Chapter 39

"The number you have dialled is not available at the moment. Please try again later." I frown as I remove the phone from my ear and look at the screen. I looked to my contacts and select the second number and I press dial. A few seconds later… "The number you have dialled is not available at the moment. Please try again later."

I frown again as I sit in the front office staring at my phone. Why was she not answering? Was she in a meeting? I hear footsteps approach and I look up only to see Hibiki and Laxus walking in.

"Are we going out?" Laxus asks and at this I look up and nod my head.

"We can, I'm just trying to get a hold of Lucy, I need her to do something for me." I say and I see Laxus look up to me with a frown.

"What do you need, can't Aries get it?" Laxus asks and I look to him, he seemed a bit strange since he arrived at work this morning.

"Probably. But I also want to scold Lucy for feeding my kid so much chocolate that he woke me up at two am and threw up in our bed." At this Hibiki frowns and Laxus starts laughing out of the pit of his stomach. "I wanted to call her to come and clean it!" I exclaimed and Laxus just seems to laugh a bit more louder as he shakes his head.

"Did I miss something?" Hibiki asks and we both look to him and shake our head as we continue to laugh.

"The barbeque after the fun day." Laxus states as he pats the younger male on his back.

"I had to go home," Hibiki explains but we all know that he was too drunk too even stand on his feet. "But next time." He says and there is truly hope in his voice.

"I will say this now, no one kept up with Lucy expect Zeref so I am actually scared to drink with them again." At this we all chuckle again. "Lucy won't be here most of the week she had to tend to some family problems." I can see how Laxus withdraws as he says this.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe I'll try and call later." I say as I look to my friend and he just nods his head.

"That's if she has signal. She can send whatsapp messages but she doesn't have signal to call." Laxus says as he raises a brow but I nod my head as I look to my phone and place it in my pocket.

"I'll send her a message then." I manage to say as Zeref enters the office and soon Grey is behind him and Jellal.

"Good morning lads!" Zeref greets and he is way too cheerful for us. Seems like he skipped the hangover that I still had, two days later. "Okay Laxus you need to fess up!" Zeref states grabbing Laxus with a firm grip and I just turn and look as he continues to hold him in a vice grip. "When did you and Lucy get official?" When the words sink in I look down. And I am at a loss of words as I look to our boots now.

"What!" Jellal asks also taking hold of then male in question. "I didn't even know you were going to go for her!" Jellal states as he truly seems excited about this. I watch as Grey finally smiles wide.

"I knew it was bound to happen. Just kept wondering why it took forever." Grey says as He grabs for Laxus and pulls him in for a hug.

"I never admitted anything!" Laxus states and there is a blush on his face as he look around the group of me. "We aren't official as of yet." Laxus shyly says as he looks to the ground.

"Liar." Zeref states as he extends his hand towards him, shaking it, almost like congratulating him. I have a bitter taste in my mouth as I rise to my feet and I walk to him also extending my hand. "I see you two sitting and talking all the time." Zeref says and at this Jellal furrows.

"Honestly speaking Lucy treats us all equally, if you look at it." Jellal says but I still grab onto Laxus hand and shake it forcing on a fake smile.

"But she hugs him." Zeref says and then he stops and furrows his brows. "Wait she hugs us all. I take it back." At this we all laugh.

"I do plan on asking her out on her birthday later this month." At this I raise my brow and nod my head. "You know to officially be my girlfriend."

"I have no doubt she would not agree." I say and I know it is forces and I don't even really mean it but it goes unnoticed to everyone.

"What are you going to have this big confession?" Hibiki asks and at this Laxus just chuckles.

"No, I just plan to take her to a dinner and a movie, the old way of romancing." Laxus says and at this Grey chuckles.

"Well IT Two is showing in cinemas and she would like that." Grey states and I nod my head, she would love that.

"We should actually ask Mavis if we can work in civilian clothes and then, I'll tell Lucy me and Lisanna will take her out for dinner and then you can surprise her with a romantic dinner and movie." I manage to say and it was like Laxus' eye lit up at the idea.

"You would do that?" He asks and even though I didn't want to, I didn't want to ever see them together, let alone see her with another man except me I smile and I nod my head.

"Yeah. What are friends for?" I say and at this Laxus just smiles and shakes my hand, pulling me closer for a hug.
