Sonny's POV
I was gonna introduce Marty to my folks today, so once we arrived to my house, I held her hand as we walked up to my front door. "Sonny, wait." Marty said stopping me as I turned to her.
"What is it sweetie?" I asked her.
"I'm…a little afraid to go in there." She said.
I looked at her confused.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Sonny, they probably know who I am…the chick who turned you down all the time." She said.
I kissed her cheek.
"Sweetie, my folks are the nicest people ever." I told her.
"Yeah, but I'm sure they are protective of their little boy." She said.
I gave her a look.
"I ain't that little." I said.
She laughs.
"You'll be fine, I'm right here." I said holding her hand.
I open the door and we walked inside to see Sophie sitting at the dinner table, coloring in her coloring book with my dad sitting next to her while reading the newspaper and my mom was making dinner.
"I'm home!" I announced.
They looked up.
"Hey kiddo." Dad smiled.
"Martie!" Sophie squealed as she ran to me.
"Hey ya little monster." I said picking her up. "Folks, Sophie, this is Marty Maraschino." I introduced.
"Hello Marty, it's really nice to meet you." Mom said giving her a hug.
"You too, Mrs. LaTierri." Marty smiled.
"You're pretty." Sophie said.
"Thank you." Marty smiled.
"Finally decided to give my boy a chance?" My dad asked.
"Dad." I scolded.
"I'm kidding son," My dad smiled. "It's very nice to meet you Marty."
"It's nice to meet you guys as well, Mr. LaTierri." Marty spoke.
"I'm Sophie!" Sophie smiled.
"You're a cutie." Marty said.
"I know." Sophie beamed.
We chuckled at her.
"Now I know where your brother gets it from." Marty smirked.
"Hey." I protested.
They chuckled.
"Will you be joining us for dinner?" Dad asked.
"Oh, I don't wanna impose on you guys." Marty tells them.
"We don't mind." I told her.
"You are more than welcome to join us." Mom smiled.
"Thanks." Marty said.
"C'mon Marty, let's go color." Sophie said as I put her down and she dragged Marty to the table.
I walked over to them and let Sophie sit on my lap while she colors.
"See," I said looking at Marty. "Told ya they'll like ya." Marty smiled.
"We love her!" Sophie smiled.
I kissed her head.
"I'm glad." I said.
"Are you gonna marry her?" She asks.
Marty looks up at me from her paper.
"Sophia." I said with a chuckled. "Soon baby."
I gave Marty a smile as she smiled back.
"Yay!" Sophie cheered.
We laughed at the cuteness in her.
"Really? You would marry me?" Marty asks.
"Of course." I winked.
She giggled.
"What did you draw Marty?" Sophie asks.
"I drew you a cherry." Marty told her.
"Cool!" Sophie smiled. "Thanks!"
We smiled as we watched Sophie color another picture, I am so glad I got my girl!
