Chapter 41

Forgiveness (Part 4) - Sandy

Rating for this chapter: k

Jack flue through the streets of burgess, the night becoming calm as the homes of the people were put to sleep by dreamsand. Jack followed the trail of dreams to Sandy's cloud… but he wasn't there.

"That's weird." Jack flew higher into the sky. He soon saw a house on a cloud. All of it was made of sand. Jack landed and went inside.

Jack had noticed in the past couple of weeks that Sandy had been acting weird. He was very conservative and didn't take as much part in the conversations. Jack was getting worried about the dream spirit.

So tonight he was going to see what was wrong.

Jack walked through the small living room, and into the dining room, which led into the kitchen. Where he found sandy, staring up at the moon. Jack coughed to let his presence known. Sandy jumped slightly and then sighed. He turned and gave Jack a sad smile.

"Hey, sandy you doing okay?"

Sandy nodded.

"Then what's bothering you?"

Sandy stared at Jack for a moment.

He knew the boy would notice his silent suffering. He had with all the others. And now it was his turn.

Sandy looked back up at the moon.

Jack chuckled with a sigh.

"So you too huh."

Sandy slummed.

"You know, I kinda thought that you wouldn't blame yourself as much as the others." Jack put a hand on Sandy's shoulder. "But I guess you feel the worst don't you."

Sandy didn't make a move. Or did he look back up at the moon?

"Sandy," Jack started. "You need to let the past go! All of the others had a reason to feel guilty. But you were actually there for me sometimes not that you knew about it but… you were the first spirit to… well not try and hurt me… and i am so grateful for that. You were there every night. Spreading dreams and rest for all of the children, including me. So how about you stop your mopping and talk to me."

Sandy looked at Jack with wide eyes. He never knew about this. He stared at Jack for a good minute… he then placed his tiny hands on Jack's face, then smiled, he hugged him tight, Jack then heard a tiny voice. "Thank you."

Jack's eyes widened then softened. He hugged Sandy back.

"How about I help you tonight." Sandy nodded enthusiastically.
