Nico POV:

That morning, Snape was giving a small lecture on a variety of dark creatures. His voice sounding so sombre, yet at the same time somewhat pleased as he spoke. It seemed that most people were more energetic after Dumbledore's announcement earlier of the new class despite mostly everyone having a lack of sleep. There was a sudden thwack on the back of my head as Snape walked to the side to ask a student a question. Ignoring it, I continued to write. The next moment there was another. Percy and Annabeth looked to the crumpled balls of paper on the desk, frowning. "For a school of magic," Percy murmured. "The bullies have mortal ways of bullying."

"Just ignore them," I mumbled. "They're not after you,"

The next paper ball was caught in the air in Percy's hand. "Quit it," He whispered under his breath. At this moment, Snape turned around with a sneering smile on his face. "Have you been paying attention, Jackson?" He jeered. "I assure you. Although, you may be considered a professor; however, in my eyes, you are still a student just like any other. If you are done crumpling balls of parchment, then perhaps you could give an explanation of the dark creature I had just started speaking about,"

"Um...yeah," Percy looked back to his notes, his brow furrowing slightly. "Um, they live on the ground...they eat...bark,"

"How about you start with their name, perhaps you can get that right," From the side, several students became to chuckle. From one side, Harry Potter seemed to be trying to mouth out the name while Ron Weasley seemed to be trying to get some sort of confirmation from Hermione Granger.

"Capricorn?" Percy guessed.

Snape's lips curled into a content grin hidden behind his curtains of oily hair. "Wrong as expected. You best start studying hard. Just because you are a foreign student, doesn't exempt you from tests. Let's see what has you so distracted," His fingers slowly opened the paper ball, the creases becoming more clear as it unravelled. "Hm, why it seems you're more of an artist than a wizard, Jackson." Snape turned the piece of paper over shown a messily drawn picture of I'm guessing me. "I wonder, is this a self-portrait?"

"I think I look fine," Percy said, then pointed towards the back. "But you should ask them. They're the artists behind this masterpiece,"

"And pushing the fault onto another?" Snape tutted a few times. "You are truly a disgraceful student. 5 points from Gryffindor. Now, back to the lesson,"

Percy looked at the paper that Snape slammed onto the table for a while then shook his head. "Again, such a mortal way,"

"Would you like a magical way? I heard they made pins or something one year," Annabeth said.

"I would rather no way,"

I gave a sigh and turned to look out the window. Outside, the rain was drizzling onto the panels while the grass swayed with the heavy wind. It seemed like the perfect ominous and dark scenery for something unexpected to happen. Unexpectedly, as I thought this, it actually happened. From the distance, another figure came closer, their long hair was filled with grim and mud that caused it to stick to their skin, and have bits of it flail around because of the wind. They seemed to be wearing some sort of tattered clothing as they came closer, their footsteps shaking intermittently. "What in Merlin is that?" A Ravenclaw student asked before turning to her friend and whispering a few of her assumptions.

"Looks like they swam in a lake full of mud," I heard Ron nearby say, then ask Hermione if there were any lakes like that nearby to which she replied with a few words of knowledge. Annabeth looked to us, her brow slightly furrowed while she thought. "It seems to be a human figure,"

"Well," Percy replied. "At least, we know it's not a monster attack,"

By now, Professor Snape had also come to the window. His sunken eyes glinting like fierce lamplights before heading out the classroom. In a few moments, the grotty person found their way to the wall. The mud was caked on top of them so thickly that it was impossible to tell who they were or their facial features. "It's me! I'm back!" The voice was somewhat higher-pitched so a common assumption would be that she was female.

"Who is she?" That same Ravenclaw girl asked. Her pimple marred face was twisted in disgust as she moved further from the window.

Percy waved a hand. "Who are you?" He asked much more directly. Annabeth turned to look at Percy with a raised eyebrow and a friendly smile as though to say: I thought all our experience from doing demigod stuff would stop you from openly asking a random person who we don't know that is walking towards a secret magical school covered in mud.

Percy just smiled back.

"It's me!" The person yelled again, placing their hands on the glass window. They banged on it a few times, blinking repeatedly trying to get some of the mud off. "Lavender Brown!"

A series of ohs went through the room. There were already a small number of resurrected students at the school, and another one didn't add another rise of commotion like what happened when it first started. The only thing that was more exciting this time was probably how the student returned—coming back to the student looking as though they had just taken a bath in a swamp.

"Who?" Percy asked. "I'm guessing we don't know her,"

"You probably don't," Harry explained. "She was a student at Hogwarts, but died in the final fight against Voldemort,"
