Disclaimer - I Don't own Divergent, it's characters and I do not get any money for this fanfiction

It's been a pretty stressful week. But I got through it in the end *fist pump air* I've also spent the morning sewing, so this is going up a little later than I would have liked.

Anyway...

Dinner with the Perdar's, meetings, job prospects and slumber parties... is this really Dauntless?

Tris sat on her bunk bed tying her shoes when Max called out her name, "Tris, may I have a word?"

Finishing off she stood and turned to Max, "Of course, What's up?"

"I know this is normally the time that most new members spend relaxing and partying before they integrate into Dauntless life, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to get a start on your training now? I am rather eager to get you started if you don't mind."

"Depends, What will we be doing today?" Tris questioned as she threw on Four's stolen jacket.

"Mainly meet and greets. Several department heads wanted to get a chance to meet you and get your opinions on those that they have selected to offer jobs to, while others would like your input on worthy promotions." Max replied.

"Sure, why not." Tris shrugged, "Sounds easy enough."

"Please then, follow me." Max said as he held out an arm to link with hers.

Tris linked her arm with his as he led her to the leaders offices, then into a large conference room where several men and women were seated around a large rectangular table in various available chairs. Some of the faces she had seen around the compound, others were new. As they walked towards the back of the room all members stood and went silent.

Tris was seated to Max's right while Eric sat to his left.

"Thank you everyone for coming. You may all be seated." Max said as he took his seat. Everyone else was quick to follow. "I would like to officially introduce Tris," He gestured to his right, "Also now known as Six, she is a leader in training officially effective now."

Everyone in the room took turns greeting her, introducing themselves and what they do in Dauntless. Once all greetings were done Max allowed everyone to discuss with her all manners of things from observational opinions of job offering to the new members, to inner departmental promotions, some even squeezed in hints at projects they wanted her input on in the future.

It was well into mid afternoon when Tris was finally released from the meeting. Feeling exhausted she was about to leave to head back to the dorm when Eric caught up with her.

"Tris, wait up."

"Sorry Eric, but can this wait, I want to grab a quick nap before dinner. I'm exhausted." She sighed. "Who knew just talking to people could be so tiring."

"It'll be quick. Max wanted me to give you this." He handed her a key.

Tris stared at the key, her mind not working enough to figure what the key was for.

"It's to your new apartment." He grinned. "Max is offering you apartment L6." Eric laughed. "I think he's kind of playing on your new nickname a bit."

"How far away is it from here?" She asked, her interest peaked.

"Up three floors." He pointed to a set of stairs that went above the leaders offices.

"I'll take it." Tris exclaimed as she marched towards the stairs. The thought of being in bed sooner rather than later appealed to her. She didn't really want to walk all the way to the dorms on the other side of the compound anyway.

With Eric hot on her heels she made quick work of finding her new apartment and letting herself in. "I'll talk to you later Eric." Tris called over her shoulder as she stepped in and shut the door.

She didn't spend long going through the apartment, barely taking in her surroundings as she quickly made her way to the first bedroom she found and launched herself onto the bed. It didn't take her long to fall asleep where she landed.

A loud knocking woke her up several hours later along with muffled voices. Groaning Tris rolled off the bed and made her way to the door, ripping it open.

"Told you she was here." Grinned Zeke.

"What are you guys doing here?" Tris yawned at them.

"Getting your sorry ass up. My mother has invited you to dinner." Uriah laughed. "By the way, whose apartment are you crashing at?"

"Mine." Tris grunted as she turned to walk back in, hearing a round of splutters from Uriah. Gathering the things she dumped on the table when she first entered she was quick to slip on her jacket and grab the apartment key before kicking both brothers out of her apartment and following them to their mothers place.

"Don't say a word about the apartment." Tris uttered under her breath to the pair just before they entered Uriah and Zeke's mothers place.

The apartment was small but homey, Tris had no idea how so many people were able to fit into such a small place, but they somehow made it work. Tris was quickly introduced to a host of people, but after the day she had already had, few of the names stuck. She made it a mission though, to remember Uriah and Zeke's mothers name; Hana.

During dinner the topic of conversation turned to jobs and what the new members hope to get.

"I'm still hoping to get into the control room like Four." Will said cheerfully, "Alternatively I'd be willing to do anything really as long as I get to stay in the compound."

"Fat ass." Chrisina coughed under her breath.

"Hey!" Will growled at her, "My ass is so not going to get fat!"

"It is if you stay in that control room chair all day every day." She laughed. Will grumbled under his breath as Christina put in her two cents for jobs. "I'm hoping I showed off enough skills to get into the wall patrol guards, cause I sure as hell won't make it in under any other circumstances, my ranking was way too low."

"I think you showed some good talent dear." Hana commented.

Marlene raised her hand like a school kid waving it around, "Me next, me next!" Everyone laughed at her but allowed her to continue. "I want to work in Dauntless Family Services!"

"What's that?" Christina questioned.

"Glorified babysitter." Uriah laughed.

"It is not," Marlene smacked Uriah upside the head before turning back to Chris. "It's someone who cares for the Dauntless born children while their parents work."

"Yeah babysitter." Uriah chastised her again.

"I kind of agree with the fool Mar, it really is just a babysitter." Zeke joined in while rubbing his face awkwardly.

"Ignore them dear. Family Services are always looking for extra hands and I'm sure you will get offered it." Hana encouraged, smiling warmly at her.

Marlene smiled back at her before poking her tongue at the brothers.

Lynn was quick to grunt, "Patrol guard, don't care where." And left it at that.

"Well I want to be a wall guard like my mom!" Uriah fist pumped the air. Everyone in the room fell into laughter.

Hana's voice cut across it, making them all laugh harder. "And be stuck with you for weeks on end, I don't think so!"

When the laughing died down all eyes turned expectantly to Tris. "What do you want to do Six?" Christina asked.

"Oh…. Um…. I kind of already got offered a job." Tris murmured.

"WHAT!?" All new members practically screamed.

Questions were fired at Tris left, right and centre. She could barely understand any of them.

"All right, all right!" Hana stood and called out across the group. "Give the girl some space." When the room was silent again Hana smiled at Tris. "Go ahead dear."

"Well…" Tris started.

"What job did you get?" Marlene cut her off.

Tris was taken aback by the sudden question but at least it gave her something to focus on. "Max offered me to join the future leader program."

The room went into an uproar again making Tris shrink back, till a warm arm wrapped around her shoulder, bringing her in close to a strong chest. Four's scent surrounded her, instantly calming her.

When the room finally quieted down again Tris told them about Max approaching her, some of the decisions she had had to make already, her new apartment and where she was most of the day - leaving out most of today's meeting since she may or may not have recommended all of them for their dream jobs - everyone was surprised but congratulated her on her position.

The night was quickly coming to an end, the girls all found themselves in the kitchen helping clean up while the boy fixed up Hana's apartment, rearranging the furniture back to how it was before they all arrived.

"So, do you have anything you want to share with the group Six?" Christina giggled.

Tris stopped her dish drying to look at Christina questionably.

"Yeah, like how long a certain lover boy and you have been an item." Marlene chimed in.

Turning back to drying dishes Tris tried to keep her cool, blush be damned. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh come on Six, we saw him hugging you during dinner." Lynn scoffed as she put away another dish.

"Well, nothing's official yet." Tris whispered.

"True." Christina touched her chin with a smirk. "There's also Eric to consider."

Tris stuttered at her in disbelief.

"He totally has a thing for you." Marlene giggled. "So who will it be?" She nudged Tris.

Tris' blush deepened.

"Now that I think about it, you're going to have to work real close with Eric now aren't you?" Christina giggled again. "How does lover boy feel about that?"

"How does who feel about what?" A deep voice cut over them.

All the girls turned around, blushes on their face at coming face to face with the guy they were all just gossiping about.

"Nothing." Tris replied with an even tone as she went back to drying dishes.

"Hn….. We're all done out here so when you ladies are good we'll all get out of Hana's hair."

"Hey," Marlene shouted, getting everyone's attention. "We should totally have a slumber party for our last night as free members before we have to start work!"

"Oh that sounds great!" Christina shouted back.

"Cool, whose house are we going to do this at?" Uriah chimed in from the entryway to the kitchen.

"Girls only!" Marlene teased him with her arms crossed. "Unless you're willing to get a facial too?" She grinned evilly.

Uriah's hands went up instantly, "I am soooo not down for that again. Have a great night ladies!" He said as he made a hasty retreat.

"I'm probably going to have to skip. I have work tomorrow." Tris groaned.

"Oh hell no! You are joining us whether you want to or not!" Marlene interjected her with a soap sudded hand. "After this we will grab our stuff from the dorm and head to my parents since all my beauty stuff is still there."

The rest of the night was spent doing all manners of girly things, from hair, to nails and a facial or two. By the next morning Tris had to admit she felt really refreshed, never in her life did she think she would have a girls sleepover and do so many things that would be considered so vain.
