sonic. If you win this game, you'll be the most beloved kid in Hedgehogtropolis." Dashing to the gate, he donned a red hat with the Eggman Empire's icon of the scientist's face, before doing some odd hand gestures and arm farts. "Where'd you get that quill-cut, Penders' Place?" he taunted, assuming the role of the rival team's coach. "Hit it to the guy in left! He's a real spacecase!"
As if to answer the persona's claim, Sonic ran to left field and began to absent-mindedly sniff the daisies while chewing bubble gum. Resuming his pitcher persona, Sonic rolled his eyes. "Ugh, I can't with that guy!" he said, exasperated. Last but not least, he donned an umpire's wired helmet and padded coat and ran back to home plate. "Hey, batta Sonic! Hey, batta Sonic! Sa-wing, batta Sonic!" he chanted, eagerly. The Rickies chuckled at his odd performance.
And then, the game was on. Sonic tossed the ball to himself, before he batted it across the field. He began to run across the field at tremendous speed, playing the role of all the other players on his team and the rival team as they struggled to make sure he either made it to home or was caught. As the Flickies chirped in wonder, Sonic began to think about recent events. Particularly, his first encounter with the Phantom Ruby.
Can't believe that was already maybe one and a half years ago, he thought, tossing the ball to the rival player. And then came a lot of other crazy stuff. There was that war, and then...Infinite. His encounter with the jackal left a bitter taste in his mouth. For a while, he was filled with the guilt of indirectly causing that war, as Infinite had told him.
"Go home! Go home!" Sonic shouted to his batter counterpart, who was heading from second to third base. The Pockies had begun to cheer for him to get home. But after that, I got rid of the ruby, told Unc about the Protoypes, and then there was that adventure in Whisker Haven. Thinking about that adventure caused Sonic to think about all the new friends he made since. Pumpkin, Treasure, Kirby...even Unikitty and Puppycorn! I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Phantom Ruby was the best thing that ever happened to me!
That thought gave Sonic the will to dive towards home plate just as his umpire persona reached down to grab the ball from one of the infielders. He reached home plate, assumed the role of the referee, and called "Safe!" The mobini cheered in delight. Sonic eagerly jumped up and started to dance. "Yes! Did you see that, everyone?" he called to the crowd. "I did it! I won the game!"
[BGM: End]
"Hello, Sonic."
"I WASN'T PLAYING BASEBALL WITH MYSELF!" Sonic turned around and became incredibly defensive as he saw the floating green eye in front of him.
"I'm sorry, what?" asked the eye, confused.
Taking the opportunity to avoid embarrassment, Sonic dusted himself off. "Um, nothing!" He noticed the eye looked familiar. "Say, I think we've met before! Buzzer, was it?"
"Correct," stated Buzzer. "I have already requested your ally Knuckles accompany me tomorrow on a journey into a new realm. Do you mind coming along?"
Sonic thought about the offer. "I guess a change of pace wouldn't be so bad," he said. "It's been quite a while since the last time I journeyed into another dimension, and Eggman's been suspiciously quiet lately…" He smiled and gave a thumbs-up. "Okay, let's do it to it!"
"Wonderful!" said the eye, delighted by the hedgehog's answer. Well, that's one world down, five more to go…

[Current World: Whisker Planet]
[Current Location: Whisker Haven Pawlace, Balcony]
[BGM: Whisker Haven Masquerade BGM]
Pumpkin stared up into the night sky, enjoying the beauty of the stars against the pitch black. It was almost like a bunch of jewels were stuck into that endless void, like what Cinderella's kitten Slipper does. And yet, despite that eternal beauty, that sky didn't seem so...endless anymore.
Ms. Featherbon flew onto the balcony's barrier and set down. "Enjoying the night sky one last time before you head home, Pumpkin?" she asked, looking up with the puppy.
"It's beauty still amazes me," said the puppy, "but...I remember when I used to think there wasn't anything beyond it."
The hummingbird fairy was a little confused. "Whatever do you mean?" she asked, curiously.
"Remember about a year ago, when Sonic and his friends first came to Whisker Haven?" said Pumpkin. That adventure was the first big thrill she had in the kingdom, topping that first day Treasure came and the kitten had to save the puppy from a flooded ballroom. "And then came that adventure in the time machine automobile."
Ms. Featherbon nodded, understandingly. "I understand what you mean, Pumpkin," she said. "I too am amazed at how much excitement we've been through in the past year." She shuddered. "Even when...that demon birdnapped me."
Pumpkin shuddered as well. "Yeah, that was scary…" she said. She smiled, realizing a positive of the traumatic event. "But it did let us meet Buzzer and his friends for the first time!"
"I'm glad you think rather fondly of me," the two suddenly heard a familiar voice say. Turning around, both Pumpkin and Ms. Featherbon saw that the floating eye had popped up once more.
"Oh, good evening, Buzzer!" said Ms. Featherbon, tipping her hat. "What brings you to Whisker Haven at this time?"
"It is time for us to team up once more," explained the fly. "Tomorrow, I shall bring you to the world of my allies in order to help finish our month-long goal once and for all."
"Oh, dear," said Pumpkin, putting her paws on her mouth. "That sounds serious." She began to think about it. "But after what I've been through, I think I can handle it."
"I may even invite Treasure along," Ms. Featherbon added. "You two are quite splenderiffic adventuring buddies!"
"Very well," said Buzzer. "I shall see you tomorrow." He spun around and began to journey to his next destination. Only three more to go…

[BGM: Jun Ishikawa - Game Over (Kirby Super Star)]
Buzzer carefully flew into the dome-shaped house. He wanted to be very quiet, in case Kirby was already asleep. Indeed, the soft-sounding snoring he heard was coming from the pink puffball, tucked into the covers as his green nightcap dangled off of the bed. Hmm, I suppose this one should be easy, he thought, quickly conjuring up a note. The note made the basic explanation that Kirby should come and join the others in their adventure tomorrow and was left on the spirit's nightstand. His job done in this realm, he vanished into the nex dimension just as Kirby woke up briefly.
"That's strange…" Kirby muttered, drowsily. "I thought I heard someone come in." He gave a big yawn and collapsed back on his bed, putting off the thought until morning.

[Current Location: Unikingdom, Unikitty's Bedroom]

"Boom! I get another space!"
Unikitty placed her game piece onto the last spot she had to go to on her roll. She picked up a card from the deck in the middle of the board, thus giving her more property than her brother.
"Aw, dang it, sis!" Puppycorn said with a chuckle. "You always beat me! Even when that Danny guy showed up outta nowhere!"
"It's all about pure focus, baby bro!" Unikitty retorted, poking her head with her hand. But then she thought about what Puppycorn said specifically. "Holy cow! That was months ago already!"
"And I think there was that time where that weird living marshmallow came to the Unikingdom," Puppycorn added, "plus that time we went time-traveling with Sonic!"
Unikitty sighed, nostalgically. "It's been a crazy year, Puppycorn!" she said. "But I think my favorite bit was when we stopped that evil piggy!"
"Well, prepare to do it once more, then," the princess suddenly heard someone say from behind her. Turning around, floating there was someone she hadn't seen in a while.
"Buzzer!" shouted Unikitty, throwing her arms in the air and giving the eye a big hug. "Where have you been?"
"Erm, do you mind letting me go?" asked Buzzer. Sheepishly, Unikitty let go of the hug and Buzzer shook himself. "Anyway, I request that you and Puppycorn join me and my allies in one more big adventure tomorrow."
"Well, if that piggy's out for revenge," Unikitty thought, "I guess we can find some time." She turned around and looked at her brother. "Whaddya say?"
"Yeah, I'm down for it!" Puppycorn replied with a nod.
"Okay, then!" responded Buzzer. "I shall see you tomorrow!" With that, the eye spun around three times and vanished into thin air.
"Wow, a new adventure…" Unikitty said, staring off into space for a second. She turned around as Puppycorn grabbed the dice. "Now, where were we?"

[BGM: Asu01 - Relaxing Afternoon]
Bluey looked out of the window as she and Bingo were driven to Muffin's house. She and her sister had been anticipating the week-long trip for the past week, so to think it was finally time to go was an exciting feeling. "How much longer, Aunt Trixie?" Bluey asked the grey heeler driving the car.
"Not much longer," responded Trixie. "I hope you two are fine with going on another adventure with those Danny, Liam, and Kevin characters."
Bingo squirmed in her car seat. Recently, the puppies had been through quite a bit more than what was expected from their world. A mad scientist trying to exploit their imaginations, a strange entity that was helping the scientist, their parents getting kidnapped by an evil queen… "Are you sure we'll be okay?" the puppy asked.
Trixie shrugged. "Well, as long as you stick with them, I think you'll be fine."
Bluey took her sister's hand. "And don't worry - we're gonna do it together. Big sisters have to look after their little sisters."
Bingo held on to Bluey's hand. "Thanks, Bluey," she said, her tail wagging. Even if they disagreed sometimes, she was happy to have a sister like Bluey.
"I'm still gonna have to take you two to school and kindy, though," Trixie suddenly said. Needless to say, that killed the mood.

[Current Location: Isolated World]
[BGM: C418 - Moog City 2]
The oceans were the only thing Buzzer could see for a while as he went looking for Max, the real-worlder he accidentally sent to the Minecraft world. It had been months since Max had returned to the world where he first came in, so he could literally be anywhere. Maybe he somehow found his way back to the real world…
Eventually, however, the fly found Max floating in the middle of nowhere on a boat. He was looking up into the sky, as if he were keeping track of the sun. The human screamed at the sight of Buzzer, but quickly calmed down. "Sorry. It's just been months since I've seen any form of life."
"No, I should apologize," Buzzer interjected. "I shouldn't have been so sudden." He cleared his throat. "Now, if it is alright with you, my allies have one final adventure before we can finally declare multiversal peace, and I request that you tag along once more.'
Max hummed in delight. "Yeah, that's alright with me," he said. "I haven't seen any land since I got back out here, and I'm even thinking about just turning back."
"Well, turning back isn't always the best choice," Buzzer stated. "For all you know, your destination is right around the corner. But regardless, please stand by and wait for a portal to open." As the fly vanished back to his future, he felt a little at ease - he had finally gathered a few heroes from all parts of the multiverse. Very soon, victory would be within their grasp and his life's work would be completed.
Little did anyone realize that this time, their victory would come at a small, but effective, cost...one that could potentially destroy the entire fabric of reality...

Next chapter: It's finally time to go "Into the Corruption!" The heroes are finally all together, and they're raring to go! The Corruption will task everyone in ways no one has ever seen before, but as long as they stick together, they can conquer them, right? Well, I hope so, at least...but what if a new face shows up?
Postface: Chapter complete! Well, it looks like we're already starting off with a bang! I'm a bit nervous about how the rest of this sage will go, partially due to my recent slow streak and how long the chapters were the first time around, but I've got a deadline to reach!
So, once you get past the fact that Sonic's scene is based off of the scene in the Sonic movie where we really start to feel for him, the main reason why I had all of the characters reflect on the stories I've previously done with them be a bit of a reminder to look back and see where we all started. I'm not sure how many of you have been following me since the very beginning, but I'm a little surprised by how quickly I've been able to et all of my stuff out there - feels just like yesterday I started uploading Chaos Haven! And by having the characters reflect, maybe you can reflect on it, too. Plus, just having everyone getting ready to sleep was too boring... Also, there's not gonna be so much as 'glitches' in this saga. I just named it "Glitch'er Things" because the Stranger Things reference was too good to pass up!
