"You want me to keep..." Jo mimicked scribbling on her new well-being journal, questioning eyes fixed on Professor McGongagall's expression.

"Yes," the woman confirmed crisply. "It has been charmed with an Anti-Theft Charm and so that everything except your sleep diary is visible to you.

"Oh," Jo blinked, looking down at the beautiful leather bound journal next to the tin of ginger newts on Professor McGonagall's desk.

She didn't know what she was feeling.

Tired, yes. The witch had made time to visit her every day for the past week, not hinting anything when during Transfiguration lessons. They would talk about her feelings, how she was doing, anything that triggered her and sometimes Jo would be invited to hear some of hers.

Jo didn't like the weary look in her eyes and she always tried her best to be mindful. She didn't think she could ever imagine what it was to participate and survive two wars.

Jo was somewhat confused too. Neville and Hermione had figured out it was her grandparents' first death anniversary next week. How, she doubted she would ever know.

But, now as she picked the leather bound journal from her Head of House's desk, she realised what it was that she felt with her.

Safe.

She felt safe with Professor McGonagall.

A intense emotion swelled in her chest at the realisation, and it travelled to her throat and made tears build in her eyes.

Jo swallowed and it refused to go away.

She had helped her to start healing again. It might've been a slow start, a different start to her first start when she realised she reincarnated, but it was a start.

Even if it wasn't a perfect one.

"Thank you," Jo croaked after a moment. "Thank you so very much."

And as she watched Professor McGonagall show a rare smile, she couldn't help wonder why her peers couldn't see how much she cared.

At that, Jo slouched slightly.

"Miss Bevan?"

"...I was looking forward to Introductory Wizarding Culture class," she confessed despondently. "Hermione made notes for me but... I wanted to be there."

"There is a repeat on Monday after school," Professor McGonagall replied, subtly amused when Jo perked up.

There was the young witch she had seen in Ollivander's.
