Detective Conan AU Curacao

"Out of my way." Yukiko Kudo, in her hastily thrown on Fumiyo Edogawa disguise, growled darkly as she sped walked through the hospital and her husband was right behind her with their surprise for their son in his arms. The furious and worried parents didn't even care about anyone else in the way, they shoved aside Mouri, Korn, and Heizo Hattori from the Osaka Police department without care.

"Mom!" Conan went wide eyed when he saw his mom burst into the room and he knew his dad was right behind her.

"Oh my sweet baby." Yukiko didn't care who else was in the room as she immediately moved to her sons side and started smoothing down his hair, kissing his head and taking his good hand in her own.

She didn't pay any attention or care about how Rena and Kiriena were tense and protectively hovering around KID and her son or how Gado was probably holding a gun in his unseen hand as he glared death at her. She'd worry about them and whatever misconceptions they had of her later. For now there was nothing more important than her son.

"I see you had a hell of an adventure huh baby?" Yukiko asked in a murmur as she pulled her son into her side and held him close.

"Mom…they…couldn't save my arm. Professor and Haibara said that they could make me a new one but…" Conan trailed off as his dad entered the room and there was a happy woof from the surprise in his arms.

"I know sweetheart I know. I'm sorry we weren't here baby, we were trying to finish getting your surprise ready." Yukiko said softly and then nodded to her husband who set the dog down and then they both watched as the dog went right to Conan's side and jumped up to lick his face.

"Jake!" Conan recognized the dog immediately even though he was wearing a support dog vest now as he wagged his tail while Conan's good hand started to pet the dog and scratch him behind his ears.

"We figured you might need a support dog, emotionally at least, after everything recently so we had him trained and signed off on him being yours." Yuusaku said gently and he smiled softly at seeing how happy his son to pet and play with the dog. They also had a younger puppy being trained, one of Jake's puppies no less, because they knew the old dog wouldn't last for very long but…well their son seemed to love him already.

"He might not have needed a support animal if his parents were there to support him." Kiriena said darkly although she stayed right beside Conan and had one hand reached over to rest on KID's arm protectively.

"We would be there to support him if we didn't have to stay away to keep him safe. You think we want to leave him here in Japan with Mouri-san while we're running around trying not to be caught?" Yukiko snapped at them with a furious glare, how dare this woman suggest that Yukiko was a negligent and non-supportive mother.

"Criminals?" Gado asked making Yuusaku snort and shake his head.

"Us or the ones chasing us? Cause it's not us but the ones chasing us all the time are rather cut throat." Yuusaku said and honestly he meant his editors but given the circumstances…well they didn't have to know that did they?

"Kaito-kun I saw your mother the other day while we were hiding out in America. Gave her a slap upside the head for not coming back to visit you in so long." Yukiko said and KID blinked a few times as he stared at her.

"You know who me and my mother are?" KID asked and he was a bit tense at that.

"Of course I did. I studied under your father for a while alongside Sharon. Your mother might scare me sometimes but honestly she deserved a good whack for not visiting you in a while and only video calling you every once in a while." Yukiko said and KID's eyes were wide as he gaped at her.

"You knew my father…and you smacked my mother for not being here for me?" KID asked and his voice was so tiny sounding that it hurt everyone's hearts, Rena immediately pulling KID into a hug and rubbing his back a bit like she would Conan while Gado had a hand on KIDs shoulder in support.

"Of course. I'm your godmother remember? The only reason I didn't take you in myself is because we were always running around and you needed that one area all your own to grow up…that and since that girlfriend of yours was right next door I don't think you would have wanted to leave." Yukiko said teasing a bit and KID's face went bright red now.

"She's not my girlfriend!" He denied immediately and Yukiko cooed while Conan snorted slightly.

"Still in denial then? Aww to be so young, remember those days dear?" Yukiko asked making Yuusaku snort heavily at that.

"I remember that we met at a party and as soon as I walked in you yelled 'dibs' so loud that they heard you from outside. In denial nothing, you walked right up to me and said we were going to get married eventually." Yuusaku said and Yukiko raised an eyebrow at him.

"I never said which one of us was in denial. And honestly at least you were rather smart. Once you realized that Chikage and Sharon were acting as wingmen for me you just gave up and asked me on a date." Yukiko said making Yuusaku sweatdrop slightly.

"Sharon-san scares me and Chikage-san scares me even more. Sharon-san threatened to poison me without me ever seeing it coming if I did anything to ever hurt you and the less said about what Chikage-san did once we were all separated in that horror house…" Yuusaku trailed off and gave a violent shudder at that, his skin paling rapidly as he recalled what she had done.

"They can be protective…and Chikage's sense of humor… Kaito-kun take my advice. Don't ever go to a horror house with your mother. She will terrify the actors and make someone shit their pants." Yukiko said and KID snorted loudly at that.

"Way to ruin his 'secret identity' mom." Conan said dryly but he was grinning slightly while KID swept his top hat and outfit off to show the teenager beneath.

"Oh please I'm sure most people in this room already knew it. I know Sharon probably already threatened to castrate the silver haired one at least with a rusty spork if he hurt Kaito-kun. The less about how she threatened your bodyguard and, what is it now sweetie the third or fourth mother figure?" Yukiko asked making Conan pause and think about it for a second.

"Let's see…there's you…kaa-san…she's haha so she's third and then Mizunashi-san is Mutti so she's fourth. Haha's the third one then." Conan said thinking about it for a second and making Yukiko nod and kiss his head.

"Thank you baby. The less said about how she threatened your third mother figure the better probably." Yukiko said and Conan gave her a flat look.

"Kaa-san disguised as a nurse and walked into her hospital room and held a gun to her head while she was hugging me." Conan said and Kiriena winced slightly at recalling that.

"Just be glad your aunt Chikage wasn't there too. Remember what happened when you got kidnapped and she got there first?" Yukiko asked making Conan snicker a bit.

"It sounded like a horror movie out there and then she showed up dressed up like a mummy but smiling like Kaito-nii-san when he pulls off a prank and carried me out while the entire place looked pristine and the kidnappers were all unconscious without a single drop of blood on them or her." Conan said making Kaito snort slightly.

"Yeah that sounds like mom…when were you kidnapped though little detective?" Kaito asked and everyone was staring at Conan for the answer.

"Let's see…that time was about five years ago I think." Conan said trying to think about it while his parents nodded in agreement. Rena and Gado exchanged looks. Conan had been kidnapped when he was one and still remembered it so well?

"That time? Conan how many times have you been kidnapped?" Kiriena asked staring at her boy who had to pause and think about it for a long minute.

"I…lost count honestly."
