Looking down at Bella, hair dripping, eyes slightly red from the sea water and the happiest smile I'd ever seen on her face, showed me once more why I loved her so much.

It was so easy being with her. Like breathing.

When I was with her, everything made sense. Everything life had thrown at me, this whole werewolf thing and the constant fight against the blood suckers was so much easier to bear when she was at my side.

She cocked her head. "Everything alright?" I must have stared at her for too long. I smiled and kissed her wet, salty lips. "Everything's perfect."

Although I had been a little disappointed that she wore a bathing suit instead of a bikini, I had to admit it suited her. I knew she saw herself as plain and not very interesting but in this she was totally wrong. The wet bathing suit clung tightly to her body, showing everything as clearly as if she had been naked. Which put too many images in my head...

"Come on; let's get a bit further out." I took her hand and dragged her along, away from the boys and Sam and Emily. I wanted to spend some time alone with my girlfriend and without watching eyes. We swam along the shore until we came to a very small bay, just enough for two people to sit on the sand.

The voices had ebbed down, the waves and the occasional seagulls were the only sounds as we sat down, side by side, watching the ocean. Waves were rolling on the sand, circling our feet. Bella had found a small shell and was playing around with it, drawing patterns in the sand, watching the waves sweep it away.

She looked deeply in thoughts.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"Don't know... Lots of things." She shrugged. "Can't really put them to words."

"Always the mysterious one I see." I put a strand of wet hair behind her ear. "Wanna know what I'm thinking about?"

"Probably something way more interesting than I do." She joked and threw the shell in the ocean. It didn't get very far, and I had to laugh. "We should definitely work on your throwing skills."

"Yeah, of course if you had thrown the shell it would be somewhere across the horizon by now."

"Maybe. But that's not what I was thinking about."

"So? What were you thinking about?"

"Well, I was thinking about...this" I bent down to kiss her, gently at first but soon the kiss became more passionate. I stabilized her with an arm around her back while I lowered her to the ground so I could look down on her. All the while we never interrupted our kiss. Bella's hands had already begun to travel and to explore. I could feel them, cool and wet across my back, my shoulders and all the way down to my hips. I had to put tights reins on myself, considering Bella wore almost nothing today. I could feel her every muscle moving, her every bone, her every curve. Just for a few moments I traced the outlines of her hips down to her legs and up again. I let my hand rest on her stomach, moving it up inch by inch. With my mouth I kissed her nose, her cheeks, her forehead, her neck... It was as if my body had found a will of its own. My mind screamed at me to be careful, but I couldn't stop.

My hand had moved up until it was at the underside of her breast and when I touched her lightly with my thumb, she sighed and threw her head back. It was pure bliss.

Her reaction had made me brave and maybe a bit bold because now I began tracing a trail from her neck across to her shoulders with my lips. I put the strap aside and kissed my way down until I was at the hem of her bathing suit. Bella had buried her hands in the sand and moaned once more, the sweetest sound I'd ever hear.

Slowly, I kissed my way down, bringing the bathing suit a little down and then some more...

"JAKE!"

The sound of my name was enough to bring me out of my clouded state. Confused I looked down at Bella if it had been her who had called for me to stop but she seemed as startled as I was. "What's happened?"

I stood up, looking around to see who had called. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Bella re-arranging her bathing suit but neither did she seem embarrassed, nor did she blush. Progress?

"JAKE, COME BACK, NOW!"

I could hear that it was Sam who called me. I frowned and looked down at Bella, worry rising in me. Sam wouldn't call me back for no reason.

"We should go back", I said, very disappointed. It had just gone so well. It had felt like she was finally opening up and now this.

As if she had felt my distress, Bella walked right up to me, took one hand, and placed a small kiss on it. "Don't worry", she replied, rising up to her toes so she could kiss me. "There will be other times."

The sentence alone gave me enough hope that I even managed a small smile. "I love you Bells." I put my forehead against hers and for a few moments there was just us. "And I love you Jake."

So, so much
