Chapter 42: Kids Watching Kids

The following day after the events the last chapter…

[Herkelston]

(Sector CH Base, The Creek)

Sector CH was more than excited to be considered for more missions now that they were out of cool for the summer. The group was a bit more assured given they had their mentor and two extras to aid. However, when they were offered a mission as someone wanted to hire Sector CH, Connie was tense and so were Steven and K.O. The mission's boss…Joshinari Blackthorn.

"So, I have a question, why hire us?" J.P. asked.

"Simple, this mission concerns the matters of a child. Namely, my young daughter, Deandra." Joshinari said seriously as his daughter plopped down on her lap.

The now three-year-old child had certainly grew and was the apple in her father's eyes.

"Tou-san, are they going to be the ones you hired to spend some time with me?" Deandra said innocently.

"Pretty much." Joshinari said bluntly. "I don't exactly want to leave you with my Ghetto Ninja for babysitters. You managed to evade them."

"Not my fault. Can they take to my cousin, please?" Deandra asked sweetly.

"Fine. So, I task you to keep an eye on my daughter while I attend to my duties as Kage. You'll return her by the evening." Joshinari stated. "I suggest you get over here, pronto."

He hung up as Craig took a hard gulp.

"Ms. Connie, advice?" Craig asked.

"I had the pleasure of working alongside a Blackthorn, my former boss and teacher, Ryker Blackthorn. That was his older cousin, Joshinari. He is not to be trifled with, if you we do this mission. We make sure the kid is happy, or else…they'll erase us." Connie said bluntly.

They were get to in the S.C.A.M.P.E.R..

[The Hidden Ghetto Village]

They landed right on top of Kage Tower where the Amoral Aces were waiting with a few Ghetto Ninja jounin. Craig came out first with J.P. and Kelsey, weapons drawn just in case.

"Good, you got here right on time." Delia said.

Deandra came out wearing a standard issue Ghetto Village tunic, shorts, and boot. Her hair was styled into a small ponytail and she got on her backpack.

"Now Deandra, don't give your uncle Ryker too much of a headache." Joshinari said.

"Ok, tou-san." Deandra said.

"And make sure our little girl isn't harmed or else." Delia said darkly before sensing others on their ship. "You didn't come alone."

"We didn't exactly trust you." Kelsey said.

"Well, we don't either. Have them come down, now." Delia said as Michiko and Shinobu drew their weapons.

"Easy! There's no need for bloodshed!" Connie said coming out with Steven and K.O.

"Jade Company?" Keitaro said glaring at the trio. "Explain this."

"Technically, Steven and Connie aren't members of Jade Company, they're freelancers now. K.O. is a junior POINT member." J.P. clarified as Keitaro calmed down.

"Freelancers? My litte cousin isn't paying well or did his little group crash and burn like his precious show's fandom." Joshinari said with a chuckle.

Steven simply glared at the Kage who reveled in that fact. Of course, Joshinari had a point but Steven just did not want to give him the pleasure of admitting that he did.

"Jade Company is just downsizing, and I wanted to go independent for a while. Sort myself out for a bit." Steven affirmed.

"Just like your canon counterpart." Shinobu snarked before Steven punched her in the face.

Weapons drawn once again.

"Did a strike a nerve?" Shinobu said coyly.

"You wouldn't be saying that if you didn't have your boss protecting you, but let's talk about your canon self's simping for the spineless cuckold." Steven snarked as Keitaro had a gun to his face. "Don't make it laugh. Bullets can't mar a diamond."

"That's enough. We have a job to assist in." Connie said pulling Steven away.

Sector CH, Steven, Connie, K.O., and Deandra took their leave.

[Music Ends]

Connie reminded Steven to not let their words cut too deep. Steven inwardly wanted a drink, but shoved that feeling down. The group arrived at Neo Bayview. Rai ran out of the house and jumped down into the sand right Craig opened up the ship.

"Deandra!" Rai said excitedly.

"Rai!" Deandra said equally enthused. "Hm?"

Ryker came up.

"Uncle Ryker?" Deandra asked as he nodded.

"Steven, Connie, K.O.?" He asked as they came out with Sector CH. "Explain please."

"We're helping Sector CH babysit Deandra." Connie said.

"Oh perfect, I need a babysitter for Rai!" Ryker said as they balked. "Look, I need to handle a couple of business deals. And the rest of my team is either on vacation, drained, or in of a break."

"Will we get paid and how much?" Craig asked.

Ryker got to his BlackTab. It was a simple matter of pulling the money of storage. After all, his parents did send them plenty of cash to care for their grandson. Sector CH each found themselves 40,000 dollars richer, and they happily accepted the job. What could possibly go wrong?

[The Creek, Herkelston, Outer Towns]

The kids of the Creek were a bit frightened by the two tenth rank kids. Of course, they tried to at least be nice enough given who their parents were. The group were in the Splintery Butt just having a few drinks. Deandra walked over to see a group of older kids and some teens playing cards.

"Is that blackjack?" Deandra said with a wry grin.

"Yeah, what's it to you?"

"Deal me in." Deandra said going into her bag. "I got these explosiove notes."

She put a stack on the betting pile and got dealt into the game. It would be twenty minutes before her babysitters realized she was out of their sight.

"Where's Deandra?" Rai said as Craig, J.P., and Kelsy choked on their drinks.

Sensing for tenth level warper was not too hard given their warper energy was heavily potent. Kelsey came up to the table to see Deandra was on a roll. The little time she had spent at the village, she picked up some habits. Like how to count cards, play cards, and cheat at cards.

"There you are, we're leaving." Kelsey said.

"Ok, I just was collecting my winning. Easy 500 dollars…" Deandra said taking the winnings to stuff in her bag. "Let's go."

They took them to the field that was Horse Girls' turf. Deandra and Rai took it as a chance to spar with each other. It was clear that both were going on instinct then training but the foundation was there.

[Neo Bayview]

Ryker was in the midst of finalizing some deals. With one of the Elites, that was not Katsumi, called to say he could lay him, he was over the moon. He had several options but reading up on the duo made him privier to make a deal with them. He simply tasked Pink with convincing them. Ryker had called over a few people to discuss matters in Anya's limo…which was parked.

"I got Pink eyeballing the place to see how to go about offering the alliance. I just need a confirmation of who's up for expanding on that universe." Ryker said before taking a slice of the pizza.

"I'm hold for starting up a racing scene in that universe. I got friends looking to start up in the new universe. Gerald's Autos and Mods is going to be a franchise." Gerald said confidently as his wife play-punched his shoulder. "Motoko, I promised you that I'd get your cousin a place to set up a dojo."

"Gerald, I know I agreed to help you with this for a cut, but who you sending to run the garage?" Kevin asked.

"I got people. As for the header, I got the hook up with a superbike racer interesting in kicking up a garage. Proof." Gerald said as he ate a slice.

"The silent guy with the dreads? Ok, I can work with that." Kevin said.

"And have you even considered the matter of the League of Villains? If word of your attempt to move in on this universe come out, RN is going to want to recurit the villains." Gwen warned. "Or pull a Dymmi and steal their quirks."

"All for One is a quirk that is ultimately useless to warpers…considering it only works towards quirks. And considering there's a crap ton of tech that can do the same with less effort. Most likely they'll want to eradicate AFO." Kevin mused. "You sure you keeping this secure?"

"Yes, privacy seals all around. I also made sure to re-secure the Blackfrost. Now, I asked around on anything wanting to invest. I got Tamara de Sky and Claudia Amber on wanting to try that universe to start up business. I asked Whitlea, but…she and Greg got together." Ryker said as everyone was quiet.

"Wait, does Pink know?" Amethyst asked.

"No. Her and Greg haven't even been talking lately…especially since Whitlea regained her former pink form. Personally, it's not my business. If Greg wants to take a chance with a new woman, that is his choice. I don't blame him considering everything that went down." Ryker affirmed.

"Agreed." The lot of them said.

"But how is Pink handling her singleness?" Motoko asked.

"Sleeping around. She's kind of a nympho." Amethyst said bluntly. "Then again she was always lustful for organics."

"Don't remind me." Ryker said with a heavy blush. "Pink has asked, but I turn her down. I really don't want to stick my dick in what I created, plus…Pink Diamond in general is a bit of a turn off. I rather the other Diamonds."

"No one will judge you for that." Gerald said.

"Did you forget the other reason being you're married?" Gwen shot back.

"No…" Ryker said. "And in the important details, I told Merch…and he has some friends wanting to start up. His step-daughter even wants to get involved with her fiancé."

"Ok, we got the planning out of the way, but what we need is a when?" Gerald asked.

"I'll give a month on the prep time, besides…I'm playing long time for now." Ryker mused. "And we should go…we're paying to use this by the halfhour."

[The Hidden Ghetto Village]

After a long day and Rai being dropped off at home, Sector CH arrived to drop off Deandra to her parents.

"I hope you didn't give your sitters too much trouble." Joshinari said.

Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. all looked crispy from Deandra's 'play-fighting'.

"Just pay us our money." Craig said tiredly.

Joshinari handed them the briefcase with the payment and Craig opened it to make sure before closing it. He left with his team with a word.

"What did you do to them?" Delia said as Deandra 'innocently' giggled.

"Oh nothing. Me and Rai had a fun with them." Deandra said opening her bag. "I played at a blackjack table and won lots of cash."

"That's my girl. Little nigga is on fire!" Stinkmeaner said with a smirk. "Just like I taught you."

"How do you play if you're blind?" Michiko asked.

"Oh, I got my sight back a long time ago. I just pretend to be blind to fuck wit niggas!" Stinkmeaner said cackling. "So, Kage…can I go take my genin team to test their strength?"

"Against who?" Joshinari asked him.

"Those heroes in Japan." Stinkmeaner said darkly.

"I will allow it. If they can get their asses whopped by pirates, ninjas will be too much for them!" Joshinari said before laughing.

(A/N: For those curious, part of it is set for Our Anti-Hero Academia and You Shall (not) Win This Time…along with a bit of The Geist Within. By the time this is posted, I had not updated OAA. I do have Arc 2 of it already done, but it's not posted yet as I want to hard for the end of the month to post up updates for most, if not all, of my work. What you're getting is two out of the planned 25-35 chapters overall (counting multiple series) this month. Moving on, I got around on aging Deandra and Rai to allow for them to grow as characters. Rai made for a good kind-hearted foil to Deandra's mischievous nature. FusionFall Infinite is going on a small hiatus…until OAA, You Shall (not) Win This Time, and The Geist Within updates.
