CHAPTER 39

The healers at St Mungo's didn't get the result they were hoping for. They were able to stop Ginny's physical pain but her magic was still a problem. Every simple spell she tried was weak and useless, and of the most complex ones she couldn't even do one. Harry spoke day after day with the healers putting some pressure on them to find a solution and help his beloved, but no answered was found.

Ginny didn't care that much, she had lived many years without using her wand, she could live many more. The only thing that matter was that she was fine and her children were alive and with an opportunity to live freely their new life. Besides, if what Terry Boot suspected was true, her magic would come back in time, little by little it would be easier.

Two weeks after having awakened, Ginny was discharged. The day she was supposed to leave the hospital she realised she had a huge problem. Hogwarts' term had ended, it was summer break, and she didn't have a house where to go. She had promised Thomas they wouldn't be going back to Grimmauld Place but couldn't think of another option. Her mother had told her they could stay at The Burrow but Ginny really didn't want to, it would be like setting back her life. She thought that if she asked McGonagall, she would be able to stay at Hogwarts, but her children wouldn't like that.

"Hello, Gin." Harry greeted her as he entered the room, taking her out of her thoughts.

"Harry, what are you doing here?"

"I came to take you home, healer Helsing told me you were going to be discharged today." He answered with a smile. Harry was glad his girlfriend was finally leaving the hospital.

"I thought Mom was coming."

"Yes, but I told her I was coming instead. I wanted to talk a few things with you first."

"What things?" she asked intrigued.

"Well… the most important one is about Nott. It was me who left him practically defenceless that day, I didn't kill him, but… well, he was your husband and I didn't care at all…"

"Harry." Ginny interrupted him. She put a hand on his cheek forcing him to look at her eyes. "I don't' blame you nor Dad. Theodore… well, he deserved it… it pains me to say it but he wasn't a good person… and maybe… maybe, this was for the best. Now I can live at peace, my children are out of danger. And I think Thomas and Haley will be able to get over this, and Emma too, but she has it easier, she has you." She ended smiling at him.

"You also have me, Gin, and Haley and Thomas." He assured her seriously. "That's another thing I wanted to talk about."

"Yes?" Harry suddenly became nervous, his face turned red and he starting passing his hand through his hair repeatedly, making it even more messy than it usually was.

"Well, I wanted to change Emma's surname. I want her to be Potter." Ginny bit her lip trying not to laugh at Harry's nervousness, she thought it was cute he was so worried about asking her that.

"That would be nice. I'm sure she would be happy to carry her real surname."

"Really?"

"Yes. Though, I do think that right now is too soon. I mean, Theodore has just died, and like it or not, he was the father figure Emma had for most of her life. Besides, I don't think she would want to do it now, her siblings might feel a little left aside if she did." Ginny explained to him, knowing that mainly Thomas would resent Emma a bit if she changed her name so soon after their father's death. He would take it as if she didn't care at all about it and was complete detached from them.

"Oh, okay, I can wait some more. And I wouldn't mind if Thomas and Haley took the Potter name too." Harry said trying to send an indirect message to Ginny but she didn't understand the way he wanted.

"I don't think Thomas would want to. I'm sure he will take this chance to 'clean' the Nott surname and make it a respected one. And I don't want Haley to change it. I want them to continue being Notts."

"Why?" he asked a little hurt.

"Because they are Nott. Harry I love you, but I don't want my children to erase their history, who they are, where they come from. I'll let Emma change her name because she is your daughter, but Thomas and Haley are a different story."

"Okay. And you?" Ginny finally understood what Harry had asked before. She was flattered but it was still too soon for them.

"Well, it's too soon now that I've just ended one story. I'm once again a Weasley, but I wouldn't mind if that changes in the future." She answered with flirty smile. It was a tacit promise that they would get their lives together in marriage someday.

"We could start from somewhere now."

"What do you mean?" she asked though she suspected where he was going, taking into account their conversation just then.

"Well, Mrs Weasley… eh… your mom… when she told me you would be staying at The Burrow with your children I thought it was… wrong."

"Wrong?" she asked biting her lip, it was really fun making Harry nervous.

"Yes… something like that." He murmured, his face even redder in embarrassment.

"And what am I supposed to do? I don't have a house here in England, I promised Thomas we wouldn't be going back to Grimmauld place, and I really don't want to go back to Bulgaria."

"I have a house!" Harry yelled desperately, he had hated the idea of Ginny going back to Bulgaria. "That's what I was trying to say. I have a house where you, Emma, Haley and Thomas could come to live at. If that's what you want, of course."

"And what about Teddy? I don't know if he would feel comfortable with us invading his home." Ginny asked Harry. She was still trying catch on that he was proposing her something that she had always dream on. Ginny felt the luckiest woman alive.

"I've already talk with him. He loves the idea, he had always wished for a bigger family. And me too. I want you all to come live with us, I want it to be our home, Gin. I've always wanted to have a family with you, and I was an idiot to lose that opportunity before, I won't lose it again." Harry had grabbed Ginny's face with both his hands, his eyes burning on hers.

"Okay." She answered. Harry's face brighten with a smile and kissed Ginny with all his love, promising her a lifetime together.

Harry and Ginny left St Mungo's a few minutes later. He took her hand and made them apparate just in front of the Tonks old house. He and Teddy had been the last two weeks fixing it. Harry had hired some magic builders and paid a fortune two expand the house. He had added three new bedrooms, more bathrooms and make the common spaces bigger.

Emma, Teddy, Thomas and Haley, with Mr Crackers on her arms, went out to greet them when they heard them arrived. Ginny was surprise to see her children there. It seemed that even if Harry had been so nervous at proposing Ginny to live with him, he had also been sure that she would accept the offer.

"Wow, you have made an incredible work with it." She commented after having toured her new home. "The three new bedrooms are beautiful, the living room is perfect and the kitchen is spectacular, my mom will love it."

"You already knew this house?" Harry asked her surprised.

"Sure, it used to be Tonks home. Mom and I came here once during the war. Andromeda needed some assistance with Teddy's birth, and let's say professor Lupin was way too nervous, so she called Mom and I accompanied her." Ginny explained while they all sat around the table while they ate some sandwiches.

"Really? Andy never told us that." Harry said and Teddy looked at her awestruck.

"You were here the day I was born?" the metamorphmagus asked.

"Exactly! It was an amazing day. Your birth was like a ray of light in so much darkness. Just a few days before we had found out that Harry, Ron and Hermione were safe at Bill's home and we had to leave the Burrow to hide at Aunt Muriel's since it was only a matter of time our house would be attacked, now that they were sure a Weasley was with Harry. And, even if I'm eternally grateful to Muriel, it was torture living with her. You remember her, right, Harry?" she asked with a joyful smile.

"How can I forget! She was kind of a rude lady."

"She was a nasty old sow!" Ginny laugh happily, making the other laugh too. "I swear, Harry, I have never met another person with a tongue as sharp as Aunt Muriel's. Though, deep inside, like really deep, she had a noble heart."

"Can we go back to my birth?" Teddy said getting Ginny's attention back.

"Yes, of course, Teddy. The day you were born, Remus came to my aunt's house and told us Tonks was about to give birth to you and that Andromeda needed some help, Mom's help, and I went to because I couldn't stand another one of the twins versus Aunt Muriel fight. In her defence, Fred and George annoyed everybody. So, we came, Mom went upstairs to help Andromeda and I stayed down here trying to calm professor Lupin. He was really worried you would get his lycanthropy gens. To distract him, we played some chess, card games, I bombed him with DADA questions and then asking for Marauders' stories. And that's how we spent hours and hours until Mom call us to meet the new Lupin. You were the prettiest little baby, Teddy. I remember that when we entered the room you had your hair black, as your grandmother's but when I got closer and you saw me you changed to red. Then when you saw Remus, your eyes turned hazel. Remus cried in happiness and relief when he saw you took after your mom and were not a werewolf. And Tonks, was exhausted but didn't want to miss a single one of your changes, she made me take a picture of you every time you switched your appearance!"

"Thanks, Ginny, I have never heard the whole story. Grandma always started crying before she could say much." Teddy thanked her and got closer to hug her. Ginny was surprised but delighted.

"You're welcome, Teddy. I know many stories about your mom, I'll tell you some more later."

"I'd like that."

When Ginny lifted her head, her gaze crossed Harry's. He had Haley up on his knees and one of his arms around Emma's shoulders, Thomas on his other side talking with him. At that moment, Ginny saw the rest of her life. She couldn't ask for anything else. That was what she had always wanted. Her love, her children, her family. Just them.

The end.
