A/N: Hey so, after thinking about all the seriousness that's been happening the last several chapters, I feel that we could use a small chapter break and focus on non-canon fluff. This chapter may even stay here in this chapter placement or at all even, but it's just so we can have light hearted enjoyment.
Robin was sleeping peacefully, lightly snoring all the while when he woke up from a knocking on his door.
"Come in." He yawned. Starfire came in, looking distressed. "Star? What is it?"
"I have had the mare of the night." The Tamaranean princess replied.
"Oh. Was it really bad?"
"Yes. Please, could I sleep with you, or you sleep with me?"
"Of course Star. I'd do anything for you. Let's head to your room." Smiling, she was followed by Robin into her room, where they pulled the blanket over themselves. Considering her height advantage, the alien girl hugged Robin from the back, hugging his back to her closely and rubbed her face against his hair.
"Goodnight Robin. I love you."
"I love you too Star." The two love birds then fell to sleep within the soft and comfortable embrace of Starfire's pillow.
Beast Boy and Raven were sitting on the couch together. Or rather, she was sitting on the couch reading her book while Beast Boy was curled up on her lap as a cat, purring. Occasionally she'd give him a scratch. At one point, the green teen broke the silence.
"Raven, why do you wear a leotard?" The question totally threw her off track.
"What?"
"Why do you wear a leotard? I was remembering back to that PSA we did about your time as Gold-Girl, and how you believed she was exposing your body too much. And yet, aside from a cloak and sleeves, you don't leave much room for the imagination. Especially dem legs of yours." He purred on that last sentence. "So what's that about mama?" Given the reasoning, it did seem odd that for as conservative as she was, so long as her cloak was open anybody in front of her could see her well defined, attractive legs. Sure, they'd suffer severe consequences for it but it's not like she's preventing the chance. Then she'd remembered.
"It's an Azarath culture tradition. Since our society has been raised as a realm without vice and inner darkness, there were no personal feelings of sexist attraction and lust from visual appearance alone. So we dressed however we saw fit. And for some reason even I don't know I dislike the feeling of pant legs or stockings. I just assume my legs are more sensitive to passive touch than everything else."
"Interesting." Reverting back to human, where he lied on his back and his head rested in her lap, the green teen started rubbing his scalp hair against her legs, causing the half-demon girl to try and hold in laughter. "Come on Rae Rae. I want to hear my little birdy sing.
"Bwahaha-get off me Beast Boy! This isn't funny!" She laughed, unable to hold it in. Then again, since she could laugh without destroying anything now, why contain it? "Come on, more! Tickle me more!"
"Really? Okay mama, you asked for it!" Pouncing on his girlfriend, he gave her a real good tickling where the female titan was laughing her guts out and tears streamed down her eyes. "You like that? You like that?!"
"Yes, I love it! Laughing feels so good!" After about a minute she begged him to stop, and he obliged. The two were in an embrace as they kissed and laughed softly as they just let the moment sink in. It was moments like these that really made life worth living.
"Whoo! I win again! Suck on that Cy!" Jinx laughed while the cybernetic titan and metahuman witch played a go cart game where she won. Again. For the fourth time in the row.
"Man, how are you so good?!" Cyborg inquired in shock.
"Reading and snarking weren't the only things I did in my free time. Gizmo creates the best games."
"Well it certainly paid off." He laughed. Although, once he started calming down, he noticed Jinx now looked bummed out. "Something up?" He asked, which got the girl out of her thoughts.
"Oh, it's nothing Cy. Nothing that should concern you."
"I has to do with the Hive, right?" He guessed, and she bit her lower lip, her friend having hit the head on the nail.
"Ugh, since you won't stop bugging me about it, I just miss my two bad guys. Gizmo may be childish, and granted he is a child, he was always someone I talked to whenever I needed someone to talk intelligently to about stuff. Mammoth may not be all that smart and smells, but we played some good pranks against the other operatives. And he always appreciated my cooking, regardless of quality. Is it wrong to feel homesick about a place that's bad?" This was clearly a touchy issue for Jinx, and Cyborg sure as heck didn't want to mess up his response by being biased due to morality.
"Well, not from that point of view. The environment might be bad but that doesn't mean all of it is bad." That seemed like the safest answer he could come up with. It worked given that she nodded. The female titan then leaned onto Cyborg.
"What was your life like? In Detroit?" Oh. Now she's curious. Well, it's not like anything was strictly off limits.
"It was fine. I was a real good football player. Grades were okay. I loved my parents but sometimes they were too busy. But from the way it looked, I was on my way onto becoming quarterback of the Lions. But then..."
"Yeah. Your accident."
"My life seemed to be over. Until I met my friends here. And you know what?"
"What?" She replied.
"It became even better when you joined us." Jinx chuckled at his cheesy line. But, it was a good kind of cheesy. The kind she felt flattered by.
"Flatterer." The girl retorted, but he could tell it was in good fun. Wrapping an arm around her, the two just sat there peacefully, taking in the quiet except for the ambient game noise.
A/N: Well, I hoped you liked this bit of fluff. It felt nice just writing something romantic for once. What did you guys think?
