With a quick nod, Julia hurried out of the room and then went down the hall to the kitchen telling her father, "Mom wanted me to help you."
"You didn't need to," Castle told her.
"Yeah, but it's not easy all by yourself; what can I do?" Julia said as she reached him.
Squeezing her shoulder Castle said, "You're too much like your mom. But if you really want to help, I'd appreciate if you could set the dining room table."
"Sure," Julia said. "Do you want me to get the fancy plates?"
"That's okay," Castle replied. "I get the feeling your mom would be a little annoyed if I did. Just grab the ones here," Castle said. "But don't worry about the glasses for us, I'll get the adults some wine except for your grandfather."
Julia nodded and then hurried to get what she needed, walking to the dining room and starting to set the plates at the chairs until she was going back for napkins and cutlery. When she went back to get the cups for herself, her sister and Jim, she was startled to see her mother was in the kitchen and kissing her father. She smiled as she quickly got over her surprise before she turned back to the family room while she wondered if she should head over there.
"Julia," Beckett called to the girl.
Turning, the girl saw her parents were apart, and she headed over to them before she said, "I just needed to get the glasses."
"I'll get them," Beckett said. "Go back to the family room, we'll take care of everything else."
When their daughter nodded and left them, Castle told his wife, "She saw us."
"I noticed," Beckett said. "Let me get their drinks before we get the food out."
"Sure," Castle replied before she was leaving him in the kitchen. He started pulling out the food from the ovens, watching his wife as she walked back to him once he had finished. "Good?" he asked her.
"Way too much," Beckett told him teasingly. "Luckily the girls will have some for lunch."
"Should we give some to Alexis and Louis?" Castle asked her.
"Probably," Beckett said. She smiled when her husband looked at her in confusion and then told him, "You should ask them."
"Well I was going to say once we asked them, you didn't let me finish," Castle told her in mock annoyance.
"Let's get this to the table," Beckett told him with a smile. She walked up to him and shared a brief kiss with him before they were taking the first plates.
"Oh good," Eliza said happily when they heard Castle calling to them that dinner was ready. "I'm very hungry."
"I'm not surprised," Martha said. "You didn't have time for a snack."
Nodding Eliza then asked Alexis and Louis, "Do you have a lot of pictures?"
"Plenty," the latter said with a smile. He then told them, "Hopefully you won't be bored."
"We wanted to see them," Julia said reassuringly. She was going to tell them they'd enjoy the pictures when they were walking into the dining room and her mother was telling them about the meal.
"Remember he said celebration," Beckett was saying as she was smiling at the others' reactions to the full spread on the table.
"You don't want it?" Castle asked the others.
"I do," Eliza said firmly, literally marching to her father and hugging him tightly. "Can we eat?"
"Yes," Beckett said, smiling again when her husband looked at her in surprise. They gathered around the table and she said, "Toast?"
"Yeah," Castle said. "To the newlyweds again, welcome back home."
Murmuring cheers along with the others, Alexis thanked her father before they were passing around the dishes that went with the ham he'd made. Once they'd eaten for a little she said, "I thought of you two taking the pictures I did."
"Really?" Eliza asked.
"Really," Louis said. "She was asking me a few times what you'd like to see. I told her everything, so she did stop asking."
Beckett smiled as the girls giggled before she turned her attention to Josie, making sure she was eating alright before Julia was telling her to tell Alexis about that Saturday.
"What's this weekend?" the young woman asked.
"Skye told me while we were in Apple Canyon," Beckett said. "They're filming the music video this weekend."
"Killer Queen?" Louis asked. He then frowned slightly and asked, "You didn't want us to come along did you?"
Shaking her head, Beckett said, "I know you both need to work. She just wanted me to let you know."
"Are you taking the girls?" Alexis asked.
"We are," Beckett replied.
"I'm going with them," Jim said.
"And we're staying the night," Castle said, looking pointedly at Julia and Eliza.
"What's the joke?" Alexis said, smiling when her little sisters were snorting into their cups.
"They forced us to stay," Beckett commented.
"We didn't force you," Julia said, exaggerating her voice more than she thought she would. She couldn't continue since they were laughing together and it took her a while before she could speak again saying, "Sorry, but we asked them to, just for one night and we wouldn't care."
"And let Gram and Grandpapa have time with us," Eliza said.
When her oldest granddaughter looked at her Martha said quickly, "I'm going over to the theater in Southampton, Bobbi Felton is directing a play and she wants me to see a practice that day."
"What play?" Alexis asked.
"Pygmalion," Martha replied. She then took a sip of wine and said, "But I'll be here when Jim returns of course," directing that to her son and daughter in law before Alexis was speaking.
"Would you mind if we came over?" Alexis asked.
"We can spend the night," Louis commented, smiling when Julia and Eliza's heads whipped to the side to look at him.
"That would be great if you could," Castle said. "And I'm talking for the girls' sake."
"Then we will," Alexis said with a smile as the others were looking at her. "It'll be nice to unwind with you two after working. And you can tell us how filming goes."
"We will," Eliza said excitedly before they were finishing dinner.
Beckett wasn't surprised when the others were clearing the table together, leaving her and Alexis with Josie while she took the baby from her highchair to gently clean her mouth.
"How're you feeling?" Alexis asked her mother as she moved to sit with her.
Stopping her, Beckett said, "Let's meet them in the family room." When her oldest nodded she handed her Josie and then said as they were walking together, "No and yes."
Looking at her mother in surprise, Alexis suddenly realized what her mother had meant, and she said, "I'm sure you'll do great… whatever ends up happening."
Laughing softly, Beckett said, "You sound like your dad, but I'll do what I can."
"I bet that's all Skye wants," Alexis replied.
"Hopefully," Beckett said. She saw her daughter, as they sat together on the couch, hesitate before she said, "I'll have to lip sync, but no one's caring I didn't sing the recording." She smiled at Josie when the baby was looking up at her with wide eyes and then added, "It's probably for the best."
Alexis was laughing softly and then said, "I don't know, I have heard you sing and you're not that bad."
Smiling again, as she had sung to her three youngest, Beckett said, "I sounded better in our past life."
"It doesn't matter," Alexis said, watching Josie reach for their mother. "How're you and Dad doing?"
Beckett was startled at her daughter's out of the blue question and said, "Are you worried?"
"No, just making sure," Alexis replied.
"We're fine," Beckett assured her. She then smiled and said, "We really don't need to stay in the city."
"You should have a dinner out alone once in a while," Alexis replied. "Or are you going out with Skye and Mary?" She then said, "And the band?"
"Just us; they're heading back to LA as soon as we're finished," Beckett said.
"How…" Alexis started to say before she realized what her mother meant. "They're flying a plane back there?"
"A friend of hers wants his plane back at LAX so they're flying here commercial and then taking it back for him," Beckett said. "I think she said he was having maintenance done here but I don't know for sure."
"At least they'll be able to get home quickly," Alexis said.
"So we're on our own," Beckett said. "We tried calling the others in the city but Javi is with his mom for his cousin's daughter's birthday party, Ryan and Jenny are having a date night as they put it and Lanie and Dylan are going to stay in with Miles."
"Then your relationship is fine," Alexis said. She smiled when her mother looked at her and explained, "I can tell by the tone of your voice you're looking forward to it."
"We both are," Castle said.
"Did everyone kick you out of the kitchen?" Beckett asked her husband in slight surprise.
"No, I offered to ask for Louis, do you want leftovers for lunch?" Castle said, directing the question to his daughter.
"That would be great," Alexis said quickly with a nod. She thanked her father as he was leaving and she said, "How was he while we were gone?"
"Good," Beckett reassured her. "He's been referring to Louis as your husband so he's accepting."
"I heard that!" Castle called from the hall.
Alexis laughed with her mother and then said, "I was worried he'd be a little depressed but good thing he has you."
"I didn't really need to do anything," Beckett said.
Shaking her head, and giving Josie to their mother, Alexis squeezed her arm before she stood and told her, "You don't."
Beckett smiled at the obvious compliment there and then looked at Josie to see the baby was watching her big sister. "Are you getting the pictures ready?" she asked.
"I am, I get the feeling they're coming down the hall to us soon," Alexis replied, focusing on getting the memory cards ready that she had used. She then began setting things up and by the time the rest of the family came in she had the first picture up.
"Ooh!" Eliza said eagerly as she saw it. "Look at all the lights!"
"Dad's bringing coffee Mom," Julia said to her mother as she walked in with the others.
"And milk?" Beckett asked.
"Yeah, and then we're gonna have a cookie," Eliza replied.
"The ones we made yesterday with the girls love," Castle told his wife as he was walking in with a tray. He poured out coffee for those that wanted it and with a ginger cookie they were all watching as Alexis and Louis explained their visit with their pictures. He wasn't surprised when the two were focusing on the days they did things, since he and Beckett had noticed they hadn't gone out every day. He shook himself when they finished with Versailles and started applauding while the others were joining him.
"You don't have to do that," Alexis told her family with a smile.
"No, it's deserved," Jim told her. When his granddaughter looked over at him, he said, "You did a great job with them."
"Thanks," Alexis said. She turned and asked, "The girls need to go?"
"Did you want to write in your diary?" Beckett asked Julia. She wasn't surprised when her second oldest nodded and said, "Then we better stop for the night." She was laughing with the others as Julia and Eliza groaned in mock annoyance before they were getting up to say goodnight to the newlyweds before they returned to their home and they all prepared for bed.
October 11th, 2021
I'm here for a quick entry today Evangeline, I know you're expecting me to talk about school but instead I'm going to talk about later today (everything was normal so there's nothing that special to really write).
When we were changed for dance class and back outside we saw 'lexis and Louis were back! We ran over to them; of course; and hugged them both and told them we were really happy they were back. I wanted to ask if they had pictures, but of course I had to go and dance, but it wasn't that bad since we practiced tap today. When the class was over, we went home and I had to do homework, but I was lucky it was just math since when I finished Mom took me downstairs to the family room.
There 'lexis and Louis were giving us gifts from Paris and I loved mine, a really cute t-shirt and the best thing, three books that are France's version of Dear America books. They're called Mon Histoire (My History) and I can't wait to try and read them! The best gift that any of us got was the winter coat 'lexis got for Josa, the prettiest blue color and one that's really close to the color of her eyes. It's got a fluffy inside so when the hood's up she looks like Grace from the Little House books- the fifth one and the chapter where Ma is tying the hood of the swan's down under her chin. Luckily this coat is wool and not swan!
We ate dinner after that and of course Dad; being Dad; had a big ham dinner like it was Christmas though not the same side dishes. It was a really nice dinner though and Mom got to tell 'lexis about her being in the video this weekend. Since she and Louis have to work Saturday, they won't be able to go see it with us, but they'll come over once we're back from the city and that's going to be a lot of fun. Luckily Mom and Dad are going to stay in the city all on their own which I'm really happy about since of course they can't go to Mill Valley after Tahiti since there's the concert next month (this year though Evangeline, since I'm crossing my fingers they can go next year). After that we got to see 'lexis and Louis's pictures from Paris… I guess I should really say they're 'lexis' since she took most of them, but he took a few too. There weren't that many with them being gone for three weeks, but I know that they were probably spending time alone in their suite. It took us a while to go through all those pictures and by the end Josa was asleep and Lizzy needed to get to bed.
Hmm… I wonder if I should have written about school since this entry didn't take that long. But I just wanted to write about 'lexis and Louis coming back, tomorrow I'll try to write about school. But I have more time to talk to Mom and Dad, so I'll end here Evangeline and I'll see you tomorrow!
Emptying her pen, Julia closed the bottle of ink before turning her attention to putting her diary away in her desk. She got up then, hurrying to the doorway of her room in time to see her parents coming up the stairs and talking to each other. "Hey," she said, smiling at them when they stopped as they noticed her.
"You're finished?" Beckett asked first. When Julia nodded, she followed her into her room and then said, "Want to go to bed."
Castle, closing the door behind them, laughed when he saw the look on their second oldest's face and said, "I think that's a no love."
"I think so," Beckett replied. "I'm kidding sweetie, what do you want to do?"
Thinking for a moment, Julia then said, "Just talk?"
"That's fine," Castle said before his wife was placing her hand on his arm.
"It depends on what you want to talk about though," Beckett told their daughter, watching her obviously thinking for a moment before she answered.
"Could you tell me when you realized you were in love with Mom?" Julia asked her father.
"I've told you that a dozen times already," Castle said in protest though he was smiling at the same time.
"I know, I just wanted to hear it again," Julia replied. She then said, "Okay, then if not then, what about where else in the world we're gonna go."
Beckett smiled at her husband and then turned to their daughter saying, "You're wondering?"
"Kind of," Julia said.
"Where would you like to go?" Castle asked her.
"Anywhere," Julia said immediately.
"Really," Castle said.
Nodding Julia said, "I'd love to go around and see the different places."
"We will," Castle said before he watched with his wife as their second oldest was shifting at little on the bed.
"What is it sweetie?" Beckett asked her with a smile.
"Could we ever go on a Disney cruise?" Julia asked slowly.
"Yes," Castle said before his wife could speak. He wasn't surprised they were both looking at him in surprise and he told them both, "I looked into it, they actually go to a lot of places in the world, and it would be fun for you guys."
"But?" Beckett asked.
Smiling for a moment; as he wasn't surprised his wife had caught that; Castle told her, "I think we should wait for Josie to be older."
"I think that means he has other places planned first," Beckett told her daughter.
"What about our spring break?" Julia asked her mother.
Smiling, Castle said, "You remember we told you and your sisters already; Hawaii."
"Still?" Julia asked hopefully.
"Yeah, I want to take you guys there," Castle said. He was startled when Julia looked uncomfortable and was about to speak when his wife did first.
"We're not going anywhere near where your dad went with his first ex," Beckett said. When her husband looked at her with wide eyes, she shook her head rapidly and then turned her attention to Julia again.
"Sorry Dad, 'lexis mentioned you went on your honeymoon there," the girl replied. When her father told her it was okay, Julia then said, "Where did you go with your other ex?"
"It doesn't matter," Castle said. He saw that Julia looked annoyed and then sighed saying, "Just Key West, but we got a room at a hotel and if we ever go there, I'll make sure we stay away."
"Is it okay to go there Mom?" Julia asked her mother.
"Of course," Beckett said. "I'm not going to not visit a place just because your dad went there with someone else. Just the hotels."
Julia giggled briefly as her father nodded and she then said to him, "I can't wait to see where we'll go."
"You'll find out, but for now you have school to focus on," Castle told her.
"And Halloween," Julia said quickly.
Laughing, Castle said, "That's true. You thanked your gram for your costume, right?"
"Yep, a ton of times," Julia said as Martha had already finished her costume and was nearly done with Mari's. "Good thing Lizzy's is so easy."
"She loves her Hogwarts costume," Beckett said in amusement as the little girl had chosen to wear that for Halloween since she still fit in it.
"I wonder what she's gonna wear next year," Julia mused.
"Not the same thing," Castle said. "She's growing already."
"Hopefully not too much that she can't wear the uniform," Julia said with a smile.
"Yes I know, the skirt is only a little shorter but still," Castle replied before he then turned to his wife.
"You're still wearing your outfits, right?" Julia asked them.
"We are," Beckett said, glancing at her husband. They'd decided to wear their twenties outfits since they already had them. She was about to bring up the subject of Julia's next birthday party when her husband was speaking about it to her surprise.
"Would I need to get another suit for her thirteenth?" Castle asked his wife.
"That's up to you I think," Beckett replied.
"Do the suits look that different?" Julia then asked.
"Not really," Castle said.
"Are you going to wear a hat?" Beckett said with a smile when her husband looked at her.
"No," Castle replied. He was going to speak when he stopped himself and then asked her, "Did you want me to?"
"No," Beckett replied. "I was leaving that up to you."
"I won't, not if we're going to be in the house," Castle replied.
"We couldn't play croquet?" Julia asked.
"We will," Beckett said. "But that's in the future."
"You're eager?" Castle asked her.
"Yeah, I already talked to my friends about it," Julia said. "They're okay with dressing in costumes."
"Even the boys?" Castle said with a smile.
"Even them," Julia replied. "I did tell them what kind of outfit they'd have to wear but they didn't care; it was for a party."
"Then they want their cake," Castle told his wife.
Beckett nodded but she was watching their daughter at the same time as she'd noticed that Julia was looking a little uncertain. "What is it sweetie?" she asked her.
Breathing out a little hard, Julia said, "Could I get a cake that's decorated like…"
"Art Deco?" Castle suggested as she was having trouble finishing that.
Nodding rapidly, Julia said, "It would go with the thirties theme wouldn't it?"
"It would," Beckett said. "And we'll keep that in mind. Now-"
"It can't be time to go to bed," Julia said in protest.
"You didn't let me finish," Beckett told her with a smile.
"Sorry," Julia said, unable to help laughing softly.
"Now you should brush your teeth," Beckett said.
"I did," Julia said with a nod.
"Before you wrote in your diary?" Castle asked in surprise. When she nodded rapidly, he looked at his wife and said, "Huh."
Shaking her head as she was smiling, Beckett turned her attention back to Julia and said, "Then what do you want to do now?"
"Still talk," the girls replied, smiling at them. "But I wanted to ask if you're okay Mom," Julia then told her.
"I am," Beckett said, knowing immediately her daughter was talking about that Saturday. "And you don't need to keep asking me."
"They're probably going to love," Castle told his wife with a smile.
Julia shared a smile with her father at her mother literally letting out a huff of air and she hugged her. "We just want you to be happy," she explained to her.
"And you're excited about your mom being in the video," Castle added. He smiled when Julia was nodding rapidly before he added, "So am I."
"I hope you are," Julia told him. She then said to her mom, "Are you sure you want us to go?"
"I'm sure," Beckett said. "Though I'm wondering if we should," she said to her husband.
"You said," Castle replied, holding up his hands. He then said, "I'll watch them Kate, especially Josie."
"And Lizzy will be good," Julia then said. "She told me she will be, so she doesn't have to leave or anything."
"Good to know," Castle said with a smile at his wife before they were laughing together. When they'd stopped Julia was looking at them both and suddenly smiling, taking him aback before she suddenly jumped off the bed and rushed to her desk.
"What's that?" Beckett asked with a slight frown.
"Oh no, whose is that?" Castle asked as he recognized the book she was bringing.
"Mom's," Julia said with a wide smile.
"Is that one of my photo albums?" Beckett said then before Julia was standing in front of them. She quickly discerned it was from when she was three to five and groaned saying, "Really sweetie?"
"You don't mind," Julia told her as she was smiling. "You called me sweetie."
"Smart aleck," Beckett said, playfully pinching her shoulder. "Go ahead and start." She was suddenly laughing as her husband and their daughter were looking at her in surprise and she said, "I know I'm not going to be able to stop you guys so we might as well start."
"Okay," Julia said eagerly before she was making her mother scoot over so she would be between herself and Castle. "Thanks," she then said, smiling again before turning her attention to the photo album and opening the cover. After the blank page she came to four photos, smiling at her mother's exaggerated sigh, knowing it was because of her clothes.
"You don't look that bad Kate," Castle told his wife. "At least your parents never put you in bell bottoms."
"Because by the time I was at the age to wear pants they were out of style," Beckett said wryly. She looked down at their daughter who was giggling, and she playfully pinched her shoulder before Julia was starting to speak and still laughing softly.
"I think it's cool to look at," the girl said.
"Would you want to wear that kind of shirt?" Castle asked, as Beckett's in the picture was striped in red, yellow and blue with a red collar.
"No," Julia said. "But you couldn't make me 'cause you'd never find one like that."
"Hey, let me find the nearest thrift store…" Castle started to say, laughing when his wife nudged his side and Julia was sticking her tongue out at him.
"Keep going sweetie," Beckett told the girl. "We'll be here all night going through this."
"Do you think we'll be able to look through this whole thing?" Castle asked as it was a thicker album.
"No, but if we keep talking we're not going to be able to look at anything," Beckett replied.
"I'm turning the page," Julia said quickly. She smiled at one of the pictures on the two pages and said, "Do you remember anything at all with these pictures?"
"Not really," Beckett replied. "I was only three," she said as she watched her second oldest taking one out from its sleeve. "I really don't remember that," she added with a smile since the picture was of her in her father's arms next to a horse in Central Park she should tell.
"I'm surprised your mom isn't the one holding you," Castle replied.
"You'd have to ask my dad about the circumstances," Beckett replied. "But he's okay with horses."
"That's true," Castle said because he knew his father in law was. After Julia put the picture back, he watched her turning the page again and smiled before he said, "Your parents took you around a lot."
"Of course," Beckett said as there were a few pictures on those two pages of her at an apple orchard. "I was their only child; you didn't do that with Alexis?"
"I did," Castle said. "And you did that with Julia."
"I did," Beckett replied, leaning over and kissing the top of their daughter's head.
"Mom," Julia said with a soft laugh. She turned the page and looked at the pictures with her parents until they came to one of her fourth birthday.
"I sort of remember this," Beckett said, trying not to laugh when her husband and their daughter turned to her.
"Did you do that much?" Castle asked her.
"Not really, I was only turning four," Beckett said in amusement. "I just had friends over from Kindergarten and we played some games and had that cake." She smiled at Julia when her daughter was leaning against her and she asked, "What're you thinking?"
"Just that I wish Grandmama was here for our birthdays now," Julia said hesitatingly. "Sorry Mom."
"No, that's okay," Beckett told her quickly. "I'm thinking the same thing myself." She hugged her quickly before they were turning their attention to the next page and went through a few more before her daughter stopped. "That's Coney Island," she told her.
"I know," Julia said, having recognized the Cyclone. "Your fifth birthday?"
"It was," Beckett said. "That I remember even more, I felt extremely grown up going somewhere else for my party. Since I knew we'd stayed at home before that year. But it wasn't the greatest party."
"Why?" Castle asked, as in the pictures there were of the party she seemed happy.
"I tried to win a stuffed animal at one of the games and never did," Beckett said. "Now remember I was only five."
"No, that makes sense," Castle replied.
"I'd be upset too," Julia told her mother. "Keep going?" she asked. She smiled when her parents told her yes at the same time and she turned her attention back to the book and turned the page again. She turned the page again before she spotted one photo and she was about to ask her mother about it when she was speaking first.
"It was Easter," Beckett said with a smile. "And Mom told me when I was older that this one was the last time she could dress me like that."
"Did she?" Castle asked in surprise.
"She did," Beckett said. "I was six and knew what I wanted."
Julia giggled and when she noticed her parents were looking at her told them, "Lizzy sounds a lot like you now."
"She is," Castle said. When he looked at his wife he said, "Your dad has told me about you." He then smiled as she narrowed her eyes at him and told her, "Not much but he does say Eliza is like you; Josie too."
"Grandpapa told me that too," Julia said. When her parents turned to her she said, "He's said the same about me too."
"Of course; you're all like your mom," Castle said.
"What?" Beckett asked as he suddenly became serious.
"That's… bad?" Julia said slowly.
"No," Castle said quickly. "Sorry, I was just going to point out that Alexis is a lot like you too Kate, past life or no."
Beckett was quiet for a moment before she then said, "I noticed."
"Does 'lexis realize?" Julia asked her mother as she leaned a little more against her.
"She does," Beckett said, smiling at her husband. "We talked about it once a while back. But do you want to keep looking at pictures?"
"Yes," Julia said with a soft laugh. She turned the page but then asked her mother, "What about us?"
"What about you guys?" Castle asked, knowing she meant herself and her sister.
"You're not going to dress Josie that fancy or anything are you?" Julia asked.
"Why are you looking at me?" Beckett asked her husband when he'd immediately done that.
"Because," Castle said.
Rolling her eyes Beckett said, "We won't," stressing the word we while she looked pointedly at her husband. She laughed and shook her head when he raised his hands and said, "Keep going sweetie, you have a little more time."
Nodding rapidly, Julia turned the page and they looked at a few more of them before they stopped, and she sighed as her father took the photo album off Beckett's lap. "It was great today," she told her mother after she'd hugged and kissed the tops of Macca and JoJo's heads.
"I know," Beckett replied.
"They are happy to be back right?" Julia asked her mother as she sat up on the bed.
"They are," Castle reassured her as he sat next to her and kissed her before they embraced. "Night Julia, I love you."
"I love you too Dad," Julia replied with a wide smile. "Night." She watched as her parents switched places and smiled again for her saying, "I love you Mom, night."
"Good night sweetie," Beckett replied, pressing her lips to her forehead. She and her daughter shared a brief kiss before she said, "I love you too Julia." She stood up and tucked her daughter in carefully before she and Castle made their way over to the doorway. She was watching Julia as he turned off the lights and she smiled at her husband when he took her hand and let him lead her down the hall to their bedroom.
Walking out of the bathroom as he put on his glasses, Castle said, "Kate," as he'd intended to bring something up with his wife about the next day. When he got no answer, he walked around to his side of the bed to find that she was waking up. "Sorry," he told her quickly, feeling bad.
"That's okay," Beckett said, sitting up and putting her phone on the nightstand. "What is it?"
"I'm wondering about tomorrow," Castle said. He wasn't surprised when his wife looked at him in confusion and was going to explain what he meant when she spoke first.
"I thought we were planning to write," Beckett told him.
"I was thinking of changing that," Castle told her.
"Okay," Beckett said, to let him know she was listening.
"What if we went riding," Castle said.
"After we take the girls to school?" Beckett asked as her husband was getting onto the bed then.
"No, after we watch Sesame Street with Josie," Castle clarified.
"That won't take very long," Beckett said simply.
"It could," Castle replied. When his wife just stared at him, he said, "We can take lunch."
"Alright," Beckett said. She couldn't help laughing softly when her husband looked at her in surprise and she told him, "I like the idea; plus Dad and your mom can spend that time with Josie."
"Hopefully they'll be okay with it," Castle said.
"They should be," Beckett said, turning to her husband and pressing against him. She was startled when he suddenly hissed and she asked, "What?"
"Your feet are freezing," Castle told her. "No wonder, you didn't cover yourself."
"I wasn't expecting to sleep," Beckett said quickly as she was reaching for her husband to stop him from moving off the bed.
"The fire," Castle said.
Shaking her head Beckett told him, "We'll be fine."
"How… will…" Castle started to say before he was trailing off as she'd gotten on her knees next to him and was pulling off her NYPD t-shirt.
"How will what?" Beckett asked him teasingly while she moved to stand next to the bed.
Breathing out; and surprised he wasn't outright wheezing at the sight of her body as she'd removed her pajama pants and panties at the same time; Castle said, "I think you answered me before I could ask." He took off his shirt while she was getting onto the bed, moving to undress as fast as he could before he went back onto the mattress and they were laying down. He had the covers in his hand at the same time and once they were laying on their sides he leaned over and kissed her lightly on the lips before they slowly parted. "I didn't really plan on anything," he confessed to her.
"No, but I think we should try something to warm up," Beckett told him.
Castle leaned over and kissed her again though he was a little harder that time before he slowly pulled away. Smiling at her he said, "Just hold each other?"
Unable to help it, Beckett laughed softly before she told him, "Is that really all you want?"
Nuzzling the side of her head with his lips, Castle told her, "No, but I'm worried about us tomorrow."
"We'll be able to ride," Beckett said. She then gave a heavy, exaggerated sigh before she moved slightly pushing away the covers and making her husband lay on his back.
"Kate?" Castle asked her in surprise.
"Don't," Beckett said immediately, straddling him as he watched. She gently rocked her sex against his length before she told him, "Please let us do this."
Pushing himself up, Castle wrapped his arms around his wife before they were gently kissing and once they'd parted, he told her, "Just once? I don't want you to be sore or anything."
"Alright," Beckett replied before they moved to kiss each other deeply. Once they'd parted, she smiled and said, "I want us to make love."
Groaning heavily, Castle was holding onto the small of her back tightly and told her, "I will." When she smiled, he shuddered in joy before they were kissing yet again. It didn't last long since they were moving to get his erection inside of her and once she was settled on him, he held her tightly telling her, "You're so fucking tight love," breathing out hard. "And so wet…"
"Undressing?" Beckett asked him teasingly.
"Oh… really?" Castle asked.
Brushing her lips against her husband's, Beckett told him, "Yes really," and then proceeded to move on him. She was thrusting her hips back and forth, both reacting immediately as it seemed to be a jolt of pleasure. She had her arms wrapped around her husband's neck, leaning against him before they were kissing hungrily. He ran his hands around her body she could feel, and she was nearly trembling in her joy before she made him pull away.
"What's wrong…" Castle groaned, trailing off because he was already throbbing heavily though they hadn't been moving for very long.
Beckett caressed his cheek before she watched him bow his head while he leaned down to her breasts. She moaned softly in pleasure when he brushed his lips against her mounds, leading her to hold onto the back of his head before he was suckling at her. When he eventually stopped and pulled away, she was going to begin moving again when her husband was flipping them around. "Oh! I didn't think you wanted to start that so soon," she said with a smile as they were adjusting themselves.
"It seemed like it was time," Castle replied. He waited for her to wrap her legs around his waist before he said, "You don't want to do this faster?"
"You can if you'd like," Beckett said, wrapping her arms then around him tightly. "I'll let you decide."
"Thank you," Castle said before he kissed her. They were tangling their tongues together for a while and he was slightly moving within her a few times before he felt her nails digging into his back.
"Please start," Beckett breathed out heavily, having felt like he'd teased her.
With a rapid nod, Castle moved back so he could use his arms on the bed to help his thrusting. Starting out a little slowly at first, he was swift to begin moving harder which he quickly did before he felt her moving with him. They were groaning at the same time their hips were slapping and he lost himself in his rhythm.
Crying out when her husband was ramming into her body, Beckett was holding onto him and her self control almost desperately since the stimulation was intense. Their friction was rough, and she was surprised when it felt like it took a little longer than it should have to reach her orgasm. But all thought of that flew out the window when she was going through being repeatedly slammed with bursts of ecstasy that felt like they weren't going to stop. That was magnified when her husband was climaxing as well, and she was digging her nails into his back again as the sensation of him filling her doubly was almost too much. But she eventually calmed down and was sated below Castle while he thrust a few more times before she breathed out as he was limp on her though keeping his weight off her.
Castle was breathing roughly while he was recovering, his face pressed against her neck. When he felt a little stronger, he moved away so he could look down at her asking, "Warmer?"
Smiling, Beckett nodded as she knew what he was going to do next, and she waited for him to withdraw from her. She had to wait a little longer as he wasn't laying down immediately, instead grabbing the covers to bring them over them again while he went onto his back. As soon as he was settled, she pressed against his side saying, "Would you have stopped me?" with another smile.
"I don't think I really could have," Castle told her. "And you didn't give me much of a chance."
"Oh, now you're complaining," Beckett told him in amusement.
"Not complaining," Castle said, running his hand over his wife's back before his fingers rested on her side near her breast.
"You want to do this again?" Beckett asked.
"Part of me does," Castle told her seriously. "But don't worry, that'll go away."
Nodding, Beckett pressed a kiss to his shoulder before she relaxed against him again and cuddled a little closer. "Did you want to make love out there?" she asked him.
Castle hesitated for a moment, not sure if he really wanted to answer that before he told her, "I would have liked the option to be available to us," bracing himself for her reaction.
"Good," Beckett said. She laughed softly when her husband was looking at her in surprise and explained, "I don't mind it, but you better hope no one comes by that building if we end up going in there."
"We're not," Castle said after watching her for a moment. He wasn't startled at her surprise and explained, "I just realized that's a horrible place to take you."
"I don't mind Rick; we've done that there before," Beckett said gently.
Shaking his head firmly, Castle told her, "We're going to fool around in the shower."
"Okay," Beckett said in amusement. "I get the feeling you won't change your mind," she told him before he could say anything.
"I didn't really want to," Castle said. "Though that's if we even do anything."
"We probably will," Beckett said in amusement. She leaned up and kissed at his jaw a few times before saying, "Remember I don't mind Rick."
"I'm not thinking that clearly right now," Castle told her.
"Well, not with your brain," Beckett said teasingly. She shared a kiss with him before they parted and she told him, "You know we better get some sleep."
"Yeah," Castle replied. He then said, "You know I didn't mean leave right after we're done watching the show with her right?"
"I figured," Beckett told him. She then said, "But are you sure about this weekend?"
"Very, I have reservations and everything so…" Castle said slowly. "You don't want to go anywhere else?"
"No, that's fine," Beckett told him with a smile. "We haven't been to Cirque for a while."
"It's why I called when you told me Skye said it was a Saturday," Castle replied. "Though I have to confess I'm glad it'll just be the two of us."
"Of course, pervert," Beckett told him in amusement. She shared a kiss with him again before she told him, "But it'll be nice."
"We're still going to Tahiti," Castle said immediately.
Laughing outright, Beckett told him, "Yes, and you're still a pervert."
"I try," Castle replied before he was laughing when she pinched his side lightly. "But I just want to make sure you want to do both."
"I'm not going to say no," Beckett replied. "Also, I don't think the girls would be that happy if we said we weren't doing either."
"Neither would I," Castle said, smiling when he saw his wife rolling her eyes. He couldn't resist and he gently kissed her before telling her, "But at least they weren't that mad we can't stop in Mill Valley."
"Luckily there's the concert," Beckett said.
Looking down at her, Castle said, "You wouldn't want to go if there wasn't a concert?"
Shifting a little, Beckett said, "I… to be honest I don't know. I mean it's great to get to go there alone but…"
"You want to come back here to the girls," Castle finished for her. When she nodded, he said, "I don't blame you; I'm the same way. But let's wait and see if we'd like to go next year instead."
Beckett smiled and said, "Thank you."
Castle merely nodded before he kissed her forehead and then told her, "I'm so glad you pushed me to write so much more."
Laughing softly, Beckett gently kissed his chest before she told him, "We're going to need to on Wednesday. And I'm surprised at you." When she saw he was looking down at her she told him, "We're on the love scene you know."
"Yes, but you want to take it easy," Castle told her.
"I'm not going to go into too much with the first one," Beckett replied in amusement. "We can do that later on."
"How much later," Castle said though he knew what her response would be.
"We'll see as we go," Beckett said firmly. She then kissed his jaw before he turned his head down to her so they could kiss gently before they parted and she was saying, "I love you Rick."
Though he was disappointed in hearing that; knowing she was ending things for the night; Castle was aware she was right, and they needed to sleep. "I love you too Kate," he told her seriously before they were sharing a kiss. They started out gently, but they were soon moving to kiss deeply before they were breathless. When they were parting, he said, "Night my love."
"Night," Beckett said with a smile. She moved slightly so she could get comfortable and said, "We might take a nap tomorrow."
Tensing for a moment, as he knew that didn't mean she wanted to sleep, Castle did his best to recover so he could tell her, "Sounds like a great idea." He was a little surprised she didn't call him a pervert for that but knew why too before he wrapped his arm around her a little tighter to hold her more firmly to his side. He kissed her forehead and settled down to sleep as he knew she was doing against him.
Closing her eyes, Beckett let her body relax though she couldn't help thinking of the next day. She wasn't sure what she and her husband would do, but the thought of doing anything with him was influencing her dreams heavily and she slept peacefully with her husband's arms tight around her through the rest of the night.
