Chapter Forty-One: The Unsettling Calm
Undisclosed Bar
"I'm bored..." muttered Shigaraki.
"Brat, we're still low on numbers."
"Gentlemen... if I may suggest. What about the Hero Killer?" asked Kurogiri as he was cleaning up some glasses.
Bloodgash had to look at Kurogiri, wondering if he was thinking straight, saying: "One little problem, how do you know he'll join us?"
"What makes you think he won't consider?"
The scarred mercenary points to the pink elephant, if said elephant never used chapstick, which said elephant got a bit pissy about.
"Oh, fuck you! A thousand times fuck you!"
"See...?"
Shigaraki just flipped him off, but Bloodgash continued. "Call it a hunch, but I worked with and against fanatic soldiers during my time in the Golden Triangle. Trust me, they're useful at times but they bring more trouble than they're worth."
"The hell you worked with...?"
"Mercs... here's a small story."
Chiang Saen District, Thailand
A still-scarred Bloodgash was doing a menial task: security for a cargo ship. A cargo ship full of Trigger, specifically the Triad version called Juexing Long. He wonders what's so different about this shipment.
"Oi, Bloodgash. We need to be on guard," said one of the guards, named Switchblade because of his Quirk: the ability to generate small blades from any point of his body. However, there's another reason for it.
"Yea yea, don't get your panties in a twist, Jersey."
Switchblade was a cage fighter from New Jersey who got into debt with a ton of bad people. However, there was the issue: he was always obsessed with fighting and dominating the enemy, even if there was a different priority.
"It's Switchblade, Scarface!"
"You're getting too hyped up, it's a simple drop-off mission."
"Yea, but it belongs to the 20K Syndicate. One of the big players in Hong Kong's underworld."
"...We're going crossing the border into enemy territory, are we?" Bloodgash deadpanned.
"Yup. Dragon Eye's turf."
Bloodgash had to pinch the bridge of his nose, Dragon Eye was a warlord in all but name; He did have a sizeable militia by his side though, ex-insurgents or military deserters.
"Great, that territorial asshole..."
"Oh, come on. Think of it as a golden opportunity to eliminate the bastard once and for all!"
"There's a time and place for everything, Jersey. This..." as the scarred merc pointed out. "...isn't one of those times. Get that through your fucking skull."
Switchblade flipped him off.
"This Switchblade merc, sounds too rowdy for us."
"I'll give credit where credit is due, the bastard was a great sandbag when it came to sparring."
Shigaraki was actually quiet, listening to this story, disagreed with Switchblade though. In his eyes, he sounded like the perfect front-line attacker.
"Unfortunately, he turned out to be right..."
BOOM! BOOM!
Bloodgash heard a few explosions, kicking himself, realizing that Switchblade was right. He quickly saw a few militia fighters, he can tell by the dragon-like insignias on their faces, they were Dragon Eye's boys AKA the Emerald Dragon Militia.
However, these were small fries.
The scarred merc grabbed his assault rifle, firing upon them from the safety within the ship.
"Fuck! Fuck!"
Two were taken down, but a few more were scaling onto the ship, now forcing him to resort to his pistol and his Quirk...
"Dammit..."
Bloodgash's eyes were widened for a bit, but he turned the tide...
BLAM!
BLAM!
BLAM!
That's three down, the merc thought. However, five more appeared from the right side. He only had four bullets left, but they're coming in close... especially the big guy who looks like a bodybuilder more than a soldier.
SLASH!
'That's one limb down.'
The large militiaman clutched his arm in pain, screaming, prompting his four comrades to pause for a few moments. Big mistake.
BLAM!
The skinny one on the merc's left was sent flying by an uppercut! The two others were caught off guard by Bloodgash's speed, but they were taken out by two bullets to the head.
The last one tried getting a shot off.
BAM!
A fast roundhouse kick was sent into the last one, breaking his arm!
CRACK!
The militia giant witnessed it, the scarred merc caved in his skull with just one punch! No, cave-in would be an understatement, the merc shattered his skull like it was made of glass.
"And then there was one..."
The militia giant, still in pain, begged to be let go, saying they wouldn't bother them-
"You're gonna send a message."
"A-A-Anything, y-you name it!"
Bloodgash pulled out twin knives, putting on a smile that would fit a butcher, "I know."
Whirlwind Massacre!
"The best part, you won't feel a thing."
Shigaraki was backing away a bit, realizing Bloodgash was sadistic when he needed to.
"Wait, whatever happened to Switchblade?"
"Oh, I'm getting to that."
As Switchblade managed to climb back up to where Bloodgash was, fighting off militia, he saw the most horrifying thing: A former human? He thinks it was a human, but it was butchered, almost as if predators were unleashed upon him.
"Goddamn? You really did that? Well, fine by me. More militia to fight!" said Switchblade, excited at the prospect.
"No, we abandon ship. This contract's a bust."
Switchblade's eye twitched a bit, saying: "The fuck did you say?"
"Abandon. Ship."
"No, I came for a fight, and you of all people are gonna jump ship because it's a bit too tough for you~"
"...Are you serious?"
"We finish the mission!"
"By finish, you mean... fighting the rest of the militia. You fucking idiot, there are two of us, and at least several squads of them!"
"I don't care, I get to enjoy it!"
Bloodgash had to think about this, he could just kill this prick and get the rest of his paycheck, or... there was another option. Yea...this can work.
"You know what, why not?"
Switchblade was surprised that he agreed but went along with it. As they got off the ship, they surveyed the carnage, the escort team was found dead...along with many dead militiamen.
"Holy shit..."
"Stragglers likely..." said Bloodgash as he walked over to one of the gun-for-hires, bleeding out, but he was still hanging on.
STOMP!
"The fuck?!"
"They're dying, Jersey. And most of all, dead weight."
He found three others in a dying state, quickly ending them, shocking Switchblade. However, he saw that a few militiamen were prepping to retreat back to base.
"Hey, Jersey. Look over there," Bloodgash said, pointing out a militia squad. The young merc's eyes widened, now taking advantage of this opportunity to unload his assault rifle despite the fact that he has half a clip left.
BLAM!
Switchblade felt the world stop, slowly looking at where he was shot. In the leg.
"You...you...fuck!"
"You call it betrayal, I call it damage control, Jersey," Bloodgash said with finality. He then grabbed a spare pistol from Switchblade's holster, firing off in the direction where the squad was.
"You fucking-"
"Hey, it's a two-in-one deal. I get to escape while you get to fight the militia, just a bit handicapped at the moment," Bloodgash said with a smirk. "Besides, your reckless attitude was gonna get you killed...I just sped up the process."
Switchblade was screaming, saying all sorts of curses at him, saying karma's gonna come for him, but Bloodgash ignored it. He was a survivor, no one else can take that away from him. It was also a step closer to finding that bastard too...
"Y-Y-You're a bastard of the highest fucking order!" near-yelled Kurogiri, displeased that the merc left his comrade behind like that.
"I call it being pragmatic, plus I did grant that guy's last wish..."
"Young Tomura, you cannot agree-"
"Hmm... Switchblade sounded great for an attacker, but his battle-lust would make him less valuable, more disposable at best. Not great in the long run, I get it..." Shigaraki said, understanding Bloodgash's tale.
"Okay, it's time."
"Time for what?"
"Our first real sparring session," answered Bloodgash with a grin underneath the mask.
UA High
It was a new morning, but for two students...it was a continuation of yesterday. Momo and Mina were in Recovery Girl's office, getting a second check-up to see if the wounds healed up.
"Dearies, both of you should be fine. However, I don't want you fighting anymore. Understood?"
"Yes, Recovery Girl," droned both Yaoyorozu and Ashido.
"Good, now git."
Jirou and Midoriya were waiting outside the office, making sure they prevent the two girls from fighting again, but the latter hoped that Mina wasn't gonna try again. As the both of them went out, with fewer bandages, they stared each other down...glaring.
"Ashido, you just got out...it's not worth it."
"Momo, do not, I MEAN, do not do it."
"Fine," both say. The rocker and the green-haired kid both sigh in relief as they accompany the two, all while keeping a fair distance between them.
"Midori, I'll still keep my promise. So don't worry too much."
Midoriya was somewhat doubtful but decided to trust Ashido's word.
The other pair had a more interesting conversation, Momo in fact noticed that Jirou was blushing for a bit, causing her to ask: "Hmm...? Something's clearly made you happy?"
"O-O-Oh, well... funny thing, it actually happened after I dropped you off."
"Interesting. Well, we have some time."
"Okay, this is what happened..."
Denon City
Last Night...
"Okay, Momo. Remember, you're gonna go to Recovery Girl for a second check-up. And...please...please..." Jirou said, pleadingly. "Don't cause a fight with Ashido again."
Momo actually took the time to think about that...
"Momo, I'm going to jab you," Jirou said, ear-jacks at the ready.
"Okay, okay! I, Momo Yaoyorozu, will not provoke Ashido the next time."
"...that's a good start."
As she said her goodbyes, she realized that she had some time to kill, might as well take the scenic route home. Jirou realized that Denon City was wealthy person central to a degree, composed of mansions in the suburbs and apartments she would never afford.
As she was walking, she didn't take notice of three separate voices coming towards her way.
"...And that's how I managed to piss off Shindo by throwing his ass out-"
OOF!
Jirou fell to the ground, back-first, realizing that the person she bumped into was taller than her by quite a bit.
"Gakuto, you really need to watch where you're going," said one voice, deadpan.
"Oh-Oh-Oh, c-crap. I-I-I apologize on his behalf, miss!" said a stuttering voice.
Jirou was getting her thoughts back, now seeing where the figure was staring...
JAB!
"Gah!"
JAB!
"Gah! I'm sorry!"
JAB!
"You better be!" near-yelled Jirou who was blushing in embarrassment.
"Shunli, Gakuto," deadpanned the first voice.
"Go fuck a toaster, Ren," said the now-named Gakuto.
"Zài yīcì, wǒ hěn bàoqiàn!" said the other voice again.
Jirou got up, dusting her skirt off, and then got a better look at the three. The one called Ren was dark-skinned, black-haired with a small white streak through it, but it looked combed back.
The other one looked like a pretty boy with stylized red hair but the one thing that made him stand out: a single braided plait that's been looped around the left side of his head. The fact that he was shy killed the pretty boy image in her eyes.
The one known as Gakuto was actually the most ordinary-looking of all. Light-brown hair which looked a bit wavy, brown eyes, and well, he had a leather jacket with a white condor silhouette.
However, this was the first thing that came out of her mouth, "Wait, do all of you speak Chinese?"
"Yup. But we did not learn it in high school...well, not this country's schools," responded Ren.
Jirou put the pieces together, answering "So...are you from China?"
"Technically raised there, this guy...Kabuto..." Ren stated, face drooping into a grimace. "She's not gonna bite. Kabu...seriously?"
The rocker saw the red-head pretty boy hiding behind a bench, making her think of one of her classmates, Koda to be specific.
"Okay, this is Kabuto Nakamura. Painfully shy. Me? Name's Renato Kanki or Ren for short," responded Ren in a matter-of-fact tone. "To answer your question, we're from Shura-Kokka. A territory under China's supervision."
"Shura-Kokka...that name sounds a bit familiar?" questioned Jirou, wondering if she heard it somewhere prior. "What's his story?" asked Jirou, pointing out the last one.
"Oh, I'm actually half-Chinese."
"The other half?"
"British actually."
That caught her off-guard for a moment, prompting her to ask more questions.
"Yup. Fuqin was Chinese while Mum was British."
However, the shy one that was Kabuto did speak up for a bit. "T-T-Transfer from a-a-a school in Shura-Kokka, Sishou Academy to K-K-Ketsubutsu."
"Wait, are you training to be hero-"
Gakuto cut her off, saying: "General Studies actually."
Now that, that caught her off-guard, but the guy beat her to the punch. "Anyway, if there's a way to make it up to you, here are a few tickets."
Jirou is handed a few tickets, then gets a good look at them, surprised for a bit.
COMING VERY SOON!
A NEW ACT THIS YEAR!
BAND NAME: SAN SOUTHERN STAR!
VENUE: Xing Huisheng Lounge
"San...Southern Star? Is this your debut?"
"Not exactly... we had some small gigs here and there," explained Gakuto. "However, we think this might be our big break this year."
"I hope you make it, it's never easy..." Jirou said, remembering how her parents were like as musicians.
"Feel free to invite a few friends, it's the best I can do after apologizing to a cutie such as yourself."
Jirou's face was red as Momo's hero costume once hearing that, sputtering: "Y-Y-You s-stop that! O-Or I-I'll-"
"Well, hope to see ya."
As the three left, Jirou said from a distance, "Wait, what was your name again?"
The brown-haired boy turned around briefly, then answered: "Gakuto."
The rocker nods in confirmation.
"Ok, boys. Let's bounce."
"Hǎo ba, lǎobǎn," responded Renato who motioned for Kabuto to come along too.
As the group waves goodbye, Jirou looks at the tickets, thinking to herself, 'San Southern Star, creative band name though.'
U.A. High
"A flirt who apologized..." Momo said, albeit in a bit of disbelief. "This automatically puts him above Mineta."
"...Still wish he hadn't peeked."
"That was an accident and he apologized, he doesn't sound like a bad guy."
"...I know," Jirou said, blushing still.
"I'm actually surprised Ketsubutsu Academy had a General Studies program."
"Me too."
"If anything, this sounds like one of my romance novels."
Jiro blushed a bit more but had her ear jacks at the ready.
"Stop. It."
"And there lies the foundation of a crush..." Momo said with a bit of teasing on her part.
As they were talking, Izuku overheard for a bit, but Mina pulled his attention for a moment.
"Today's the day..."
"I agree...I heard that Mirko is a tough hero, being a solo act entirely."
"All the more reason I'm glad to intern with her!" Mina replied with vigor. "I did hear things about Edgeshot."
"The rumors of him being related to some clan of assassins?" Izuku asked innocently.
"Hey!" pouted Mina. "Okay... yea~" she responded with a cheeky grin.
"That sounds like something out of an anime, an action-based one."
"Or hack-and-slash game!"
"Oh, we got to make it to homeroom in a few minutes!"
The four hurried themselves to homeroom, beating Aizawa by a few minutes, but they noticed Iida sitting by himself, not being himself. He was sullen, not even doing his hand motions. However, once the four went inside, Iida stared and glared at Midoriya for a brief moment and then turned away.
"What's with him?" Mina asked, noticing the vice class rep's brief glare.
"...it's a long story. One I'll explain later."
The reason appears in front, Aizawa at his desk, waiting.
"Okay, I believe it's time for everyone to head down to the train station..."
Tokyo Station
"Does everyone have their costumes?" Aizawa asked the entirety of 1-A.
"Yessir!" exclaimed Mina.
"Be professional, Ashido," scolded Aizawa. "Just a reminder, you're prohibited to wear your costumes UNLESS you're given express permission by the hero you're interning with. Still, make sure you do not drop them anywhere."
Aizawa just waved them off.
All of 1-A separated into their own groups as many of them would be heading in the same direction or even the same agency. However, Izuku saw Tenya in his view, the latter walking away from him.
"Iida?" asked a female voice, making the blue-haired boy turn around, facing Yaoyorozu. He was clenching his fist in anger, snarling, saying...
"You...You had no right to do that."
"Vice Rep-"
"I understand what you're trying to do, but here's my answer..." Iida stated. His voice hardened. "Do me a favor...and stay out of my life."
Iida turned and walked away after that, shocking Yaoyorozu, Uraraka, and even Midoriya to a degree.
"...I...can't...believe it."
"He's not well, but I can only hope that the hero he's interning with... can reason with him. Hopefully," Midoriya responded, hoping for the best. However, he knew deep down... Iida was gonna go after the Hero Killer.
"I guess we-"
"Wish each other well, I guess?" said Uraraka, unsure of how to progress.
The three split off but it seemed Yaoyorozu was tailing behind Midoriya, causing the latter to have these thoughts.
'Oh, come on! Now, she's tailing me?!'
He had the decency to look a bit annoyed but he truly hoped that they wouldn't be going on the same train. God forbid the same hero agency.
Train to Kursimo City
Izuku's eye twitched, looking at the raven-haired girl across him, trying to come up with words.
"Uh...heh...guess we're going to the same agency, I guess?" Yaoyorozu said, trying to ease the tension.
"Are you serious?!" the boy said, near-yelling.
"Well...I wanted to apolog-"
"Save it," Izuku said, halting her with a hand.
"B-But-"
"I said. Save it."
"...You're still angry, are you..." Yaoyorozu said, a bit quiet and ashamed?
"Yes. I am. But you know what? I'll be professional as possible..." Midoriya responded, albeit with a bit of coldness on that last part. "For the sake of this week."
"It's a start..." Momo said meekly. "I'm sorry for jump-"
"I just said. Save it."
The whole trip to the hero agency of their choice was a quiet one.
Battle Company Agency
A fairly fancy title for a humble-looking Hero Agency, it looks like a plain office building, but the stand-out thing? A plastic-looking turret on the top of the building. At the front door was Ochako Uraraka, a bit nervous.
"Remember what you are here for..." said the brunette to herself. "It's to expand your view as a hero, can't just be only a Rescue Hero..."
She exhaled to calm her nerves, then entered the door.
"Hello?"
"Ah, you must be Uraraka, right?" said a masked man with gray hair.
"Yes, I am! Pleased to meet you!" said a bowing Uraraka.
"Raise your head up, the name's Gunhead. Wait, Uraraka...?"
Uraraka nodded yes.
"Oh, right!" Gunhead said, face-palming himself. "I have an assistant instructor with the same name too! Well, he's been here for the better part of the month."
"W-W-Wait, does he have blond hair?"
Gunhead nodded.
"Round eyes? Shaved sides?"
"Yes to both."
"Big brother..." Uraraka revealed. "I thought he was off fighting in Singapore for an MMA promotion."
"I think his fighter nickname was the Fighting Pegasus...oh, right! Kiryu Uraraka!"
"Someone calls my name?" said a voice from the bathroom. Ochako faltered a bit, wondering if she heard things, but as soon as the door was opened. Fairly tall, lean but muscled, blonde hair like her father, slightly tanned skin, and most of all, rounded eyes like her.
"Ryu..!"
"Och-chan!"
The nickname all but confirmed it. She ran into his arms, but Uraraka's surprised by his strength as he lifts her up, saying: "I heard you're making it in the Pro Hero business, so I had to come back."
"Wait, what about your-"
"Oh, I'm on break right now. Plus won the Featherweight Championship recently, so that gives me some time. But still! I'm proud, little sis."
However, Uraraka also took notice of it too.
"You're strong! Like really strong!"
"Hey, I had to get into shape to fight, especially for the Featherweight belt."
Unbeknownst to both, Gunhead was gushing at this cute moment, what? He may look like a fierce soldier, but appreciated cute moments like this. It made his job as a Pro Hero all the more worth it.
Kushiba City
Ashido got off the train in Kushiba City. She was surprised by how long the train ride took, but once getting a good look at the city. It looked rustic, but the countryside provided a gigantic contrast.
"How far from Tokyo am I?"
Questions for later, she thought. She memorized the location and said no more about it.
A Few Minutes Later...
"Okay! Something seems off!"
She wasn't sure if this was a Hero Agency or a boxing gym. The whole building had this weathered warrior feel to it; it's chipping away but still stands strong in spite of it. It was three floors, and definitely triangular. The entrance in front of her being the only edge that was flat.
"Well, got nothing to lose then."
Knock! Knock!
Nothing.
Knock! Knock!
Nothing again.
Knock! Knock!
The door slightly tipped open, Mina had to slide in through the slight crack and to be polite, she closed the door with a bit of force. She took in the view, there was a front desk, but the whole place was composed of fight mats, punching bags, and to top it all off, an octagon cage...
"Okay... did I get the wrong place-"
"No... you didn't."
Mina quickly whipped around, but she was surprised by what was coming towards her!
A buff woman with rabbit ears sending out a fist! Right to her face!
WHAM!
Mina tried catching the punch by the wrist, but the rabbit hero's torque was way too much for her. She was stunned, but NOT OUT. The pink brawler spun around for a spinning back-fist, but missed!
She dodged efficiently!
'Mirko's reflexes aren't a joke!'
Luna Launch!
Mina felt a fast impact under her chin, but her world slowly went black.
.
.
.
SPLASH!
Mina jolted awake!
"Wh-What happened?"
"Well, you got knocked out by me," said the confident voice. As Mina got her bearings back, she got a good look at Mirko: athletic build, buff limbs, a grin, tanned skin, red eyes, and most of all, the rabbit ears.
Hero Name: Mirko
Quirk: Rabbit - Mirko can do anything a rabbit does and more!
"But you got spunk, Ashido," responded Mirko. "I knew there was a reason why I chose you. One thing to mention, I heard you got detention, mind explaining why?"
"Well... Yaoyorozu and I got into a small fight..."
Mina did a recount of how her fight with Yaoyorozu went, how it all started with jumping to conclusions, and well... she drew first blood. As soon as she finished, Mirko was laughing for a bit, then burst into full laughter.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Oh god, you remind me of myself when I was in middle school and Iron Hearts High."
Mina had to do a double-take on that one.
"Wait...wait...really?!"
"Yup. Though I didn't use a headbutt as my first move, it was an elbow strike to the face," Mirko responded, reminiscing. The pink girl listened in, but the rabbit hero ended that by saying: "Alright, how about we go out on a patrol in a few minutes?"
Mina gave a thumbs up.
Nagasadou City
Shoto wasn't enjoying this at all, but he had to give credit where credit is due: the old man gets results. He was on a midday patrol, catching his second villain of the day. However, the third villain he came across was of a different caliber...
A pro-fighter who took a dosage of Trigger.
"Shoto! Stand back!"
The pro-fighter had a unique type of Quirk: the ability to turn pain into pleasure, nullifying pain to a degree. On top of that, he was coming straight at him!
Shoto got into his stance, exhaled calmly, then closed the distance...
Demonfire Breath!
Endeavor was surprised by the volley of strikes into the villain's face and the pro-fighter just tanked it, but the bi-haired boy wasn't done just yet. Some of the flame hero's Sidekicks noticed some strange-colored smoke billowing from Shoto...
Hokuto Armor-Destruction Palm!
BOOM!
A decent-sized blast of energy was sent from Shoto's open palm, right into the fighter's rib cage!
KUH-RACK!
He was sent flying into a wall, but the force was too much for him, though he was wheezing happily. He fell to the floor with a thud.
"Villain...apprehended..."
Endeavor had the decency to look a bit shocked, especially with that attack he just used...
Edgeshot Agency
Izuku and Momo made it through the front doors, coming across the directions for Edgeshot's main office. As it shows, it was on the fifth floor.
"... well, here we go."
Izuku said nothing, just walking to the elevator.
He just wanted to get through this first part.
DING!
The doors opened and the two quickly went inside, the doors closing after a few seconds. It was a silent trip.
DING!
The doors open, revealing a fairly ornate hallway. Red carpets with blue accents, but with a set of wooden doors right at the end. They walked up to it, opening the doors, and even Izuku had to be surprised.
The inside was...well... a zen garden. Spiral patterns on the grass. Rocks in the middle. A wooden pavilion was sitting in the middle. The cherry on top is this: sitting in a meditation pose was the Number 5 Pro Hero, Edgeshot.
Hero Name: Edgeshot
Quirk: Foldabody - Able to transform into a razor-sharp string for quick movements, ambush attacks, and incapacitating enemies.
"Ah, Izuku Midoriya and Momo Yaoyorozu."
"H...hi," Momo said.
"Good afternoon, sir," said Izuku.
"I'm glad you chose me. However, there's a reason why I chose the both of you."
The both of them were listening in.
"For Yaoyorozu, you were lacking in combat skills, and your fight with Carmilla demonstrated that."
Momo flinched upon hearing that, but had to concede: she was smart but what use was that if her skills couldn't be up to the task. On top of that, her fight with Mina beat that concept into her mind.
"For Midoriya, you have a violent side."
"What do you mean...?" Midoriya asked, albeit tense.
"The way you fought in the Sports Festival, especially against Todoroki. You suffer from a lack of restraint, would you mind you telling me why?"
The boy clenched his fists but relented. "...My master trained me with this mindset: 'assume every villain's merciless'."
'...And here it fucking comes.'
"That may be true..."
Izuku was caught off-guard by that, but he let him continue.
"...Remember this. Not every villain is the same. Sometimes stepping back and showing mercy is the right option, but even I admit that it has risks: it can help in their path of redemption or fall further into darkness."
Midoriya did not have a response to that, he admits.
"The both of you are training to be heroes, not butchers. However, there's another reason why I chose Yaoyorozu: it was to train her to be flexible in combat scenarios."
As moments pass, the tension between the both of them was starting to decrease.
"Y-you have a point, Edgeshot, sir," Midoriya said, partly letting his guard down.
As Edgeshot stood up from his position, he then said: "Now...we will start training. But by meditation to clear your head."
The both of them nodded, understanding what needs to be done.
Manual Agency
"You know, I appreciate you choosing my small agency and all that," Manual said. "But I'm not sure if you'll have much of a learning experience. Still, I appreciate it though."
"...It's fine."
"Hey, are you okay, Iida?"
Iida was in full costume, but even Manual saw that were something going on with him.
"Tell you what? Let's go on a patrol, it'll help you clear your head."
"That would be good."
As both walked, Iida felt his mind wander for a bit...
'What am I doing... is this what I want-NO! The Hero Killer must pay. He must pay for crippling my brother!'
Hosu City Rooftop
A lone figure was on top, silently watching for more prey, but he was thinking to himself...
Master Kagehama. I only wish to thank you for teaching me all that you could. Especially that one.'
As the figure was stewing in his thoughts, a portal opened from behind him, and due to his killer instincts, he readied for a fight.
"The Hero Killer, I presume?"
"Who wants to know?"
"The League of Villains are interested in forming an alliance with you..."
"If I don't like what I hear, you know the consequences..." said the Hero Killer.
"Just come with me and listen to our offer, our goals can actually align..."
"Hmph...fine."
The Hero Killer entered the portal, following the shadowy figure, and in a few seconds, the portal closed...
Author's Note: However, I want to ask my readers. Should the story be more brutal or should it stay as it is? [the techniques are still gonna be there though]
Hokuto Armor-Destruction Palm - A straight-up blast made of touki. In the hands of a master, it can devastate an entire skyscraper. Its original name is Hokuto Gaiha Sho.
Luna Launch - A counter-attack. Once the user dodges by ducking below, Mirko uses her superior leg strength to leap up and SMACK! Land a devastating snap kick to the opponent's jawline.
Shùnlì = Smooth
Zài yīcì, wǒ hěn bàoqiàn! = Again, I am sorry!
Fuqin = Father
Mama = Mom [yea, it's the same in Chinese]
Hao ba, laoban = Okay, boss.
Stay tuned for the next chapter!
