-Chapter 40-Christmas Eve-
-Rachel pov-
It is finally Christmas Eve! I smile at everyone gathered around the living room. They all seem so happy. I am so glad today has been great.
It has been a peaceful day today. I look at the girls and smile as they play. Something is trying to breakthrough my mind though. What am I missing?
"IT IS THEIR FIRST CHRISTMAS!" I get confused looks from everyone "They were born in May! This is the girls first Christmas!"
Everyone is silent and then everyone is rushing around. How the hell did I forget that? How did all of us forget this? Does this make me a bad mom?
"CALM DOWN!" We all look up at the grandmas "What is going on?"
"The girls first Christmas is this year!" Eyebrows slowly raise "What? Did you not hear what I said?"
"You all are about to extreme decorate the house for that?" Nancy motions around the room "It looks so wonderful! Why would you want to change all of this?"
"Cause it is a first Christmas" I giver her a confused look "How did you all do first Christmas?"
"Well" Alice and Ann share looks before turning toward us "It was a weird Christmas"
"We did not really do anything" Ann frowns "We did not have a lot of money that year"
"So what did you do?" We are all sitting and intently listening "How did you make it special?"
"Well" Ann smiles over to Alice "We dressed up as crazy disco people and sang for them"
Alice nods while smiling happily. She seems to be remembering this very fondly. They both seem so happy right now. A hum starts and Alice looks over to Ann.

We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Say you don't know me or recognize my face
Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night
Marconi plays the mambo, listen to the radio
Don't you remember?
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Someone's always playing corporation games
Who cares, they're always changing corporation names
We just want to dance here, someone stole the stage
They call us irresponsible, write us off the page
Marconi plays the mambo, listen to the radio
Don't you remember?
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
It's just another Sunday
In a tired old street
Police have got the choke hold, oh
Then we just lost the beat
Who counts the money underneath the bar?
Who rides the wrecking ball into our guitars?
Don't tell us you need us 'cause we're the ship of fools
Looking for America, coming through your schools
(I'm looking out over that Golden Gate bridge on another gorgeous sunny Saturday and I'm seein' that bumper to bumper traffic.)
Don't you remember? (remember)
(Here's your favorite radio station, in your favorite radio city, the city by the bay, the city that rocks, the city that never sleeps.)
Marconi plays the mambo, listen to the radio
Don't you remember?
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city (oh)
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
(We built, we built this city) built this city (we built, we built this city)
(We built, we built this city) built this city (we built, we built this city)
(We built, we built this city) built this city (we built, we built this city)
(We built, we built this city) built this city (we built, we built this city)
We all clap as they keep smiling brightly. I look over at my baby girls to see them smiling. I look over at my fiancés and they nod. We quickly run upstairs and get changed.
-Shelby pov-
"I wonder what they will do" I look at everyone and sigh "We really did start jumping the gun Huh?"
"Welcome to being grandmas" My mom smiles sadly "I just hate that I missed Rachel's first Christmas"
"I did too" I frown thinking about it "You think I have made up for it?"
"Absolutely" Judy lays her head on my shoulder "You have been amazing"
"You all have" We look at the moms and smile "You all are the best"
We go into light conversation and laughter. There are footsteps eventually and the girls are back. I hold back a laugh as I see their costumes. These are our daughters.
They decided to dress in all pink. They almost look like the girls from Grease. This should be good alright. Santana looks for a minute and then hits a button.
I pick up Juniper so they can watch their moms. This is for them. We just get a extra present watching this. I wish someone was recording this.
-All three-
We go together
Like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Remembered forever
As shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
That's the way it should be
Wah-oooh, yeah!
We're one of a kind
Like dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Our names are signed
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shooby doo-wop she-bop
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
We'll always be like one, wa-wa-wa-waaah
When we go out at night
And stars are shinin' bright
Up in the skies above
Or at the high school dance
Where you can find romance
Maybe it might be love
Rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
Dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shoo-be doo-wop she-bop
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doo
Rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong
Shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changitty chang sha-bop
Dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy
Shoo-be doo-wop she-bop
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doom
Wop ba-ba lu-mop and wop bam boom!
We're for each other
Like a wop ba-ba lu-bop and wop bam boom
Just like my brother is
Sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na yippity dip de doom
Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop
We'll always be together
Wha oooh, yeah!
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We'll always be together (Chang chang chanitty chang sha-bop)
We all cheer and I help juniper clap her hands. She giggles as they come over. The rest of the night goes by great. It was a great night before Christmas.
I know we say it a lot and it may get annoying. I am really glad we moved back to Lima. Without this place we may have ended up split. It has really helped bring us all together again.
This is the first of hopefully many more great Christmas eves in Lima.
