Whew, this is gonna be the longest chapter yet, you guys ready for it? I sure hope so!
Onto reviews...
Fantom Knight: You have some very good points there, William does not usually have good intentions.
PK - SPRINGTRAP HUG MEH: Oh yeah, they are definitely jealous.
TU4QU0I53T4AN6L3: Can I just say? I super appreciate all your long reviews! I love to here what you guys think! Anyways, Ah yes, Springtrap as a waiter, we will just have to see how that goes huh? With him being around the children like that all the time...not sure if it's a good thing or not. And Leo's past? That I will continue to reveal as time goes on.
Thank you so much you guys! The support for this fic means so much to me!
I own nothing but my characters.
Credit to my bestie for helping me out with each chapter and listening to my often outlandish ideas.
Chapter 39
Right Under Our Noses
When the night came, it was a relief to all, no more children, no more possible incidents. Ashford left right as his shift ended, sending an uneasy side glance to William before exiting quickly.
William didn't mind, the man seemed flinchy around the other animatronics as well, so it wasn't just exclusively him.
Enix however, that man could prove to be a problem down the line.
Being around all those children today...it was just like the old days. Before everything had happened, before chaos hit the fan.
Sometimes, rarely, he would almost feel nostalgic for the old times. When he thought back on the early days, when he was in business with Henry, the two of them would get dressed up in those suits and go out entertaining the children.
It was so simple, two men and a business.
But...Henry never understood, he never understood what William needed to do. What he had to do. The man was too simplistic, he couldn't comprehend the things that William was dreaming up.
But alas, it was all in the past. A past that was long forgotten among the dust and cobwebs.
Now he had to look forward, and ensure his plans for the future would go off without a hitch.
It was all he had left now.
He had sacrificed everything for this, and he had to ensure that it succeeded, or everything will have been for naught.
The animatronic man was sitting on one of the tables, watching as the animatronics from both generations seemed to be setting out some kind of board game. If William had deciphered their words from before correctly. Then this was some mutated form of poker.
It was strange, he still remembered when the suit on him was nothing more than one of two sketches on a napkin he had lazily modeled when in the Italian place down the block.
His children had been rambunctious as usual, and Emily's and the Byrds' children had been only feeding the fire of energy.
It was chaotic, and the place was not suitable for children running around.
Perhaps that's what had inspired the idea initially. Cause before he had known it, a bear and bunny sketch had laid before him.
He had thought about going to that restaurant a million times and commenting that they inspired the place that had put them out of business.
But they were put out of business...so that was impossible.
He remembered back in the day, things were peaceful, it was a brand new place, where everyone felt safe.
It was strange to think that it was his own hands that ruined that all.
"Scott?" Leo's voice pulled him from his thoughts and the animatronic man looked over at him.
"Yes?" The guard looked him over a moment before taking a breath.
"The others are playing poker, do you want to join them or…?" He offered, and Springtrap gazed at him a moment before looking to the others.
He could, he could make them all uncomfortable and edgy, but he didn't want to push the children. If they said anything, it could ruin everything. He turned back to the guard and got to his feet.
"I'm alright, I was never a big fan of poker anyways." The man gazed up at him and then over to the others, William watched him curiously, wondering what his choice would be.
Finally Leo turned to look back at him, "I just recently read a book that I think you'd find interesting. Wanna hear about it?" If William could smile anymore, he would.
"Oh? Now you've made me curious." At that Leo chuckled and started heading toward the office, only to stop as Joey and Acid entered the building. William glanced over to Andrew and took a breath before turning back to Leo, but the man had already went over to Joey.
"Hey! He is up and running perfectly! You did such a good job! I love the mouth movement, how did you manage that?" The guard asked, and the woman blinked her eyes widening in surprise before glancing back at Springtrap who gave a little wave. She turned back to Leo and shrugged.
"I dunno, it wasn't that hard really." She rubbed her head, and William squinted a bit, it was the same spot that Andrew had hit her at. Acid seemed to notice a well but then chuckled and swung an arm around her shoulder.
"She's a genius ain't she?" He grinned and Leo nodded with a breath.
"You're telling me." Then Enix came over and took a breath.
"I take it the both of you were in on it as well?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. Acid chuckled and grinned.
"Yep!" He then leaned in and smirked at Enix, "feeling left out huh?" Enix could only give a terse smile in return. Acid chuckled and pulled away before hopping and going over to where the animatronics were. He leaned in to see what they were doing. William, Leo, Joey and Enix watched as he tried to convince them to let him play.
"So, you here to work on the Puppet?" Enix asked, and William turned to look back at the humans among him.
The woman nodded, taking a drink of her coffee and then yawning afterwards.
"Mmmhmmm..." She stretched and took a hard breath before drinking more coffee and heading to backstage where the Puppet was being kept.
William watched her go and knew that he had to talk to Andrew about making sure the bot was never fixed.
Or at the very least. Until his plans were complete.
"Well, I'm going to play moderator for the bots, you wanna come Leo?" Enix asked, turning to his fellow guard, Leo looked at William before back to Enix.
"Er, I think I'm going to hang out with Scott tonight." He said and Enix glanced up at William who dipped his head in response.
It was all he could do besides blink.
"You sure?" The blue haired man asked turning back to Leo. Then looked at Springtrap again. "No offense, by the way." Then he turned back to Leo, "but the others have missed you." He voiced and William watched the shorter guard's reaction with interest.
Leo paused glancing at the animatronics before taking a deep breath and turning back to Enix, "I don't know...we kinda got into it earlier. I'll talk to them tomorrow." Then, without another word, he headed to the back, Springtrap followed quietly.
This was going swimmingly.
Leo took a breath as he entered the office and slumped into his chair. His eyes flickered up to the posters and newer...less demented and creepy drawings. Alder seemed determined in rebranding, and this was one of the ways he did it.
The familiar sounds of gears whirring made Leo look up and watch Scott duck into the office and come inside.
"I'm sorry Leo, I didn't mean to cause a conflict between you and the others." He voiced and the guard let out a breath gazing at the ceiling and resting his head against the back of the seat.
"No. I feel like this was gonna happen anyways." Then he paused and looked at him, "I just realized, we don't even have chairs for you guys to sit on. I can't imagine getting up off the ground is easy." That last part was a bit more mumbled. Scott blinked and looked down at himself before back at Leo.
"I suppose, sometimes it's hard on the joints. The suits were never made to sit down. It's just kinda...happened. I believe however. Mine is more equipped for mundane movements like that." He explained and Leo nodded after a moment.
"That could prove to be beneficial, especially with you working as a waiter. I noticed today that your movements are a lot more fluid then the other bots." The guard supplied and Scott nodded and then shrugged.
"Perhaps it's also because I was once human? And have full control of the body?" Ah that Leo nodded and took a breath looking out the other door.
"Yeah I can see that." Leaning back in his seat the guard gazed up at the ceiling with another breath.
"You seem more uncomfortable around the other animatronics." Scott voiced, causing the guard to look at him once more before away and shrugging a bit.
"I dunno, with them talking about me behind my back and stuff...I just...don't know where I stand with them anymore. Like...do they want me around? Am I annoying or bothering them?" Then he huffed and rubbed his face, "and then I'm like, Leo, you are being stupid, you need to chill and just talk to them about it. But...that's the last thing I want to do." He mumbled, and rubbed his face before slapping his cheeks with a breath.
"One thing to remember about the others is that in the end, they are robots. They can't comprehend humans all the time. So they do get annoyed and aggravated. It's not your fault, it's them. Honestly I expected this for awhile now. Their tolerance is pretty low." The animatronic man explained causing Leo to look at him and look away, his shoulders slumping.
"...I thought we had a good thing going, I guess...I was the only one who thought so."
"Don't feel too bad. I like you well enough." The bunny gave a shrug and Leo looked at him shaking his head amused.
"Oh gee thanks." All he got in response was a chuckle.
The night passed peacefully there wasn't a issue, Leo stayed with Scott talking and playing cards, it was different with him. Scott was...scarily good at poker.
Leo never knew when he was lying.
Though the lack of facial expressions probably helped as well.
It was nice, not having to worry about footsteps coming down the hall, or if someone popped in. Enix came in a few times, though Leo wondered if he was just checking to make sure they weren't doing anything they shouldn't.
Leo wanted to chuck something at his head.
He wasn't a child that needed to be watched.
However, the night went peacefully, and Leo enjoyed himself, which was quite unusual.
Six came by faster then he thought it would, and normally he would just stay and continue to hang out with Scott. But his body felt weary and weak. All he wanted to do was crash at Enix's place and conk out for the day till their shift began.
Scott seemed to notice his exhaustion.
"It's probably best that you go rest up at Enix's place. A few hours of sleep is better than no sleep after all." He proposed, and Leo paused before nodding a bit and yawning.
"Yeah...dunno why I'm so tired tho, I napped earlier yesterday..." He mumbled, rubbing his face.
There was a chuckle from his animatronic friend, "your body will get more tired easier when you aren't consuming the nutrients it needs." He advised and Leo stiffened up before frowning up at him.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm not going to pester you about it, but I have noticed that your weight is not where it needs to be. As your friend...I just want to make sure you are alright, but ultimately, I suppose it is up to you." He shrugged, and Leo gazed at him a moment before huffing and rubbing his face roughly.
"Not you too..." he groaned in complaint.
The rabbit raised his hands in surrender, "as I said, I'm not pestering, just concerned is all." Leo looked up at him from the corner of his eye and took a breath resting his jaw on his arm that was propped up by the arm of the chair.
"Yeah...yeah...whatever." With a deep breath he got onto his feet and stretched. "Well, I better go see if Enix will let me crash there." He gave Scott a mock salute, "see ya later, just be mindful of the others alright?" The animatronic nodded in response and Leo nodded as well. Then the guard headed out of the room with the bunny following.
He found Enix talking with Fred, but the man stopped at their entrance and looked up and over.
"Oh, hey Leo. I was about to head out soon...are you wanting to come or…?" His eyes fell on Scott, and the older guard resisted rolling his eyes.
"Yes, I feel like I'm going to fall over. It's probably best if I do." He shrugged and shoved his hands in his pockets bunching up his shoulders. Enix nodded and got to his feet.
"Joey said the Puppet is coming along nicely." The man brushed off his pants and rolled his shoulders standing up straight. Leo lifted both brows and let out a breath.
"Really? That's good." he wasn't sure if it was...good. Which was a horrible thing to think. But they were already uneasy with Scott, and if the Puppet came in and was all up and in arms about who knows what...then things could get real bad real fast.
Leo wished things would just go smoothly...but this would be a process.
Enix just nodded, not knowing about his doubts and took a breath gathering up his things.
"Okay, everyone be good, no beating each other up and..." He glanced around before taking a breath and looking at the animatronics. "Keep an eye on Acid alright?"
"I can watch him if you like." Scott offered, and Leo looked back at him, Enix following suit.
"Really? That'd be great Scott. Thanks." Leo interjected before Enix could protest.
He ignored the look he got from the man. Scott nodded dipping his head a bit, Leo was slowly figuring out that when he did that he was attempting to smile.
"Uh...yeah, thanks." Enix mumbled, before taking a breath and heading out. Leo have Scott a thumbs up, and followed after his taller comrade.
He tried to ignore the others watching him.
Leo hated it when he had to get ringing out of his ears, it was practically impossible, and every time he got on Enix's bike it happened.
So currently he was smacking the side of his head like he had gotten water in his ears.
"Leo...what the **** are you doing?" Enix asked as he turned to face him before he unlocked the apartment. Leo paused and looked up at him.
"The ringing won't stop. Your stupid bike is going to bust my eardrums." He grumbled, and Enix could only chuckle and shake his head opening the door.
"You don't like Cobalt? That's my baby Leo. For shame." He shook his head with a clicking of his tongue. Leo stuck out his own tongue at him before following inside.
"I think it's still weird you name everything." He muttered before going over and collapsing into the couch.
"Hey, it helps when ya live alone. It's better to say oh Agnus, can you hurry up with my toast, than, **** my toaster is slow." The man explained before setting his keys down and pulling up a chair. He sat in it with a breath. Leo paused at the explanation and took a breath.
"Guess that makes sense." He paused again, his brow furrowing, "I had named something once...a long time ago. I think I was a kid or something...I had, er, I think it was a stuffed animal of sorts? I dunno, it was awhile ago." He muttered toward the end and gazed out the window. The apartment didn't have much of a view, but at least there are no bars.
That thought made him turn away shaking his head a bit.
"Oh? The alleged time when you were a kid huh? I thought you were just born grumpy." The man sassed from his place by the kitchen bar. Leo rolled his eyes and took a breath gazing at the various coffee stains on the table.
Those weren't his. That he knew for sure.
"Har har..."
"...ya know...you never talk about your family." Enix suddenly voiced, and Leo paused looking up at him before away again.
"There isn't much to talk about. I don't remember."
"Nothing? You don't remember anything about them?" He pressed, and Leo let out a hard breath shrugging.
"I dunno okay? All I know was that I was imprisoned for selling drugs, assault of some kind, and other petty stuff. I got out, moved as far away as I could. Ended up in some backwater town in the middle of Utah. Had to get a job, Freddy's was the only place that would hire me." He shrugged and took a breath looking out the window again. "I only know my last name cause it's what the warden's called me. And I honestly don't know if that's a good thing or not." He muttered, and Enix paused before leaning back in his seat.
"You never wanted to try and contact them? Find out who they are? They gotta be worried sick."
But those words made Leo pause, and despite Enix making logical sense. Leo knew that it wasn't factual.
"No. They aren't." The words slipped out of his mouth before he even knew what he was saying.
How did he know that? How could he possibly know if he didn't remember?
It seemed Enix shared his questions, "but how do you know?" He pressed, and Leo sat there not sure how to respond. How did he know?
Well...he did know that nobody visited him while he was imprisoned. Nobody called or asked for him. Which had been a strange thing. To sit there and watch as people were called for their visitations...and no one came. Only times he got called was when he was in trouble and had to go to a mandatory doctor's visit.
No one ever came.
Was that why he knew they didn't care?
...or was it based on something he didn't know?
"...no one came." The explanation he knew slipped from his mouth, "...I was in prison...and no one came. No one visited and no one called. I kinda got the message that no one cared then." He mumbled gazing at his hands.
He vaguely remembered a few of the guys there. Talking about how their girlfriends were pregnant...or waiting for them. Or even their wives. Their mothers were worried...their sister came and brought them cookies. Their dad had hired an attorney…
...it had left a weird empty feeling inside of him. One that he could feel clenching at his insides once more.
Getting up he took a breath.
"I'm going to go take a shower." Not waiting for a response he went into the bathroom. And started stripping. A shower always helped. Wash away the memories. Wash them away completely.
He didn't look at the mirror and climbed into the shower turning it on hot and letting the water fall on him waiting for it to heat up.
It doesn't matter anymore. He had a family now.
...right?
They all said they were...but did family talk bad behind each other's backs?
...he didn't even know anymore.
When Leo got out of the shower, Enix was already asleep in his room.
If the freight train snoring was anything to go by.
With a breath he ruffled his wet hair before going over to the couch and settling down to sleep.
Things were going to go well. The others would eventually get used to having Scott around...and then Leo would talk to them about what they said, explain his side and all would be fine.
With a breath he pulled the blanket over his head and curled up tight. It would be fine.
The smell of bacon made Leo open his eyes, his stomach did a strange growl but at the same time the smell made him a tad nauseous. With a breath he pushed himself up and looked over to the accused cook.
Enix was humming, earbuds in as he made breakfast...or would it be considered lunch?
Ugh, night-shifts messed up the whole mealtime thing.
"Oh! Look whose up, I was about to get you up, we have thirty minutes before we have to head off." Enix greeted, and Leo could only growl in response, baring his teeth a bit as he got into a sitting position and slumped over. He rubbed his face as if to rub away the fatigue.
"HowlongdidIsleep?" He slurred, and the man chuckled.
"Good solid five hours, you were out like a light." He flipped the bacon, and Leo watched as the strip of meat bubbled on the skillet.
"You are gonna make me eat...aren't you?" He muttered and the blue haired man looked at him and nodded.
"Of course, or you are walking to work, but knowing your condition. You'd probably only make it a block or two." At that Leo stuck out his tongue.
"Shut up." He leaned back against the couch and tried to tame his hair a little bit.
"I made the strawberry protein shake." Enix said this made Leo look up surprised.
"I thought we were out of strawberries?" He watched as the man set the glass of strawberry shake onto the counter bar. And Leo blinked coming over and taking it.
"I woke up before you and went to the store, picked up some. Figured you would want it more after so long without eating you wouldn't want to eat something solid." at that Leo blinked and got on his toes to grab a straw. He just barely got it and put it in drinking the smoothie. It was better then eating anything solid.
When he came up for a break he took a breath, "well, thanks." Enix merely nodded and pulled the bacon from the skillet. Leo pursed his lips gazing at him before taking a breath and looking to the side.
"...thanks Enix. For...letting me stay here and…stuff." He mumbled, and glanced at Enix to see him smiling, the older guard rolled his eyes and took a breath, "don't make a big deal out of it. I say thanks." Enix wiped away the smile and nodded seriously.
"Of course, yeah of course." He nodded to the shake. "Drink it up, we have to get to work."
Leo took a breath and nodded, before tipping the glass and downing it all.
"There! Finished. Now let's go."
He started for the door but Enix didn't move. Leo turned back to him and frowned at his raised eyebrow.
"What?" Then his eyes fell on Enix's untouched plate and he sighed trudging back to the couch. "So much for being in a rush." He slumped into the couch and huffed a breath.
Enix's footsteps approached and Leo looked up at him before back at the black tv. The man sat down in the arm chair and started eating.
There was a moment or two of silence."...how are the others doing?" The shorter guard inquired quietly. Enix looked up before swallowing.
"...good." he then paused and Leo looked up at him before away again. "...they miss you ya know."
At they Leo bit his lip and took a breath, "you don't have to lie. I know I'm annoying." He mumbled crossing his arms, he could feel Enix's furrowed brow.
"What? Who told you that?"
"...well maybe it wasn't said, but it was implied. I know you guys are annoyed by me and my attitude okay? I've heard you talking behind my back." He muttered, and Enix frowned more before opening his mouth...but as he did his watch started beeping.
Not wanting to hear about it anymore. Leo got up and went to the door he had slept in his uniform so there was no need to get changed. He was slipping on his shoes and Enix was shoveling food into his mouth while he did the same.
They made it out of the apartment five minutes later and raced down the stairs before getting onto Enix's bike and heading to work.
The ride was quiet.
Chica was uncomfortable with Scott being around the children. And she couldn't quite put her feathers on why. Suzie had been quiet. If not downtrodden, and even when the chicken attempted to ask her body buddy. The girl would stay quiet.
Fearful.
Maybe that's what set Chica's alarms off. Made her fidget on the stage and be delayed in her lines.
The restaurant had opened about two hours ago. Enix was in the toys room, and Leo was in the back, if not occasionally helping out Scott with a tray.
Chica also didn't like how close Scott and Leo seemed to be.
When had this happened? How did they not even know about him being here? The entire situation was befuddling and that's probably what got to the chicken the most.
They had known nothing.
And Leo...hadn't told them anything.
Chica always prided herself on being at least more sympathetic then her stage partners, but even now she found that her feathers were ruffled. Why hadn't Leo told them? Was he keeping anything else from them?
And dang it, why did Scott bother her so much?
He seemed like a nice guy, like he always had been.
Yes. She remembered Scott. Fidgety man, with a lot of positivity. Even if it was not the right situation for it.
She remembered him recording those tapes.
...and she was pretty sure it was Suzie who took him out.
Scott had been one of the guys she had felt most bad for. He seemed like a nice and normal man...just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
She...did regret hunting down Scott...along with many other men.
But now...now it made her uncomfortable. She didn't even remember that bunny suit being around, and why had he been behind that wall?
She had a million questions, and no one was giving answers.
Bonnie was upset as well, she could tell, his playing was tighter than usual, and sharper. He was upset...and none of them had actually gotten a chance to talk to Leo...without Scott being present.
Honestly...Chica did miss the times when it was just the five of them.
Not that she didn't like Enix. But...things were simpler back then. They would play games at night and laugh at stupid things.
Now they hardly saw Leo...and when they did. Scott was always around.
Her audio receptors picked up the sound of Chia speaking to the children in her room, and then Steven following suit.
The toys were doing well, she would admit. There were no incidents and even when they did have spats, Enix was always there. Helping them through it like a patient parent.
Enix was great. Fantastic even.
...but she missed Leo.
Leo was in charge of the main room today, which wouldn't have been his choice.
It was busy today, there were screaming kids running around, and he even recognized a few faces. Lately he had been ducking into the back room all the time that he wasn't in the main room usually.
Henry and Gabriel were playing arcade games, there were a few other kids he recognized, but otherwise he didn't know anyone here.
Sometimes he wondered if people from other towns came over. He wasn't out often...it just seemed weird that everyone here could've possibly been from the tiny town of Hurricane.
Scott was in the middle of entertaining one of the tables, and the band on stage was singing one of their most common songs. It had something to do with treehouses and whatever.
Ever since Alder bought the company, that snooty family hadn't returned, the Smith's got their table, and everyone was happy. Which he was certainly glad for.
He could see the animatronics still watching Scott, but Leo wasn't as bothered by it. Scott wasn't doing anything wrong, soon they would see that he wasn't bad.
It was around twelve in the afternoon when Leo had to go over and deal with an incident between a few kids. He partially groaned at that, his eyes flickered around for Jamie or Enix but neither were in the room.
Henry was having a blast, he had even beaten Gabriel in pacman.
He had always loved coming to Freddy's after school, with his parents at work, it beat an empty household anytime.
Things had even gotten better since they had brought in that new bunny! He was allowed to walk around and visit with all the kids, he had even approached Henry! Quite a bit really, Gabriel had nudged him and chuckled that the bunny must like him then.
Henry had never been happier.
He wanted to follow the rabbit around and see if he needed any help, but Gabriel told him that kids weren't allowed to work and he could get the bunny in trouble. So Henry went and played games.
He kept hoping the bunny would come around though.
"Hey, I'm gonna go see Foxy wanna come? I think I heard that the pink Foxy is gonna be in there as well today!" Gabriel explained, and Henry paused looking over his shoulder and spotting the bunny talking with some other kids.
"I...I'll meet you there okay! I want to finish up this game." The boy declared turning back to the game purposefully, he didn't see Gabriel, but he got a pat on his shoulder as the older boy scampered off.
Henry looked around to check if he was gone and went over to the bunny, maybe he could see if he would play on his break! Workers got breaks right?
He waited for the bunny to turn around and when he did he smiled brightly.
"Hello bunny sir! I...I was wondering...if you would like to play a game with m...me! On your b...break of course!" He stammered out clasping his hands before him.
The bunny tilted his head and leaned down placing a hand on his knee for balance.
"A game huh? I like games! What kind of game to you want to play?" He asked, and Henry brightened before bouncing on the balls of his feet.
"P...pacman sir!" He declared, and the bunny tilted his head placing a finger on his lower jaw.
"Hm, pacman you say? Well I happen to be an expert at pacman! You sure you want to go up against an expert?" He challenged with his usual grin, Henry couldn't help but giggle.
"Yeah! I bet you can't beat me tho!" He challenged right back, the bunny chuckled and ruffled his hair before standing and looking at his wrist as if there was a watch there.
"Oh? Well would you look at that! It's break time already!" At that Henry gasped.
"Already?! Whoa!" He then bounced and looked up at him, "can you come and play then?!"
"Well I sure can! Wouldn't want to spend my break any other way!" Henry giggled again, and then the bunny held out his paw after giving the tray to another worker. The boy giggled again and took his paw leading him over to the arcade area.
He loved hanging out with the bunny, and all day today, the bunny was making sure to hang out with him, and he had never been happier.
He couldn't see Freddy twitching and voice warping mid song behind him.
Bonnie was getting anxious, he could feel Jeremy stirring within him, kicking up a fuss about who knows what.
...Bonnie could probably figure out what, but it wasn't really a...bad situation. It was just...something to be monitored.
Scott was over at the arcade area playing with Henry, if Bonnie remembered correctly. Other kids were gathered around in a bit of a circle watching in awe.
The purple hare...just felt uncomfortable with the sight.
But things seemed to be going normal.
...up until the point where Scott...started leading Henry away.
Bonnie froze mid strum messing up the song as his eyes widened. He heard a distorted noise come from Freddy and looked over to him before snapping his attention back to the situation.
No one was looking! What...this couldn't...no! No one was looking! Not even Leo! Where was Leo?!
Why was there such panic in his chest?!
The song suddenly stopped and Bonnie gave a brief glance to Freddy as he stepped forward. He had to stop this. No...no…
STOP HIM!
Jeremy screamed causing his endoskeleton to rattle.
Bonnie stepped forward again, not even hearing the likely confused crowd.
"LET HIM GO! SOMEBODY STOP HIM!" The sound of Gabriel's voice made Bonnie freeze and look over. Freddy...who was no longer Freddy had held the mic so tight it crushed under his paw. Leo whipped around and everyone in the crowd gasped, even Scott looked over and froze raising up his hands and looking confused and alarmed. Henry was standing there in shock, only for his blond friend to come over and pull him away staring at Freddy wide eyed as well.
But Bonnie wasn't buying it.
Neither was Gabriel.
The haunted animatronic leaped off the stage causing everyone to scream, Bonnie reached out to grab his stage partner. But he couldn't unless he got off stage.
"Ga...Freddy! We can't get off stage!" He tried, but nothing.
Leo ran over and got in front of Gabriel...but with a shove the guard was pushed aside.
Gabriel was going for Scott and nothing was going to stop him.
"Everyone back away! There is a malfunction in Freddy's programming!" Chica called, but it was unnecessary, everyone was already giving him a wide berth. Children were hugged and held close by their parents, adults looked on in fear.
Bonnie saw Leo get up but he wasn't paying much attention to him now.
"I was just showing him where the bathroom was I swear!" The bunny called, but Gabriel was having none of it.
"Hey! Hey Freddy! Everything is okay! Why don't you go back to stage?" Enix said as he came into the room. Bonnie briefly saw the toys peaking in and keeping their children behind them.
That's when John came from his office and his eyes widened. Enix went over to calm Gabriel down, and John came over to address everyone.
"Everyone! Freddy is having a temporary malfunction! If you all could please excuse us we have to do emergency maintenance work!" He started ushering people out. They had demands, there were many angry parents, but they were soon all out of the door. Including the ones from the toy room.
And Henry.
...that's when Gabriel snapped.
He pushed Enix away and launched at the tan bunny.
Bonnie didn't want to stop him.
Gabriel plowed right into him sending both bots crashing to the ground in a mess of limbs.
Bonnie hopped off the stage and went over to help.
Help who? He wasn't entirely sure yet.
Except. That's when his vision started to glitch.
Chia was panicking, she watched as original Freddy...or more accurately Gabriel plowed into Scott and started doing his best to beat him up. Enix ran over but hovered awkwardly not knowing what to do.
Leo however, went over and tried to pull Gabriel off...that did not go well.
The bear's arm lashed out and sent Leo flying till he hit a wall.
"Leo!" Enix cried and went over.
Chia partially wanted Gabriel to continue, but she knew it would cause more harm then good, so she ran over and tried to pry the child off the struggling Scott.
"Gabriel! Let him go! Nothing happened!" She tried, she didn't catch sight of Bonnie until the bot grabbed her and threw her at one of the tables. She squawked and struggled to reorient her equilibrium before she was able to get up again.
Once everything stopped spinning she looked up only to find Bonnie...or if the glowing eyes were any indication…Jeremy was holding Scott down as Gabriel landed punch after punch to him.
"STOP IT! STOP IT NOW!" Leo ordered as he got up holding his head and swaying, Enix grabbed him and Chia got to her feet coming over. She had to stop this before it got worse.
Steven and Fred came over as well and the static sound made Mangle's presence known. Foxy had run in as well and looked on in confusion but went over as well.
Together they were finally able to pry Jeremy and Gabriel off.
The bots struggled, but the children were getting tired.
Leo bolted to Scott who sat up holding his head. Chia watched pulling Gabriel away whose cries were getting weaker by the second.
The sound of his cries...made her endoskeleton shiver.
Leo's head was throbbing, but he didn't care, he felt something wet on his face but also didn't care. John was yelling something but Leo couldn't hear him over the ringing in his ears.
"Scott? Scott are you okay?!" He demanded grabbing onto his arm, the bot looked dazed but looked at him blinking.
"You're bleeding." He stated, and Leo blinked at him.
"What? That doesn't matter! You just got beat up! Is everything in place?" He asked, looking him over as if he could see.
When he didn't see anything he turned and looked at the offenders. Gabriel and Jeremy still struggled with the toys, Chica...or Suzie more accurately was standing in the background watching, a glare on her face.
Foxy was with the toys trying to contain the bear and rabbit.
But...Leo was mad.
"What the ****ing **** guys?!" He demanded getting up and swaying. Gabriel snapped his head up and growled bearing his teeth blue eyes blazing.
"No! No don't you start you ********! HE WAS TRYING TO TAKE A CHILD!" the child screamed and Leo narrowed his eyes.
"He said he was taking him to the bathroom!"
"You seriously can't believe that can you?" Enix suddenly asked causing the guard to freeze and looked at him. It was a whisper. Jamie was speaking to John away from them.
"W...what?" The shorter guard stammered out.
"Exactly! You can't actually believe he was just going to show the kid where the bathroom was! Henry had been here before! He knows!" Suzie cried and Leo let out a hard breath getting up.
"Shut up! Stop it! Listen! You kids always do this! Why?! Scott has been nothing but great! Yet you have continually looked like him like he is awful!" He barked and Bonnie who seemed to have returned to normal struggled to his feet and stumbled up.
"Well...why don't you trust what we say anymore huh? I haven't felt good about Scott since he came! But no! You are all protective and buddy buddy with Scott and not us! I thought we were supposed to be a family now Leo!" The now normal purple hare screamed, and Leo stared at him fists clenched and shaking.
"FAMILY DOESN'T TALK BEHIND ANOTHER'S BACK! AND IM SORRY BUT SCOTT HAS NEVER HURT ME!" He held out his arm showing the scar, "I HAD TO GET SURGERY BECAUSE OF YOU! BUT YOU HAVE THE GULL TO ACCUSE SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG?!" He demanded, and Bonnie's eyes narrowed and he stepped forward causing Leo to stumble one back as he gazed up at him.
"YOU KEEP BRINGING THAT UP! YOU KNOW THAT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME! When will you let that go?!" The hare demanded his paw curling into a fist, Foxy came over and jumped between them.
"Aye lads! Let's take a breath and talk this out okay?" He tried but Bonnie shoved him away and pointed at Leo.
"No! I'm not going to! You have been hiding away with Scott over here and leaving us behind! What is he your new buddy now?! Are we not good enough anymore!?" He challenged jabbing the guard in the chest, Leo stumbled back again and huffed a breath.
"Oh I'm sorry! Have I hurt your feelings?! At least I don't talk bad about you behind your back!" He barked back stepping forward and earning a harder jab in the chest, but he ignored it. "ALSO LETS NOT FORGET! AREN'T YOU ALL THE ONES WHO MURDERED THIS MAN IN THE FIRST PLACE?!" The guard continued and Bonnie growled before grabbing his arm.
"Leo stop it." He ordered but the guard stared defiantly up at him.
"Stop what? You are no better then the man who caused all this! Scott did nothing wrong! No one did! You adopted the sins of the man who committed this act and then plead innocence and go after anyone who is suspicious! You guys can't even claim innocence!" He huffed and then winced as Bonnie tightened his grip.
"Leo..." He warned, but the guard grit his teeth.
"What are you going to do? Hurt me?" That was growled out, his eyes narrowed, "you are protecting murderers you realize that right? All that blood is on all of your paws!" He barked and Bonnie's eyes narrowed and flickered with glow and Leo grit his teeth gazing up at him defiantly and trying not to tremble at how tight Bonnie was holding his arm.
He wanted to run, but he couldn't leave Scott like this. And he was angry. He wanted to say something.
"I'm not even sure you would recognize the murderer if you saw him anymore. You can't give the children whatever you want just because you failed them the first tim-"
The last thing Leo saw was the whites of Bonnie's eyes turning red.
"Leo!" Enix barked as he ran over to the guard who was slumped against the wall.
It had happened so quick, William barely had a second to catch it. One moment Leo was arguing with Bonnie. Then next, he was a unconscious heap against the wall.
It took a moment before Bonnie seemed to register what happened as well. His eyes widened and he stumbled back staring at the scene. Foxy stepped over and raised his hands opening his mouth but no words came out.
There was silence for several ticking seconds. Not even Jamie or John's voices could be heard.
….and William couldn't help but laugh.
Slowly everyone's attention snapped to him, as he got to his feet, chuckling and wincing at the dull aches from his endoskeleton.
Enix looked up as well and frowned, "Scott…?" He asked hesitantly, but William kept chuckling. Then he lifted his eyes and they fell on Bonnie.
"Such murderous rage in your eyes. Has the touch of death corrupted you so much little Jeremy?" Then he stopped and gazed at him, the shadows from his drooped ears casting odd lighting on his face. "Or...should I say Bonnie?" The drop of the name made the bot freeze gazing at him.
"I...I..." He tried, but Springtrap shook his head.
"But Bonnie...your eyes weren't glowing. They flickered. Sure. But they didn't glow." He pointed out, and Bonnie looked down at his paws gazing at them wide eyed.
William's eyes flickered over everyone. Enix was watching him carefully, but he went over to Leo anyways. He crouched down next to him ignoring Enix's glares.
Lightly he stroked the man's hair and when he pulled his hand away and saw blood, he lifted and showed it to Bonnie.
"Nice handy work." He praised, and then let his head drop a fraction, causing the glow of his eyes to illuminate his face in contrast with the shadows. "Daddy is awful proud of you my boy." That made all the bots freeze, he chuckled again and rose to his feet, "though...I prefer a more elegant manner, your way seems very effective." He waved a hand over the man, "would you like to finish the job? And take out another guard while you are at it?" He pressed and the purple hare stumbled back.
"N...no...of course not." He stammered, and Springtrap nodded before gazing at him icily.
"Oh? Well. Then stay the **** away from him." He ordered, making the bunny jump.
"H...hey no...no! We won't let you kill him!" Chica said stepping forward, only to freeze as his eyes landed on her.
"Oh don't worry, I don't plan on killing him." He crouched down and scooped him up despite Enix's protests. "But I will be taking him away." He admitted with a shrug.
"Lad, if ya think ya can make it out of here with ye rusty *** then ya got another thing comin'." Foxy growled out stepping forward hook primed. William sighed and while holding Leo with one arm, before Enix could react, he grabbed him by his head.
The action made everyone freeze. He smirked.
"Good. Hold that position now." He chuckled and stroked Enix's head with his thumb. "Now. I believe we are all aware of how fragile humans are. Just a bit of tightening to my grip, and your buddy's brains are everywhere." He sighed and shrugged, "brains are a lot harder to clean."
"...you aren't getting Leo, the second you let me go they will be on you like jakyls." Enix informed staring up at him defiantly. William looked down at him calmly and the guard let out a breath, "and just so I'm in the know. You are the murderer then huh?" At that William rolled his eyes.
"Oh gee, congrats you finally figured it out huh? Honestly I'm kinda disappointed, I was sure you would be a problem sooner with how smart Leo said you were." At that Enix's eyes widened before he glared.
"Well anyways, my point still stands. There is nowhere for you to go anyways." The man continued, and William took a breath before shaking his head.
"You underestimate me." With that, he gripped the man's hair and began dragging him to the front door, the animatronics followed.
"Hey! Put him down!" Chia barked and came over but he turned and tightened his grip causing an involuntary cry to come from him. William gazed at them all evenly.
"I won't kill Leo. I made no promises for this blue haired pest. I can easily snap his neck. Come at me. And he dies." They all froze and he chuckled. "Good kids." Then he walked backwards dragging a struggling Enix with him. He leaned down, his back opening up the doors. He gazed at them all one last time...before dropping Enix and bolting into the forest surrounding the pizzeria.
So...a lot happened huh?
They all know now, except unfortunately Leo. What do you think Scott's plans for him are? Why does he need Leo of all people? What do you think John will do? How do you think everyone will feel now?
I'd love to hear what you think!
