Chapter 41: Prelude to a Massacre
Morning
The sunlight finally hit it's mark on Ivan as he began tossing and turning in bed; his eyes opened and unleashed a loud yawn observing all around. All the blanks in his mind were filling in as he remembered last with Balalaika. It was unexpected that he not only survived the woman's wrath but in addition, got to see her masterpiece of a body. There was no sign of her as he still wasn't fully awake as he saw a tray of food consisting of two plates of sausages and scrambled eggs, a bowl of grapes, bagels, and two cups of coffee. In a few seconds, he heard a door, more specifically, the bathroom door open; he didn't know who to expect and all of a sudden, he glanced at some recognizable legs that gave him a little hard on and it wasn't until the whole body was in his view; he saw Balalaika, who was dressed in her usual red, wine skirt suit as she walked towards him and pressed her lips onto his. He couldn't forget such a kiss and refused to remove his lip lock on her; like she mind. It was paradise to her as well. She sat on his lap and could feel part of him harden, which she secretly enjoyed as Ivan caressed her legs, resulting in a couple soft moans.
With a few minutes expired, he removed his lips from hers while caressing the scarred side of her face while she rubbed his non-shaven face. They ate their breakfast and all that was left was their cups of coffee which they grabbed and took a few sips. Balalaika gazed at the man with a small smile, "Didn't expect a man like you to satisfy me. I'm well impressed."
He chuckled, "Didn't expect to survive your warfare but after last night, I must say that was one of the best nights of my life. I will never forget all the activities that occured, good and bad."
She took another sip and played with her hair as he placed the cup on the tray and laid down on the bed while she positioned herself on top of him, planting small kisses. She chuckled, "Well if you hide anything from me again, I will gladly kill you myself and you won't know how." He sighed while grabbing her hair and returning her kisses, "Come on. Give me a hint on your plan to execute me. I have to be a little prepared." She removed herself from him, unleashing a high amount of laughter throughout the room and which appeared to be a couple of floors. She faced the ceiling with her hands on her head, still recovering from her laughter, "You really are a moron….but you're my moron. There were times that I thought you were dead. I thought you ran because you would feel emasculated if I became a soldier or rather, the fear of my family. After all these years, you've returned to me. At first, I wanted to kill you but I couldn't go through with it; at least not yet. Took me a while to realize it was you."
His eyes widened at the realization at her last statement as he turned to face her, his Russian accent becoming more apparent the more he spoke, "Hold on, you knew? I guess I overplayed my part." She complimented him, "Actually, you played your part very well. It wasn't until you were at the hospital where a little bit of your Russian accent escaped your lips. Roberta and Revy knew. After hearing you, they immediately told me and I heard your accent. At first, we didn't know what to do. I thought about killing you because at the thought of you being a Russian spy sent to kill me but then when more thoughts entered my mind, there was a possibility it could be you. Rock thought it was best to keep you alive because you were an asset plus you protected him."
"So everything yesterday…."
"Was just me letting off steam. You did piss me off from hiding everything. I had to see if you would piss your pants but you remained calm, even when your life was about to end."
He unleashed a belly laugh, "The S2 unit has taught me many things, even when not to fold when guns are pointed at me. I should've known there was some method behind the madness. Even in Japan, it became apparent of your true mission." She arched herself off the bed and sat at the front edge of the bed as he soon followed. Her curiosity of Ivan's words rose as she cupped her chin, "True mission? I don't know what…." He shook his head as he softly held her hand, "You don't have to hide anything Sofia. It's quite obvious that your mission involved more than Japan. Yeah. Make everyone believe Balalaika's primary mission was to take out Japan and the Washimine group but that wouldn't be enough. I watched as you broke the necks of one of the men in Japan you were negotiating with. That was good but still not enough. I wondered why you brought him along. He does excel at being a great negotiator and interpreter but no. There's more to that. You became somewhat attracted to Rock and wondered how he would react alongside you. He disobeyed and questioned your motives, just as you planned. That stunt at the parking garage just added to the excitement. Boris was probably aware being by your side for quite some time but that ploy was just to excite you, that was your sex. Him questioning your orders was enough evidence for how much of a man he would be in your life. Only one thing, or person should I say, prevented you from continuing and that person was Revy. He was more important than some boring mission in Japan. I don't know what happened between you two but you wanted him to become the villain, your villain by your side."
Not a word was said yet. He didn't know whether he was a dead man but he wasn't going to die without saying his side to her. After a minute, just like the time in the parking garage, a growing cackle came through the female Russian's mouth as she continued laughing while grabbing a couple cigars, placed one in hers and Ivan's mouth, and lit them as she blew a puff in his face. Her laughter had finally faded, "I thought you were just a moron but I was wrong. You're a moron with a brain." A smile emerged on his face. She continued, "You figured me out without meeting me. Another reason why I want you by my side. There was something about that Japonski that piqued my interest. I wanted to see how things went with him. His words. How he planned and his assertiveness towards my objectives. He won me over and I had no choice; we slept together, Aside from you, at that time, he was different than any other man I was with. I wanted him but somehow I knew his eyes were on someone else."
Ivan took a puff and gazed at the woman for several seconds then he shook his head, "Don't end up being a moron like myself. Only one of us deserves that title." He placed his arm around her shoulder, "Now then. Enough talking about the past. Let's dive into the present, " as he leaned in and pressed her lips as she moaned .
Hours later…
The Russian duo finally arrived back at Ivan's apartment. At the door was Boris who slowly opened the door. Holding hands, they walked upstairs, followed by Boris, they arrived at the second floor where everyone was staring at the newly formed couple. Revy proceeded towards the two with her arms to her waist as she eyed the guy; she scoffed, "So you're alive. You're a lucky one. He was about to respond until Balalaika intervened, "No Two Hands. I'm the lucky one." The gunslinger was in awe. She turned to the Russian, this time, with her arms crossed, "Holy shit, he's the moron?" Balalaika nodded as she kissed Ivan's cheek. Ivan extended his hand to Revy as she heard his accent, "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm….." Before he could say anything, Revy finished for him, "Ivan. Sis talked about you while you were walking with Roberta." He gazed over Roberta and then to Rock and Eda as he let out another laugh, proceeding to a nearby seat, , "You guys are too good."
A few minutes later, everyone was seated waiting for one of the ex members of the Goliaths to make her appearance. Finally, she managed to walk out on her own with everyone eyeing her. She was a gazelle in a lion's den. She was in an orange tank top and black denim jeans as she glanced at everyone as most of them were preparing to kill her. She exhaled,"Whether you meant to or not, I thank you for sparing me. I'll do my best to answer all questions." Balalaika, who was sitting on Ivan's lap while he was on a couch, was the first to respond, "Your life isn't important right now, just don't give us a reason to end it. Now then, I want to know every single name of everyone in your organization so that I will kill all their families involved, including yours. Maybe I should start with your boyfriend over there." The woman kept her composure despite the threats made by the blonde. She looked at her man and nodded, "Don't kill him. Santiago was planning on killing him. He has nothing to do with this." Balalaika nodded while smoking her signature cigars as Ivan spoke, "We shouldn't waste time, Victoria." The huge chested woman responded, "You're right. I'm Victoria Istrati. I'm a former member of the Goliaths: A secret syndicate that's a unity with another assembly known as the Phantoms. All I know is Santiago. The rest has not revealed themselves to us. They remain in the shadows, hence their name." It was Chang's turn to respond, "So these Goliaths, you do know them. Tell us about them. I'll kill them first, then the Phantoms." She continued to explain their names one by one until she reached the leader of the Goliaths, "There's one more left and I know most of you know him: Dominic Hughes." Revy, in a seat next to Rock with her arms crossed, scoffed in disgust of such a name. She couldn't forget that man, "Painkiller. That fucker is so annoying. I wanted to shoot his head but he had no fear. Next time I see him, he'll be pissing from his brain."
Victoria shook her head as she shouted at the gunslinger, "No. He's too good. Bullets won't do shit to a guy like that. He's become a Phantom now." Silence entered the room as everyone's jaws dropped hearing that last statement. .The female ex-Goliath was serious as thought about her previous brawl against painkiller, her ex. Chang, with his confidence, grew a grin as he stood up, about to proceed outside, "A guy who believes he's made of steel? Now I've heard of everything. Seen the guy close up. This time, we'll find out how hard headed the guy really is." Victoria was asked to return to her room; Andre followed her. Everyone else, including Rock and excluding Chang, was in the main room, discussing the woman's fate and what she discussed. To believe or not: That was up to them to decide. Rock had thought she was being truthful due to her life being gambled and he would know a thing or two about gambling lives. Revy wondered if she made a mistake not killing the woman despite her instincts. Ivan thought it was a good idea to have a former Goliath on their side but Balalaika didn't know if she was telling them everything and wouldn't hesitate to kill her. Roberta was stuck on the fork between two roads: It would've been good to kill Victoria, however, they had a new fighter on their side, someone experienced and who can handle a few punches. Was there more to her? She would have to find out. Then a new plan was discussed as Rock stood in the front where everyone could see him. He straightened his tie, "Now that we're done with the Phantoms and Goliaths, we must leave this place. Eventually, with all that's transpired, the police force will be over in this area. We would be smart to evacuate before they plan a type of search." Eda approached Rock and rested on his shoulders and caressed one of his arms, "As always, Romeo, you're one step ahead." Revy was semi-disgusted but kept it to her as what Rock stated was far more important; she stretched her arms while smoking a cigarette, "Yeah and you think it would be simple to evacuate easily without being noticed? Remember, we're fucking criminals. Wouldn't be surprised if they have footage or a photograph of all of us." Balalaika agreed with the woman how the cops would be arriving sooner and then Ivan stared at Roberta for half a minute as an idea ended up in his head, "One second. We can act like we're escorting Garcia to a safer area. I doubt the police would question why he would have so much protection by his side especially after his father was killed." Everyone stood in silence and then everyone's faces spelled it out. Balalaika removed herself from Ivan's lap and kissed his cheek, "So you aren't a moron after all. Guess we can get packing." Then Revy followed suit, punching him in his arm, "Sis is right. Thought you were a fucking moron but you're fucking smart." She exited the room as Eda gave him a look then a nod as she exited as well.
Five minutes passed as Ivan was in a room by his lonesome as he stared out the window and heard what appeared as somewhat of peace and quiet but could've been just a warning of danger as with anything in his life. With his eyes closed, he heard footsteps approaching. Immediately, he knew the person. He didn't turn around, "Roberta, what brings you here? You should get packing." She remained in her alternate outfit, playing with her hair a little, as she closed the door and approached the same window, placing her arms on the window sill and resting her head on her arms, "We don't embark for another fifteen minutes and you're a very smart man for thinking of an idea spontaneously." A burst of laughter escaped the man as he took his hands off the sill and placed one on his head, "Oh that? Not really. I just thought of it out of nowhere but I don't tell Balalaika. Don't want her calling me moron." A small chuckle escaped the maid as she gazed at Ivan. "I see. So you're a spontaneous moron. Balalaika is happy to have you. Yes she is and I'm lucky to have her. By the way, I know another spontaneous moron." Her eyes slowly narrowed as he was baffled by her quick change of moods. Then a smile surfaced on her face as she turned her back to him with her arms crossed. She sighed, "Thank you for spending time with me, yesterday. I've been with many people, but you're extraordinary. There's plenty about you that I must know more about."
He was curious to what her next move was and then without warning, a fist was thrown which he quickly parried and slammed her across the wall as she gazed upon him where slowly his lips met hers. He couldn't stop. What about her was so inviting, enticing? What did she have that Balalaika was lacking? He didn't know. She returned the kiss with one of her own as he placed his hands on her tight ass. She quickly followed and stuck her tongue in his mouth and started a little dance as her hands caressed his obliques. His hands were now on autopilot as they rose up to her chest as they began playing under her tank top. She didn't say stop as they began massaging her mammoth breasts. He could hear her moan a few times...and she could hear him too. Then as if by instinct, he moved away. He made a mistake. He kissed another woman. He maneuvered and then sat on the bed where he was lost in thought. Not another word was spoken by either of the participants. She looked at him one last time before departing the room where he was by his lonesome again as he spoke one word as he could feel the cool breeze enter as if they wanted to eavesdrop on his whisper, "Roberta."
Places Unknown….
Arriving in a room was a familiar individual, Painkiller, who was called upon by the higher ups. He stood calm, ready to receive his awards. One of the Phantoms, who was still concealed via the darkness, was the first to speak towards the Goliath, "Dominic, you have done quite well with yourself. I was very amazed to hear the death of Santiago. I was twice surprised that you actually killed one of your own members from the Goliaths." He gazed upon the shadows to where the voice originated as he scoffed, "She was a traitor from the start. I tried to tell her to look at the path ahead but instead, she had other plans to focus on. I had no choice but to kill her." The other members and myself have decided on a unanimous decision: You have been voted in as a new member of The Phantoms." Dominic was surprised at the sudden acknowledgement. A smirk emerged on his face as he kneeled and he saw a gesture that said rise; he rose and a hand was placed on his shoulder where the female Phantom whispered some type of message, causing Dominic's eyes to widen.
The Phantoms opened the doors as they revealed themselves to the rest of the Goliaths. The female member smirked, "Santiago's next procedure was to invade a small island. Let's continue his onslaught and demonstrate our dominance." Another member nodded with an African accent, "Soon, nobody will be able to crush our reality of a new kingdom." Another voice was heard as well, "Frozen hearts will populate on that island." An evil grin emerged on the female Phantom as excitement oozed through her body, "According to Santiago's log, it should take us no less than sixteen hours to reach our destination. There should be plenty of souls to evaporate."
The Black Lagoon….
Everyone was on board, except for a few, away from the destruction that occurred a few days prior. Rock was in the middle of Revy and Eda who were both resting on his shoulders, respectively. Garcia and Fabiola slept at one of the corners of the ship; on the other corner of the ship was Shen-hua, who was wearing white pants, a regular red shirt, and without make-up, who rested her head onto Lotton's chest, who was without his jacket, which was laying beside him. Chang, also with his jacket and surprisingly, glasses off, was alone on another part of the ship while smoking a cigarette. Then there was Ivan, who was resting on the lap of Balalaika, who was petting his head.
Revy was the first to speak, yawning during the long trip, "How much longer until we get to this island? Seems like we've been going for eight hours. Any much longer and I'm gonna use some fishes as target practice. Benny, who overheard her complaining, responded with a smile, "Are you sure you want to do that? Bullets aren't free you know." The woman kindly replied, slight annoyed, "Fuck you." Rock chuckled a little when something, a picture in the middle of a wall of the ship to be exact, caught his interest which the gunslinger noticed as well, "Something on the wall turning you on? A small smile emerged on his face as he was now focused on her, "Well we could both be on that wall. That'll be a turn on. Don't you agree Revy?" She was lost of words and all she could do was unleash a burst of laughter as she whispered very smooth to the negotiator. He got up and followed the alluring picture; the gunslinger soon followed and when she glanced at the picture that drew Rock closer and closer, a part of her couldn't hold her emotions as she pounded the wall and her demeanor changed from calm to pissed off. Rock could even hear her mutter the phrase That fucking bitch. He was baffled why a picture would piss her off but he gazed at the picture again. It was a picture of Dutch, Benny, Revy, Eda, and another person in the picture: A copper skinned female with emerald eyes, long-single-braided-onyx hair, five foot eight and a half, semi-muscular figure, wearing crimson combat boots, blue denim short shorts reaching her legs, a white tank top, and bright pink-juicy lips.
Rock was in thought why Revy would be pissed about someone who was a part of the group. She wasn't even this pissed about Roberta, Shen-hua, or Eda. This woman made Revy want to shoot her in the head and feed her to the sharks. Rock tried to talk to Revy, "Say, who's that woman? Was she my replacement?" Revy shook her head as she punched his shoulder, "We didn't replace you, dumbass. We only added to our group. However…...looks like we made a mistake hiring that bitch. Benny came walking in the main corridor as he saw what Rock was staring at. He touched his glasses as he approached the two and when he saw the picture, a huge exhale escaped him, "I see you found the picture. That's a powerful mercenary but hard to negotiate with. Wish we had you at those times. Kathleen Omeika Wallace akaThe Hurricane Butterfly. A great expert of stealth and marksmanship. Because of her, missions were done under half an hour, unfortunately, she demanded eighty percent of any award we received." Dutch was a little frustrated hearing the name of Kathleen, "Hey Benny, do me a favor and don't mention her name. That woman's horrible. I'd rather have Roberta shooting at us than dealing with that bitch." Eda added her two cents, "Yeah. That woman was so bad, even Yolanda had to kick her out. She even insisted on joining the church. Lucky for her, Yolanda didn't have her gun that day." Shenhua joined in on the banter, "She bad lady. Played with swords too time that I see her, I cut that bitches throat."
Fabled Haven….
What was eternity finally ended as the Lagoon boat arrived at the island. A sign appeared and said Welcome to The Fabled Haven. Everyone finally exited the ship. Sunset had arrived as everyone entered a motel. Immediately, Garcia and Fabiola fell asleep. Victoria and Andre agreed to babysit the two while everyone went on their way.
Balalaika and Ivan stood near the sea where they watched the huge, shimmering, sunset. He placed his arm around her and planted a kiss on her lips. She raised an eyebrow and stared at him for a few seconds before he spoke, "Is everything alright? Hopefully my lips aren't crusty." She exhaled and chuckled, "Your kissing, even for a second, something is off about it. Usually, I can feel excitement with you, like I'm part of it but now it feels like something is wrong. Like you're yearning something, no, someone else. Now tell me who it is. Two Hands? That nun? That maid? Tell me who and don't deny there isn't. I don't want to place a gun at your face again.
He cleared his throat a few times before confessing to Balalaika, "You're quite the detective. Hours ago, Roberta and I made out. I couldn't control myself. There's something about her. Something that makes me crave for her. She's on my mind now. Maybe it's just a phase or some crush."
She scoffed at him, "You? Now having crushes? No. The man who was a child many years ago had crushes. The man now? You don't have crushes. As always, you aren't afraid to confess anything, however, I'm not the one to share. I suggest you find Roberta and settle things with her. I don't love triangles so for now, you best stay clear of me. If you change your mind, you know where to find me." She walked off, leaving the Russian to think things over.
Nightfall…..
Roberta was taking a stroll during the night. It was lonely and the skies were cloudless with stars around. It was a little warm. She thought about her moments with Ivan. Was she in the right to kiss him or wrong to make a move? She couldn't think about things too much. All of a sudden, she heard some footsteps. She was preparing to get in a fighting stance when she saw a man, who appeared nonthreatening, approach her. He was a Caucasian male, five foot nine, wearing a green shirt, and black jeans. He saw the maid, who was still in her alternate outfit but everything was fresh. He made an attempt to ask her out but she quickly turned him down. She passed him but all of a sudden, she heard the sound of a gun. She didn't have time for this but then seven men with guns came approaching her. The man she refused before had an evil smirk, "You must be Roberta. I've heard plenty about you." Surrounded, she remained calm as she questioned the man, "Are you FARC?" Everyone laughed as the man held a gun at her head, "FARC? Please. We would never filthy our hands with that group. Of course you weren't smart to know how dirty they could be. No. We work for the Goliaths and Phantoms. They sent us here in case you guys came here. Glad we found you," he sniffed her and licked her neck. He continued as he saw the disgust on her face, "Ooh look at you. I can't wait for tomorrow when the Goliaths and Phantoms come and turn this place into shit." She continued to question him further and he laughed, "Quite simple, bitch. They're coming at 9am and going to kill everyone here. It's going to be so fucking fun. Don't worry, you'll be spared and my sex doll if you behave well."
The maid exhaled and was about to kill them when a barrage of gunshots hit everyone except the main guy as everyone dropped. The man and Roberta looked up and it was Ivan who shot almost everyone. The man grabbed her and placed the gun at her head, "I got her now. Now back away." A huge smirk came across Ivan's face as he backed away. He saw her easily disable the weapon from the man as he pleaded for her not to shoot but it was too late as she shot him on the leg. She grabbed him by the throat, tightening her grip second after second, "I want to ask you something and if you tell me what i want to hear, I'll spare you." He was quaking with fear, "Alright. Alright. Don't kill me. Please. Please." That killer grin of hers struck more than fear to the man as she questioned him, "Who sent you? Tell me." She continued to squeeze his throat as his face began turning blue as he could barely speak. Finally, she loosened her grip on the man as he dropped to the ground; she didn't take her eyes off of him. Ivan proceeded closer, next to Roberta as the man finally spoke, shaking all around, "I….don't…..know her name. She told me to come here and if you were here, to scare you off. Please. Please. Don't kill me," the man begged for the woman not to kill him. Finally, he couldn't hold much longer as he pissed his pants. The maid's attention turned to Ivan as a more genuine smile emerged on her face, "So should we kill him?" He chuckled as he examined the gun and looked back at her, shaking his head, "No. no point killing the innocent." She looked back at him and nodded, "I see. I knew they weren't the prisoners from the other island. Who are they: weak mercenaries for hire?" Ivan handed her the gun to examine.
She was surprised after scrutinizing the weapon, "So that was their aim." He responded, "Yeah. No bullets. Of course. Have them point the guns and we kill them; probably were kidnapped and had no choice in the matter." Roberta examined the other men who were shot and was surprised none were dead as she glanced back at him. They were able to have all of the men sent to the hospital as the two were returning to the hotel. She stopped him for a few moments before they entered the hotel, " I've been wondering since we've been walking: You shot them but didn't kill them. How did you know they were innocent? He grinned as gazed at the full moon, "I know there are miracles but some bum out of the blue asking you out around this time? Something was definitely off." A small smile emerged on her face but she kept it hidden.
Back at the Hotel: 5:30 am…...
Roberta and Ivan spent their time knocking on doors which pissed off Revy as she was having some good dreams but knew there was an important matter if they were busting down doors. After everyone was done taking a shower and getting dressed, Ivan stood across from the entrance, letting them all know about the Phantoms' plot of invading the island they were on around 9am. A couple of surprised expressions emerged in the room while a couple kept their emotions in check. Finally, Revy let her two cents out on the situation, "Fuck. I can't believe this. Here we are, trying to lay low and these crazy fucks are coming here for another blood bath. However….." She caressed one of her cutlass pistols as that murderous grin came into view, "I didn't expect them to come early but finally I can kill all of them but I'll leave their bodies for the vultures and sharks." Chang didn't take his hand off his Berettas as he couldn't stop thinking how great of an opportunity this was that they didn't have to go searching for them and now was the time that he could kill everyone in that syndicate, "You can have the appetizers Two Hands. The main courses are reserved for me." Ivan gazed at the two gunslingers, knowing that he shouldn't try to talk them out of committing suicide in these handicap matches but he knew they would regain their composure and actually be smart.
Balalaika, with her hands clenched together, gazed at her boyfriend, causing him to blush, "So lover, what's the plan?" She put him on a tough spot but knew Ivan was made for this. He smiled back at the woman, stretching, looking at everyone, and diverted against the wall as he exhaled, "The Phantoms are a powerful crowd. If we're conjointly in one area, the Phantoms have a huge advantage, however, if we're all widespread, then we can be on par with them. Garcia, you and Fabiola stay with Dutch and Benny in the boat. In case anything gets alarming, you all can leave." Revy gave a quick glance to the male Russian as he caught her glance and understood her gesture, "This is life or death. Not target practice. If any of you are unable to participate in this, I suggest backing out now. These guys you can't hesitate against. Rock glanced up to Ivan, "What happens to me? Do I go along with Garcia and Fabiola? Ivan shook his head, "No. we have to keep them thinking we're all over the place so Mr. Okijima, you and Eda will stay here." Eda quickly placed her arms around her neck, pissing Revy off from the inside. Eda kissed his cheek while eyeing Revy, "Don't worry Romeo. I won't let you go."
Fabled Haven Pier Tower: 6:50am…..
A couple of men in a small orange, white tower were checking in on boat movements. One of the men, slim build, five foot ten and half, wearing cobalt uniforms. A knock came on the door as one of the men got up and opened the door. Standing when the door opened was Ivan along with Balalaika, Chang, Revy, RobertaShen-hua, and Lotton. He asked to be invited in as everyone else entered. Being skeptical, one of the men questioned the arrival of the crew, "Excuse me but who are all of you?" Ivan nodded, "Yes, my name is Ivan and I'm a bounty hunter." He presented ID to the man as he continued, "This is my crew and we're here to warn you." The man began to shake a little, "What's going on? Is there a criminal here?" Ivan looked around, displaying a hidden smile then nodded, "I believe you received a call from someone, a woman to be exact." The man jumped at the response, "Yeah. She told me to make sure nobody leaves this island until after ten." Ivan shook his head, "I'm afraid if we hadn't arrived, everyone, including yourselves, would be slaughtered. Listen I want you to make an announcement and tell everyone to evacuate but I want you to let them know a storm is coming. Have them all be gone by eight-thirty and then you guys will leave as well. We don't have time for questioning or arguments. Make the announcement. "
Usually, the man would refuse but something about Ivan convinced him to make the announcement and he did; pressing a special alarm to indicate to every place on the island there was an emergency. When everyone heard the news, a frenzy had begun as ships were quickly disembarking and sailing, people were gathering their belongings and hastingly vanishing.
By an hour, it was a ghost town and one of the men got a call, answering the intercom as everyone heard a female voice, a female Russian voice, "Hello sir. Tell me, what's the situation? Ivan signaled to the man to mention him, "Everyone left. I was told a storm is coming so I should let everyone leave and I did." On the other side, the woman was pissed as she responded, "You allowed everyone to leave? You weren't supposed to do so. Tell me who is the guy who…." That was Ivan's cue to pick up the intercom and let the woman know, "Dumb bitch. Dumb bitch: One, two, three. Oops. Looks like I ruined your morning. Why don't you leave and come back some other time?" She wanted to break the neck of whoever was on the other side but she kept her composure,"Well then. You wanted to ruin my morning? Very well. Death awaits you and I know you have other people there so if you would be so kind, give them this message, "Krov' mertvykh prol'yetsya na vse vashi nevinnyye dushi," and with that, she hung up. Ivan looked at the other men and shouted, "You all must leave now. We don't need anymore innocent bloodshed."Everyone left as Ivan and company left the tower. Roberta, who was walking beside Ivan, questioned him about the woman, "What was that message about? It was Russian wasn't it? He nodded, "Yes, the message translates to The blood of the dead will pour on all of your innocent souls. Be on guard everyone."
