Chapter 41: Day in our Lives
[Neo Bayview]
The Shadows home was all the livelier given things were quiet. While Ryker was some reversations against the decision, he opted for it. Thus, Garnet and Pearl returned with Rai and Jewel…from a time chamber. The now three-year-olds happily greeted their father who in turn hugged him.
"He looking like his old man and he's got his mother's eyes." Amethyst said ruffing the small mop of Rai's hair.
Tsubasa took up his daughter. Jewel had a gradient of her parent's hair and eyes.
"Papa, can I play with cousin Deandra again soon?" Rai asked innocently.
Ryker looked to Garnet who explained she had to share the chamber with Delia Dominator herself and her daughter. Of course, LD had made sure she was not aging with the right power-ups and such.
"Joshinari's going to not exactly like this…or not. Not like he'd want his kid to be like him…" Ryker mused thinking of his cousins.
His cousins had a pretty lousy childhood, and Ryker kicked himself for never being close to them. Maybe Deandra and Rai could do better than them.
"Sure, I'll call Uncle Joshinari to arrange a date for you to meet up." Ryker said sweetly.
Rai smiled floating up on the air to take a few cookies on the table. It did not surprise anyone that he could easily pick up flight. Garnet stated she was going to go on a bit of a vacation herself, even planning to go the same place, EVA-181818-Sigma.
"Pearl and I could use some time off from this and carrying this in my body." Garnet said as her body ejected the three Metsu Emeralds. "Those things give a warper the shakes and a ton of residual energy. Considering I was holding them for about three years in the chamber. I had to also keep them safe in case Delia tried something."
Garnet ruffed his son's hair telling him to be good for his father and grandparents while she goes on her trip.
"Saki and his family already at the EVA Resort for the honeymoon. Maylene's been putting up a few photos of her at the Tokyo-2 Slam Center." Ryker said kissing Garnet goodbye. "How long are you both going to be?"
"About a week." Garnet said. "I already got my bags packed. Did you deal with get that stray green Metsu Sol Emerald?"
Butters revealed it with a smirk which assured Garnet.
"I managed to sneak on the planet and find it. A bit difficult, but not impossible. A villager had found it and had no idea of its real value, so I paid him a lot of bells to pay to start his church. Apparently, Gendo never got around to granting him the loan to build. Now the Integra church has a church there and Gendo is none the wiser…for now." Butters said. "But what do you want to do with it?"
"Get it to Desmond." Ryker said firmly. "If his squad has all seven…he can at least keep them safe. And it's good distance away from the regular ones."
"Pink has a file on her findings on the universe that she followed the Red Phoenix Pirates." Pearl remarked. "It's on the Jade Company's private server."
"And I'm being informed of this, now?" Ryker asked.
"You were a bit distracted." Amethyst mused. "Training to better your ki control, remember?"
"Yeah, right." Ryker mused sheepishly. "I'll go check that out."
"You be good for your father, ok Jewel?" Pearl said hugging her daughter.
"Yes, mother." Jewel said as Pearl followed Garnet out of the door. "Bye!"
As the two members of Jade Company for a long deserved vacation, Tsubasa left for home with Jewel. Amethyst left for her van leaving Ryker's family alone.
"Papa, can you show me some moves?" Rai said.
Ryker used the Shadow Clone Jutsu to produce a clone to take his son out to show him some martial arts out on the beach.
"I'll go help." Ruby said following. "I want to teach my grandson some moves."

"Sapphire, Jasper. Could you join them out there?" Ryker asked before leaving for staircase down to where the Blackfrost lay.
Within the ship, he activated the security system to secure lock the ship ensuring no prying eyes. He sat at his command chair and got to the computer to open. A DNA scan, a warper energy scan, and a password were done before accessing the secret server. His BlackTab connected to the computer as he began reading through Rose's notes and the gathered data.
"Universe identified as My Hero Academia Universe V-2406, universe is a patchwork with elements from the Pokémon Universe."
"Interesting." Ryker said. "Warper population is growing. Lisa, show me the top 10 most wanted warpers on planet, exclude any known Red Phoenix Pirate."
His trusty A.I. got to work and complied a list.

"Aiko?" Ryker said pulling up her profile. "So, this is where you ended up…and it seems your off-world trips have revealed some ties. No idea, you were dealing with PMCs while shirking your responiblites to the team."
He briefly looked through the list of added crimes to Aiko's rap sheet. A lot of dealing and working as an adviser for various groups between her teaching jobs. He moved on to read on the universe itself…it had plenty going on for it. Ryker mused that it could earn Protected status in the far future. However, he remembered something and called up his cousin up.
"Katsumi. It's been a while, how's Dymmi?" Ryker asked.
"She's ok, but she won't admit she's scared. She's been having a few nightmares…at least she's stable even if they have to resort to using cannabis to relax her nerves." Katsumi said.
"You mentioned me and the others in family that you needed a quirk from Overhaul. Well, I'm about to stage a takeover of a My Hero Academia universe. I have my people staking the verse out." Ryker said getting Katsumi's interest.
"What's the universe number?" She asked.
"V-2406." He stated as she was looking it up.
"Fairly decent growing warper population. Not enough to qualify for Protected status on it's own unless someone steps up to claim it. You want to do this?" Katsumi mused. "I'll pass this onto the other Elites, if they approve and you can pay for it then it's yours. But why do you want to buy it?'
"Overhaul. If I recall, you need his quirk. And my database says that the one of that universe still lives. And there are two warpers there you can convince to get you to help you. Drake Arashi and Jericho Belladonna." Ryker said as Katsumi was surprised.
"They're in that universe?! But the paper…of course, it was tampered with." Katsumi said as Ryker inquired about it. "Not your problem, just something for internal affairs."
"Offer those two and their allies frozen bounty status in exchange for their help. The protected status is only going to sweeten the deal." Ryker said slyly. "Plus, I want to get this universe before anyone else."
Ryker had planned to send over warpers to set up shop there to start up or expand on some businesses. He had a few people in mind and a few business ideas. He did not want to step on Kyu's toes, and he knew he had to be careful.
"I'll have Gilda get back to you, then. Goodbye, cousin." Katsumi said before hanging up.
He decided to call up someone for intel. He had reconnected with the Rei he used to hang around with, and had hired her as a spy for Jade Company. She had accepted the offer as the pay was ensuring she could live her sexually liberated lifestyle.
"Report." Ryker said calmly.
"Rendo Nexus is quite active in building assets. I get a few of their guys and girls come to the resort to relax. A happy ending and a bit of boose makes it easy to read minds. Seems, RN has been investing in raiding Eva universes for Shikinami and Ayanami clones. There have been a few sets of Mari clones and clones of other pilots save for Shinji too. Some are being used as spies, and others as cheap labor. Doesn't help that the cloning tech is something they're replicating…and using on the women they capture from the other universes they raid." Rei mused.
"Of course, sex sells. And they could make a serious boon using other slavers to sell potential slaves. Slavers would come to RN to buy to sell all over the multiverse. But I don't think RN could make those slaves spies." Ryker said thoughtfully.
"They would get in serious trouble if they did. Kotetsu has proven to be rather smart in not thinking he's above warper law." Rei said.
"And that what makes him dangerous." Ryker said opening the mini-frigde for a drink.
"I can say that the resort staff does have a spy for RN in it ranks, and they don't know. Maria Vincennes, she works housekeeping and I'm sure she's using her job as a cover to steal information. Plus, she's been trying to smooze the upper staff and me. I think it's because of my universe of origin. I had to buy an apartment in Tokyo-3 because I didn't even want the bitch having access to my hotel room. She knows I used to work for you, and I think she's susicpious of me."
"She doesn't know of your apartment, right?" He asked.
"No. No one knows, but there's the matter of your friends and allies vacationing here. She's been acting them." Rei said as Ryker dropped the bottle of juice he was about to open.
"Shit! My wife and Pearl are going there for a vacation. Rei, I need you to do something. Get Desmond alone and relay this finding to him." Ryker mused. "Olivia, out."
Rei hung up as he called up Butters.
"Butters, I need you for an emergency. That green Metsu Sol Emerald? I need it to get to Desmond's mitts since yesterday. I'm not taking any chances. Desmond needs to have most of the Sol set. The sooner the better." Ryker said seriously.
"All right, who do you want to deliver the package?" Butter said as Ryker thought about it.
"I can't do it myself. I'm on babysitting duty, please if I leave…no doubt people will see it as suspicious. I need a gro-" Ryker said before pausing. "Butters, be out with my son. I'll be with you in a moment."
He hung up before using the BlackTab to call Maylene through her Omnitrix.
"Ryker, you can tap Trix lines?" Maylene said.
"Didn't tap it. Your father gave me access to the Trix line to call through the BlackTab in case of an emergency." Ryker said taking up his drink. "Are you alone…because I got information for you? The not good kind."
"I'm alone." Maylene said turning serious. "What do you need?"
"I have orders. I need to deliver your Metsu Sol Emerald to Desmond. Right now, it's not a good idea to have any of the Sol Emeralds in Zen Kuro. The less here the better. There's also an issue with Rendo Nexus, there's a spy among the resort staff. Maria Vincennes. I got a girl on the inside gathering information, Rei…she works massages, specializes in happy endings. She's going to be trying to get to Desmond, and I need you to not other ensure Maria doesn't try to kill everyone. Tell your parents and have them call Garnet ASAP." Ryker rattled off clearly worried.
"Just when I thought I could have a fucking vacation. You sure I can't just get rid of the bitch." Maylene mused.
"Unless you can make it look like an accident or get her arrested. I can't even land a tip to the Order without putting Rei at risk. Ugh, for now, focus on getting the information out to the right people." Ryker said flustered. "Good luck."
Maylene hung up as Ryker finished up a bit more on the computer before logging off the computer.
[Music Ended]
The ship unlocked for him to exit as he went back up to the house to change to Gamma Blacklight Shirt unzipped slightly to expose a bit of a purple mesh undershirt, a pair of dark grey khakis with the legs tucked into the boots for his gi, his usual weighted armbands, and made sure his wedding band was on. With his gear in tow, he went out the door to smile to see his clone playing with his son.
He walked down before making the clone dispel, getting the good memories.
"Papa, is something wrong?" Rai asked.
"You're a good kid…and yes, but it's nothing you need to worry about." He said before turning to Jasper. "Call up Anya, I wish for limo service."
Jasper nodded. In a few minutes, Anya Borzakovskaya had arrived with her stretch limo. She had taken to driving a limo to cart people around to make a bit of extra cash. She was glad Ryker was a big tipper. Riding with her in front was her little brother, Sasha, home with her for the summer.
"Take us Downtown to the Core." Ryker said giving her a sizeable tip. "Have the privacy seals up."
"Yes, Mr. Blackthorn." She said as her passengers got in.
[Cues: Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars – Chan Jaoming Theme]
Once inside and with the seals up, he explained everything and wanted options.
"Wasn't there another tenth rank warper? The one who married the chick from that series about notebooks?" Jasper asked.
"Alex. I've been keeping contact, he's pretty much under everyone's radar. Last I talked, he got clan status." Ryker said thinking of him. "I'd give him a call about this job, but…I really need assurance this delivery can happen. Add to the fact that while his son, Nathan, is a bit better…he's still a loose cannon."
"Yeah…maybe not a good idea." Ruby said in agreement. "But you could request one of Alex's assoicates to aid."
"I'll consider it. Any other options?" Ryker asked.
"Kaze. We send his family on a vacation to Sigma with Butters." Sapphire suggested.
"That's an idea, plus Kaze has a Metsu Blade. He's skilled enough to protect him." Ryker mused. "Any opposition?"
Noes all around.
"Ok, then I'll make the call." Ryker said.
"Papa, could I have a few chocolates from the bowl there?" Rai said pointing to it.
"Just one, don't spoil your appetite. We're getting lunch." Ryker said giving him a decent sized chocolate bar.
Rai munched on it as Ryker called up Kaze.
"Kaze, I got a job for you…and you'll get a free vacation out of it." Ryker said jovially. "Because Carol and K.O. are going with you."
"I'm listening." Kaze mused.
Ryker explained what he needed him to do.
"I'm surprised you didn't ask Kenji to do it." Kaze mused.
"I'll need him for another task. Can you do what I'm asking of you?" He asked him.
"Yeah, I'll deliver Butters and the precious cargo. I assume Butters has the means to return to Zen Kuro." Kaze stated.
Ryker looked to Butters who nodded.
"He does." Ryker said firmly. "You'll pick him up in the evening. All right, it's selected. I'll have the reservation arranged and half your pay with him when you get him. You'll get the other half when you return from vacation."
Kaze hung up as Ryker clicked the button to roll down the small barrier between limo riders and the driver.
"Anya, ETA?" Ryker asked.
"We're in City Point, Mr. Blackthorn." Anya said curtly.
"Ok, stop at the Chinese place up ahead." Ryker said as Ruby was already calling the place up.
"Ryker, if it's all right, could I have Priyanka come with me? I'd feel a bit safer with her going with me." Butters humbly asked.
"That's fine. Call her up and ask where she is." Ryker said before turning to his son. "Rai, what are you in the mood to eat for lunch?"
"I don't know…I want to try something with plenty of meat. Mama says I need vegetables to grow though." Rai said.
"Don't worry, you'll get both of those." Ryker said before telling Ruby the order for himself and Rai.
Everyone else placed orders, and he let Anya and Sasha order before they arrived. Anya was handed the cash to go in to pick it up.
"Priyanka's not too far. She'll meet us here…right about now." Butters said as Jasper opened the door for Priyanka to come with a bag from a buger place.
"I want to try let me stay for a vacation, but I realized we're low on staff as it. Plus, I need to train another medic." Priyanka said. "Who's the ki-wait, is that your son? How?"
"Time chamber." Ryker said flatly.
She accepted and Anya was back with their food. Anya was tasked to drive back to Neo Bayview.
[Cues: slipfunc – amid the flowers]
Ryker was mostly silent on the ride back just spending time eating and listening to his son. He was over the moon to see that Deandra and him got along. He was just surprised Delia was ok with letting them get along. Butters and Priyanka were chatting over various things. By the time everyone was done eating and were back in Neo Bayview, Kaze and his family were waiting. Anya was sent off with a tip from Jasper.

"Thanks for trusting me with this." Kaze said shaking Ryker's hand.
"Tenthers got to stick together." Ryker said. "You going by ship?"
"Portal gun's connected to my ship. I'm not going alone…" Kaze said as Whilhamena revealed herself.
She was in her hero costume looking all giddy as she hanged on Kaze's arm much to Carol's eye rolling. Benard, Enid, and Red Action were also there.
"So, you do know you're paying for your stay, right?" Ryker said annoyed.
"It's fine, I upgraded the package to one of the villas. I can't wait for a faraway getaway. It'll be fun and we can all spend time together." Whilamena said with a wink.
Poor Carol and Kaze blushed as Enid who caught that, balked.
"Oh my god, Kaze, you're not banging my mom and dad, are you?" Enid said.
Ryker promptly covered his son's ears and took him inside.
"No…maybe..ok, just your mother." Kaze said blushing harder.
"And you're ok with this?" Enid said looking at Carol.
"I…may like to watch them do it sometimes." Carol admitted.
"It's really only weird if you make it weird." Benard said. "That's why we left your siblings with your aunt, Enid."
"And K.O. is staying with Steven and Connie…he was all for staying and training with them." Carol admitted.
"So, you're going to fucking for most of your vacation? Right on?" Red Action said with a thumbs up.
Enid groaned before making a note to get her own room for herself and Red.
"Alright, perverts. How soon to do we leave?" Priyanka said clearing her throat.
With Kaze telling them that they were ready to leave, the two got what they needed before boarding the ship.
"Good luck." Sapphire said as the ship doors closed.
As the Turbinado took off for space, the rest of Jade Company returned home. Ryker would be looking after his sleeping son on the couch as he was on his laptop and BlackTab arranging plans and deals.
(A/N: That vacation universe is going to have some guests coming in and a spy is going to make things go on edge. On the other side of things, set up for other series along with some reveals and lore for our enemies and for Our Anti-Hero Academia. Next chapter is going to focus on other characters, namely the other members still on the planet.)
