IS 40

It's was Valentine's Day and love was in the air but for Ichika, he found himself surrounded with dozens if not hundreds of gifts including a 1/8th scaled chocolate model of himself.

He heard a knock at the door and as he answered it to see Kaitlynn say "I knew you would have a good amount, but this is ridiculous."

Ichika sighed "I know, Chifuyu gave me detention due to how much of a distraction this amount brought."

As Kaitlynn grabbed a couple of boxed chocolates she confidently proclaimed "Well as your friend it's my duty to help you eat some of these ."

Ichika looked her dead in the eye and asked "You just want to eat some chocolates don't you ."

Kaitlynn smirks and responds "Look at it this way, yes I could by chocolates tomorrow as the prices are at their lowest after today. But I get to save money and help you out at the same time."

This got Ichika to smirk as he said "You know , you and Wyatt are pretty similar."

Kaitlynn pouts and argues "Not really, if he was here he wouldn't asked and eat his weight in the stuff."

After imagining the sight of Wyatt taking a good portion of Ichika's chocolate for himself, the Japanese boy says "True but that part is kinda of what make him , him."

Kaitlynn smiled "Yeah he always seems to help out in the weirdest ways. Like for my Valentine's present, instead of flowers or a teddy bear,he sent my unit's developers a new weapon installment."

Confused Ichika asked "So did you want to get flowers and a teddy bear?"

Kaitlynn answered "No in fact it's a lot better he didn't. That's because giving me such a weird gift shows it's his way of saying I love you."

Ichika lies down on his bed and said "Must be nice to be dating someone, between you two , Dan and Utsuho, I'm a fifth wheel."

Kaitlynn says "Well I mean it's not like you have seemingly hundred of options. Just look at this chocolate."

Ichika explains "Don't be ridiculous this is just obligation chocolates."

Realizing what she just said Kaitlynn nervously replied "Oh yeah that's definitely the case."

Curious at what she meant , Ichika asked "Is there something you're hiding from me Kaitlynn."

At that moment Kaitlynn stuffed several pieces of chocolate in her mouth and mumbled "Nothing to hide here, I'm an open book."

Slightly unsure Ichika responds "Alright." As he took another bite of chocolate.

At that moment Chifuyu enters the room and said "Good, since the both of you are here that makes things a lot easier."

Ichika asked "Hey, Miss Orimura what did you wish to talk about?"

Chifuyu took a couple boxes of chocolate and said "First to get some of the chocolate these girls gave you and second to talk more about Madoka's enrollment."

Kaitlynn gets up and says "Well I guess this my cue to leave."

Before she could leave the room, Chifuyu stopped her and said "This involves you as well. We did some thinking and made a decision that you would be the best choice for Madoka's roommate."

Kaitlynn says "Wow I'm honored but extremely confused why I'm the best choice."

Chifuyu explained "Because out of the representative cadets, you've caused the least trouble. Besides you also seem to have a more level head when it comes to these sorts of situations."

Kaitlynn nervously laughs "Well if you say so I guess I can do it."

Chifuyu smirks and said "Good. By the way Ichika , Madoka will be allowed to have visitors starting this weekend. So on Sunday meet me at the hospital."

As she left the room Kaitlynn couldn't stop nervously laughing as Ichika asked "Are you okay, Kate."

Kaitlynn says "Not really because my next roommate is going to be an ex-terrorist that tried to kill us."

Slightly hesitant, Ichika replies "Well I think by the time she gets here, she will be more sociable."

Kaitlynn stopped chuckling and asked "So exactly why is she at a hospital, she didn't seem to be that injured in the last battle?"

Ichika explains "From what I was told there's explosive nanobots in her head. Plus it seems that she's malnourished due to her diet consisting of supplements."

Kaitlynn says "As I expected, you could tell from her body and eyes she hasn't been eating much."

Ichika asked "So do you think you can open up to her? I know she hasn't been the best example of a friend, but she deserves a chance. For all of her life she's been used and treated as a soldier. That's why please be her friend."

As tears began to fall down his eyes, Ichika felt Kaitlynn's hand till his head back up.

The girl smiles and answered "Don't worry I'm fine with helping her out. At least if you let me have that chocolate figure."Before Ichika could stop her , Kaitlynn took a bite out of the chocolate model's arm.

Kaitlynn's face contorted in disgust as she heads to a garbage pin to throw up.

Ichika explains "Sorry I should've warned you that Cecilia made that one." As he hands her a wet towel to clean herself up.

Slightly breathing heavy , Kaitlynn said "Come on Ichika you got to warn a girl before she eats poison like that."

As the two begin to chuckle Ichika says "I don't know why but hanging out with you feels different than the rest of the girls."

Curious, Kaitlynn asked "What do you mean by that, I'm a hundred percent sure I'm a girl."

Ichika says "It's not like that, whenever I talk to the other's it like their either always angry or too shy to talk. Well except maybe for Charlotte."

Kaitlynn thought "Shit,shit,shit. Don't give him any other information, I can't let the councils work be put to waste."

At that moment, Kaitlynn says "Don't know, must be a British ,Chinese,French,Germany and Japanese thing. Look at the time I have to go."

Slightly unsure of that answer Ichika says "Alright , well I'll see you at class tomorrow."

Before he knew Kaitlynn rushed out the door as she thought "Let's just hope he doesn't wise up to things."

Later during the weekend, Ichika was making his way to visit Madoka , he thought "Man I don't even know what to talk about. I mean sure she's my sister but it's hard to have a normal conversation after all the times she's attempted to kill me."

Right when he made it to the front desk of the hospital, the receptionist ask "May I ask for your name and who you're visiting today."

Ichika answered "My name is Ichika Orimura and I'm here to see my sister , Madoka Orimura."

The receptionist realized who was standing in front of her and said "You know my sons are big fans of yours. Do you mind if you can sign something for me."

As she hands him a pen and paper, Ichika signed an autograph for her.

The receptionist goes through her computer and then hands Ichika a visitor's sticker. She answers "Your sister is staying in room 525 in the west wing."

Ichika bows and says "Thank you." As he goes off to see his newly adapted sister.

While making his way through the building he thought "Let's just hope she's in a good mood."

As he finally made it to her room, Ichika saw Madoka just staring at the ceiling.

Ichika makes his presence known as he says "Hey sis, how's it going?"

Madoka looks at him and says "Well I had to go through surgery to remove the nano-machines in my head and I've finally get to eat good foods instead of vitamins and supplements. So it's an improvement."

Ichika chuckles "Well if you think hospital food is good, you'll think fast food is gourmet."

Madoka stares at her brother and asked "So can I ask where, Chifuyu is?"

Ichika answered "Well I decided to come early so we can get to know each other better. Chifuyu will be coming by a little later."

Madoka says "Alright, so what do you want to talk about then?"

Ichika thinks and says "Alright ask me anything, I'm an open book."

Madoka thinks and says "Let's see , how's about you tell me more about the academy."

Ichika answered "Well it can get really crazy most of the time. The president is pretty eccentric and the student body gets riled up easily. But once you get to know everyone their pretty good friends."

Madoka says "Weird I thought one of them was your girlfriend or something."

Shocked at this statement, Ichika says "Come on they're just my friends, it's nothing like that."

To his surprise Madoka laughed and said "Really that's how you see things, it's obvious they're in love with you."

Ichika couldn't process this information and says "No way you have to be joking around right."

Madoka asked "In all the time you've known me, when have I ever joked around about something?"

Hearing this Ichika immediately calls Dan on his phone to have conformation ,From the other line, Dan says "Hey buddy is there something wrong?"

Ichika replies "Well I'm with Madoka and she told me that the girls were in love with me."

For about ten seconds the line went silent until Dan said "Wow I never took her for a jokester. Mind if I get a chance to talk with her?"

Ichika says "Sure thing , just give me a second." Unknown to Dan, Ichika put the phone on speaker.

Dan says "Okay Madoka pretend you're joking. Me and the rest have been keeping Ichika oblivious for good reason, so just play along. Eventually he'll make his decision but we can't force it."

After taking a deep sigh , Ichika says "Don't worry both of us get the idea."

Hearing his voice shocked Dan as all he could says was "Shit guess you heard me?"

Slightly aggravated that his friend was keeping a secret, Ichika asked "How long have you guys known , who else knows?"

After a sigh, Dan answers "I'm pretty sure it's everyone but you. There's even a bet on who you ended up."

Ichika was completely dumbfounded at this information as for the first time he began to see that all of the girl's weird behavior was from their respective crushes on him.

Madoka grabs the phone and says "He's just froze while standing up, is that a bad thing."

Dan responds "No he should be fine, I remember Wyatt telling me this is how he would react if he was told without warning. But he should be fine in a bit, Mighty M."

Madoka harshly replied "Yeah I don't do nicknames, so never call me that again."

Dan says "Alright then, guess I'll properly met you another time then."

He hung up the phone as , Chifuyu walked in and asked "Why is this idea frozen"?

Madoka responds "I told him that his "friends" were all in love with him and his friend Dan accidentally confirmed it."

To the ex- terrorist surprise, Chifuyu says "Damn guess I owe Yamada a bottle after this. Anyways I came by with some food."

Madoka says "I'm alright, I ate not long before Ichika came by here."

Not listening to her explanation, Chifuyu plopped the food by her desk and said "It might be from the

convenience but it will taste a lot better than the food here."

Nervously Madoka responds "Sure thing, I'll eat it later."

Ichika broke out his trance and asked "Chifuyu, what are you doing here?"

Chifuyu says "Good seems you're out of your trance. So seems you finally found out the truth."

Ichika took a seat down and said "It's just a lot to take in. But thinking about it, it all makes sense. How can I be so idiotic to this type of thing."

The two woman look at him and answers "Because you're extremely dense to these type of things."

Chifuyu then asked "Well then which one of them do you like the most?"

Shocked ,Ichika proclaimed "How can you expect me to make a choice like that after just finding this information out."

Madoka says "Really you haven't even thought about asking any of them out. What kind of guy are you."

Chifuyu says "I know right, I thought once Wyatt and Kaitlynn started dating, he would finally stop being oblivious. But I guess I was wrong."

Ichika ask "Is it possible that I can try to forget any of this happened."

Chifuyu says " Try all you want but as the old saying goes "you can't unlearn what's been learned". So sooner or later you'll have to make a choice."

After about two hours of talking with his two sisters, Ichika made his way back to the academy. He made his way to Kaitlynn's room to speak about this new development further.

Once Kaitlynn invited him into her room, she asked "Hey Ichika what's with the serious face all of the sudden?"

Ichika says "I found out all of the girls are in love with me and everyone else has been hiding it."

Kaitlynn says "Damn it, it was Honne who spilled the beans wasn't it?"

Ichika answered "No Madoka told me and then I called Dan who I tricked into confirming it."

Kaitlynn smirks and says "Well looks like Wyatt owes me some meal tickets."

Shocked Ichika says "Wow guess they wasn't kidding that everyone knew. And somehow you're all betting on my love life."

Kaitlynn says "Those of us that wait on the sidelines decided to make our own fun from this thing. But enough about that did you make a choice."

Ichika groans as he says "Just thinking about it is giving me a massive headache. I'm not even sure I can make a choice."

Kaitlynn says "Well that's to be expected but you do know you will have to eventually. Especially if you have feelings for one of them."

Ichika says "Thanks Kait, when I do find out an answer, you'll be the first person I'll tell."

Kaitlynn says "Sure thing, I'll see you at class on Monday."

As Ichika left, Kaitlynn thought "Well looks like Pandora's box has been unlocked. Let's see when it finally opens up."
