Someone had attached a Go-Pro to Martian.
That was it, that was the next video. Set to a jaunty piano tune, one which no one had heard before and therefore was credited to Virgil, the camera followed the cat as she made her way through the day. The video was, of course, sped up through the process, lest it be hours long. It was, in essence, a Day In The Life of an Island Cat. That's what they named the video, at least.
Martian was a far more active cat than anyone had previously realized. Not that the world really would have known that from what little they'd seen of her. They did, however, know that she was an incredibly affectionate cat with a love of all her boys.
The morning started with her cuddling with Scott, who had just come back from his morning run. The man was leaning against the kitchen counter, drinking his morning coffee. His gray tank was soaked with sweat, and he was barefoot.
Martian jumped up onto the counter and demanded attention, shoving her face up under his chin, which made for some interesting angles on the camera for sure. Scott seemed incredibly amused to find her wearing the Go-Pro, and he was talking to her, but there wasn't any sound other than the music.
Scott left the kitchen after a while, shooing her off with an amused smile. She sat on the bottom step of the kitchen stairs for a while, licking her paw, before moving on.
Gordon was swimming laps in the pool. Martian hopped up onto one of the pool loungers and stretched out, watching him swim. After some time he pulled himself out of the pool and came over to give her a pat. She shook herself like a dog at the wetness, but still nibbled on his fingers.
She jumped off the lounger and wandered around for a while, exploring crevices of the house. She played with Max for a bit, as the robot trailed around a string for her. She chased dust motes in the sunbeams.
Martian jumped up onto Alan's shoulder as the kid came into the kitchen for breakfast. He laughed at the Go-Pro, pulling her from his shoulder and giving her a hug before setting her back down. John came in, down from Five for the day, and Martian demanded attention from him as well. Apparently, John gave really good ear scratches, because she kept asking for more, her little paws pulling his hand back towards her when he would try and stop.
Breakfast took precedence over the cat, though, and after John shook his head while looking at the clock. He gave Martian a thoughtful look and then scooped her up and carried her up the stairs to the bedrooms. He made his way to Virgil's door, slipped it open, and dropped her inside.
The room was dark, the glass wall shaded, and there was a large lump buried under the blankets in the bed. Considering the clock said it was after ten, John was obviously wanting Martian to wake the bear. She didn't hesitate in jumping up on the bed, probably used to being used as an alarm clock.
Virgil peeked out from under the pillow that was covering his head, scowling at the cat. She simply sat there, gazing back. He poked at the camera, rolled his eyes and pulled the pillow back over his face. Martian got up, stretched, and then pounced on him.
What followed was a bit of a game where Martian would pounce and Virgil would push her away irritably before the man finally gave up and got out of bed. She followed him around his room, although he shut the bathroom door in her face and she just stared up at it before he finally exited and pulled a robe over his shirtless torso. She pawed playfully at his piano-key-print pajama prints, chasing him out of the hallway and all the way down to the kitchen, where Scott had emerged again to hand Virgil his first cup of coffee.
Breakfast over with, and Martian followed Scott to the desk, where they spent the next three hours or so working. Well, Scott was working while Martian lounged. There was a call out to a situation somewhere in France but Martian wasn't paying much attention to the holographic interface that Grandma ended up taking care of, since John wasn't currently on Five and had gone to the rescue in Two.
Virgil was grounded, it seemed, since he didn't join the rescue. Martian ended up following him—now awake, showered and dress—into his studio, where he spent some time going through his inspiration. Apparently, he wasn't allowed to actually paint anything yet, to keep him from pulling the stitches that had earlier been blurred out of the video.
The look around the studio was nice; most had only ever seen a glimpse inside. Virgil's current painting looked to be a rather impressive piece of a glacier on the ocean. It was mostly finished, but still needed a bit of work. Virgil was busy flipping through photos and sketches, showing some to the cat every once and a while, and obviously talking to her.
After a while, Brains poked his head into the room and distracted Virgil, who left with the smaller man. Martian stretched, got up and wandered out of the room and down the hall. She went up to the bedrooms, where she nudged her way into Alan's room, jumping up next to him on the bed, where he was working on homework. He indulged her need for pats but seemed to be keeping focus on his work.
Martian wandered off after a nap, heading out of the house and into the jungle. Nothing ever stopped her from leaving the house, so it was obvious that the Tracy boys weren't worried about her wandering. Which led many to wonder if John had microchipped her like he had his brothers.
The view of the jungle from such a perspective was incredibly fascinating. Martian ran through the undergrowth before seeming to grow bored and launched herself up a tree. She stalked birds, was frightened by a large spider, found the best sunbeams through the trees. And then the jungle broke into a pebbly beach and she followed a little crab to the water's edge.
Something caught her attention and she looked back towards the house, not too far in the distance. The amount she'd traveled had seemed so long due to how small she was, apparently. She took off at a sprint towards the house, dodging through the trees and roots and bushes.
It was dinner time, apparently, and all five brothers were present for it. The situation in France had been easily rectified. John had cooked, a scrumptious meal of shrimp scamp, and had even made up a little cat-safe plate for Martian, which she dug into with a fervor.
Grandma, Kayo and Brains were present as well, and each gave her a pat as she passed them. The night ended up finishing the media room, everyone curled up together in a bit of a dogpile mess watching a movie. An old Pirates of the Caribbean movie, from the look of it.
Martian took her place proudly in the center of the pile, right on Scott's lap.
And the camera went dark.

All those boys adore that cat. You can tell by the amount of cuddles she gives. Even when Virgil is being a grumpy bear he was careful with her!
