Lisa never really thought this would happen to them. With their personality and fashion choices, it was bizarre to them that well... they didn't really prefer female pronouns. Lisa wasn't sure about if they were a different gender, though.
But, how did they go about telling the others? They knew everyone would be supportive. Especially given Ako's adventures into pronouns. She had requested they all try out different neo pronouns for her, before ultimately deciding they were not for her.
So, Lisa knew that much. It just felt like it would be an awkward situation. They didn't know when it was best to approach it, or how to start off the conversation. They weren't like Ako, who just casually announced it after practice one day. They couldn't do that.
So, what did they do instead? Perhaps over text would work better? But, even then, what should they send?
Well, there was one person that they could probably ask.
Lisa: Hey, Ako! What are you up to?
Lisa had expected to have to wait a bit but got a reply almost instantly.
Ako: Homework :(
Lisa chuckled. Of course Ako would give them that reply. She hated homework.
Lisa: How is it going?
Ako: I'm lost. Onee-chan isn't helping. She's making me more confused
Lisa: Why did you answer me so fast if you're being tutored?
Ako: She left for a bit to answer a call
Lisa: And you're waiting for her to continue your work?
Ako: Yes? Please don't tell her!
Lisa sighed. Ako was a handful, wasn't she?
Lisa: I won't. Though, I wanted to ask you something, but I'm not sure if I should wait until you finish your work
Ako: I can answer it real quick and then I promise I'll do my work!
Lisa really wasn't sure if that statement was true. Knowing Ako, it probably wasn't. But, this was the chance to talk, even if it probably wasn't the best time.
Lisa: I don't know
Ako: Pretty please? I promise I'll do my work then!
Lisa: Alright. But you better do it
Ako: I will!
Lisa: Okay. So, you remember when you tried out different pronouns?
Ako: Yes. Why?
Lisa: Well. I think I kind of like different pronouns better now
Ako: You do? Which ones?
Lisa: They/them
Ako: Did you tell everyone else already?
Lisa: No. I'm still thinking how to being it up. You seemed the easiest to do first
Ako: I'm sure you can do it!
Lisa: Thank you, Ako. Now you better do your work
Ako: Okay...
Lisa could almost see Ako's pout. Well, at least that went well. Now to just find a good way to do that with the other three. Lisa was still stumped on what to say. Nothing was coming to mind still.
What to do? Who should they evwn talk to next? Who did they feel the most comfortable talking to about this?
Lisa decided on Yukina. Yukina had been beside them for years. She would understand. She would know how to react. Right?
Lisa: Hey, Yukina! Are you busy?
Yukina: No. Why?
Lisa: Can I tell you something?
Yukina: Sure
Lisa took a deep breath. Here they go. Time to tell Yukina. Hopefully it would go smoothly. Yukina was a bit... out of touch when it came to stuff like this. When Ako started asking for a pronoun change, Yukina was definitely the most confused, Sayo also being pretty confused too.
Lisa: Remember Ako wanting different pronouns?
Yukina: Yes?
Lisa: I think I want to try out new pronouns myself
Yukina: You're going to confuse me again
Lisa: Sorry
Yukina: Please don't be crazy
Lisa: They're not. It's just they/them is what id prefer
Yukina: That's pretty easy. I think
Lisa: Thank you, Yukina!
Lisa let out a sigh of relief. That had gone well. It was a little funny seeing Yukina start having a crisis over potential pronouns again. She was trying her hardest, but she got easily confused by it.
Now... who next? Sayo or Rinko. Rinko had been very understanding of Ako. That wasn't a surprise. She had probably been told before they all had anyway.
Lisa: Rinko~? You available to talk?
Rinko: Yes. I just finished up my school work
Lisa: Ako's being tortured with tutoring today
Rinko: She mentioned Tomoe threatening to do that if her grades dropped again
Lisa: Anyway, not exactly what I came to talk about
Rinko: What's up?
Lisa: I've been thinking of using different pronouns recently
Rinko: Did you find any you want to try?
Lisa: Yes. They/them if you would please
Rinko: Sure!
Lisa: Thank you
Lisa smiled. Rinko had been really nice. It had felt so easy to tell her that.
All that was left was to tell Sayo. Lisa wasn't afraid to. They were just a bit nervous. Sayo could be a bit dense, after all.
Might as well get it over with. They just hoped Sayo wasn't busy.
Lisa: Hey, Sayo!
Sayo: What?
Lisa: Are you busy?
Sayo: A little bit
Lisa: Do you have a moment to talk?
Sayo: I suppose. As long as it won't take to long
Lisa: Not at all. I promise
Sayo: Then what's up?
Lisa: I'd like to go by different pronouns
Sayo: And they are?
Lisa: They/them
Sayo: Alright. Is that all?
Lisa: Yep
Sayo: I have to go then
Lisa: See you tomorrow!
Lisa let out another sigh of relief. They had done it. They had told everyone. And everyone had been very quick to accept them. Everything was good.
