Chapter 40.
(Harry POV)
When I woke up. I headed down to the Hab.
"And I heard but did not understand and I said Master, what is the End of all these Things, and He said, Go Daniel, For the things are closed up and sealed until the End of Time," Daniel 12 verse 10," Ianto said.
"Sounds a bit close for comfort," Gwen said.
"This machine's on the blink," Owen said. "Keeps losing power, Sorry don't let me stop your portents of doom, Or have you finished,"
"No, More where that came from," Ianto said. "Abaddon, The Great Devourer who'll lead the world into shadow,"
"Enough superstition, Ianto," I said.
"You people love any story that denies the randomness of Existence," Jack said.
"Thanks, That makes me feel better," Ianto said.
"Ok, I've been fielding calls, The Government UNIT, CIA, Half the world are asking one questions," Jack said. "Is this because of us,"
"And is it?" Gwen said.
"I've run a profile on every reported temporal anomaly and tracked any physical or Temporal Pattern," Tosh said.
"Oh Shit, Those cracks in time trace back here to the rift, The Hab, In the centre," I said.
"What you're seeing around the world are ripples and after shocks," Jack said.
"The Rift is Splintering since we opened it," I said.
"Because of you," Jack said.
"What?" Owen said.
"You opened it without knowing what you were doing," Jack said. "You've caused the temporal cracks to widen. Time is seeping through,"
"Enough, If it wasn't for him we would still be stuck in 1941, Not something I want to repeat," I said.
"So are we going to sit around crying into our lattes or shall we do something about it?" Owen said.
"Bring those who've fallen through time back here, Into the vaults," Jack said.
"And do what with them," Owen said.
"I'll find out where they came from and send them back," I said.
"How?" Gwen said.
"Temporal Transporters, My Tardis has them online just in case I need a beam out and fast," I said. "Then We sort a way to stop the rift,"
"Hey, This is not the end of the world," Jack said.
"We know that," I said. "So Come on, Let's get to work,"
"Priority one Attendance. Hospital mortality rate's through the roof, They're sealing off the area they're designating a hot Zone," Ianto said.
"Owen, Tosh, Go," I said.
"I'm fine on my own," Owen said.
"And you'll be better with me along side now shut up and come on," Tosh said.
"I'm going to the Tardis fire them up so they are ready to start beaming them back," I said. Heading out and Back to the Tardis and Started to charge up the Temporal Transporter. Which I like Calling Time Transporters, but it only work for those that have been through time and Space. Once they were Charging I headed back down to the Hab.
So did Owen and Tosh.
"Well, What was it?" I said.
"They've got an outbreak of the Black Death," Owen said.
"What?" I said. "Have they got it under control," I said.
"Have what under control," Jack said.
"The Hospital's got an outbreak of Black Death," I said.
"Owen got the place quarantined and organised treatments for those who've been infected," Tosh said.
"Only consolation is it's treatable," Owen said. "But what happens when the next carrier comes through, Jack? Someone carry smallpox or Ebola, Or something from the future? We don't even know about yet, What do we do then?"
"Well, It's not doing us any good speculating," Jack said.
"We need to be prepared, We're helpless, We're putting sticking plasters on gaping wounds," Owen said.
"Owen, Enough," I said.
"What do you suggest?" Jack said.
"I suggest you lead us and tell us what the instructions are" Owen said.
"Owen. Enough," I said.
"No, come on, you're all thinking it too," Owen said. "You're the Bing man here, as you 2 keep all the secrets, well, now's the time to tell us how the hell we'll get out of this,"
"You want to know a secret? There is no solution," Jack said. "I can't fix this, Because this was never meant to happen, the first thing you learned when you joined Torchwood was don't mess with the rift, but you disobeyed those orders, And now everything that's happening is down to you,"
"I only disobeyed to get you back," Owen said.
"And Now people are dying," Jack said.
"So I shouldn't have bothered?" Owen said.
"That's Enough both of you," I said. "We have enough Shit to worry about first,"
"Who the Fuck are you anyway?" Owen said. "Jack Harkness? You don't even exist, We've looked So if you're not even a real person. then why should I follow your orders?"
"Get out," Jack said.
"What?" Owen said.
"Get out. I'm relieving you of your duty," Jack said.
"Jack, Fucking enough now," I said.
"You're done here," Jack said.
"What so that's it? The whole world is going to shit and you're going to fire me?" Owen said.
"For god's sake. Both of you. We need to stick together on this," Gwen said.
"If I can't rely on you, If I don't have your complete trust, you don't belong here," Jack said. "That goes for the rest of you, Anyone who agrees with Owen, Leave now,"
"Damn it, Jack now isn't the pissing time to split up," I said.
"So now we know how it is, so that leaves me 24 hours to savour the good times," Owen said.
"What are you talking about?" Gwen said.
"Think about it, Gwen, Nobody leaves this place intact, Some time in the next 24 hours, I get retconned, all my memories erased, I don't know where or when, But He'll get me," Owen said.
"Jack, this has gone far enough," Gwen said.
"So I guess this is goodbye, Good luck with the end of the world, I would say thanks for the Memories," Owen said heading out.
"For Fuck Sake Jack," I said. "Would he of done that, Would anyone them right now?"
Then I headed for the Tardis to see just how far the rift is going. It's still splintering. But How can I slow it down. Can't use the Tardis to seal it. it will take everything the Tardis has. Only other option, Open the rift fully and let it snap shut.
Then I headed back down.
"Tosh, What would happen if we open the rift again," I said.
"The Same as last time, Maybe make things a lot worse," Tosh said.
"What this about?" Jack said.
"We can open the rift again fully, let it snap itself shut, then all of this splinter will reverse itself," I said.
"Or destroy the Planet," Jack said.
"What other call can we make," I said.
As Gwen came back as she had stunned her boyfriend and put him into the cells.
"Did he wake up?" Jack said.
"Yeah, Yeah, he did," Gwen said. "Tosh can you bring up the CCTV of the vaults, Just leave it on the screen, I know it sounds, crazy, but,"
"Sure no problem," Tosh said.
"Thank you for helping me bring him here," Gwen said.
"I can't understand how Bilis was able to show you that vision," Tosh said.
"It was so real Tosh," Gwen said. "I was in my flat, it smelt like my flat it had all the sounds of my flat, I touched the Blood, I can still feel it on my hands, Rhys's Blood,"
"Or there something else going on," I said.
"Come on there still some work to be done," Jack said.
"Tosh," I said. As the lights went.
"We've got a security breach," Tosh said.
"Where?" Jack said.
"Wait, Something has been boring me. Why would Bilis Show Gwen this, Why? What is the point? What is he up to?" I said. "Oh no, Tosh Try tracing it fast,"
"All right nobody panic," Jack said.
"RHYS!" Gwen said running. As Jack followed her.
"Tosh, Try shut it down now," I said.
"I'm working on it," Tosh said. "Got it,"
Then I found Gwen and Jack. With Rhys. But he was already dead.
After we moved Rhys body to the Med bay. Jack was cleaning Gwen hands.
"You bring him back," Gwen said.
"No," Jack said.
"The resurrection gauntlet," Gwen said.
"Was destroyed," I said.
"Something else," Gwen said.
"Jack's right, No," I said.
"No, There's something wrong with time, so we, we can go back to the moment to the very moment," Gwen said.
"Gwen," Jack said.
"No, We're not making a fucking paradox," I said.
"There's something you can do, otherwise WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT OF YOU?" Gwen said. "You, bring him back,"
"I'm sorry," Jack said.
"Do you?" Gwen said.
"I'm so sorry," Jack said.
Then Owen came back in.
"Oh Shit, What happened?" Owen said.
"Bilis happened, Showed Gwen a vision of Rhys dead back at their flat so she brought him here. When a Security breach happened and Bilis killed him," I said.
"You came back," Tosh said.
"Are you all right, you ok? You all right," Owen said. "How many other people have got to suffer?"
"This ends now, Only way to stop time Splintering is to open the rift fully, Let itself Snap shut," I said.
"So what do we do?" Tosh said.
"Open it again, Get it to use the same coding for 1941 when we got pulled back," I said.
"No," Jack said.
"What other option is there, Jack?" I said. "We let things keep going the way it is, No we open the rift," Heading in and started to set it up.
"Use Emergency protocol one," Ianto said.
"Get away from the computer, Harry," Jack said.
"Jack," Owen said.
"This is a trap," Jack said. "All the cracks, they're diversions. This is what Bilis wants,"
"What are you afraid of Jack," Owen said.
"Rhea Silva," Ianto said as I put it in.
"I said Move," Jack said pointing a gun at me.
"Really Jack, you really going to point a gun at me, You know it's the only way to stop the splintering. Yes maybe this is what Bilis wants, but it's the only way to stop time splintering," I said grabbing my Phaser having it on max stun. "Last chance Jack, you know it's the only option,"
"No it isn't, We could destroy the city," Jack said.
"One city or the world," I said. "Sorry,"
"For what," Jack said.
"This," I said stunning him.
Then we got what was needed and then fired it up.
"Let's get out, Come on," I said.
"Ow!" Jack said. "Did you really have to shot me, What have you done?"
"Fixed it, Come on," I said.
As we got him up and headed out.
We managed to get out and away where we found Bilis.
"So come on Bilis what was all this for?" I said.
"From out of the darkness he is come," Bilis said.
"What is he talking about?" Gwen said.
"Son of the Great Beast, Cast out before time," Bilis said. "Chained in rock and imprisoned beneath the rift, All hail Abaddon, The Great Devourer, Come to feast on life, Th whole world shall die beneath his shadow, I look upon you My god and know my work is done," Then he vanished.
"What do we do?" Gwen said.
"Jack, think you take it now," I said.
"Get me out of the city. Just Harry and Gwen," Jack said.
Then we got to the SUV and headed out of the city.
"Ready," I said.
"Yeah, If Abaddon is the bringer of Death. Let's see how he does with me," Jack said. "If he feeds on life, then I'm an all you can eat buffet,"
"No, wait you're too weak," Gwen said.
"She's right Jack, I may not know what happened to you, But I don't know whether or not you will survive this," I said.
"Get out of here, Both of you, Drive as fast as you can," Jack said. "Bring it on," Drawing Abaddon.
It was working Abaddon started glowing. Then he just completely vanishes after this light from Jack hits him.
"Jack," I said As Gwen and I ran over. But nothing. After we got Jack back to the hab Gwen left.
When Gwen got back. Still nothing from Jack.
"You're certain?" Gwen said.
"He's ice cold. No vital signs," Owen said.
"Jack survived being shot, Not once, Not twice, But 3 times, 2 of them Bullets. The first one a Dalek, When I found jack again he said that he couldn't Die," I said.
"He was wrong," Owen said.
"Or maybe it is taking longer for him to come back," I said.
"I want to sit with him," Gwen said.
"Guys," I said as we left.

Gwen was down there for Days still sitting next to Jack.
"How long's she gonna do this," Owen said.
"Till he wakes up," I said.
It being another 2 Days and still nothing from Jack. Gwen is still down there so Tosh has gone down to talk with her.
"Still think he is going to wake up," Owen said.
"I don't know," I said.
Then tosh came back.
"Well," I said.
"She's coming," Tosh said.
"Then Check the rift," I said.
"Already done, nothing," Tosh said.
Then Gwen came back with Jack. Wait Jack.
As Tosh hugged him as well as Ianto. As I headed over.
"Took you long enough," I said.
"Yeah it did," Jack said.
"I'm not hugging you," I said.
"That's fine," Jack said smiling.
Then Owen showed up as Jack headed over to him.
"I," Owen said.
"I forgive you," Jack said. As he hugged Owen.
Then Owen, Tosh and Ianto went to get coffee's.
"What's happened to the rift?" Gwen said.
"It sealed up after Abaddon was destroyed," I said.
"But it's going to be more volatile than ever," Jack said.
"What sort of Visions would have tempted you to open the rift?" Gwen said.
"For something that would happen but It's impossible," I said. "Back later," Then I left back to my Tardis and grabbed my things, As the Klaxon went. By time I got to the control room. I saw Dad's Tardis was there. No what I could do with a break. So I left mine and used my sonic making her vanish as I went to the Tardis and went in.
