Chapter 41.
(Harry POV)
I just got into the Tardis.
"Cardiff," Dad said. As I gentle closed it.
"Cardiff," Martha said. "Why?"
"Refuel," I said.
"Harry," Dad and Martha said.
"Hey," I said.
"Harry," Martha said as she rushed over hugging me.
"What," Dad said.
"I knew you will have to come back to refuel, Plus found an old friend of ours," I said.
"What do you mean refuel," Martha said letting go a bit.
"Cardiff is Built on a rift of Space and time, That rift bleeds energy. Harmless Radiation, Perfect for the Tardis, Just out up the engines soaked that Radiation up, Then off again," I said.
"So It's a pitstop," Martha said.
"Exactly should only take a few seconds, the rift's been active," Dad said.
"Long story," I said.
"Wait, they had an earthquake in Cardiff, couple of years ago, Was that you?" Martha said.
"Trouble with the Slitheen," I said.
"Long time ago, lifetimes, I was a different man, back then," Dad said.
"Yeah Big Ears," I said.
"Oi," Dad said.
"What? That's what Mickey called you," I said.
"Don't," Dad said.
"Oh you would never guess who I met again," I said.
"Who Sarah Jane," Dad said.
"Nope," I said.
"Who," Dad said as the consoled bleeped. "And go all powered up,"
"Found Jack," I said.
As he pulled the handbrake. Taking us off.
"Wait, What?" Dad said.
"Jack, you know, Captain Jack," I said.
"What but he," Dad said as the Tardis started shaking.
"What's going on?" I said.
"We're accelerating into the future. One Billion, 5 Billion, 5 Trillion, 50 Trillion. What the year 100 Trillion that's impossible," Dad said.
"Why what happens there?" Martha said.
"We're going to the end of the universe," Dad said.
Then we finally landed.
"What the hell caused that?" I said.
"I though you," Martha said.
"It's bumpy but not that bumpy, Martha and so not that fast either," I said.
"So what's out there?" Martha said.
"I don't know," Dad said.
"What, that is rare," I said.
"Not even the Time Lords came this far, We should leave, we should go, We should really, really go," Dad said.
"That's not happening," I said.
"Why?" Martha said.
"When have you knew he to back away from something," I said.
"Never," Martha said.
Then Dad went to head out.
"Knew it," I said. As we headed out side the Tardis.
"Oh my god," Martha said running over to Jack.
"Jack," I said.
"can't get a pulse, Hold on," Martha said.
"No, Just wait," I said.
"What why?" Martha said.
"You will find out, But how," I said.
"Hello again," Dad said.
"How?" Martha said.
"He came with us, from Cardiff, That's where I found him," I said.
"From Earth," Martha said.
"Yeap," I said.
"Must've been clinging to the Tardis, All the way through the vortex well that's very him," Dad said.
"What you know him?" Martha said.
"Yeah. He travelled with us for a bit," I said.
"But he's, He's dead," Martha said.
"And Now," I said as Jack woke up.
"Captain Jack Harkness and you are you?" Jack said.
"Martha Jones," Martha said.
"Nice to meet you Martha Jones," Jack said.
"Jack," I said.
"I was only saying hello," Jack said.
"I don't mind," Martha said.
"You are one crazy son of a bitch you know that right," I said.
"Yeah," Jack said. "Doctor,"
"Captain," Dad said.
"Good to see you," Jack said.
"And you. Same as ever. Although had a bit of work done," Dad said.
"You can talk," Jack said.
"I knew that was coming," I said.
"Yes the face, regeneration How did you know this was me? Could of been him?" Dad said.
"The police box kind of gives it away. I've been following you. For a long time. You abandoned me," Jack said.
"Says the person which got shot by Daleks," I said.
"I know about Canary Wharf, Harry filled me in," Jack said.
"Come on let's see what is here," Dad said.
"So there I was. Stranded in the year 200100, Ankle deep in Dalek dust, and he goes off without me, But I had this," Jack said.
"Vortex manipulator, Harry showed me," Martha said.
"Harry," Jack said.
"What," I said. "She asked, couldn't say no,"
"I used to be a time agent. Those 2 are not the only one who can time travel," Jack said.
"Excuse me, That is not time travel, It's like. I've got a sports car and you've got a space hopper," Dad said.
"Oh boys and their toys," Martha said.
"All right so I bounced. I thought 21st century best place to find the Doctor, Except I got it a little wrong arrived in 1869. This thing burnt out, so it was useless," Jack said.
"Told you," Dad said.
"I lived through the entire 20th century, waiting for a version of you that coincided with me," Jack said.
"But that makes you more than 100 years old," Martha said.
"And looking good don't you think?" Jack said. "So I went to the Time Rift based myself there, cos I knew you'd come back to refuel until finally, I get a signal on this detecting you and here we are,"
"But how come you 2 left him behind?" Martha said.
"I wasn't there, I kinda of got kicked off his Tardis as it transporter circuit activated and beamed me to the 1990, Eventually got my Tardis to pick me up and waited for them," I said.
"I was busy," Dad said.
"Is that what happens? D you just get bored of us, one day and disappear," Martha said.
"Not if your blonde," Jack said.
"Alright you 2 knock it off, We at the end of the universe here," I said.
"Right at the edge of the universe itself and you are busy blogging," Dad said. Then he walked off.
"Come on," I said getting near Martha pulling her towards me. "Wow,"
"Is that a city?" Martha said.
"City, or a hive or a nest or a conglomeration," Dad said. "Like it was grown, But look there that's like pathways, or roads, there must've been some sort of life, long ago,"
"What killed it?" Martha said.
"Time," I said.
"Just time, Everything's dying now," Dad said. "All great civilisations have gone, This isn't just night. all the stars have burnt up and faded away, Into nothing,"
"They must have an atmospheric shell, we should be frozen to death," Jack said.
"Us 3 maybe Not to sure about you, Jack," I said.
"But what about the people?" Martha said. "Does no one survive?"
"I suppose, I have to hope, life will find a way," Dad said.
"Well, he's not doing too bad," Jack said. As we saw a guy been chased.
"Is that me or is that a hunt," I said.
"Come on," Dad said.
As we managed to get to him.
"Oh I've missed this," Jack said. "I've got you,"
"They're coming, They're coming" he said.
"Jack. don't you dare," Dad said as Jack shot his gun up in the air. As I pull my Phaser out. "That better be on stun,"
"What the hell are they?" Martha said.
"We've got to keep going," He said.
"I've got a ship nearby, It's safe it's over there, Or maybe not," Dad said.
"Shit," I said.
"We're close to the silo, if we get to the silo, then we're safe," He said.
"Silo?" Dad said.
"Silo," Jack said.
"Silo for us," I said as we started running again as I had a hold on Martha.
As we got there.
"Show me your teeth, Show me your teeth," He said as we did, "Human let them in," opening the gate and we got in and he shot the floor nearby them stopping them
"Don't tell him to put his gun down," Jack said.
"He's not my responsibility," Dad said.
"And I am? That makes a change," Jack said.
"Seriously you too," I said.
"I want you," It said.
"Yeah, then I kill you," I said.
Then they backed off.
"Thanks for that." Dad said.
"Right, lets get you inside," He said.
"My name is Padra Fet Shafe Cane, Tell me, Just tell me, can you take me to Utopia?" Padra said.
"Oh yes sir, Yes I can," he said as we got in.
Then Dad started going on about his Tardis.
"You okay," I said.
"Am now," Martha said hugging me. then we followed.
"Man it stinking, oh not you," Jack said.
"Don't you see, though? the ripe old smell of human! You survived," Dad said. "Oh You might've spent a million years evolving into cloud of gas and another as downloads. But you always revert to the same basic shape, The fundamental human, end of the universe and here you are, Indomitable that's the word," Dad said.
And then we tired to open the door.
"Half deadlocked. See if you can overwrite the code, let's find out where we are?" Dad said as it opened and Jack and I catched dad.
"Got you," Jack said.
"Thanks," Dad said.
"How'd you survive without either of us," I said.
"Now that is what I call a rocket," Martha said.
"They're not refuges, they're passengers," Dad said.
"He said they were going to Utopia," Martha said.
"The Perfect place, Hundred trillion years and it's the same old dream, D you recognise the engines?" Dad said.
"Nope," I said.
"Whatever it is it's not rocket science," Jack said.
"But if the universe is falling apart what does Utopia mean?" Dad said as we closed the door.
"The doctor," Someone came and said.
"That's me," Dad said.
"Good," he said dragging Dad as we followed.
"Good apparently," Dad said.
As we made it to way we were going.
"Chantho," This blue girl said.
"Captain Jack Harkness," I said.
"Stop it," Dad said.
"Can't I say hello to anyone?" Jack said.
"Chan, I do not protest tho," Chantho said.
"Maybe later, blue," Jack said.
"What is that?" Martha said. as we went over to Jack bag and Martha pulled out a jar.
"Oh my god," Martha said. "You got a hand. a hand in a jar, A hand in a jar in your bag,"
"That's my hand," Dad said.
"I said I had a Doctor Detector," Jack said.
"What d you mean that's your hand, You've got both your hands I can see them," Martha said.
"Oh he lost that hand there in a sword Christmas day," I said.
"What and he just grew another hand," Martha said.
"Yeah, he did," I said.
"Might I ask, What species are you?" he said.
"Time Lord. last of them," Dad said.
"It is said that I am the last of my species too," Chantho said.
"Sorry what was your name?" Dad said.
"Chantho, a survivor of the Malmooth, this was their planet, Malcassairo. Before we took refuge," he said.
"The city outside, that was yours?" Dad said.
"The Conglomeration died," Chantho said.
"Conglomeration that what I said," Dad said.
"Dad," I said.
"Oh, right, Sorry," Dad said.
"You grew another hand," Martha said.
"Seriously," I said. "So what about those things outside, the beastie boys?"
"We call them the futurekind, Which is a myth in itself but it's feared they are what we will become," he said. "Unless we reach Utopia,"
"And Utopia is?" Dad said.
"The call come from across the stars, Over and over again, Come to Utopia, Originating from that point," he said.
"Where is that?" Dad said.
"Oh it's far beyond the Condensate Wilderness," he said. "Out towards the Wildlands and the Dark Matter reefs, Calling us in,"
"What d you think is out there?" I said.
"We don't know," he said. "But it's worth a look, Don't you think?"
"Hell yeah," I said.
"Professor," Dad said.
"Right that's enough talk there's work to do, now if you could leave, thank you," he said.
"Are you all right," Dad said.
"Yes, I'm fine," He said.
"Except that rocket's not going to fly is it?" I said.
"This footprint mechanism, thing, It's not working," Dad said.
"We'll find a way," He said.
"You're stuck on this planet," Dad said. "And you haven't told them have you?"
"You keeping hoping," I said.
"It's better to let them live in hope," He said.
"Quite right too," Dad said. "And I must say professor,"
"Yana," Yana said.
"Professor Yana, This new science is well beyond me," Dad said.
"But Since I got my Dad's brain there. but all the same, a boost reversal circuit in any timeframe must be a circuit which reverses the boost, So I wonder what would happen if I do this," I said. Pulling something.
"It's working," Chantho said.
"But how did you do that?" Yana said.
"Oh. we've been chatting away I forgot to tell you, I'm brilliant," Dad said.
"I've just got his brain for this," I said.
As a Klaxon was going off.
Then we got to work with it.
"You got it to work," Martha said.
"I got my dad's brain," I said.

After a while we were watching this guy get the footprint working so we had to keep the Radiation down.
"Extra power," Dad said. "Little bit of a cheat but who's counting, Harry keep an eye on the retro feeds,"
"Already on it," I said getting on my Vortex.
"Oh am I glad to see that thing," Martha said.
"Connect those circuit into the spar same as the last lot but quicker," Jack said.
Then we went and as the guy went into it.
"What is in that room Yana," I said.
"That chamber is flooded with stet Radiations," Yana said.
"Stet? never heard of it," Dad said.
"You wouldn't want to but it's safe enough we can hold back the radiation back from here," Yana said.
As he got the first on.
"It's rising 0.2 keep it level," Yana said.
"Jack," I said.
"Already on it," Jack said.
As he got the second on then as alarm was going.
"What the hell," I said.
"We're losing power," Chantho said.
"Radiation's rising we've lost control. the Chamber's going to flood," I said.
"Jack over ride the vents." Dad said.
"Oi, get your man out of there, Now," I said.
"We can jump start the override," Jack said.
"Jack no, It's gonna flare," I said. "Damn it,"
Then Martha went over.
"I've got him," Martha said.
"The Chamber's flooded with radiation," I said.
"Without the couplings the engines will never start, it was all for nothing," Yana said.
Then I moved Martha away.
"Leave him, Martha, He'll be back," I said.
"Professor you've got a room which no man can enter without dying, right," I said.
"Yes," Yana said.
"Well. I got your man," I said. As Jack woke up.
"Was someone kissing me?" Jack said.
"Forget it," I said.
As Dad, Jack and I ran to the room.
"Lt. Get on board the rocket, You're going to fly," I said.
"The Chamber's flooded," He said.
"We've found a way of tripping the system. Now go," I said.
"What are you taking your clothes off for?" Dad said.
"I'm going in," Jack said.
"Well, I'd say that stet radiation doesn't affect clothing only flesh," Dad said.
"Well, I look good though," Jack said. "How long have you known?"
"Ever since I ran away from you," Dad said.
"What you told me he was dead," I said.
"Doctor, Harry are you there," Martha said.
"Yeah, He's inside," I said.
"And still alive?" Martha said.
"Oh Yes," Dad said.
"But he should evaporate. What sort of a man is he?" Yana said.
"When did you realise?" Dad said.
"Earth, 1892," Jack said. "Got in a fight on Island. Man shot me through the heart. And then I woke up, thought it was kind of strange but then it never stopped. Fell off a cliff, Trampled by horses, World War One, World War 2, Poison, Starvation, A stray Javelin,"
"Ow," I said.
"In the end, I got the message, I'm the man who can never die," Jack said. "And all this time you knew,"
"That's why I left you behind," Dad said. "It's not easy. Even just looking at you, Jack cos you're wrong,"
"Thanks," Jack said.
"But you are, I can't help it," Dad said.
"Not to me it doesn't," I said.
"I'm a Time Lord, It's instinct, Its in my guts, You're a fixed point in Time and space You're a fact, And that's never meant to happen," Dad said. "Even the Tardis reacted against you. Tried to shake you off, Flew all the way to the end of the universe to get rid of you,"
"So what you're saying is You're Prejudiced," Jack said.
"I never thought of it like that," Dad said.
"Shame on you," Jack said.
"Yeah," Dad said.
"Last thing I remember back when I was mortal," Jack said. "I was facing 3 Daleks, Death by extermination, And then I came back to life, What happened?"
"Rose," Dad said.
"I thought you'd sent her home," Jack said.
"We managed to that latch off the console, Mum was in the Tardis when it came off," I said.
"She opened the heart of the Tardis and Absorbed the Time Vortex itself," Dad said.
"What does that mean, Exactly?" Jack said.
"No one's ever meant to have that power, If a Time lord did that, he'd become a god, A vengeful God, but she was human, Everything she did was so human, She brought you back to life, But she couldn't control it she brought you back forever," Dad said. "That's something, I suppose, The final act of the Time War was Life,"
"Do you think she could change me back," Jack said.
"I took the power out of her, She's gone, Jack, She's not just living on a parallel world, she's trapped there, Forever," Dad said. "The walls have closed,"
"I'm sorry," Jack said.
"Yep," Dad said.
"I went back to her estate, In the nineties, Just once or twice, watched her growing up, Never said hello, Time lines and all that," Jack said.
"Do you want to die?" Dad said.
"Oh, this one's a little stuck," Jack said.
"Jack," Dad said.
"I thought I did, I dunno, But this lot, you see them here, surviving and that's Fantastic," Jack said.
"You might be out there somewhere," Dad said.
"I could go met myself," Jack said.
"No one of you is bad enough," I said.
"Well it's the only man you're ever gonna be happy with," Dad said.
"This new Regeneration," Jack said. "It's kinda cheeky,"
"You think," I said.
As Jack got the last one.
"Yes," Jack said.
"Now get out of there," I said. "Come on," As Jack got out. "Get your clothes back on,"
"Lt, Everyone on board," Dad said.
"Ready and waiting," He said.
"Stand by. 2 minutes to ignition," Dad said.
Then we started to get everything on when Martha got here.
"The footprint it's a gravity pulse, It stamps down the rocket shoots up bit primitive," Dad said.
"But it's gonna take the both of us to keep it stable," I said.
"Doctor, the professors got a fob watch it's the same as yours, Same writing on it, same everything," Martha said.
"Don't be ridiculous," Dad said.
"I asked him, he said he's had it his whole life," Martha said.
"So he's got the same watch," Jack said.
"Yeah it's not a watch it's this, Chameleon thing," Martha said.
"What that Chameleon Arc thing, Rewrites DNA," I said.
"Yes, changes a Timelord into a human," Dad said.
"And it's the same watch," Martha said.
"It can't be," Dad said.
"That means he was right, He is a Time Lord," I said.
"You might not be the last one," Jack said.
"Jack keep it level," Dad said.
"But that's brilliant, isn't it?" Martha said.
"Yes it is, Course it is, depends which one, Fantastic, Yeah but they died the Time Lords all of them, they died," Dad said.
"Not if he was human," Jack said.
"What did he say Martha, What did he say," Dad said.
"He looked at the watch like he could hardly see it like that perception filter thing," Martha said.
"What about now, can he see it now?" Dad said.
"If he escaped the Time War then it's a perfect place to hide the end of the universe," I said.
"Face of Boe his dying words," I said. "Come on we got to get back there,"
But then the doors sealed.
"Lt, Have you done it, Did you get velocity, Have you done it," Dad said.
"Yes, We'll see you in Utopia," He said.
"Good luck," Dad said.
"Damn it, Jack get it open," I said.
Once Jack got it open we headed back for the lab. Where we ran into the Future kind. As I started to stun them. As we took another way there but once we got there Jack had to break it open so we could get in where. Chantho was down on the ground.
"She's dead," Martha said.
"No let me in," Dad said trying to get in the Tardis.
"I broke the lock, give me a hand," Jack said as we got over and managed to push it shut where the got there and started to trying to open it.
I begging you, Everything's changed it's only the 2 of us, We're the only ones left," Dad said.
then there was a light from the Tardis.
"What is that?" Martha said.
"He regenerating," I said.
"Doctor, think of something," Jack said.
As I switched my phaser to kill and shot a few.
"Now then Doctor, ohh new voice, anyway, why don't we stop and have a nice little chat while I tell you all my plans and you can work out a way to stop me, I don't think," He said.
"I know that voice," Martha said.
"That sounds like Saxon," I said.
Then he tried to take off where Dad did something. As he got away.
"Now what?" Martha said.
"This, Hold on while I set it," I said. Setting my Vortex for Earth. "there ready." As Dad, Jack and Martha got hold and I hit it. As we transported away from there.
