A/N: PLEASE DON'T BE MAD! For those of you that know me… I'M BACK BABY! If you don't… hello, and welcome. I love you, and I'm glad you're here :) I'd use this A/N to provide you with an explanation, but honestly, I don't have a good excuse except for feeling like I lost my voice for a while. I think it's back now, but this might take me some time, so bear with me and enjoy! Also… Oh God. I started this story when I was 14… I'm 22. My writing style has vastly improved. You're lucky I love y'all.

Embry POV: "So what does this mean?" I demanded as I paced back and forth through Billy Black's living room. Quill and Jake were perched behind me, their heads whipping back and forth between Billy and I like ping pong balls, no doubt. "Bella just died in that hospital bed by the hands of the Cullens, which clearly violates the treaty. And she's somehow still alive thanks to some weird, Spirit voodoo crap! Which, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for. But what the fuck is going on?"

Billy sighed and massaged his temple, clearly not sure where to begin with my onslaught of inquiries. I'd apologize to him, but I've never felt so helpless in my life. "Well for one, you're absolutely right, this does violate the treaty," he said. "While the thought behind it was death by feeding or one of them turning another human, they did intentionally try to take human life. We can't tolerate that."

"Yeah no shit," I scoffed.

"Son,"
I turned to see my father standing in the doorway to the living room, his expression reprimanding. In that moment I wanted to tell him to shut the fuck up and stop acting all fatherly, I'd gone without his guidance this long. But I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I took a deep breath and turned back to Billy. "So we fight them, that's the solution."

"Yes, but it's not that simple," he said gravely. "The spirits selected you to be the pack's alpha, that's what Joshua saw in his dream. When this war happens, you must be sure that you're ready to be the one to lead us."

"If it means they'll never harm Bella again I'm more than ready," my composure broke as I met Billy's eyes. "What happened?" I whispered. "She was supposed to die in that hospital bed."

"That's part of the reason the Spirits chose you," there was a twinkle in his eyes now. "When the true alpha meets his imprint, she's destined to live on with him, regardless of any accidents supernatural or otherwise. The only time that Bella would not be saved is if she left you of her own accord. The Spirits would seek retribution."

"Retribution," I repeated blankly. "So she doesn't have the free will whether or not to be with me anymore?"

"Not that kind of retribution," he shook his head. "She would continue to live her life, but in great agony. Her emotional bond to you is tenfold what it was before the accident, now. To not be together would be detrimental to both of you. If one goes, so does the other."

"Dad, what does any of this have to do with the bloodsuckers?"

Billy opened his mouth, but shut it immediately, looking at my father. "I'm not sure I should be the one answering that question," his voice was stoic.

I turned to look at Joshua then, who was staring back at me with a hint of sadness… regret maybe? "What do you know, dad?"

He sighed then, making his way around the couch and standing in front of me, grasping me firmly by my shoulders.

"Son… if you don't fight this war… Edward Cullen will tear through our village and spare no innocents. And he'll make Bella watch before he kills her. And if he kills her…"

"Then I'll die too. And so will the entirety of the Quileute people."

He nods. "With one comes all."

I turned to Billy then. "So it's settled. We'll fight."

He nodded. "I've spoken to Sam already, while you were with Bella in the hospital. He's ready to step down as the alpha. As soon as you give word, we'll close in on them."

"Tomorrow" I said, my voice suddenly booming with finality. "I won't wait one more day beyond that. I want Edward Cullen dead."

Alice POV:

I can't help but wonder if Jasper and I should run – maybe we could take Esme and Carlisle with us. Emmett, as much as I love him, would never abandon Rose – even if she is fucking crazy.

Our "family" doesn't even seem like one anymore. Rose and Edward are constantly off on their own, plotting. Emmett follows them around like a lost puppy and Carlisle and Esme are so ashamed of their children that they've been gone to Denali for over a month now. No doubt that once they heard about what happened to Bella they'd decided to extend their trip. Neither one of them would be able to deal with Edward and his insufferable-ness right now.

It was his decision for the family to leave Forks, his decision to leave Bella behind and allow her the chance at a normal human life. But apparently, his ideal life for her didn't include a pack of werewolves. Not that it should be any of his business anymore.

"You know Alice, no one's stopping you if you want to jump ship," Edward's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. His eyes, typically amber, were as black as night as he glared at me. "As a matter of fact, we'd be glad to be free of you and your incessant conscience."

I heard Jasper growl from downstairs. The flash of fear on Edward's face was sickly satisfying. "Well," I smirked. "If not for me, you'd be dog food by now. Consider yourself lucky."

"Ha," he let out a single, hollow laugh. "Luck would be Bella falling in love with a human man, or allowing me back into her life. I haven't known luck in quite a while now, sister."

"Oh please, stop being so dramatic. If she'd fallen for Mike Newton you'd gladly have killed him. And you refused to change her anyway. You didn't expect for her to spend her entire life growing old while you remain unchanging, did you?"

He shrugged. "She always said that's what she wanted."

"No," I reminded him. "That's what you wanted. She wanted to turn and be with you. And you were too selfish to give her that."

"Selfish?" his voice was incredulous. "I did the noble thing! She wanted to give up her soul!"

"She wanted you! She loved you, and you destroyed her. Being a vampire amplifies the qualities in us that already existed, just because you're the soulless one doesn't mean that Bella would have been the same."

"You have no idea what you're–"
His voice cut off as if from a dead phone line then, and my brain was suddenly flooding with images: the wolves, Bella standing back as they tore Rosalie to shreds, Emmett taking on one too many wolves, Jasper in battle mode and Edward… burning."

"Alice!" Edward's strained voice broke my stupor. "What… what does this –"

"War," my tone was flat.

I guess running is out of the question now.

A/N: I forgot how close I was to being done with this story. The battle will be uploaded by next Saturday, I've officially graduated and am a working gal now, so I have an abundance of weekend time. Yay, I've missed this and all of you. I hope you enjoyed, and that as always, you'll review. Please don't be too mad at me. I love you :)
