Skye's week had been great. After the visit to her mother's grave, they had stayed there for a while, Skye secretly loved and hated it, she hated that she would never meet her, and loved that she knew that she had been loved by the women, and was with her Tony and Pepper; she still was not ready to call them anything else.
She loved the house in Malibu. Tony and she talked a lot about computers and how to make SI firewalls better, even the security at the Tower and the house they were in, were looked at. Pepper even dragged Skye away from the keyboard one day, to spend some time together.
Now Skye was on her way back to the Triskelion, and the next day she would be back on the Bus. She was both excited and sad. She was excited to get back to doing something and see the team, but she was still nervous about being around Ward again, they had only seen each other one time since he was suspended for being too rough with her. She was sad though that she wouldn't be able to see Sharon or Maria that often. Currently, she saw Maria every day, and Sharon she saw when she was at the base, which was often.
Tony, Pepper, and Skye had gone back to DC the day before and had a big brunch, before Happy drove Skye back to the corner where he had picked her up, so she could walk the rest of the way.
When she arrived, she went through security, which took way too long for her taste, but once she was through, she hurried to the Den. She knew Sharon was there waiting and Maria was in a meeting, for a few hours still.
She was barely through the door before she was pulled by Sharon into a hug and pulled over to one of the couches.
"I have missed you," Sharon said, almost laying on top of Skye and nuzzling her nose against Skye's neck.
"I missed you too, but as much as I love cuddling, you are getting heavy," Skye said, she got a playful growl in response, but Sharon moved to sit beside her, really close beside her.
"How was it spending time with Tony and Pepper?" Sharon asked.
"It was good, we went to Malibu, and visited Jiaying's grave, as you know, I got a chance to look at SI cybersecurity, and we just hung out, it was nice," Skye said.
"I'm glad to hear that," Sharon said, and then leaned on Skye again.
"Do you want to cuddle?" Skye asked amused.
"Yes, I do," Sharon answered.
"Okay then" Skye said laying down, with a grinning Sharon following not far behind.
Skye did not know who shifted first, but it did not take long until both her and Sharon were in their wolf form. She could not complain though, not with Sharon so close, like half on top of her, and with Sharon's nose so close to her neck, they soon fell asleep.
Maria was grumpy, very grumpy. Fury and Peggy wanted to start adding new wolves, well one as to line out the packs, but that wasn't why she was grumpy. She wanted her own pack to get more wolves, they only were three, where Victoria's had seven in all, and Natasha had five now, that way they would be four. After the arguing about the same concerns that were had with Skye, about being the only one to be going through it at that time, no it was who, Fury and Peggy wanted Steve Rogers, Captain Fucking America. Peggy was especially persistent about her choice, not as much as with Skye, but still firm about it. Maria couldn't understand why, she even raised the concern that he already was enhanced, but it didn't help. They wanted to start tomorrow morning.
When she walked through the door to their private area, almost all her grumpiness disappeared. In front of her were her two soulmates, both in wolf form on the couch, Skye under Sharon, and both asleep.
She shifted and joined them, maybe a nap would help her mood, both Sharon and Skye moved to accommodate her.
Peggy went to Sharon's area later and saw the pile of fur. She tried to wake them gently at first, but when all she got was small growls, huffs, and rumbles from them, she had enough. She went over to the cleaning closet and took out a bucket and went to the kitchen and filled it with water, she then went back to the big ball of fur on the couch.
She stood there for a moment before she dumped all of the water on them.
Sharon and Maria jumped up ready to attack, but stopped when they saw it was only Peggy, they both then shifted back to human form.
"Why did you do that?" Sharon asked.
"I tried to be nice about waking you, but all I got was growls, huffs, and rumbles, so I changed tactics," Peggy said smiling.
Skye, who was still trying to figure out what happened, shook her body, which surprisingly had gotten a lot of the water.
"Ah Skye!" Maria exclaimed.
"What? You are already wet," Skye asked after she had also shifted back.
"Go dry off and change, we have to make dinner and talk," Peggy said.
"We wouldn't need to if you hadn't dumped a bucket of water on us," Maria muttered, her bad mood returning again. Skye must have noticed, because she walked closer to Maria, almost plastered to her side, and looked up questioningly.
Maria shook her head and gave Skye a small kiss.
They dried off and changed clothes in silence. When they got back, they found Peggy in the kitchen chopping veggies for dinner.
"Did you have a good time with Tony and Pepper, Skye?" Peggy asked.
"Yes, I did, it was amazing, I love their house in Malibu," Skye answered, taking a piece of carrot into her mouth.
"It is a beautiful house," Peggy said with a smile, she then looked at Maria.
"You haven't told them yet," Peggy said, it wasn't a question it was a fact.
"No, when I came back here, they were asleep, and I didn't want to wake them, I wanted a nap too," Maria said, her tone becoming more and more annoyed.
"Hey, easy Maria, what's wrong?" Sharon asked, concerned for Maria.
"Peggy and Fury have decided to add a new wolf to our pack," Maria said, in her commander tone.
"Isn't that a good thing?" Skye asked.
"Yes, it is, but my problem is who they want. I think it could be dangerous for the person, but they don't think it will be," Maria said, glaring at Peggy, who just raised her eyebrow at Maria, allowing Maria to be angry at her. She knew Maria is only concerned for Steve and the super soldier serum he already has flowing in his body.
"Who is it?" Sharon asked, looking at Peggy and laying a hand on Maria's shoulder to try and calm her down.
"Steve Rogers," Peggy answered calmly.
"WHAT!" Sharon exclaimed, looking wide eyed at Peggy, now understanding Maria's protests.
"Is it safe?" Skye aske, looking a little nervous between Maria, Sharon, and Peggy.
"Yes, it is safe, and I understand your concern Maria, but he will be a good contribution to your pack," Peggy said.
"It could be kind of cool and fun to have Captain America in our pack, and uh I will be bigger than him, for a while in our wolf form," Skye said excitedly.
Sharon snorted, "Of course you would be excited about that, because you are so small," Sharon teased. Skye glared at Sharon, causing Sharon to smirk, and then Skye tackled Sharon, or tried to. They ended on the floor wrestling, with Sharon and Skye teasing and playfully insulting each other.
Maria groaned and massaged her head.
"Maria while the kids are playing, I want to talk to you," Peggy said.
Maria looked at Peggy, and waited for her to continue, "I know your worried about Steve, but it is safe, and I mean it, I am not just saying it for some dumb reason, I sincerely mean it," Peggy said.
"I believe you for now, but why Steve?" Maria asked.
"He asked if he could become a wolf, I have been looking into it and I don't see any risk that isn't already there," Peggy said.
"Does Fury know that Steve was the one to ask?" Maria asked.
"No, he does not, he thinks I was the one who suggested it, and Fury agreed after a few days," Peggy explained.
Maria was about to say something when they heard a victorious cry, "Hmm sounds like the kids are done," Peggy said, making Maria shake her head.
When they looked over, they saw Skye sitting on top of Sharon, "Ha, I got you," Skye said with a wicked grin on her face.
"Okay two things, one, I can easily get out of this hold and put you on your back, and secondly, I slipped," Sharon said with a huff.
"On what?" Skye asked amused, Sharon only huffed again and gently pushed Skye off of her, and got up, not answering.
"Are we going to finish dinner, I am hungry," Sharon said.
Skye just laughed and got up herself, "Uh no, you are not allowed to make food that is not breakfast food or ready meals, and even that you need someone to supervise you," Skye said, taking the items she had and pushing her away with her hip.
"Hey, I am not that bad at cooking!" Sharon protested.
"You are not the best in a kitchen," Peggy said, coming over to stand beside Skye to help prepare the last bit, before putting it in the oven.
After dinner Peggy mentioned that Steve would come by in the morning to get his first transfusion and stay here with Maria and Sharon for the next month while he got his transfusions, shots, and so on, and that they had already set a date for his first shift, so Skye could be there.
The next morning Skye packed her things while Sharon was lying lazily on the bed, Maria had left to get Steve. Peggy had gone to her own area the night before and would be there soon, "When do you have to report to the Bus?" Sharon asked.
"At 1pm May is coming to get me," Skye said.
"Can't you just change your mind and stay here?" Sharon asked, looking like a kicked puppy.
"No Sharon, I want to do this and I kind of miss Coulson, Jemma, Fitz, and May, and staying on the Bus," Skye said.
"Fine, but I am glad you didn't say you missed Ward. I don't like that he is still there," Sharon grumbled, Skye smirked and went over to lay on top of Sharon.
"Is my big bad alpha soulmate jealous," Skye teased and kissed Sharon on the mouth.
Sharon growled but could not stop deepening the kiss and roaming her hands over Skye's body, especially her ass.
"Sharon," Skye said in between kisses.
"Hmm," Sharon hummed.
"The others will be here soon, we should stop," Skye said, sitting up so she was straddling Sharon, Sharon groaned.
"They aren't here yet," Sharon said, pulling Skye back down.
"I am here," they heard Peggy yell, and they both froze. They scrambled to get off the bed and straighten their clothes, before hurrying out of the bedroom.
"Hey, Peggy, when did you arrive?" Sharon asked, overly excited and a little embarrassed.
"Hello Sharon, Skye, I have been here for about ten minutes," Peggy answered, Skye's face got so red that Peggy thought it might cause a fire, and Sharon looked down.
"We were busy? Yeah, I was helping Skye pack," Sharon tried.
"Hmm so that is what it's called nowadays?" Peggy asked.
"What's called what?" Maria asked, coming in through the door with Steve.
"Sharon was helping Skye pack, so they didn't hear me coming in," Peggy said, which caused Skye to hide behind Sharon, who looked like she wished for the ground to swallow her.
"Did you at least get your packing done Skye before Sharon started to… help?" Maria asked.
"Almost," Skye answered, still hiding behind Sharon.
Steve looked confused, "I don't understand," he said looking very unsure what was happening.
"Ah Steve, you don't want to know," Peggy said, walking over to lay a hand on his shoulder.
"Okay," Steve said, still confused. They went to the couches and talked a little, before going to the topic of how the next month would go.
"Today, Steve, you will be given the first transfusion of blood, and Skye will be leaving to go back to a mobile command team, then tomorrow Steve you will get the first injection. Days three and four, you will also receive an injection. Day five you rest. Day six, you will receive three injections, one in the morning, one midday with a transfusion, and an evening injection. You will then have fourteen days of rest and lastly on day twenty two, we repeat as day six, three injections again, one in the morning, one midday with a transfusion, and an evening injection. A few days after that, Skye will join us for your first shift, any questions?" Peggy told Steve, and the others.
"No, not right now," Steve answered.
"Good let's start," Peggy said, walking over to the fridge and taking out the blood. When she came back, she took the rest of the things she needed from a bag beside the couch, "You ready?" she asked Steve who nodded, it was easy for Peggy to insert the needle.
At the end Steve looked a little green but insisted he was fine, Maria got up to get him something to eat and drink, which he was grateful for.
Eventually Skye had to leave, she kissed and hugged Maria and Sharon, "Remember don't tell anyone that it is Steve who is becoming our new member, and that May is training you," Sharon said to her, before she hugged Peggy, then kissed and hugged Sharon and Maria again, then she had an awkward handshake and hug with Steve, and then she again turned to Sharon and Maria and gave them one finial hug. They asked if they could walk her out to the common area and wait for May, but Skye said no, a very firmly no, she knew what would happen if they went with her. She also knew if they went with her she would have a harder time going back to the Bus, but she promised she would text, call, and facetime when they could.
Her and May were walking up the ramp to the Bus, the rest of the team was there doing various things. There was a quick greeting of how are you, how have you been, and it's good to see you, from both the team and from Skye.
"Take off in five people, so strap in," May yelled out.
Soon they were in the air.
