MC BIO UPDATE (As of Volume 5):
VERGIL:
Full name Vergil Sparda, he is the Son of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, The Archangel Gabriel, and the human Eva. He is the main protagonist of Legend of the Alpha and the Omega.
An immensely powerful Nephilim who harbors the blood and power of his parents. He was the young man who even the Gods feared. With monstrous strength that is said to eventually surpass that of his father. After the great battle against the two ancient Demon Kings who ruled two respective halves of Inferno, Mundus and Argosax, which ended with his triumph, he disappeared.
Two years later, he resurfaced as Takeru Silver, a young man who has no memories of his past. Upon being saved by Rias Gremory, he became her peerage's only [Pawn] with eight Mutation Pieces, as well as discovered that he is the current possessor of the Boosted Gear, which contains the spirit of one of the Two Heavenly Dragons, The Red Dragon Emperor, Welsh Dragon Y Ddraig Goch.
After his personal triumph against Riser Phoenix to reclaim Rias, he has fully regained his memories and regained his true name. But for some reason, his powers are drastically weakened. It is later revealed that his sword, Yamato, and the lion share of his powers went into the hands of the mysterious demon called Urizen, who is the current Demon King of Inferno.
He is also the direct rival of Vali Lucifer who is the host of the White Dragon Emperor, the Vanishing Dragon, Albion, who is Ddraig's archrival.
I, Appearances.
Initially appeared as Takeru Silver, he was a young man with a tall, well-toned physique, harmonized between muscular and athletic bodies. He has fair, yet pale skin and black short hair. He possesses a pair of blue eyes.
In terms of apparel, he has worn a myriad of clothing. Ranging from jackets, pants, jeans, hoodies, boots and shoes. His most detailed outfit is a white-colored unzipped hoodie over a black T-shirt, brown pants, black boots and brown fingerless gloves, which he worn during the Rating Game against Riser Phoenix. The outfit was partially destroyed by the end of the battle.
After regained his memories, as well as his true name, Vergil retained most of his features as "Takeru", however, his white unzipped hoodie, while repaired, are now dyed in a jet-black color that completely devoid of light, the coat tail splits in two and lengthened. His pants and gloves blackened in accordance to his boots and T-shirt. His hair returned to their true, original silvery-white color. His eyes changed from "Takeru's" blue, to that of his original eyes: Demonic eyes with black irises surrounded his enlarged blood red pupils. These eyes glow in response to Vergil's rage and even at times, dyed his eyes in black, leaving the irises and pupils a distinct blood red color. A multitude of scars and burns covered his chest, arms and back, some shown signs of not being properly treated.
In the past, he is shown to wear a navy-blue long coat with three tails extends over his knees, underneath, he wears a black combat vest with zipped turtle neck, teal pants with light brown boots.
II, Personality.
Initially, as Takeru Silver, he is shown to be a humble and kind individual, who willing to help others in need, exemplifies when he helped his classmates in college or Asia Argento who lost her way during her first time in Japan. He is shown to shy under sexual circumstances, displayed by various time he is with Rias Gremory. Normally collected, he can be quick to become angry if being provoked enough, as seen during the battle against the rogue Fallen Angels, as well as the Rating Game against Riser Phoenix.
As his true self, Vergil displays a colder, more fearsome personality. He is calm, cool, collected, and introverted, constantly maintaining an aura of fearlessness. He is also a bit devoid of emotions, as he was shown to have way more resistance to sexual situations than his weaker, amnesiac self, as well as failing at times to understand the feelings of seeing something or someone lovely or cute. While still somewhat kind and caring, he only limits that to those he truly cares for and respects. He has little to no care for others' biases, as he openly mocks Riser for his cowardness and the old Devils for their obsolete ways of thinking. He is also shown to possess a high sense of responsibility, as he openly received the punishment of both Rias and Sona in place of Koneko and Saji, due to him being the initiator of his plans, as well as apologizing for his mistakes, at least the ones that he knows or founds out that he was at fault. In battle, while remained collected, he became ruthless and relentless. He has no qualms killing or even destroying his enemies, regardless of who or what they are. Although rare, one of his most prominent traits is his wrath, while unlike his amnesiac self, he is hard to provoke, but when he is, he became close to that of a cold-blooded monster, as he goes as far as bludgeon, if not straight up tearing up his enemies to death. His rage is also the reason behind his recent development in strength. Despite these savage traits, he does possess a strong code of honor, as he despises cheap tactics or the usage of firearms, only resorts to overwhelm the enemy with sheer might and skills. This does not however, prevents him from tactically using the enemies' tricks against them, as seen when he made use of his stolen blood against Sona's tactics of using the rules against him.
Vergil also displays a rather complex side of his personality, often condemns himself for not deserving love or happiness. He can also be frustrated, as seen in situations where he had to face his enemies without sufficient power.
III, Biography.
(Just follow the story lines, any necessary updates is for later dates)
IV, Powers and Abilities.
Being a Nephilim who carries the blood of Sparda and the grace of Gabriel, Vergil is endowed with extraordinary powers and abilities that surpassed most Demons, Devils, Angels, and even other Nephilims. His achievements, which has surpassed his father's, are the clear testaments of that. Despite his current weakened state, he remains being very powerful, even considered overwhelming by modern day standards.
- Immense Demonic/Angelic power: By the virtue of being a Nephilim, Vergil possesses tremendous amount and degree of Demonic and Angelic power. It was noted by both Azazel and Michael, that Vergil is indeed the most powerful of all the Nephilim race, due to his heritage. Despite his current weakened state, his magic power supply and output is still high, as of this point, his power in normal state is said to be equal to his rival, Vali Lucifer. In his current complete Balance Breaker state, his powers are augmented to the point that Bikou claimed that he can reach Lower-tier God-class being, which is proven true as stated by Sona and Azazel. Despite being reincarnated by Rias, he did not become a reincarnated Devil, hence remained a Nephilim.
+ Promotion: Being a [Pawn], Vergil can use the promotion to temporarily gain the traits of a [Queen], [Rook], [Knight] or [Bishop]. He rarely uses this after his reawakening.
- Holy / Demonic attributes resistance: As he harbored both angelic and demonic powers, Vergil is immune to the deadly effects of either Holy or Demonic powers, combined or separated. While he still takes basic damage for attacks of those attributes, the damage he takes in is considerably lower than normal.
- Superhuman Strength: Vergil is known to possess inhuman amount of physical strength. As shown when he effortlessly created shockwaves and gouge grounds; throwing and hitting Riser around like a ragdoll, picking up the Perverted Duo with one hand each; having a sword-lock against Kokabiel with no one gaining anymore ground. By the time after his first fight against Vali, he is strong enough to punch a highly durable Minotaur into pieces, as well as shattering bones with finger snaps. When enraged, he can even pull the whole New School Building of Kuoh Academy from its' foundation.
- Superhuman Speed: One of Vergil's greatest feats is his unnatural speed. He's way faster than Riser even before regained his memories, and completely outpaced the latter after his reawakening. In his enraged state, he can easily tear Kokabiel's wings off without the Cadre noticing or reacting, as well as outpacing Vali, who is said to be capable of moving at light speed during Balance Breaker.
- Superhuman agility: Vergil is incredibly agile, capable of leaping long distances, jumping great heights, as well as running on vertical surfaces. In addition, his agility allows him to perform amazing feats of acrobatics that easily surpass even the finest human acrobat.
- Superhuman durability: Vergil is incredibly durable, despite being weakened, capable of taking hits from multiple light spears and still standing. He also tanked Kuroka's spiritual bullet attacks with minimal damage.
- Superhuman stamina: Despite taking a large amount of damage and large amounts of physical strain, Vergil is shown to be able to continue fighting and only needs a few moments of rest to move about again with minimal strain. Initially, his stamina, due to being weakened, was noted by Azazel to not sufficient enough for him to employ Balance Breaker, after his training with Tannin, he obtained enough Stamina to use Balance Breaker up to 3 hours.
- Accelarated healing: Vergil possesses a powerful healing factor that is capable of healing him almost instantly. However, as he is now weakened, his healing speed is reduced significantly, requiring minutes to even hours to fully heal his wounds.
- Flight: By the virtue of being a Nephilim, Vergil can fly naturally using anti-gravity magic field common to all Nephilims. Having reincarnated by Rias, he gained 4 pairs of Devil wings as an alternative flying method. In Balance Breaker, he can fly using the boosters on the back, or just simply channel his aura to defy gravity and take flight.
- Teleportation: Another of Vergil's greatest feats is his advanced teleportation ability, also called by himself as Dark Trick, unlike teleportation magic, is more like a superpower, he can use it at will. This is considered a very advanced feat, even by Nephilim standards, as stated by Ddraig. Once again, as he is weakened, the ability requires more power to use properly, and there's a 15-minute cool down before he can use it again.
- Limited blood manipulation: As shown in the end of the Rating Game against the Sitri Peerage, Vergil can manipulate his blood outside of his body to an extent, as he was able to turn a blood pack into an explosive charge, as well as took over the line that has been sucking and filled with his blood, transforming it into a semi-sentient binding lasso that restrained Sona.
- Master hand-to-hand combatant: Vergil is shown to be highly proficient at hand-to-hand combat, using various martial arts techniques. He easily disarmed Irina within seconds with his bare hands and a little bit of magic, as well as countered all of Saji's attacks with ease.
- Master swordsman: Trained by his father, the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, Vergil is noted to be a prodigious swordsman. As he was able to fight on equal ground against Kokabiel, a war veteran with centuries of experience. Only hindered by his currently weakened physiology.
- Master marksman: Despite Vergil's dislike of firearms, he is still able to fire Blackgrave with immense precision. he was also able to headshot Cattleya Leviathan with a small stone.
- Expert Magician: Vergil is shown to possess great skills and experience with magic as he has shown to be able to use various spells and magic with great proficiency. Among the magic he used includes: Creation magic, Healing magic, Telekinesis magic, etc.
- Expert physicist-level intellect: Vergil has immense intellect, being able to skip 2 years of high school, as well as being among the top 3 candidates who passed the entry exams to Kuoh University. He remained the top student of his class major in Mechatronics, even working as the assistant of the famous professor Tomiya. During his time learning magic, he was able to combine the theories of physics with magic applications with great harmony.
- Expert engineer: Vergil is a highly proficient engineer, able to create a Holy resistance bangle for Asia overnight, as well as handcrafted his formerly personal magnum pistol, Blackgrave.
- High level tactician: Vergil is shown to be a skillful tactician, able to mount a surprise assault onto the Spider Stray Devil; accurately deduced Sona's strategy within a few minutes and use her own tactics to his advantage.
- Multilingual: Vergil can speak multiple language, mostly English and Japanese. During the Familiar hunt, he was shown to be able to read ancient Enochian. When under the high-class lecture during his time with the Gremory family, he was shown to be in-depth with Devil's language, even ancient ones.
V, Equipment.
- Boosted Gear: His current main weapon. One of the 13 Longinus which holds the spirit of the Welsh Dragon, the Red Dragon Emperor, Ddraig, one of the Heavenly Dragons. It is said to have the power to kill a god when fully mastered.
+ Boosted Gear: Scale Mail
- Holy Dragon Slayer Ascalon: A legendary holy sword given to him by his uncle, Archangel Michael, after Ascalon had gone through a number of modifications from the current leaders of the Three Factions it could be wielded by Vergil, who is currently a dragon host. He was also able to store it inside of his Boosted Gear and the blade emerges from the gauntlet when called. It is also stated during the Rating Game match against Sona that Ascalon has been imbued with the dragon aura of Ddraig and Vergil's power, resulting in an enormous boost in power that can match Durandal.
- Blackgrave (formerly): The custom magnum pistol he made as "Takeru Silver", originally one of his personal weapons, it was given to Azazel to be modified for Asia's healing application.
- Unnamed demonic sword: A jet-black demonic sword that Vergil manifested as his primary melee weapon. It is his staple weapon before his acquisition of the Ascalon and the Boosted Gear Scale Mail.
- Holy God Sword Zea: The legendary Holy Sword used by Emperor Kanon Nedra I, the Legendary Holy Hero. Among all the Holy Swords in the world, alongside the Caliburn, this sword reigns at the very top, befitting its' title. It forcefully merged with Vergil by the end of the Familiar hunt, formed the official familiar contract with him. For unknown reasons, he can't manifest it.
- Yamato (formerly): The legendary blade of Darkness once wielded by Sparda who gives it to Vergil, his son, as a memento. This samurai-esque sword's blade is said to cut through anything, even reality itself. The sword disappeared after the great battle against Mundus and Argosax, but Vergil did not have it by the time he resurfaced. By Volume 5, it is revealed that the mysterious demon, codenamed Urizen had stolen the sword along with most of Vergil's powers to became the new Demon King.
Author's note: Yeah, I know, it's more of a wiki page than a simple Bio summary. To make it simple, our boy's appearance here, you can look at him as Tomio Ogata's artwork of DMC5 Vergil, but with Anos Voldigoad's Demonic eyes. Tomio Ogata-san's works with Vergil is, at least in my opinion, the best depiction of young Vergil in JP style, kudos for the man for his other masterpieces as well. See you all in the next two months, maybe a bit more. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a mass update of Volume 6 by that time. Also, a small fix has been made to chapter 13 to prepare for Volume 6. Enjoy.
