A/N: Here's another one for you guys. It's fairly short, especially compared to the last few chapters, sorry for that. I had a lot that I wanted to put in, but it wasn't coming out right. I just wasn't feeling the fight vibes either so I decided to save the Buu vs Broly fight for next time. I know that makes me a big fat liar but oh well. Hope you enjoy it anyway. Thanks for reading.

Chapter 40

Dabura couldn't help but smile at the surprise and rage displayed on Gohan's face. "I suppose an explanation would not go amiss. I'm sure you have many quekK-KK-K!"

His patronizing words trailed off into choking sounds when Gohan got his hand around the demon king's throat. Towa had never seen anyone move so fast and for a moment, she was frozen in a state shock.

"You!" Gohan growled as he held his victim aloft and tightened his grip. "Piccolo's dead thanks to you! If you had let him free, he would have survived, but now…" His voice started to tremble from his fury. "Then you pull me away from the fight with Buu! WHY!? My friend is back there!" A horrible thought crossed Gohan's mind. 'Zangya!' "Whatever you're planning, I don't care! Just send me back now!" He growled through grit teeth, his grip growing ever tighter.

"You leave him ALONE!" The sight of her brother gasping for air snapped Towa out of her stupor, and she charged Gohan, jumping up and bringing her staff down on him. Gohan turned his head to look, then grabbed the end of her weapon, twisting it and slamming the opposite end against the ground and the girl along with it. All this he did while maintaining his grip on the Dabura.

He yanked the staff from her hand and then held it to her throat. "Stay out of this." He warned and Towa looked up at him with fear filled eyes. She had never known anyone that had this kind of power. He turned back to Dabura who was turning pale from lack of air.

"If you don't send me back right now, I'll kill you."

"Please… Please don't hurt him." Towa begged with her own staff at her throat. "You don't understand!"

"I understand that he worked for Babidi and tried to resurrect Majin Buu. He killed at least one person and he turned Piccolo to stone then refused to release him, causing his death! Not to mention he took me out of the fight with Buu, probably so that his pet monster can ravage the universe." He turned back to Dabura. "Now, are you going to send me back?"

"Nk" Dabura tried to form words but Gohan's grip was too tight.

"I'll take that as a no. Any last words?" The teen asked mockingly.

"Nt… Ded" The demon king forced out.

"What was that?"

"Pic… lo… not… dead…"

Gohan's eyes widened at this news, then quickly narrowed again in anger. "Piccolo's not dead, huh?" He dropped Towa's staff and started to gather Ki in his hand. "You really must think I'm an idiot."

"Glad to see that you're not as gullible as your father." A familiar voice spoke, and Gohan's Ki charge dissipated. He turned around to see a familiar green man, standing with his arms folded and smirking as he surveyed the scene.

"P-Piccolo?" Gohan was stunned. He almost couldn't believe it, but everything about the person before him, right down to his unique Ki signature, told him that this was indeed Piccolo. He none to gently tossed Dabura away and stared transfixed at his friend.

Dabura coughed violently and his younger sister got up and checked to see if he was ok.

"You!?" Towa yelled at Piccolo. "Why couldn't you have interrupted sooner!? Dabura almost died just now!"

"Sorry, I was enjoying the show. The guy had it coming to him." Piccolo replied with a shrug.

"Piccolo! It really is you!" Gohan rushed to his mentor's side and picked him up in a bone crushing hug. He put him down and started to bombard him with questions. "I thought you were dead! How did you get out of the blast? How come you aren't a statue? Where is this place? What's-"

"Easy Gohan." Piccolo placed a hand on his student's head. "Take a breath."

Gohan did as instructed and calmed himself down and looked at Piccolo expectantly, waiting for an explanation. The namekian didn't take long to oblige. "It's all a bit complicated. I don't even know if I understand it all myself and I'm not sure where to start."

"Ahem." A cough drew their attention to Dabura. "If I may, perhaps I should explain things to the boy."

"Why would I trust anything you say!?" Gohan growled and was about to lunge but Piccolo put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

"You might want to hear this." Piccolo explained.

"Piccolo, the only thing I want from these guys is for them to send us back home. Who knows what kind of damage Buu's caused by now? I have to stop him!"

"Like you stopped him earlier?" Piccolo questioned. "Sorry Gohan, but from what I saw, he has you outmatched."

Gohan clenched his fists. "That was different! I used up too much energy by the time Buu absorbed dad and I let that fight drag on too long! If I had just finished it sooner I…" Gohan paused. "Wait, what do you mean from what you saw? You weren't there, I would have sensed you. How could you have seen the fight?"

"The same way I know that the earth and Zangya aren't in any immediate danger." The green man replied pointing at Towa.

"What?" Gohan raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Like I said, it's a little complicated. All I know is what they told me after bringing me here. They really should be the ones to explain it."

"But Piccolo-" Gohan was about to argue.

"Look, I'm not saying trust them, just listen to them." Piccolo said quietly. Gohan still hesitated and his mentor continued. "Remember that they pulled you out of that beam's way and healed you. They could have killed you while you were out, but they didn't. It won't hurt to just listen. If you don't like it, we can make them send us back to earth, but you should hear what they have to say first."

Gohan let Piccolo's words sink in. He was right, they could have killed him while he was unconscious. He supposed that if nothing else, that meant he at least owed them the chance to explain. Of course, his first priority was ensuring that his friends were safe and that the earth was not in any immediate danger. "Alright, I'll listen. But first, you have to show me that Zangya and the earth are still ok."

Dabura and Towa looked at each other and the elder sibling nodded. Towa hesitantly approached Gohan, still wary of the teen's anger, and held out a hand, materializing a purple crystal ball. "I am a sorceress." She explained. "With my powers, I can view almost any place that I wish. I have seen all the events that have transpired regarding Buu." She lowered her hand and the ball floated in front of her. "I can view the present with ease and, while it is more difficult, I can see the past as well." She waved her hand over the ball and a frozen image appeared on the inside.

"Zangya!" Gohan exclaimed and Towa nodded.

"This is a scene from shortly after we brought you here." The images on the ball moved and Gohan watched with pride as Zangya went berserk and pummeled Buu. Then in horror as her assault had weakened her and Buu still seemed perfectly fine and finally, he watched in confusion as a familiar figure pulled her and Shin off of Buu's beam and disappeared.

"Kibito? What's he doing there? I thought he was dead?" Gohan wondered aloud.

"Yes, it seems he was allowed to somehow cheat death. The Kais do have a habit of flouting the laws of nature." Dabura commented bitterly.

"But where did he take them? Are they ok?" Gohan asked Towa.

"They are currently beyond my sight." She explained apologetically. "But don't worry." She added hastily, lest Gohan take his anger out on her. "I would be able to see them if they were dead. The only place I cannot see is the world of the supreme Kais. I'm sure that is where he took them in order to recover." Gohan breathed a sigh of relief. Knowing that she was safe was a load off of his mind.

"So, this is a scene from the past, but what about the present? Earth isn't safe as long as Buu's there."

"Perhaps, but the danger is not as urgent as you may think. It would seem that absorbing your father had an interesting influence on the monster." Dabura explained. When Gohan gave him a questioning look, he added. "Show him Towa." She nodded and Buu appeared on the crystal. To Gohan's surprise, the pink monster was in a restaurant chowing down in a manner reminiscent of his father.

"It seems that he has another kind of appetite that takes precedence over his one for destruction." Dabura mused.

"If he's anything like Goku, Buu could be at that for days." Piccolo said with half a smile. Gohan on the other hand, was not amused. "He's nothing like dad." He clenched his fists and turned to Towa, who flinched.

"Thank you for healing me." He offered sincerely, surprising the blue girl. "Also, for showing me that Zangya was safe, and the earth is still there." Knowing that Buu was still alive angered him, but it was outweighed by the relief he felt that he hadn't completely failed yet. "Now, please send me back there."

"What? But wont Buu just beat you again?" Towa questioned.

"Like I said before, I wasn't at a hundred percent when I fought him. Plus, there was… other stuff that kept me from killing him right away. But now I'm back at full strength and then some."

"What do you mean?" Towa asked him, but it was Dabura who answered.

"I have heard that a Saiyan gains strength after every battle. It appears that such rumors are true. Your power never ceases to amaze me Son Gohan."

The teen glared at Dabura. He may not have killed Piccolo, but he really just didn't care for the guy. "Yeah, it is true, and considering what I did to you last time, I'd be pretty worried if I were you."

"Oh, come now young demon." He offered a placating hand. "What have I done that has made you so angry? After all, your beloved Piccolo is unharmed, and my sister even saved you from death. I feel like that more than makes up for any ill will between us."

"…" Gohan disagreed with that, but he couldn't deny that they had helped him out. If nothing else, they healed his wounds and let him recover.

"Hehehe." Dabura chuckled. "You are far too honest my friend. But back to the matter at hand, even with your boost in power, do you really believe you can defeat Buu?"

"Yes." Was the teen's simple reply.

Dabura shook his head. "Forgive me if I still harbor any doubt."

"You want another taste of my power?" Gohan took a threatening step forward.

"Don't waste your time, Gohan." Piccolo spoke up. "We both know that Buu is in a completely different league than him. Besides, he has a point."

Gohan looked at his mentor as if he'd been slapped. "What? Piccolo I can beat him!"

"Listen kid, I've been fighting both against and with your father for a long time. He may be an idiot, but if Buu has his abilities and knowledge at his disposal, it's not going to be an easy fight." Gohan was about to argue, but Piccolo pushed on. "But let's say you are stronger. What's to stop him from absorbing you the minute you start to beat him? The only thing you did that had any lasting effect was the Atomic Kamehameha and he's wise to that by now."

"Absorbing is always going to be a threat and I'm not going to wait for him to get bored of eating before I do something. He needs to die Piccolo. Besides, there's still one thing I have up my sleeve that he won't be wise to."

"You wouldn't by chance be talking about that mass of darkness within you, would you?" Dabura asked with a knowing grin.

"What!?" Gohan looked at him with surprise. "How do you know about that?"

"Why, the answer is simple young Gohan. That is the whole reason we are here."

"What?"

"Didn't you find it curious? That so soon after your demon powers awakened the demon king himself would arrive on your planet? Surely you must have questions about your heritage? About your true power? A power that is too great even for you to control. You lock it away, but it's still there, waiting to break free. Is that not why you refused to unleash it on Buu the first time you fought? Perhaps you may have succeeded in defeating him, but at what cost? Why would the next time be any different? What good is power if you can't control it?"

"Dabura." Piccolo said impatiently. "If you don't get to the point, I may just kill you myself."

The green and red Demon kings stared each other down, but in the end, Dabura was the first to look away. "Very well, I will dispense with the dramatics. I was merely trying to whet the boy's curiosity." He succeeded, as he now had Gohan's undivided attention. "I first became aware of you a little over a year ago. It was then that I was charged with the task of aiding you. To help you fulfil your destiny of destroying Majin Buu."

"What?"

"Yes. You see, Buu was a scourge on my people. He was sealed away, but we always knew that he would break free of his prison. If he were to break free, it would only be a matter of time before he destroyed everything. Even the demon realm would not be safe from his power."

Gohan interrupted him. "But what about the Demon gods? I thought they were supposed to be strong enough to stop Buu?"

Dabura looked satisfied. "Ah, so you know about the true Majins after all. It is true that the Demon gods could destroy Buu, but they are locked away in the very lowest circle of the dark dimension. By the time a fight occurred between them, the rest of creation would be no more. I myself was training for this purpose, to one day become strong enough to defeat Buu should he ever return to attack my people. But three hundred years ago, Babidi seduced me with promises of power and as my servitude to him began, any hope I had of becoming stronger came to an end. I was forced to serve Babidi in fulfilling the ends which I sought to prevent. But after three hundred years passed, my true master brought me tidings of you. He told me all about your tremendous power but that you lacked control and if you were left unchecked, you might cause irreparable damage to yourself and the universe, but if properly harnessed, you would bring an end to Buu.

My master also informed me that Buu was on earth, which as fate would have it, was your home world. So, I informed Babidi that I knew of Buu's whereabouts-"

"Hold up." Gohan stopped his story. "You wanted Buu dead, but you purposely led Babidi to him and helped him in resurrecting him? That's just stupid. And besides that, why would your 'true master' give you the task of helping me when you were supposed to be under Babidi's control?"

"I have been fighting off Babidi's magic for some time. While I was unable to refuse a direct order, I had regained my own will for the most part. At least enough to plan behind his back. Nobody can keep the demon king enslaved for long. To answer your other question, I knew that Babidi would succeed in his ambition, whether that was 3 years from now, or three millennia. Your sudden appearance made me realize that the end of Buu was near. You see, Buu cannot be destroyed while he is in his shell. If a blast with enough power were to hit it and destroy it, all that would do is release Buu. Such was the genius of Bibidi's magic. It was a prison that acted as a shield. If an end was to be brought to the creature, it would have to be while he was awakened. I saw your appearance as an opportunity and did not know if another like you would ever come along.

So, I concocted my brilliant plan to aid you and destroy Buu, all in one fell swoop. I left nothing to chance. I enlisted the help of my dear sister, who happens to be a genius in the magical arts. She ensured that Babidi remained ignorant of your existence so he would not seek to enslave you. Then, to ensure that you would come to us, I found an acquaintance of yours, Videl. She seemed to hold a grudge against you and played her part as bait perfectly. I convinced Babidi to allow her to choose who to gather energy from and through subtle means, I encouraged her to choose you, the object of her hatred to satisfy her lust for revenge on you. Her actions in turn brought you to us. I did not count on the supreme Kai, but his presence was irrelevant. Buu was close to being released, and all that was left was for you to realize the power within so you could destroy him when he woke. Unfortunately, you have buried your power deeper than I thought and no matter how I provoked you, you did not release it. While you had enough power to defeat Buu in his fat form, you were no match for the power which he gains from absorption and I fear that now, even if you were to unleash your dark side, you would only share your father's fate and be absorbed as well. So-"

"So, your stupid and convoluted plan failed." Gohan finished for him with a bitter yet almost smug expression.

"It would seem so." Dabura acknowledged. "However, now we move onto what you would call, plan B. After you and your friends left me beaten on the beach, Towa brought me back to our home dimension and healed me. Having realized that my initial plan would fail as you had not achieved your true power, I instructed my sister to retrieve Piccolo just before the blast and we released him."

"But why?" Gohan asked in confusion. "Why would you turn him to stone in the first place then bring him here?"

"In hopes that you would release your inner demon. I needed to provoke you. Since that failed, I realized that you would not accept our help and were likely to kill us if we didn't ensure the survival of your friends."

"Ha! Got that right. I'm surprised Piccolo didn't kill you himself the moment you freed him."

"Yes, well, we came to an understanding once he realized our goal was to help you." Dabura replied with a distant look and Piccolo smirked.

"Oh, I get it." Gohan nodded. "He kicked your butt till you begged for mercy and brought me up as leverage." Gohan was anything but stupid and he definitely didn't trust Dabura. There were too many holes in his story. Too many things he left out. Who was this master? Why would they bother with him? And if he was free of Babidi's spell, why would he still work with him?

"Son Gohan, you are far more than mere leverage for us." Towa spoke up drawing Gohan out of his thoughts. "My brother and I do wish to help you achieve your full power. You have no idea what your very existence means to our kind. You are strong now, but if you let us help you, Buu will be nothing compared to you, no matter how many people he absorbs."

"So, you want to help me?" Gohan asked her and she nodded. He folded his arms and looked skeptical. "Out of nothing but the goodness of your hearts?"

She hesitated then shook her head. "One way or another, Buu is a threat to us all. Perhaps we should have approached you sooner with this offer and then you would have destroyed him as he was born but-"

"Why didn't you?" Gohan asked.

Towa sighed. "We did not think that you would accept our help unless you had to. Demons are not well thought of in your realm after all."

Gohan had to concede this point. He was wary of his darker half and that would have made him suspicious of these people. "Maybe, but now Buu is loose, and your plan failed."

"As my brother said, Buu would have been released sooner or later. Our goal was to ensure that he was resurrected while you were still alive, as opposed to a millennium from now. That way, you could do something about it. But all is not lost. We have brought you to the demon realm so that we can make your power whole."

This caught Gohan's interest. "Can you really do that?"

Towa nodded. "I can. You are as you are now because you were hit by a spell that was not meant to be cast on a demon. As a result, your power has fractured. Your soul is split in two. From what I understand, a similar phenomenon happened to your friend there." She nodded at Piccolo. "Only instead of just a split of the soul, they separated in body as well."

"That kind of split weakened me." Piccolo told his young friend. "As Kami and Piccolo, I was barely a fraction of my true power. When we finally rejoined, even though Kami was significantly weaker than myself, I became far more powerful as a result of becoming whole. Both of your halves hold significant power so just imagine the kind of power you'd have if you did the same."

"Indeed." Towa agreed. "However, after observing you, I believe that it will not be as easy as my brother had hoped. It seems we miscalculated the severity of the break and merely provoking you could not possibly help you achieve your full strength. At least, not for long."

"So how can you fix it?" Gohan asked out of sheer curiosity.

"Imagine that you have broken a bone in your leg." She began to explain. "If it is not set properly and if you continue to put stress on it, you will end up as a cripple. That is essentially what has happened to your soul. It broke and somehow, you split the divide even wider. With a bone, you simply break it once more so it can be properly set. With the soul… The same type of thing should work." She finished with a shrug.

"You, uh, you don't sound too confident." Gohan remarked. He didn't like the thought of breaking his soul further. On the other hand, he didn't care much for having a Mr. Hyde to his Dr. Jekyll. This could be his chance to become normal again without worrying about the monster coming out ever again.

"It is risky, and a great deal depends on you, but judging by your strength now, if we are successful, your power will be unmatched." Towa told him.

"Ok, but what exactly would you do?"

"Like the namekian, we would separate the two souls completely. Each one having their own body. Then, we would reassemble the pieces and the rebinding process will make the two become one again."

"Sounds simple enough."

"Believe me, it is anything but." Towa warned.

Gohan thought about it for a moment. If he fought Buu right now, he believed that he could win, but it would definitely be close. He could let his other half free, but like Dabura said, he couldn't control him and he might not want to relinquish control afterwards. Who knows what havoc that might cause. But if he got control of that power, he could beat Buu easily. He still didn't trust these demons. They were keeping something from him, he knew that. But the prospect of becoming whole was a tempting one. He turned to his trusted teacher.

"What do you think Piccolo? You buy any of this?"

"Yeah, I actually do. I knew something was different about you lately. If they can help, I think you should let them. I'm not saying I trust them, but I believe that what they have told us is true. I know their leaving a lot out, but that doesn't mean you can't just use them to get stronger." Gohan thought that was a good point. Then his mentor was quiet and thoughtful before he continued. "Look, I don't know if the same thing will happen to you, but I think you should know the possible consequences. When I fused with Kami, his personality all but faded away. I still retain traces of him along with his knowledge, but for all that, I am mostly Piccolo. The same thing could happen to you."

"Well, that's kind of what I want though." Gohan replied. "I'd rather go back to being just me."

"But what happens if it's not you who remains?" Piccolo said severely. "Kami was essentially the original of us, but I am the dominant one. What happens if the other half is stronger?"

Gohan hadn't thought of that. What If he wasn't him anymore? "Can that really happen Towa?"

"I don't know. While this type of thing is not without precedent, it isn't an exact science. I suspect that the final product will be a mix of the two personalities. But it could just as well be that one overpowers and devours the other."

That changed things. Or did it? After all, he was willing to let his dark-self take over if it meant saving everyone. Was he just being selfish like when he didn't destroy Buu to save his dad?

Dabura decided that it was time for his input. "The power you achieve as a result of this will transcend all others. Such power is never free. It always comes at a price. The question is, do you have to courage to pay it? Or will you let the universe die?"

Suddenly, Gohan felt a hand grip his shoulder and he looked up to see Piccolo. "You don't have to do this. Even without that power, we'll find a way to beat Buu. The choice is yours Gohan, but whatever you decide, make sure it's for the right reasons. You don't have to be afraid of your demons. For my part, I don't know anyone with a stronger heart than you. I'm sure you'll come out on top, even against yourself. You've been doing it for years."

Gohan smiled at the words Piccolo offered him. He took in a deep breath and exhaled. "Alright, there's just one thing I want to know before I decide." He looked Towa dead in the eyes. "Do you promise that everything you've told me is the truth? That this isn't a trick?"

Towa was about to respond but Dabura spoke over her. "Why would we trick you? All we want is to help-"

"I asked her." Gohan said firmly, shutting Dabura up. "Well?" He asked the girl.

Towa was petrified by his intense stare. The boy terrified her. He could destroy Dabura with ease if he wanted to. Even though his eyes held no animosity for her, she couldn't help but see the danger lurking beneath the surface. Finally, with a gulp she said, "I promise."

"Ok then." Gohan nodded. "What do I have to do?"

"Just stand like that and stay still for a moment." She took a few steps back and raised her staff. She uttered a string of enchantments that neither Gohan nor Piccolo could understand, and the tip of her staff began to glow bright purple. Finally, with a jabbing motion, she thrust the point at Gohan and a line of purple energy shot at him.

"GRYEAAAEAAA!" Gohan let out a howl of pain as the energy completely engulfed him. Piccolo stood firm but couldn't help but cringe, remembering the pain from his own separation. The teen dropped to both his knees as he continued to cry out in pain and then fell to his hands.

"HA!" Towa yelled as she yanked back like a fisherman bringing in their catch. The purple line connecting Gohan to her staff responded and in a gruesome mixture of cracks and ripping noises, a body began to rise up from the teen.

"Almost there!" Towa was sweating as she pulled back with all her might. "HRAA!" She almost fell backwards and Dabura rushed to steady her.

"Are you alright Towa?" He asked with concern.

"I'm fine brother. Just a little winded." She replied.

"Well, it is a difficult spell after alGYAAA!" He fell to his knees, grasping his shoulder. Towa looked down in shock at the smoking hole that was in her brother's shoulder.

"Sorry about that Debbie. But I tend to hold a grudge." Piccolo and Towa looked at the speaker and saw one Gohan getting up off the ground and a second Gohan with black sclera and red irises standing with two smoking fingers pointed at Dabura.

"Funny." Dark Gohan turned around to see his light counterpart standing tall and glaring at him. "So do I."

"Oh man," Dark Gohan said with a chuckle before cracking his knuckles. "This is gonna be great."

Break.

Zangya looked down at the old man who was leering at her with a big grin. "You wanna run that by me again?" She asked.

"Why, anything for you my dear." The old Kai tried to sound smooth. "You see, I have the ability to enhance a warrior's strength to their full potential."

"Right." Zangya nodded.

"The effect is rather dramatic. Even the lowly sparrow can become a mighty eagle!" He said dramatically.

"That's not how animals work, but ok. With you so far."

"I can sense in you a great amount of Potential."

"Tracking."

"Once I unlock it, you will be able to handle this Buu problem without any trouble."

"And all that you ask in return is…"

"Just one little, passionate, kiss on the lips!" Elder Kai's face was red and his eyes wide with excitement. He felt so lucky that this space babe was here on his planet and that it was she who freed him from the Z sword. He was almost glad that Beerus had sealed him away because now he was going to get a kiss from this little hottie. "Do we have a deal?" He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Ancestor, how could you!" Shin reprimanded.

"Great elder, I uh, believe you should reconsider." Kibito tried to sway him for his own good.

"Oh, buzz off you young whipper snappers! Don't be such prudes! I'm sure this sexy gal won't mind! I mean with big hair like that, she's gotta be a fiery one!"

Kibito and Shin looked at each other, both of them thinking the same thing. If this continued, there was no guarantee that the elder Kai would survive.

"But elder, please…"

"I don't mind." All three men turned to Zangya with surprise and one with glee on their faces. Zangya then put a finger to her lips and opened her eyes wide in a cute pose.

"EHEHE!" Old Kai cackled. "Ya hear that fellas!"

"But you know mister…" She started to act and talk cutesy and Shin and Kibito's mouths hit the ground. "I've never kissed nobody before. You'll be my first."

"Ooooh! OOOOH! Oh no need to worry doll! I'll make sure you never forget it!" How lucky could a guy be! Stealing such a pretty lady's first kiss!

"Weeeeellll. I'm awful shy…" She batted her eyelashes. "Do ya think… Maybe you could close your eyes? Pwease?"

"OH, YES! YES! WHAT EVER YOU SAY HONEY!" The elder Kai was now steaming from his ears and dancing with joy.

"Okie dokie then. Teehee!" She giggled. "Close your eyes mister."

He closed them.

"Are you ready?" She whispered into his ear and he nodded furiously.

"Okay then..."

He thrust his face forward to get closer to her.

"PUCKER UP YOU CREEP!"

A blue fist buried itself in his face and the next thing he knew, he was flying through the air crashing through tree after tree until he finally slammed into a boulder that turned to rubble and buried him.

"Ayeaheah… thum kith." He slurred as stars circled his head. Zangya appeared next to him followed by the other two and she picked the old man up by his shirt.

*SLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAPSLAP*

After a vicious string of slaps, Zangya held his swollen face level with hers. "Listen up old man! Not long ago I was an evil space pirate who rampaged across I don't even know how many galaxies. I have killed for far less than some pervert demanding sexual favors from me. There are only two reasons why you aren't dead right now. The first is that you're an old man who's been stuck in a sword and I have some degree of sympathy for your situation, having been sealed away myself. But the main reason I haven't crushed your head like a grape is because of a guy named Gohan. He changed me. He took me in, gave me a home. He gave me more to live for than just killing. He is the most important person to me, and I will not let him down. If anyone was going to get my first kiss, it would have been him. But he's dead. He was killed by Buu and I couldn't do anything to stop it. That monster took him away from me so now, I'm going to kill him. I will tell you this once. If you don't want to take Buu's place at the front of the murder line, I suggest that you unlock my potential ASAP. If you don't, you can watch from oblivion as Buu rampages across half the universe, while I destroy the other half. Do we have a deal?"

"Yeth ma'am." He said while nodding weakly.

"Good. Now, let's get this ritual started." She dropped him and he slowly got to his feet.

"Okhay den. Jutht thtand thtill while I pwepawe" Zangya folder her arms and stood tall, eying the old pervert with contempt as he began to walk around her and chant rhythmically.

"Well… at least nobody died." Shin sweatdroppped.

"Yes… I suppose so." Kibito replied wide eyed.

End Chapter.

A/N: Woah Piccolo's alive? Yeah well, like Dabura said, there was no way that Gohan wouldn't kill him on sight if he didn't at least have some form of insurance or peace offering in the form of 'I didn't actually cause the death of your friend.'

So, you know how I said a few chapters ago that I was not trying to copy bleach or Naruto? Well now I must eat my own words. Looks like I'm doing the same as them, though to be fair, I didn't get the idea of a face off from them, I got it from the confrontation song from the Jekyll and Hyde Musical. After all, the facing your literal inner demon trope is pretty common. Jekyll and Hyde, Banner and Hulk, Luna and nightmare moon (I have nieces), Naruto and Kyubi, Ichigo/hollow/Zangetsu, Nurarihyon, Yuyuhakusho, the list goes on and on. I just so happen to have added Gohan to that list. Wasn't trying to rip anything off. I will tell you that this aint gonna end with a hug like in Naruto. And honestly, I just really like the Demons of DBZ and I wanted to go a bit further with them.

While her appearance was brief, I hope you enjoyed Zangya in all her zandere-ness. I for one feel like she is justified. I mean, come on, she's had a rough day.

I will say this, because I see people not liking how I did certain things in this chapter. There is a really good reason why the demons want Buu dead, other than the fact that he will destroy everything, that I will reveal later. I don't know if that's how Buu's ball really works, but nothing I know of proves otherwise. Is Dabura's plan overly convoluted? Yes, but he's the devil so I think it's in character along with his monologuing. Piccolo is more open to the demon's assistance because he has, or had, a similar nature and doesn't think they are all evil. Plus he wants to help Gohan and lastly, Gohan is not blindly trusting them, but he does want to get his power under control and beat Buu.

Next time is the Broly fight for real this time. Buu saga will wrap up around ch 45 or so. Sorry if anyone feels like I'm dragging this out, but I'm trying to develop some characters. Also this is one of the longest sagas in the anime so please cut me some slack. Anyway, thanks for reading hope you enjoy.
