"An arrow to the head" Jack said into the air as he thumped the small table by his chair, staring out over the Lake as Ianto looked up from his book with confusion. He was at a good part where the man's hand had been severed and they were unable to save him, clearly the blood everywhere making the child scream… a really good horror. He was almost crawling out of his skin as he was expecting the spider growing in the man's brain to explode from the man's skull. Not 'an arrow to the head' scream in his ear.

"What?"

"Shot in the head… boom. One minute she is opening a window while thinking about apple pie,.. then… boom" Jack leaned back taping his top lip. "A widow, no known enemies. Simply… boom."

"Life insurance? Maybe someone gets the money she offed her own husband for?" Ianto said as he turned a page and Jack frowned at him.

"Did you read this one?"

"Hmmm? No. Just… the cover… a woman in a man's arms as another on glares at them. Reeks of a mistress or unrequited love or something. If she killed her husband for his money, the lover is angry she killer her love and decides to kill the widow off too.. or is the murderer of them both … has to be related."

Jack slammed the book down "shit. Has a bloody sister that acts as pure as the driven snow! Damn."

"Oh… no Jack I am sorry. Did I spoil the ending for you?" Ianto asked with horror, too used to answering questions truthfully to notice Jack was not at the end yet.

"No. The sister seemed… weird all the way though but I wondered if she would be killed next. Now it all makes sense. Some of these book are so predictable. Clearly is you don' t even have to read it to know the ending. Bugger." Jack flopped back.

"Then it sounds like you can write your own better" Ianto said, then stalled as he felt the urge to slap his own face for this.

"Why didn't I think of that? Can't be too had… you've done it!" Jack leapt up and Ianto slow blinked as his idiot mate ran inside for a pad and pen, then leaned back out "Can I borrow the laptop? Might be better to write straight to the laptop instead of writing it out then you having to copy it later."

"Me?" Ianto asked as Jack disappeared again "Me copy it later? What?"

Oh god… he was going to REALLY regret opening his fucking mouth, wasn't he!
