Chapter 39 - Disney World with Four Children

The Doctor popped back to the flat and gathered the children, Shakes, Lewis and Jake. As it turned out, two Quauhtin had been killed in the explosion. Torchwood called and Jake sent his best guys to investigate the scene, along with some CIA men that Howie sent over. Ryan Ard sent them updates from the scene. Jake demanded that he would join them that afternoon, but was still told he was not needed because Howie wanted him with Jacob.

The Doctor told Jake. "We need to issue watches to some of these people at Torchwood. As bad as I hate to admit it, they are going to have to have them. I can't send Quauhtin out all of the time to pop people back and forth."

Jake shook his head. "Nah, I'm not comfortable with that."

The Doctor ran his hand through his hair. "Think about it, and let me know what you want to do. The offer is there."

Jake nodded, "Sure thing, Director Sinatra. Ugh. Howie wants me to stay with you and the children. I'm not to let them out of my sight."

"Ah, come on. It will be fun. It will help keep everyone's minds off what is really going on."

Jake tossed his hands up, "Not to mention, you need help wrangling this lot. I'll go help. Looks like everyone has this under control. We are just in a waiting pattern now."

They all popped over to a huge Bullet station outside of Atlanta. They all climbed into a long, stretch limo that Michelle had ordered for them. Genie wasn't used to traveling in a limo, and was excited to be back in one with her Daddy, Jacob, Tony, Lewis and Shakes.

"Where are we going?" Tony asked them as they traveled down the road.

"The happiest place on earth! Rose thought we all needed some happiness today." the Doctor told them.

Genie was sitting in his lap. She turned around, "Why are you so sad?"

He smiled at her. "I'm not sad, little one. I'm fine."

Genie shook her head at him. "No, you are sad. I know."

Tony sat up and hugged the Doctor, "It's alright. I know you miss our Rose. Why didn't she come?"

Tony, his comrade, had saved him again with a perfect explanation.

The Doctor ran his hand through his hair. "Yeah, that's it. I'm missing our Rose."

'Rose, are you a place where you can talk to some children?' the Doctor asked Rose through their connection.

'Sure! Let me call you.' Rose told him.

The Doctor took his phone out of his pocket and looked at the screen. "Ready for a magic trick? Rose will call my phone in 3-2-1..." the phone rang.

"Wow!" Tony said. Tony accepted the call and Rose's face came on the screen.

"Hey, everyone! What you are you doing today?" Rose asked them with a smile.

Tony spoke. "I think we've been kidnapped again."

Jacob laughed. "You are crazy! The Doctor wouldn't kidnap us. He's the one that came and saved us."

Genie said, "Daddy is sad because you aren't with us. Where are you?"

Rose smiled at them. "I had to do something with Gran this morning. I'll be back the afternoon or tonight. I know what the Doctor is doing today. And you are all going to have so much fun. Who all is there?"

Tony moved the phone around so Rose could see the carload of people. Shakes smiled and waved as did Lewis. Rose was surprised to see Jake in the limo with them.

"Jake! I didn't know you were with that lot!" Rose exclaimed.

Jake laughed. "Yep! Howie Shepherd has put me on Jacob detail. Hopefully, I can show him a good time today."

Tony brought the phone back around and showed her Jacob, him and Genie. Rose realized she wasn't seeing someone.

"Tony, where is the Doctor?" Rose asked.

He heard her question and moved his head from behind Genie, Jacob and Tony's heads.

"Are they all sitting on you?" Rose laughed.

"All three of them. My new title is the Children's Chair." he smiled.

Rose laughed at him. "Have a great time today. Send us lots of videos and pictures."

"I'll call it the Tony Show!" Tony declared.

As it turned out, Rose had been completely right. The trip to Disney was amazing for everyone involved. It helped Rose and Jackie as they sent back videos and pictures of them riding rides, posing with the characters and having a great time. Anytime Rose felt as if tears were going to overwhelm her, the Doctor could feel it and snapped a picture of them and sent it to her. She showed them all to her mum. It made her smile as well.

One of the first videos was from Tony. He was riding on a golf cart with the Doctor sitting next to him. He was wearing Mickey Mouse ears and said, "Welcome to the Tony Show! Coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia! Home of the mouse! My brother and Jake have kidnapped us all and taken us to ride rides until we puke! This bloke over here is driving us all over the park to the rides. We don't even have to wait in line! I think it's some sort of a conspiracy. They are trying to wear out my four best footballers before the match in a few days. Well, they can forget it. Us Brit's are made of strong stuff!" They could hear the Doctor laughing at him.

"You nutter, your mum is going to see that! Not just, Rose!" the Doctor fussed at him.

Tony got closer to the phone's camera. He spoke in a dramatic voice. "Help us! The Doctor is making us ride the Spinning Cups of Doom again."

Jake sent a video of the Doctor spinning Jacob, Tony and Genie ridiculously fast in the tea cup ride. Rose was certain the Sonic Screwdriver had been involved in that. Jackie laughed, "He's worse than any kid. I feel sorry for poor Jake with that lot of four children at Disney."

Shakes had his picture taken wearing Mickey Mouse ears that looked tiny on his huge head. Someone took a picture of the entire lot of them on a roller coaster. Shakes was so big, he took up the entire front seat. All of them were smiling and giving the thumbs up.

Rose's favorite video came from Genie. She held the phone out to show her Daddy knelt down behind her. She was wearing pink Minnie Mouse ears and said, "Hi Rose! Daddy is so silly! Look at what he's doing now."

He spoke to her as he smiled and shook his head. "No. I'm not doing it anymore."

"Do it one more time!" All three of the children begged. Rose could hear the other men laughing at him.

Jake laughed, "Go on, Sinatra!"

"Ugh, alright." The Doctor agreed.

The video spun around to show him walking up to Goofy on a stage. Goofy tap danced with his huge shoes and the Doctor danced with him. But, the Doctor's looked right. Goofy's looked crazy. They all cheered. No one louder than Jake who was apparently standing right next to Genie.

Jackie and Rose laughed so much at that one. Jackie said, "I never knew he could tap dance. Where did he learn that?"

Rose laughed and shook her head. "I'm not even going to ask him."

Just as Rose said that, her eyes uncontrollability filled with tears. "Oh! God! What in the world is this?" She couldn't see for a few minutes.

Jackie looked concerned. "What's the matter with you?"

"I'm not sure. I think I got something in my eyes." Rose said.

Just then, she heard the Doctor in her head. 'Oh, this candy is brilliant! It's so sour I think I nearly went blind!'

Rose fussed at him, 'That's what that is. Stop it! I think I went blind, too.'

'Oh. You felt that? Sorry. Damn. I like that candy, too. Hang on, just one more.'

Rose felt her eyes fill up with tears again. 'Oh! God! Stop it!'

She felt his happiness at annoying her and heard him laugh in her head.

She smiled and shook her head. 'Crazy, Old Man.'

He told her, 'Well, Old Man is having a good time with these rotten children. How are things there?'

'Everything is the same. Caroline Shepherd is back. She's with mum. I had to come down to eat something.'

'The hell! You better not be -'

'Relax, I have four guards with me. We are walking to the little diner now. Geez.'

'Oh. Okay then. Tell Caroline I'll bring Jacob back to her this afternoon. He's talked my ear off.'

Rose laughed, 'Yeah, right I really doubt that.'

'Oh, it's true! He's a daredevil. He'll ride anything. The wilder it is, the better!' the Doctor told her.

'Really?' Rose asked.

'It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. Oh wow! You just wait until you get this next video Tony made. Be sure to show Caroline. It was brilliant!'

Rose got another video of Jacob and the Doctor on some strange ride where they were laying on their stomachs. Several park operators where strapping them into the ride. The video turned and she saw a man in a tie being interview by Tony.

Tony said, "Welcome again to the Tony show! We're here today with the General Manager of Disneyworld, Mr. Holz! Mr. Holz, sir. I'd like to thank you for showing us such a great time here!"

"Well, thank you, Tony! We're very pleased to take you and your family around."

"This thing that my brother and best mate are doing. Tell me about this so when they die, I don't have to explain it to my sister."

The man in the tie laughed. "Well, Tony. They will be just fine. This is our Sky Coaster. Our operators strap the two riders in to this harness and then we will pull them up 18 stories in the air. They are hoisted up by a slim cable, so it's very similar to parachuting."

"But, without a parachute." Tony added.

Jake was holding Genie who was holding her mouth with her hands, but smiling. "Are you sure about this, Daddy?" she asked him.

Jake kissed her on the cheek. "Your Daddy will be fine. Don't worry about him. Let's see how much he screams! Shakes! Do you have a video ready for this?"

Rose could hear Lewis laughing. "There's no way I would do that."

The Doctor laughed and shook his head at Jake. "Keep up with this lot down here. Tony! What are you doing?"

"Making a video of your last flight, mate! It will be the stuff of legend!" Tony told him.

Mr. Holz laughed at him. "There's no need to worry. Once they pull them up, they will be up so high, they will only hear the wind. As they dangle there, they can see all of the park. As soon as Doctor Smith pulls the cord, they will be released and plummet back towards earth in a state of total free fall. Traveling over 50 miles an hour!"

The Doctor pointed at Tony. "That's 80 km a hour to you, Tony! HA!"

Mr. Holz laughed. "It's similar to hang gliding, just on a cable. Oh! They are hoisting them up! Let's watch!"

The machine pulled them up. It seemed to take forever. Rose couldn't believe what she was watching. They were pulled back into the sky until they were just a small little dot on the screen. Then, after a bit, they zoomed in front of the screen. Screaming like lunatics. "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" they said together as they swung out. Rose laughed seeing the pair.

'Oh my God. You two are crazy!' she told the Doctor.

'HA! You saw it! Now, I deserve some more sour candy!' he said as Rose's eyes filled with tears again.

'Stop it!' she laughed.
