Poor Kyle was still in a coma-like state. He was still alive, but his mind wasn't exactly working properly. For him, it was like he was in a dreamless sleep a little bit. However, in his head, he was seeing visions of the eagle that attacked him, obviously scaring him for life after the horrific attack. Even animals like America's national animal can be quite unpredictable.
Of course, he didn't know that this eagle had chicks in her nest up on a tree. Mother nature has some of the most unpredictable things many humans cannot foresee. She can be a cruel mistress as most of the populace would put it.
Kyle had learned this the hard way not to really get too close to an bird's nest, and he was given a cast on where the bite was so it wouldn't bleed anymore. It was a really good thing the birds' beak didn't go deep enough into his spine or his wind-pipe, otherwise, he wouldn't have survive that attack. This bird that attacked the troubled delinquent didn't seem like any ordinary bald eagle, because normally- eagles do not really attack humans so viciously like that, even if they do come a little close to their territory.
Inside his body, some kind of mutation and chemical was fusing with his DNA while in his coma. The doctors were trying to identify the diagnosis on him to see what was wrong, but it was taking a little while.
"What could this mean?" asked a male doctor
"I do not know for sure, Doctor Erikson." the first one replied. "his DNA seems to be... altering in himself. The beak of this eagle probably had some kind of virus or bacteria in it while attacking this boy. Something is... changing."
"Do you think he'll wake up?" a third doctor asked
"It is... uncertain. But I am sure he will reawaken and he will be fine too. Let's just all hope for the better on the boy. Prepare the CPR, nurse!"
"Yes doctor Bronson." a female nurse said, giving him the CPR with the AED, and he rubbed them together. "Give it all you have, sir."
"My plan exactly. And... clear!" he then shocked his chest to get the life support back on him, but it didn't work. "Dang it!" he gritted his teeth. "No response from that." he began rubbing the shock pads faster and harder than before to make it more powerful. "And... CLEAR!" ultimately, that did the trick, and Kyle awoken from being in a coma, hyperventilating and looking at his surroundings.
"What happened to me?" he gasped, looking quite startled like a puppy during a thunderstorm. "Where's my dog? Did I die?" He was gently touched by Dr Bronson on his right shoulder while he was still panting
"Don't worry, son. Your retriever is perfectly fine. Your parents were more than happy to take him as they came to see what happened." Bronson stated. Suddenly, the emergency room flew open and it was Kyle's parents, looking quite worried for their own son, along with their family dog. Their names were Hebert and Annie Stoner, both of them rather dysfunctional a little bit. These parents had a tendency to be neglectful of taking care of their son and sometimes forget to help him out in certain things.
"Kyle!" said Annie, hugging her son, much to Kyle's annoyance. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine mom." Kyle groaned. "Get off me." then he pushed her away.
"What is your deal?" asked Hebert, "you're still alive, and we drove all the way from home to see if you were alright."
"Sure, NOW you guys care?" Kyle narrowed his eyes. "You guys are ones to talk. You always chose yourselves over me and prefer to think of yourselves efore everyone else. Now you are just worried?"
"Oh don't be ridiculous." said Annie. "We have not neglected you."
"Yeah you are, you put me with a mean babysitter for three years, and you never spent time with me!"
"OK, let's just calm down now, sport." Kyle tried to intervene.
Kyle seemed to really hate his parents for a couple of reasons that involved personal affairs in his private life. Alas, he just wanted to get out of the hospital and be done with this. "Can I go, doc?"
"Almost. You just need a tetanus booster."
"A shot?" Kyle shrieked. "No! No! No! I hate shots!" he began shaking and felt his parents hold him by the arm so he wouldn't escape.
"Relax, it will not hurt." said the doctor.
Right before he could inject the needle in his skin, Kyle looked more scared than ever, and he let out a loud yell that created a supersonic wave of noise manipulation. The force of the sound-wave was so powerful that it sent the doctor flying through a wall, knocking him out cold. Everyone around Kyle was so shocked by this that they backed off Kyle. "Did... I just do that?" Kyle looked at his hands. An idea came in his head, and looked back at the doctors and his parents. "Let's see if I can wipe you out."
"Wait a minute, wait a minute!" said Annie. "Don't be rash, sweetie!"
"Yeah, think about us." Hebert added pleadingly.
"Well you guys have never thought about me enough!" he was about to kill them all with a supersonic wail, but in the end, he decided not to. He knew that he needed to get out of there so the cops wouldn't see him. He most certainly did not want to go to juvie again, and face a double sentence on his head He ran as fast as he could, and found himself at the hospital lobby where the patients and visitors would sit at.
Kyle began running out of the hospital building so he could go back to his house to figure out what was going on. Luckily, his house was only a few miles from the hospital and he immediately barged in the front door, locking himself in his bedroom. Thinking and thinking, he had a sudden realization. He had powers from the eagle bite, and he has the powers to produce sound manipulation to his will. Thinking some more, he thought of something sinister. Kyle realized that with this powers, he can do whatever he wanted to do with them, and with his little criminal record he had, it was not going to be very pretty.
