Chapter 38

They were both running through the living room when they saw two people and froze.

Natasha and T'Challa were both standing in front of the elevator door with their arms crossed. The expressions on their faces told Ali that they had no idea what they were planning but they did know that they were planning something.

"No destroying the tower."

They both kept their arms crossed as T'Challa spoke.

"Is that it? We just can't destroy the tower?"

Honestly Ali was puzzled. She could think of a lot of things that were to the same scale or worse than destroying a building.

"Damm it! Plan C has been ruined."

Ali had no idea what Shuri was talking about but the look on her face told her that she had just half lied. What she had lied about Ali wasn't sure, but it was either having a plan C, the plan C being to destroy the building or that she was even considering destroying the building.

Instead of staring at the Shuri in confusion, Ali decided to step in.

"We still have Plan F which is almost as good as Plan C."

"Or we have Plan I but that doesn't produce the same effect as Plan C."

Natasha unfortunately wasn't falling for their lies but Shuri's brother was, and he looked absolutely terrified.

Both didn't want to be the victims of more pranks though so wanted to make an escape as soon as possible.

"No trouble!"

It was mainly directed at Shuri but the look that Natasha was giving Ali told her that the message was meant for both of them.

Fortunately for the pair Natasha and T'Challa moved out of the way of the elevator to let them get in it.

Just before the doors closed Natasha felt the need to say something,

"Stay out of the eyes of people!"

She shouted it as the doors closed. Ali was of course going to take those words to heart since she understood why her Mamma had said them.

The mood had been dampened by the two adults but by the time a few memes had been said and they have reached the ground floor both had evil grins on their faces.

The elevator opened up into a room which was quite busy. Ali quickly grabbed a hat from a cleaning trolley that had been left in a corner closest to the elevator. She also quickly changed her eyes to blue for good measure.

Shuri led the way to the far corner of the room where a sofa stretched along the length of the wall. People were bustling around the room but only one was sitting on the sofa. A big bucket sitting next them.

"I have brought the fifty chicken nuggets as requested."

"Thank you, Okoye. Oh, and this is Ali my accomplice."

"It is nice to meet you Okoye."

"Please do not wreak to much havoc with those."

Okoye pointed to the chicken nuggets before she got up off of the sofa and started to make her way towards the door that led out onto the street. The clothes that she was wearing were American clothing and they were incredibly uncomfortable.

Just before she opened the door she said,

"If you need me, I will be at Starbucks."

With that she left through the door leaving the pair with 50 chicken nuggets and a plan to confuse at least one Avenger.

Ali grabbed the red bucket full of chicken nuggets while Shuri lead the way back towards the elevator. Once the doors had opened the two stepped in and both took a chicken nugget from the bucket and started eating them. After all, 50 chicken nuggets was probably plenty so it wouldn't matter if they ate a few.

"FRIDAY can you take us to the garden viewing area please."

"Certainly, Princess Shuri."

Looking shocked Ali turned to Shuri and said with her mouth still full of chicken nugget,

"There is a garden!"

"Yes, but only the Avengers are allowed down there. They class it as an outdoor training space but really it is just a massive empty field. It can't be seen by the public or by those who don't have access to it, so they use it to show off."

The elevator was going up but soon stopped. The doors opened to reveal an almost empty room. The only things in the room were 2 sofas right in the middle of it. The wall directly in front of the elevator was glass but there was a door in the far corner that led to a balcony that the massive window overlooked.

Shuri, once again led the way over to the door before opening it. The two stepped onto the balcony which overlooked a grass field the size of a football field. Around the outside of it was a concrete path.

Just before Shuri went to take another chicken nugget, Ali pulled the bucket full of them out of her reach.

"I don't think we have enough of these even without us eating half of them."

"We aren't going to cover the whole field! Only the concrete areas because that is where they are most likely to be spotted."

It sounded like a good plan but at the moment they were on a balcony that was 5-stories high. There was no way to get from the balcony to the ground safely.

"Okay, so you can put the bucket on the ground and then come back for me."

Ali had no idea what Shuri was talking about so looked at her blankly hoping that she would reveal how on Earth she was supposed to get down there without dying.

"You can use your powers to levitate stuff so just levitate us both to the ground."

Shuri sighed as if what she had said was the most obvious thing in the universe and she couldn't believe that she was actually having to say it.

"You do realise that I have never levitated anything heavier than a book. Right?"

"Yes, but what really is the difference?"

"The WEIGHT! I don't want to be responsible for killing Wakanda's only heir!"

"Don't worry I trust you. Also, I have the technology to prevent me from dying. The only other ways to get down there are through the labs or through the main living room. For this to work and be successful this is our only option."

Ali sighed but decided to first try and levitate herself. After a few tries she was able to levitate completely off the ground with the bucket of chicken nuggets without feeling like she was going to fall.

She carefully levitated herself over the balcony and started to travel down. After about 4 floors she felt that she was really starting to get the hang of it and so looked up at Shuri with a smile on her face.

That was the wrong thing to do because she lost her concentration and ended up falling.

Luckily the ground was soft after the rain that had happened yesterday and so Ali wasn't anywhere nearly as badly hurt as she could have been. That didn't mean though that she wouldn't have bruises tomorrow.

Looking back up at Shuri she felt a lot less confident than she did 5 seconds ago about Shuri's plan. If she lost her concentration for even a second, then Shuri could die.

Unfortunately for her Shuri saw her expression and decided to take matters into her own hands. She climbed over the fence that stopped people from accidental falling off of the balcony and sat on the top of it with her feet dangling down ever nothingness.

She made sure that Ali was watching her before she leaned forwards and put one of her feet flat on the air below her.

After a few seconds she started to shift her weight onto that foot. It felt like her foot was stood on something but looking down Shuri couldn't see anything.

Before letting go of the fence completely she put her other foot into the air and again it felt like she was standing on something. She let go of the fence to find herself standing with her feet shoulder width apart in mid-air.

Carefully Ali lowered Shuri to the ground and didn't lose her focus once. Shuri landed a lot more gracefully than Ali did.

"Told you, you could do it. Now we need to hurry up and plant these before anyone comes down here!"
