Chapter 40: The New Day
Abby's Safehouse, Paris, Midday
Abel entered the safehouse after jogging all morning, panting and coughing as he found Emily and Abby both waiting for him, sitting by the dining room table as he asked them "Morning... Did you two sleep well...?" His voice was like sandpaper and made them wince as he wheezed and forced himself to stand upright and joined them. Emily watched him closely, his body so tense you could see the veins bulging under the skin as he told them "I need to get back into the fight... But I don't have my powers anymore..." Abby patted his back and told him "We know... You lost your powers... And some monster appeared in the south pole..."
Abel sighed as he told them "... That monster is me..." making both turn to look at him as he explained "He's from another time... Or dimension or I don't know... But he is me... He has my powers... He has my abilities... He is trained... And he is untamed..." Abby rubbed her face as she muttered "Jesus Christ... An evil Abel... That's the last thing we needed..."
Abel nodded as he coughed hard, making Emily grab and hand him a cup of juice as she told him "Lena called this morning... She told me some things that I think should improve the situation..." Abel drank up and listened as she told both Abel and Abby "Junkrat is working on making you a protetic arm... Hana is awaiting your return, and hopes it's soon... And Winston is gonna meet with Doomfist for a seize fire between Overwatch and Talon..."
Abel spat the juice out at that last statement, not expecting things to have gone this badly so fast and asked "Does that mean...?" Emily nodded, and told Abel "Overwatch and Talon working together... Temporarily at least..." making him look at her and ask as he suddenly got up "Then we have no time to waste! We need to go and help out!" As soon as he took one single step he came crashing down, body too exhausted to even put up with his demands as Abby simply stated "I give you a ten on determination, but the execution is a big old zero."
Abelq groaned as he told them "My whole body won't respond..." just for Emily to tell him "Well duh, we have limits... And without substance to make things a little easier, your limits are more like ours... By the way, how far did you jog?" As Abby sat him on the chair be replied by exhaling "The river Seine... Why?" making both stare at him as Emily muttered "This is gonna take a lot of work..." Followed by Abby adding "Oh hell yes it will... And with a sight fixed on our heads at all time, doubly so."
Emily nodded as Abel grabbed an apple and asked "So what are we waiting for?"

Outside, across the street and atop of the Arc de Thriomphe watching through her scope was Widowmaker, watching as both women took Abel to the bathroom, both obviously telling him to take a bath due to them covering their noses. Her expression was motionless as she followed Abel as he clumsily took off his clothing in an awkward manner.
Meanwhile in Utopaea Junkrat worked on making an arm, placing scrap he usually brought and some paneling he... "Found"... on the work table as he started scribbling down notes on his chard notepad, all the while Torbjörn entered and told him "I'll help you... We will need all... Hands... On deck for the coming fight..." Junkrat cringed at the pun and told the old man "Look mate, we just need to make an arm... Nothing else, so... Tell me how the bloody hell I can stuff as many things as I can into one..."
Torbjörn rolled his eyes as Brigitte, Winston and Symmetra arrived, all bringing their own tools as the Junker grinned, popped his neck and put out the cinders in the end of his hair. While they worked Lena was refueling the their repaired Orca, all the while talking with Hana in a live video call.
- Three Days Later -
Back in Paris Widow watched from the rooftop as Abel did push-ups with only one arm, while both Negative and Positive Abby sat on his back. Emily had a video call going as she talked with Angela about Abel's progress, exchanging medical information as Angela gave Abel, for the first time, the green light to do more. Abel practically was dripping in his own sweat as he groaned and finally stopped, panting heavily as both girls got off him and watched him stand up and walk over to a tube sticking out the wall as he started doing pull-ups.
Emily watched him go on as the day passed, both her and Angela noticing just how fast he was getting his mass back, both trying to focus on anything other than Winston as the ape flew alone with Lena, both arriving at Hong Kong to meet with Doomfist as Winston sighed and told himself "Alright... It's show time... That was so cheesy..." Lena landed the Orca ontop of a large office building's landing pad and as soon as the ramp lowered were they greeted by Doomfist, Cain and Adam standing by the elevator doors.
- Two Days Later -
Junkrat argued with Brigitte after one of the components of Abel's arm had sprung out and embedded itself to the wall, Junkrat telling her that it was the lack of weight on the component while Brigitte told him it was the spring having too much tension. Torbjörn rolled his eyes as 76 entered and told him "Found what you were looking for." and handed him a block of tungsten. Torbjörn nodded and put it in his molten core, melting it down slowly as Symmetra finished the furniture that would contain the mechanisms.
One black eye later Junkrat growled as he finished making the arm's main joints, having suspension springs to compensate for hitting and carrying. Brigitte, who had a busted lip, finished the wiring and watched as her dad placed a spring loaded mechanism along the length of the forearm, within the mechanism a 7 inch tungsten spike that came out the wrist when flexed properly. They put the part together as Lucio arrived with a facemask and goggles and told them "My turn."
He held a spray paint gun and started giving it a black and titanium gunmetal tone, then let it dry for the afternoon. That night they tested the nervous connections to see how it reacted, with Winston testing the articulation, followed by the self defense systems, the spike springing out and going through a 2 inch plate of iron as Torbjörn smirked. Afterwards they just gave all the other systems a quick run down, communication piece worked good, motion and sound scanner both worked flawlessly, and most importantly, the sos beacon did as well.
Now came the hardest part... Shipping it out of Utopaea without alerting the delivery company.

Hana's Room, MEKA HQ, Busan 3 AM
Hana tossed and turned in her bed, unable to find a comfortable position as she finally gave up and sat up, grabbed her phone and dialed up Lena. She hummed impatiently as she waited, a minute passing as Lena answered, wiping some grease off her cheek as she asked "Hey live, what has you calling at this hour?"
Hana sighed as she asked quietly "Are you alone?" making Lena look up at the Orca and enter, locking the doors behind her as she replied "Now I am, what's wrong?" Hana turned the lights in her room on as she asked Lena "... Do you think we can beat someone like Abel...?" Lena sat on the pilot's seat as she gazed out at the night sky over India, making her sigh as she told Hana "Look love... We are gonna need to fight that... Thing... Sooner or later, so prepare yourself, it might just be the hardest fight we'll have in our lives..."
Hana sighed as she rubbed her eyes, all the while Lena looked at the time and told Hana "Their date should be starting soon." making Hana look up and ask "Huh?"
Lena looked at Hana, and told her "Emily and Abel were gonna go out tonight, their date should start soon, maybe an hour at latest." Hana nodded, and asked "Think they'll go further...?" making Lena raise a brow and ask "I don't know... Do you?" making Hana blush brightly as she stammered out "I- I'm Just saying! They're in Paris, you know, a city of romance, the mood will be... You know, there." Lena crossed her arms behind her head and replied "Well... I'm not opposed to the idea... I mean, Emily is very... Active... When it comes to her approaches towards me... But when it comes to men she turns into a shy mess... Plus... We have been talking about starting a family after Talon is gone... Who knows, maybe Abel might give us a hand with that...?"
Lena's awkward tone made it clear that even she was a bit uncomfortable when it came to talking about her and Emily's sex life, and she couldn't blame her, making Hana mutter "... I'm still a virgin..." Now both felt awkward, allowing Hana to add "Yeah... Actually was planning on going on a date with him as soon as he got here... Also, I think I found a way to send him the arm."
Lena nodded as Hana explained "Yuna is gonna take a few days off, she might go to France to visit some friends we have over there, so I'll have her take the arm to him, simple." Lena rubbed her chin and asked "She's alright with that?" making Hana snort and reply "She's fine with it, she won't mind." Lena smiled and simply told her "Just be careful, Hana, last thing we need is for you to get in more trouble than you already are in."
Abby's Safehouse, Paris, 8 PM
Abel groaned as Abby fixed his tie, making him mutter "Do I really gotta wear this monkey suit?" making her shock him lightly as she told him "You are taking a woman out to dinner, a fine woman, you must look the part of a gentleman, and you better be happy I at least found you a formal uniform from the old days of Talon." Abel looked himself in the mirror, his hair was combed back neatly, the suit in question, a two piece black suit with a light grey button up shirt and black tie, fit him like a glove, with the only piece of non regulated clothing being his eye patch.
He sighed as both him and Abby turned to see Emily coming out of the bathroom, both going beat red as they both stared at Emily. She wore a red open back, layered halter dress, her back, freckled shoulders and some of her cleavage exposed as she smiled and asked them "So... What do you think?" Abel was absolutely stunned, unable to keep his eyes off her as Abby answered "I'd say stunning, but then I'd be making a bad pun, so you look drop dead gorgeous."
Emily blushed brightly as she smiled, all the while Abby told Abel "Go outside, I'm gonna have a quick girl talk with her." Abel looked at them both, and sighed as he stepped out of the small apartment, allowing Abby to take a step towards Emily and tell her "Now... I know he'll behave himself this evening, and I know you and him will talk alot about what has happened and or will, but..." Abby paused, moving some strands of Emily's hair to the side as she fixed Emily's hair "... I will not be waiting for you... I know what you two are trying to do, and I can admire that, so use the night wisely... I honestly don't care if you go to some hotel or decide to spend the evening sight seeing... Just promise you'll take care of him properly... M'kay?"
Emily blushed brightly and nodded, then accepted her purse from Abby as the blonde told her "Good, now have a good one." Abby opened the door for Emily and allowed the redhead to leave, making her sigh as she split into her two younger selves, positive asking "Wanna scare the crazy cat lady down a few floors?" making negative smirk and nod.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the lobby, Abel held the door open for Emily as she stepped out, both walking side by side with Emily's arm locked with his. They both walked pass the late afternoon streets of Paris, heading south towards the Seine river, within five minutes they were entering the doors of the restaurant L'Astrance. Both took their seats as Abel asked her "How did you find this place?" Emily looked up at him as she smiled and asked "Never looked around when you go running, do you?" making Abel give an awkward smile.
This made her chuckle and ask "So... How's the shoulder feeling? Nothing hurts?" Abel shook his head as Emily ordered some red wine for them, allowing Abel to order his meal as Emily asked "Think you'll be alright? You know, after the fighting and all..." Abel looked at her with a shrug as he replied "Haven't really been planning that far ahead... Honestly I expect this fight to be the end of me..." Emily gave him a small frown, but she could see his point, every fight was getting dangerously closer to killing him, with the last one having him a hair away from having to be put six feet under.
Within a few minutes their meal had arrived, and Abel was avoiding the wine like if it was acid, not wanting to get drunk like he did with Ashe and her crew.
Both continued eating until the waiter came back with a third chair and set it down, forgiving himself as he explained "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were going to have a third member this evening."
Emily and Abel looked at each other then saw the blue skinned sniper approaching them, taking a seat beside them as Emily froze up.
