Detective Conan AU Curacao

"Wasn't that boy just here?" One of the nurses asked as several doctors and nurses ran to tend to Conan and try to save his arm.

"Ah you must be new here. That's Conan-kun. One of our most frequent patients but he's honestly one of the best ones too for being so young. Never freaks out about shots and never complains about things most of the other kids do. Here come with me." An older nurse said without batting an eye as she led the younger one past a waiting room and paused at the door.

"See in there?" The older woman asked nodding to the waiting room that was full of people. The Mouri's, all of his parental figures including the Lupin gang, several Organization members primarily Karasuma and Conan's Vati and Mutti, FBI agents, PSB agents, pretty much every police officer in Division 1, a few from traffic division, and a few officers from different precincts even. Even KID in full uniform was there with the officers usually chasing after him and none of them made a move towards each other.

"So many people…" The younger nurse looked stunned at the sight of everyone crammed into the waiting room either quietly talking, pretending to read, or working on something in the case of Agase and a young reddish haired girl.

"And all of them are here for that little boy although the men in black are new." The older nurse said nodding and then led the younger nurse further down the hall.

"That is called Conan's Waiting Room, because that boy's been here so often that we have a separate waiting room set aside just for his group to keep tensions from getting too high again and someone lashing out." The older nurse said and the younger one shivered.

"I can see why. Everyone was so tense and there was such a stifling air around it…" The new nurse said and the older one merely hummed a bit.

"Just be glad you weren't here the first time that boy was shot." The older nurse said wisely and the younger one's head whipped around towards her looking stunned and horrified.

"That boy was shot!?" The younger one asked making the old woman nod her head.

"Multiple times. The most dangerous one though was the first time, he needed a blood transfusion and he's type O so we were more than a bit worried when all of his blood type was used during a bad car crash earlier that day. Thankfully one of the teens in there was a match for his blood type and donated all we needed. The other times were dangerous as well but he seemed to have been wiser about it or just luckier. Honestly bullet proof glasses…" The older nurse said shaking her head in disbelief as she recalled hearing the little boy tell her, in a very cheerful voice mind you, about how the lady had tried to shoot him in the eye but he had gotten his glasses made out of bullet proof material earlier that day.

"I'm sorry. What?!" The younger nurse demanded looking at the older one in disbelief and she nodded sagely.

"Yeah. Honestly we just go with it by now. He disarmed a bomb in Tokyo tower with some help from the police and then not even two months later ended up hoisting two teenagers who had nearly fallen off of the edge back up with his belt." The older woman said and then glanced up when there were running heels.

"Ah Yoko-san. Reiko-san. I was wondering when you'd get here. Conan-kun is still in surgery at the moment and you know where the waiting room is." The older woman said stepping out of the way of the two women who barely bowed to her before rushing past.

"That…that was Yoko Okino and the soprano singer Reiko Akiba…" The younger nurse said gaping shocked at the two rather famous women who immediately slid into the waiting room and were greeted by a few others.

"Ah. They know and are fond of Conan-kun. Reiko-san is usually the one to pick him up if the Mouri's are out of town on a case. The two of them are so sassy when they're together…honestly it's like their siblings or she's his mother sometimes." The older one said with a small chuckle as she led the new girl over to the nurses station.

"Ah Miya-taicho. Did Nika-san need help with something?" The nurse at the computer asked as the two walked up, looking up at the older woman with a smile since she was the head nurse on call today.

"No no. She just hasn't been exposed to or warned about Conan-kun yet so I decided to give her the run down." Miya said smiling and waving it off and making the other two nurses at the desk look up.

"She hasn't? I thought they were putting a segment on Conan-kun in the training books and videos now?" One of them asked and the other shook her head.

"No that video won't be done for another few days and while there is a small segment on Conan-kun in the training books and papers most of the new hires think it's a joke or test to see if they're actually reading the book." A second said making the others nod their heads and Nika wisely kept silent, having not read the entire book herself and now realized she had missed out on the info on this mysterious Conan since she skimmed most of the book.

"Mmm. Anyone know what happened to him this time? I've got my bet in from this morning." Miya asked humming and making Nika look confused now, something one of the nurses noticed.

"Since he's guaranteed to be here at least once a month, if not once a week, we generally place bets on what the cause of the visit is. Isho-san down in the Cancer ward won half of the other day's pot with it being because of a fist fight." The nurse said making Nika furrow her brow but nod. Should they really be placing bets on what caused the kid to come here?

"Don't forget Director Shiso won the other half by saying it wouldn't be from his detective hobby and would happen at his school." The other nurse said and Nika sweat dropped a bit, even the higher ups got in on this.

"I heard he was in a car chase on that skateboard of his and got rammed pretty hard when the driver went into a house." The third nurse at the station said making Miya smirk slightly.

"That means I won half the pot because it was a car this time!" Miya said making the other three groan and tease her playfully over her win.

"If I remember right, Hosho-san in Radiation gets the other half too because he bet on it being because of another kid." One of the nurses said making the others look surprised.

"Another kid? During a car chase?"

"You sure that's right Sasha-san?"

"Heard the police officers talking about it and KID talking about it to the others when they all came in. Apparently that boy Genta, the overweight one with a temper and obsession with eels?, was the cause of Conan-kun getting into that fist fight the other day and when he found out Conan-kun confronted him and he and that Haibara girl, the smart little red head who acts like she's an adult, left the Detective Boys while the other two had picked Genta's side. Genta got mad that he was in trouble though and stole a car, barely being able to see as he pushed on the pedals. Conan-kun and KID gave chase but Genta rammed it into a house and Conan-kun got hurt badly because of it. KID's the one who arrived first. I think he was in the ambulance with Conan-kun." Sasha-san said making the others frown and look at each other.

"I'll have to double check that just to be sure…but if it's true then I'm definitely buying Conan-kun a present with my winnings. He probably would need something to distract him and cheer him up. His arm was in horrible shape after all…"

Almost as soon as Miya was done talking was there a shout from Conan's waiting room that had them wide eyed even as Miya and the other three nurses raced down the hall.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY HAD TO AMPUTATE HIS ARM?!"
