At the Velvet Room, Francis sees that Marie is gone. Before he can speak to the others, Francis sees a piece of paper on the floor. He picks it up and puts it back onto the table.
"Ah!" As she enters, Marie shouts and snatches the paper from the table.
"What are you doing, Pervert?" Marie shouts angrily. "That's my stuff!"
"You are welcome." Francis says humorously.
"What do you mean 'you are welcome'?" Marie keeps going. "Listen, I am not a little mermaid or anything, okay?"
"You would make a very beautiful mermaid though." Francis says suavely while smiling.
Marie blushes. She then speaks with embarrassment while eyeing Francis meanly. "I am gonna tell Green."
Francis chuckles. "By the way, Nanako's dad says you can sleep over."
Marie looks at Francis with surprise. Her face then turns to glum.
"What's wrong?" Francis asks with concern.
Marie looks down with silence.
"If I may." Margaret says politely. "While Marie is able to stay outside longer while she is with you, the time she can stay is still limited."
"Hold on. I have so many questions about Marie. First things first, how long is limited?" Francis asks.
"I would say 12 hours."
Francis grumbles. "That would be enough for a sleepover, but it is risky. Second question." He looks at Marie.
"Do you mind if I get more intrusive? There are just facts that eluded my mind. But now, I wish to know more about you." He asks politely.
"Why?" Marie asks glumly, tone matching her face. "You already have Green, don't you?"
Francis blushes hearing about Chie. He then regains his composure and says calmly. "Ya, but you are my friend, a friend of all of us, in fact."
"All right." Marie says while blushing.
"Are you human?" He then looks to the others. "In fact, are all of you humans?"
Marie looks down. Igor and Margaret simply chuckle.
Francis suddenly remembers that Marie lost her memory. He looks at Marie and apologizes. "Sorry, Marie, I forgot that you lost your memory."
Marie keeps looking down.
"Allow me to answer that question." Margaret replies. "You are right. Neither of us are humans. We are existances that exist between the realm of both ideas and reality."
"So assuming my world is reality, ideas would be... " Francis pauses and thinks. "Personas and Shadows?"
"Indeed." Marie replies, her tone implying amusement despite its calm. "Marie is an exception, however, and we do not know what she is."
Marie has been looking down the whole time, eyes filled with sadness.
"It doesn't matter." Hearing Francis speak, Marie looks at him with wide eyes.
"You are our friend." Francis says kindly while smiling.
Marie blushes and looks down. She then looks at Francis with a glare, continually to blush as she does. "Who's your friend, you Pervert?"
"Okay, guess I am not your friend." Francis says humorously.
Marie scowls.
"Just kidding. You are so cute and I can't help but tease you." Francis says suavely.
Marie takes a deep breath. She then smiles gently. "Thank you, pervert."
"The pervert is starting to hurt…." Francis whines, a hint of humor in his voice.
"I can switch to Playboy." Marie says in a deadpan tone.
"That's not exactly accurate." Francis complains humorously.
"Creep. Jerk. Scumbag. Take your pick." Marie goes on.
"I am starting to be convinced you hate me." Francis says sadly, mixing in humor as he does.
Marie blushes while looking away. As she does, she goes off with embarrassment. "IdonthateyouIamjustembarassed."
Francis smiles. "All right. Yosuke and I are hanging out in the Central Shopping District. You wanna come?"
"The annoying one?" Marie asks with a straight-face expression. "Guess I don't have a choice."
"Annoying?" Francis asks weakly while they both get ready to leave.
Before Francis leaves, Margaret stops him. After he and Marie go back to setting, Igor speaks up.
"Do you remember when we went to the shopping district in the other world to help you?"
"Ya."
"The truth is, we had help from another man. He was wearing a black colored trench coat and his face was obstructed by a hat."
Francis looks at Igor with surprise, who nods his head politely. Francis continues to ask with curiosity. "Can you tell me more of this man?"
"Other than the fact that he sounded mature and possibly wields great power, nothing else."
Uncertain what other info he can get, Francis leaves the Velvet Room with Marie.
"Annoying?" Yosuke says with defeat. The trio are sitting at a table at Souzai Daigaku, an outdoor eatery in the Northern part of the shopping district.
"Your name's too hard and you don't wear colored clothes like Red and Green." Marie speaks with her usual lack of emotion.
"You had no issue with Kuma." Yosuke says curiously.
"He's a bear." Marie replies calmly.
"Fair point." Yosuke says weakly.
Marie then studies Yosuke. She then says calmly. "Plain. I can call you that."
"That's not something you call a person." Francis says weakly, feeling defeated as he does.
"Well, maybe you can help her come up with something while I get us some food." Yosuke says with playfulness and frustration as he stands up.
"Okay...um…" Marie comes to pause, her face becoming sour as she does.
"You can stick with Iza." Francis says in a defeated yet humorous manner.
"Izanagi." Marie says calmly.
"You can say the whole thing?" Francis asks curiously, looking at Marie with surprise.
"I was somehow able to learn it after calling you Iza a few times. I still like Pervert more though." Marie says innocently.
"Why?" Francis asks humorously and tiredly.
Marie looks down sourly, with slight blushing on her cheeks. "OnlyIcallyouthat."
"Maybe you call me Pervert some other times, just stick with Izanagi for now. Plus nobody calls me Izanagi as well." Francis says kindly.
"But you are not Izanagi." Marie replies calmly.
Francis thinks for a while. He then comments in a defeated tone, mixing humor in it. "You aren't wrong. Just Pervert hurts too much."
"Perverted Izanagi." Marie says in a deadpan tone, prompting a chuckle from Francis despite his feeling of defeat.
After a while, Yosuke brings some beefsteak sticks for the trio. As Francis pays him back, Yosuke offers to pay for Marie.
"Thank you. You are nice." Marie says politely.
"You can call me that." Yosuke says cheerfully.
"Okay, Nice." Marie replies calmly with a smile. She then asks curiously. "Why did Green call you annoying though?"
"We just fight a lot. It's something we do." Yosuke says kindly.
"Do you and Green fight?" Marie asks Francis.
"As long as it's not the type of fight we had last time, I don't mind arguing more with her." Francis comments, fearful at first but blissful in the second sentence.
"I get the feeling you two will get a lot of chances." Yosuke jests mockingly.
"I hope so." Francis says blissfully while smiling.
"So friends fight as well?" Marie asks curiously.
"Ya. Sometimes not so pleasant like Francis and Satonaka, sometimes it's just friendly fighting, like me and… Satonaka."
Yosuke explains playfully, though he paused towards the end, as if realizing something .
"Green sure fights a lot." Marie comments in a deadpan tone.
"That's one of her charms." Francis says blissfully, prompting a mocking grin from Yosuke.
As the trio finish their steaks, Francis hears some housewife chatter.
"Is that the Junes boy?"
"How dare he be so cheerful after what Junes did to the area?".
Francis and Marie both look at Yosuke, who smiles strongly despite the sadness in his brows.
"I am gonna go tell them off." Francis says while standing up.
"Relax, Francis. They are not wrong." Yosuke comments sadly, causing Francis to turn back to him.
"What do you mean?" Marie asks with a mix of flatness and slight concern.
"Junes did hurt this area badly. I supposed it's fine that they let off some steam." Yosuke says, seemingly trying to sound cheerful.
"But you are not Junes, and it's not your fault." Francis complains.
"That's just how things are." Yosuke comments sadly.
"That's why you have to stand up and tell them to stop." Francis keeps going.
"And if this hurts my father's business?" Yosuke asks with a confrontative tone. "The people have enough reasons to hate us, I don't wanna give them more."
Francis looks down in defeat and apologizes. "Sorry, I did not think of that."
"It's fine." Yosuke says sadly, with his eyes matching his voice.
Later that night, Nanako asks about Yukiko. Hearing the latter is fine, Nanako expresses relief.
"That's good!" Nanako says with cheer.
Francis continues to make awkward small talk with Nanako, who continues cheerfully despite the former's clumsiness.
At night, the inner voice speaks.
Thy bond pertaining to the Magician Arcana has strengthened, and Thou shalt receive extra power when fusing and wielding Persona of aforementioned Arcana.
